No Serial Number in my Applecare Protection Plan box

Hi
i just bought an APP for my macbook. It was sealed and looks new. But when i opened it, i couldn't find a sticker or any serial number in it. I only found starting guide book, and a cd. Thats it!
On the bottom of the box i found a sticker with this information
APP FOR MAC - AUTO ENROLL ONLY
Is this OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer)?
Can somebody help me with this problem?

When you order a computer from Apple with Apple Care, its serial number will be registered with Apple Care. You will receive an Apple Care certificate with the computer's serial number, and a box containing the Apple Care documentation and a CD with a limited version of Tech Tools. Since the computer is already registered, there is no need for an Apple Care serial number. There is no need to open the box since you can download a more recent version of its software through the Apple Care site. If you buy Apple Care from a store it will come with a serial number to use when registering your computer with Apple Care. This serial number can be used only once, but if the box is sealed, you know it hasn't been used. You were sold the wrong box.

You should contact Apple for assistance using www.apple.com/support/contact if you are in a country that supports it or call the appropriate phone number on this page. Ask for the agreement administration department. They should be able to fix you up.
    Best of luck.

  • Im having trouble enrolling my applecare protection plan!!!

I just got a 20 GB color ipod, and everytime i go to enroll it with the applecare protection plan, it says the number is invalid, but it is the number right off the APP card. Please help

Doublecheck that you are putting the serial number in one box and the enrollment code in the other box. If you are doing that correctly and it's still not working, there should be a number to Applecare on that card. Usually you can get through to a live person in under 5 minutes, sometimes its right away. They will try it with you over the phone, and if it still doesn't work when they do it, they will likely have you mail or fax your receipt to them and they will enter it.

  • I cannot register my mac book pro applecare protection plan

Originally, I tried several times to purchase the applecare protection plan for my Mac Book Pro online but was presented with errors each time.  I called support and they suggested I purchase the plan at an Apple Store.  Today I did that and now have tried to "register" the plan but after putting in the registration number and my serial number the website refuses to complete the transaction.  Their is no zero vs. oh issue in either of these numbers.

  • Lost Applecare protection plan?

    Hey guys,
Almost a year ago, my brother bought my Macbook Pro, and picked up an AppleCare Protection Plan a few days later. I apparently lost the documentation before I was able to register, and just now my MacBook Pro is starting to act up.
    1) First of all, is it even possible to purchase AppleCare without giving my Serial Number or anything else that ties it to my computer?
    2) Am I basically screwed out of my AppleCare since it was bought separately at a date I'm not sure about, never registered, and I can't find the documentation?
This is really important to me, and my warranty ends the end of the 5th, so any help at all would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    - Keith

Nope it's not registered, which is what I thought. But is it really possible to buy AppleCare without giving any identifiable information as to what it protects?
An AppleCare Protection Plan for a MacBook (or iPod or iPhone or Mac Pro tower or display) is a stand alone product. It is sold in many places just like any box of software. It's up to you to open the box and enroll the product using the serial number. When you purchase an APP you do not need to provide a serial number. The purchase is not the transaction that enrolls the plan for your product. If you never used the enrollment number in your box to apply to the serial number of your product over the phone (or online or by mailing in the enrollment card), then your product can't be covered.
If you buy your computer at an Apple retail store and purchase an APP at the same time then they will ask you for your contact information when you pay and they can enroll it for you right then and there. But, if the product and the APP are purchased separately, they're not tied together until you go through the enrollment step.
If you have a receipt for the Mac and a receipt for the purchase of the AppleCare Protection Plan, you can call AppleCare Support (in the US at 1-800-APL-CARE), there will be an option to talk to someone about AppleCare itself rather than "technical support". A person there can probably contact an AppleCare specialist you can fax your receipts and the enrollment number and they MAY be able to enroll your computer. If you don't have both receipts and the enrollment number, they won't be able to help you.
If you really don't have the original AppleCare Protection Plan information, I'd suggest you buy a second copy and enroll it with the new number. If you find your original plan's information later, you can resell it to someone else who can use the enrollment number to apply to their Mac's serial number.

  • AppleCare Protection plan for iphone4

I intend to upgrade my current 3GS to iphone 4 when it is available. Just happened i hv an unused applecare protection plan. Wonder whether this unused plan can be use on iphone 4?

    stellamaris5 wrote:
Would it be automatically attached to the device if it was purchased at the same time as the device itself, i.e. does Apple register it to the device automatically when you buy it or do you still need to register it online yourself?
It should be unopened and in the box. You will need to open the box and go to the website it gives, then enter in your code for AppleCare, and attach it to your device (did it once, for a friend, not me, quite a while ago). I can't remember how you attach it to your device, I'm assuming by the serial number, since that's the only thing on ALL devices that different.

  • Problems Registering an AppleCare Protection Plan

Thanks for ur help in advance
I'm from Croatia and got my MacBook from USA. A friend of mine that lives in L.A. ordered it to his name and got me an AppleCare Protection Plan too. Date of the purchase is December, 31st 2008. The problem follows..... I can't remember if I registered my ACPP and if I did, have I wrote mine or my friends personal information. I obviously don't have a printed copy of an email that ur supposed to receive after registering the ACPP. it's been a while so it might be that I deleted it or never got it.. ****.. so now I need a confirmation email printed out to have my MacBook serviced, along with a receipt that I have. I don't have it in my inbox, I dont know how to check if It's already registered and I don't remember on whose name it is registered to... Please give any tips, suggestions or anything! I'm desperate! Nikola

And for your general knowledge, the ACPP goes with the equipment. You could sell me your computer, never transfer anything and I could take it in and it would be covered. Just enter your serial number as was suggested and it will let you know.
Also, by that time, if you purchased ACPP while purchasing the MacBook at an Apple Store, then it was automatically registered, or should have been.

