No Server Name displyed in mail notification Alert generated by "total CPU Utilization Percentage is too high" Monitor

Hello Everyone,
I need your assisstance in one of the issues with Mail Notification Alert generated by SCOM.
Mail notification received as below:
Alert: Total CPU Utilization Percentage is too high
Severity: 2
ServerName:Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard  - The threshold for the Processor\% Processor Time\_Total performance counter has been exceeded. The values that exceeded the threshold are: 97.091921488444015% CPU and a processor queue length of 16.
Last modified by: System
The Alert was generated by "Total CPU Utilization Percentage"
But the problem with the above mail notification is it doesn't mentions about the affected server. So I would like to know how to tweak the monitors to provide the server name into it.
Thanks & Regards,
VROAN

Hi
You can add alert source to the email format in the scom server.
refer below link for parameters

  • Total CPU Utilization Percentage - Windows Server 2012 Operating System

    Hi All
I had gone through all the articles and agree with posts submitted, but do we have any KPI stating - ProcessorQueueLength actually tied to the number of logical cpu's.
As Jonathan stated in one of the forums
ProcessorQueueLength actually needs to exceed Processor Queue Length Threshold * Number Of Processors. Where do we find this and how to validate.
We had an issue of CPU been high almost 99% for hours, but never alerted. Any kind of pointers will be helpful, especially supporting statement like Processor Queue Length Threshold is tied up with number of logical CPU's.

    Hi
you can create monitoring for performance counter for below counter
    Object :System
    Counter: Processor Queue Length.

  • E-mail notification alert not appearing

    Hello,
I am running Thunderbird 24.4.0 on Windows 7. I am using no add-ons and I am only using a Gmail account with Thunderbird right now for testing.
I do not receive any new e-mail notifications. I did receive them once or twice before, but it is very random and rare when I do receive a new e-mail alert.
However when I maximize Thunderbird, it displays the new e-mail. So Thunderbird is indeed actually receiving the e-mail, it is just failing to notify me.
I have ensured notifications are enabled in the Menu Bar > Tools > Options.
I have tried using Add-ons such as:
    https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/thunderbird/addon/mailbox-alert/
    https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/thunderbird/addon/new-mail-attention/
Which also do not help display alerts. However the "new mail attention" add-on does blink the Thunderbird icon on the Windows taskbar, so at least something can notify me.
I have also tried running Thunderbird in safe mode, and running it in compatibility mode for Windows Vista, both also did not help. This appears to be a bug in Thunderbird, as I have noticed other users mentioning the same issue.

Thank you rsx11m, your suggestion seems to have fixed it! Yes I did have Gmail configured as an IMAP account. Much appreciated.

  • Not receiving Critical Patch Update  E-mail Notification Alerts - used to

I am no longer receiving the Security Alert Email Notifications for the Oracle Critical Patch Updates. Also, the instructions on the OTN web page are no longer valid (no longer a Opt-In category). I have the box checked to receive the emails, but for some reason they are no longer being sent. I have checked my "Junk and SPAM" mail folders - not there and they are not being filtered by our company email program. I have a non-technical SR opened with support, but they are not understanding the issue.
    On the
http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/topics/security/alerts-086861.html#SecurityAlerts page, there is a link (Click here for instructions on how to configure email notifications.) which takes you to

This is the URL that we go to to setup or subscribe to Critical Patch Update Alert emails

When going to my account, there is no longer the the Opt-in to Oracle Communications section
    I have
Subscription Center (Under Subscription Center is)
Oracle Technology News (under Oracle Technology News is a checkbox for)
Oracle Security Alerts - Get the latest Security Alerts issued by Oracle as they become available.
This box is checked and has been for a very long time, but stopped getting the emails. I am not the only DBA who is having this issue where I work - several others have the same problem and it looks like there are more DBA's in the Oracle Community who have same problem

  • Does Verizon have an e-mail notification alert icon to go in the notification area of the taskbar?

