No Send Button on Reply!

I have Mail 3.5 (930.3) and it works great!
but: the Send button is gone when I choose reply. It's just not on the screen.
I have to forward the message now when I want to reply.
I looked everywhere I can to see if it is a configuration item. No Luck.
I upgraded to the latest OS update. Loaded the new iLife 09.
Any suggestions?

wross10,
Welcome to Apple Discussions.
Open a new "Reply" message and right click on the toolbar to reveal a "Customize Toolbar... choice. That will allow you to add the "Send" icon. Drag the "Send" icon to the toolbar.
The "Send" icon should remain on subsequent "Reply" messages.

  • No Send buttons when replying to messages.

    Hey Mac Users,
When I try to reply to an email and click on "reply" the window that comes up has the adress lines, subject and body, but no buttons across the top for Send, Chat, Attach, Address, etc. To actually Send, I have to close, Save as Draft, then go into Drafts folder. After I double click on the message, then Send button shows up.
Did I accidently turn off some feature?
    Feeling really dumb...
Any help would be much appreciated.
I am also digging around on this site a bit more and apologize in advance if I have posted in the wrong place.
    Thanks!

  • Missing Send Button on Reply eMail

This just began happening but when I read an email and then hit the reply button .. when the reply email opens the "send" button is missing ... I'm forced to save the reply email as a draft and then open the draft in a new window to get the "send" button function .... How do I correct this?

thank you for the info .... it wasn't exactly right for my problem but it sent me in the right direction and i finally figured it out .... i needed to have a 'reply' email open, then from the menu bar for the program, under 'view' i changed the action to 'show toolbar' ..... i don't know what happened to 'hide' the toolbar but somehow i apparently did that .... again, thanks for sending me in the correct direction!!!!

  • I've lost the "Send" button in my reply window. When I double click on a Mail message, on order to reply, the "Send" button at the top of the window is missing. I can reply by closing and saving my reply, and re-openning from Drafts. How to fix?

    Hi, try this...
If nothing is showing in the Toolbar at top, click the little gray oval at top right.
Right click or Control+click on the Toolbar, choose Customize Toolbar, drag the Send button to the Toolbar.

  • Mail Reply has no SEND button.

Several month ago the Reply function in Mail stopped providing a window with the SEND button in the top border. New work as it should. So the only way to Reply to another email was to close the response and select Save into drafts. Then go to drafts and open the saved file. This time when the message came up it displayed a SEND button in the top border. Clicking on this button would send the message. I've done a couple of minor OS updates since this behavior first appeared but the defect has remained. Does anyone know what is happening and how it can be resolved?
    Thanks

is there no toolbar at all in the reply window? if so just click on the little oval in the upper right corner of the reply window. if the toolbar is there but the send button is missing, control-click on the toolbar and select "customize toolbar...". drag the "send" button from the resulting pulldown to the toolbar and click "done".

  • I have no SEND button when I write an e-mail. I am receiving e-mails but cannot reply

Everything was fine this morning. I received and replied to e-mails. Then all of a sudden I went to write an e-mail. Wrote the e-mail but did not have a Send button, nor the toolbar that it was on. In fact the whole layout of "Write" looked different. I am still receiving e-mails but cannot reply to them. Why?

Many thanks - I now have a Send button and used it to send a reply to you.

  • HT3529 I receive messages on my iPad, but I cannot send a reply. The send button will not respond to my touch.

I receive messages on my iPad, but I cannot send a reply. The send button will not respond to my touch.

It's not that you can't use the subject field, but it is very unreliable when I try to use it. Sometimes the message send button will work and sometimes it won't.
But the biggest reason to turn it off is so that you do not accidentally type your message in the subject field. You can type a subject in that field, but you still have to type the actual message in the space below the subject field.

  • Email Button for Reply(Getting sender email address)

    Here is my scenario...
User fill a form and then send it via an email button.
Is it possible the receptian of the form to reply click on an email button to the sender?
The Reply email button will get(with a script) always the value(Email address of the Sender).
    We are using Outlook.
    Thanks very much

    Hi,
To be honest, I think that a visible field for the user to input their email address is going to be the best way.
Acrobat has a property called 'identity' in the Edit > Preferences menu, which contains user information, including email address. However this information only exists if the user has manually typed this into the preferences.
You can access the identify properties using a trusted function, however this can be troublesome, because you need to distribute and install the javascript file into a specific folder on ALL of your user's computers.
In addition if the user has not specified their email address in the preferences, you cannot get this data.
Lastly, there appears to be an issue if the form is Reader Enabled in Acrobat. There is a discussion here: Keep user from printing and seeing certain pages
All in all the trusted function is flaky and liable to failure. Outside of databases or some back end system, I can't see an easy to automatically harvest a users email address.
    Good luck,
    Niall

  • Where did my "send" button go for reply emails?

My send button is all of a sudden missing when I reply to emails.  I have to use the keyboard command to send them.  It is there when I compose a new email.
    Any suggestions?

Well, that simple fix made me feel a little inept:).
Thanks so much for the solution!

  • IPhone Mail app send button greyed out

I have a new iPhone 6 plus with a single IMAP mail account. I can receive mail and reply to mail that's been sent to me but when I start a new mail item the send button is greyed out.
My mail server settings are correct and I've tried reentering the SMTP details, resetting the network settings and restarting the phone. I've tried sending to different addresses and always include a subject and text in the body but the send option never becomes available.

Open Mail Preferences/Accounts/Account information. In the box for the Outgoing Server, I suspect None is selected? Make a selection of the correct SMTP, and that should resolve.

  • Every now and then my SEND button for texts is greyed out and unfunctional

I'll be texting someone just fine then suddenly the SEND button freezes up and doesn't allow me to continue the conversation.
    Anyone else?
    Thanks

Hey! I get the same problem. I'm so happy I found someone like you, cuz no one at Rogers (my carrier) or Apple knows what's going on. I've recently tried going to "Settings" "Messages" and turning OFF "Show Subject Field". I do not yet know if this will solve our problem which is constantly frustrating, but I saw this in a discussion forum so I've just tried this. Let's keep each other posted on this intermittent issue okay? I get so bugged when I'm texting back & forth & suddenly for no reason the "send" button goes gray & simply won't allow me to continue no matter if I turn the phone off/on or whatever or even delete that string of texts & begin again to same person, (who's now been waiting too long for my reply LOL) Cheers, Steve. iPhone (647) 300-9222 Toronto. • "Send" button not working in Mail

Picked up Leopard on an iMac two days ago. Some of the time when I compose a new email, Mail works fine--I click "send" once I'm through typing and out it goes.
Other times--like this morning--I try to send an email and the "send" button is transparent and does not click. This is not a server issue. I tried adding the recipients to my address book in case there was some weird thing where that had to be done first. But to no avail--the "send" button won't click, nor will the "send" command within the toolbar or drop-down menus--and so I have no clue how I'm supposed to send this email if the button to do it is not working. Help!

Unfortunately, the SMTP and outgoing mail settings aren't the issue. The issue is that the "send" button is visible but un-clickable. I tested sending mail from all of my accounts and it works just fine--sometimes. Other times, I try to reply to an email or send out a new one and the "send" button does not allow me to send anything at all.

  • No send button when trying to send a direct message on twitter

I have an ipad mini and every time i want to reply to a dm, i cannot see what i am writing or even send the message. Please help!!

    Hi Amy,
Not sure if you've solved this yet...but...hopefully you've got a split keyboard enabled on your ipad mini? If so this hides the "send" button if you go to settings > general > keyboard > then slide off the split keyboard.
Hope this helps and resolves the issue for you.
    Best Wishes
    Steve