  • I wish to get AppleCare Protection Plan and my Warranty expired a few days ago.

I got my iPod touch on 12th november 2011 as a prize in a Quiz Competetion. A few days ago I called apple customer support and they say my warranty is expired... According to them, the warranty started in February 2011 and has expired. I wish to get AppleCare Protection Plan and a customer support executive told me over the phone that I would get it but I got no follow up call. My Apple Support /case number is 292089289
I have got a dead pixel on my iPod and I wish to get it replaced. I hope something can be done.
    Thanking You

Check your warranty here: https://selfsolve.apple.com/agreementWarrantyDynamic.do .  If it truly as expired, there is nothing you can do ablut it.  You ca no longer extend the warranty.  Otherwise people would wait to see if their iPod needed service beforing buying the coverage.

  • AppleCare Protection Plan for iPhone

The Protection Plan costs $69.00 for a second year of coverage and I do not know if I should buy it. I have heard that the battery in the iPhone needs to be replaced yearly, is this true? I have heard that to replace a battery, it will cost around $85 and if this is true, isn't it better to get the AppleCare package for $69?
    Thanks

    Ansuz82,
The iPhone batteries page says designed to retain 80% at this link in the right hand side bar:
    http://www.apple.com/batteries/iphone.html
The quote from that page is:
A properly maintained iPhone battery is designed to retain up to 80% of its original capacity at 400 full charge and discharge cycles. You may choose to replace your battery when it no longer holds sufficient charge to meet your needs.
The page you link to says it will be replaced by Apple if it drops to below 50% capacity while covered. The actual quote is:
Your one-year warranty includes replacement coverage for a defective battery. You can extend your coverage to two years from the date of your iPhone purchase with the AppleCare Protection Plan for iPhone. During the plan’s coverage period, Apple will replace the battery if it drops below 50% of its original capacity. If it is out of warranty, Apple offers a battery replacement for $79, plus $6.95 shipping, subject to local tax. Apple disposes of your battery in an environmentally friendly manner.
In other word it should retain 80% of its capacity at least after 400 full charge cycles. If your battery should drop below 50% capacity while covered by warranty or AppleCare Protection Plan, it will be replaced by Apple. There isn't a way to read the number of cycles off the battery that I am aware of.
    Hope this helps,
    Nathan C.

  • Eligible for AppleCare Protection Plan but can't purchase it?

I have an iPhone 5c that according to both the Apple warranty checker  https://selfsolve.apple.com/agreementWarrantyDynamic.do
and Apple Store Genius (at Lenox Square Mall in Buckhead Georgia, on 9/27/2014) is eligible for AppleCare Protection Plan (extensible before 10/4/2014).  I was asked to call Apple to purchase the extension.  However, when I called, AppleCare Senior Advisor Jeffrey told me that Apple has discontinued selling the standard AppleCare plan, and he was not able to add it to my phone.
Anyone else is having the same issue?  Any other way to add the AppleCare protection plan?
I was dumbfounded.   I bought a phone with the understanding that I could extend the warranty within a year, and Apple just went and changed it without any provision to grandfather the existing customers?  I can tell you that my 5c's value just went down.  So is my opinion of Apple - where is the commitment to their existing customers?
I really hope this message finds the right person who is in a position to help me and others in similar situations.  This is my second time posting this question today - the first post disappeared, which was not confidence inspiring either.

    Hi panman,
I think that there was some confusion that occurred on your call. You asked for AppleCare, but only AppleCare + is available for iPhones. Maybe that is what the person you spoke to meant (not sure....)
I purchased AppleCare + for my iPhone 5s after I had purchased it, and went to the chat to get the info on how to purchase it.
You are correct, you need to talk with an Apple person to actually purchase it after the fact. Go to this link and try again - and just let them know you want to purchase Apple Care Plus:
    http://www.apple.com/support/products/iphone.html
(number at the bottom of the page).

  • No registration card for AppleCare Protection Plan

I purchased my Apple TV about a month ago and I just now opened up the protection plan for it and noticed that there's no registration card for it. Did I just get a bad copy or is there somewhere that I'm not looking? For example, I notice that there's a white label on the bottom of the box that has some numbers with the words "Auto Enroll" next to them. Will these work or is my suspicion that I got a bad copy a reality?

    Dave Sawyer wrote:

That would seem to indicate that your AppleCare was set up automatically and no further action on your part is necessary. Auto-enroll is usual when purchasing AppleCare at the same time you purchase your product. You should be able to check the status by going to this web page:
    https://selfsolve.apple.com/GetWarranty.do
and entering in the appropriate information. You'll then see the expiration of coverage for the unit. If it's more than one year from date of purchase of your Apple TV, you're good to go. You can also call AppleCare via the number that should be on the package.

After checking the web page that you provided and entering the information required, I got this message:
"Our records indicate that your product is covered for service and telephone support under the AppleCare Protection Plan which is estimated to expire on August 17, 2010."
It seems that I was automatically covered with the AppleCare from day one as I bought both the Apple TV and AppleCare at the same time at an Apple Store. Thanks Dave and to all of those who answered my question!