I'd like to be notified when I receive e-mail in my Verizon "In Box" . Does Verizon have such a notification? I'm referring to an icon in the notification area of the taskbar that says "You have mail" or something to that effect.

There would need to be a program installed on your computer. Verizon does not have such a program. Popular email clients are Outlook, Mac Mail, Windows Live Mail, Thunderbird, etc.

  • Setting Up E-Mail Notifications On Servers

    Hi,
I have a few physical servers running Windows Server 2008 R2 and Windows Server 2012and I would like to know how I would configure each server to send e-mail notifications if it goes down and if updates installed successfully or failed. I also use SCVMM

I would appreciate any advice and suggestions.

  • E-Mail Notification for KM Feedback

    Dear All,
My requirement is to get the E-mail notification for some one posting feedback (repo service) for particular KM resouurces. I have made all the settings
    Configured the Notificator Service
    Enabled the Mailing Service
Configured the Email channel and Originator.
I have enabled Subscription for this KM folder like (/documents/Public Documents/Test Folder). If admin upload any document or files in the above folder.
    I received E-Mail notification alert.
But for the same resources if any one posting feedback or review i didnt get any E-mail notification
    How to achieve this?

    Hi, THILLAI NATARAJAN.
The Feedback notification comes to the UWL of the person who has created the document (folder).
No E-Mails are sent, and subscription service does not work in that case.
If you want to fulfill your requirements you need to create a custom portal component which adds the Feedback to the resource and sends the E-Mails too.
    Regards, Mikhail.

  • HTML tags in text-only e-mail notification (with HTML attachment)

    Greetings,
Our "Purchase Order Review" e-mail notifications (as generated by the WF-Mailer) have HTML tags in the message body (which is "plain-text" text-only), with an HTML attachment. (The attachment looks good, and is what we are expecting.) All our e-mail notifications are text-only (which is how we want them), and this is the only kind of notification that is generating HTML tags in the 'text-only' message body.
We'd like to keep the HTML attachment as it is, but we want to have the e-mail message body be text (without any HTML tags). The other option that would be acceptable is to NOT have any message content at all, and only the HTML attachment.
Can either of these options be done, and how do we go about doing them?? Thanks!! -- Tom

in the notifications properties you will see two tabs, in one you can enter your message in text and in another you can enter in html. not sure if you had tried these.

  • How to see the "display name" at workflow e-mail notification?

    Hi all,
I would like to see the “display name” instead of the e-mail address when I receive a workflow e-mail notification. It seems to be something likes that:
From: “KM Notification System” <[email protected]>
<b>Is it possible to configure the e-mail notification to do it?</b>
PS.: I already tried to configure the e-mail notification at UME configuration (using config tool) and replaced “[email protected]” with ““KM Notification System” <[email protected]>”. But, after restart the server I’m still receiving workflow e-mail notification without the “display name” appearing.
    Thanks in advanced,
    Alcides Flach

    Hi,
I solved the problem. Its is working now.
I've replaced the notificator.EMAIL* [email protected] with “KM Notification System” <[email protected]> and it works fine.

  • SQL Server 8 / Server 2003 + Exchange 2010 E-Mail Notification

I was asked to setup a mail profile on the SQL 8 server we have running on Server 2003 so it can send emails via exchange. Every guide online is telling me to install an exchange client but I have no idea what an exchange client is? Anyone got any guides
    for this?

    Hi Neurotox,
According to your description, we need to verify if you use SQL Server 2008 and
want to setup a mail profile in SQL Server database for sending an email or notification. If yes, as other post, you need to configure database mail in SQL Server. In SQL Server 2000 , it supports MAPI profiles to send email instead of an
SMTP server. SQL Mail requires a MAPI-compliant mail server (Microsoft Exchange Server) and a MAPI client (Microsoft Outlook).
And now it uses an SMTP server to send mail. When you specify the related accounts associated with the profile, you can use
an external e-mail application, such as 126, 163, yahoo and so on.
Only set the right SMTP server name, port number, and
in Basic Authentication option, enter the same email ID along with the valid password of the email ID. It can send and receive e-mail.

  • Domain name/"primary DNS" name/mail host name/mail server name/mx name

    Hi,
I have registered my domain name (N.com) with an external dns server and created an MX record (mail.N.com) for it as well. My server sits behind a router and internet traffic is port(80)-forwarded to my server's fixed internal ip address (I can access my webpages from the internet just fine). When I initially setup the server I was asked to give it a "primary DNS name." I naturally assumed that N.com was supposed to be entered here, but that just caused all kinds of problems (though I still do not understand why). So I reinstalled and currently have server.N.com as the primary DNS name of the server (although it shows up in Server Admin and Workgroup Manager as server.local--why is that?)
I have had no luck getting any email from the internet with the default settings in mail services (domain name of N.com and host name of server.N.com). Having no luck with the defaults, I assumed that maybe I needed to change the host name to "mail.N.com" so that it matched the MX record. I also changed the user preferences in Workgroup Manager to receive mail from mail.N.com--but still no luck. Could someone tell me what I am doing wrong and how come none of the Mail Service literature mentions anything about what a mail "host name" is supposed to be? Is it supposed to be the same as the "Mail Server" name that Workgroup Manager asks each user for? and is it the same as the MX record name?
I am just needing some help to connect all these variously named, but undefined, dots.
Also, how come I can access webmail from the internet using www.N.com/webmail but can't do it from any computers within my physical network (I have to use IPaddress/webmail or server.local/webmail)?
Also, should my user email addresses be [email protected] or [email protected] (which is the current default)?
Thanks in advance and good luck!
    John

I had been told by a friend that ... regular email coming in from the internet would go through port 80
    Unfortunately you were misinformed.
My MX record needs the extra subname (such as "mail") in front of the domain name, right?
Not at all. A MX record for 'N.com' is entirely valid (expected, in fact).
An MX record tells remote mail servers where to send mail for any domain/subdomain. If you think about it, let's say you worked for Apple and you wanted people to be able to send email to [email protected], well then you need an MX record for 'apple.com'.
You can see if you dig MX apple.com that they actually have 9 MX records, but the point still stands.
Now, you might also have MX records for subdomains so that you can have [email protected], [email protected], [email protected], etc. Each of these subdomains would need a separate MX record.
So, in general, for any set of email addresses @[anything.]domain.com you have a MX record telling remote mail servers where to send that mail.
Of course the MX record name is mail.N.com, but I think you are implying that the in the Mail settings of Server Admin where it asks for domain name all I need to put there is the N.com, right?
What I mean is that you need to set the domain name to whatever domain name you expect to receive mail at.
If you want users to have email addresses in the form of [email protected], then you enter 'N.com'.
If you want users to have email addresses in the form of [email protected] then you enter 'mail.N.com'.
If you want both forms, enter one in the main domain and add the other(s) in the Advanced -> Hosting -> Local Host Aliases section.
Is there anything in the Mail settings that needs to have the full MX record name (mail.N.com)?
Yes. Either the 'domain name' or the 'Local Host Aliases' needs to contain the same thing as your MX record. That's because the MX record tells remote servers to send mail to this machine, but the machine won't accept the mail unless it is configured to do so.
What is the "host name" supposed to be?
This should be the name that remote servers see when this machine tries to send outgoing mail.
Ideally this should match the reverse DNS of your IP address, that way when it connects to a remote server it says "Hi, I'm $hostname" and the remote server can lookup the machine's IP address and see the same result. This will reduce the problem of remote servers thinking you're sending them spam.
If you only have a single IP address then this probably needs to be something like 'N.com'. If you don't have control over your reverse DNS then you're going to run into a problem.
Also in the user accounts (in Workgroup Manager) what should the "mail server name" be? Is it the host name or the domain name?
    Off hand, I don't know.
Also, why are all the default user email addresses [email protected] (the name I gave the server at setup)? Why doesn't the user accounts create [email protected] as the default address?
Presumably because the mail server says it is 'server.N.com' and therefore any accounts on that machine would be [email protected]. Changing the domain name (as above) should fix that.
