No Service iOS 4.0.1

Greetings all,
I am having trouble in getting a signal for my iPhone 3gs. It was bought in Dubai. I had no problems back then when it was on iOS 3.x.x.. Coverage was good then.. I updated it to 4.0.1 and the coverage slowly deteriorates. It was usable a few weeks ago, until it only has a coverage in open areas. I though the problem was with the service provider, but then I placed the SIM card to a n0k1a-1112, which is pretty much very low-tech compared to the iPhone but it was able to get a good signal even indoors. I even placed the SIM back to the phone, and put another cellphone with the same service provider side-by-side and the iPhone has no signal.. So now, my questions are, how can I fix this network problem? Is the problem a software issue? or hardware issue?

At its current place, it used to get good coverage, atleast 3 bars. But now, its always either searching, or no network.. But if I placed the SIM to another phone, it gets full signal strength.
I am actually thinking of just bringing it to apple's tech, just need to find one, hope it would not cost so much..

Is there any legit DIY way to fix this?
I did talk to a friend and he says to jailbreak it. I really do not want to go do it, unless its the only option for me to have the phone back in iPhone.. <tear>

I just stepped outside to activate it, and atleast it did. Although I still have to force the issue, like going to Settings > Carrier, then manually selecting my network. It did get 4 bars at first, then to 1 bar, then to no service then up to 1 bar... <sigh>.. I really need to have this checked out by a tech guy.

Spotlight Suggestions always using location services iOS 8.1

Hi all,
I'm running iOS 8.1 on my iPhone 5 and always have the location arrow top right of the screen. This seems to be down to "Spotlight Suggestions". As soon as I switch this off, the arrow goes and only comes on occasionally as expected. I assume this is not normal behaviour when not searching?
Has anyone else seen this issue and able to offer any resolution without disabling? Should I reset safari etc?

If you have Bing Web Results and/or Spotlight Suggestions turned on, it will use location services. (Settings app > General > Spotlight Search). That is normal behavior.

Disable Location Services - iOS, Intune MDM

Hi
I'm trying to find a way to prevent users from being able to change their location services options.
I know there's an option to do it on an iOS device manually with a restriction \ parental control on the "Location Services" area with a passcode.
my goal is to do the same from the MDM.
I have Apple Configurator up and running and I have an Intune account, but I couldn't find any way to do it from any of them :/
I even tried to deploy a profile with the Apple Configurator but there's no option for "location services". I guess it's because users need to first define their Location once and only then apply the restriction. I don't mind deploying all the
devices the location, as they're all from the same country
any original idea would be great!

Is there a version of the iOS "get started" demo client app written in Swift?

Thank you for getting back to me so quickly!
When I signed in to Event Viewer, I got an error message that my event services weren't running, so I downloaded this fix from Microsoft: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2478117
That started my Event Services and allowed me to sign into Event Viewer and clear my logs. They are all clear now.
Then I repaired my version of 11G and rebooted, but am still unable to connect to the database or the Get Started URL.

No Service iOS 7

I am constantly getting no service. Never done this before today's update and it is getting aggervating because I can't send and recieve text messages and worried I am missing phone calls.
It comes and goes...I'm on tmobile but bought my phone from apple unlocked...my phone hasn't rang all day.

Anyone else having this?

Router 877 changing Ios

i dont know if it's the correct forum but i got a simple question that i would like to be answered.
Recently i brought a 877 adsl router with the advance security ios. I thought this ios supported 802.1q, but i don't think so. So i upgraded to advance ip services ios. This ios support 802.1q and vlan implementation. The router seems to work fine. Everything was configured through CLI.
My question: This upgrade can cause some kind of problem with router functionality? if so, which ones?
The configuration is very simple: no vpns and basic firewall configuration.

IOS Upgrades Dont affect Router Functionality BUT the features available on the Device.
Min Flash Requirement is There as BackUp Images are Recommended. In case The New Image is Corrupt or things dont go as planned, We can Manually boot the Router from Rommon.
Its a Standard Practice in Production Environment so as to Maximize Uptime.
Regarding the Features Required the best Pactice is to Use Cisco Feature Navigator

If I understand you correctly, I have the same configuration. My modem supports Internet and phone service and my television service bypasses the modem. It does not do any routing. It has a single Ethernet port and I plugged in an external router with a WiFi radio - Apple Airport Express. Works like a champ.
Configuration of the Express was difficult. I had to plug it in to AC power and to the modem. Then, I opened up Airport Utility and had to click "yes" for each recommendation. Then I had to really think hard to come up with a WiFi password. Took me a horrendous thirty seconds from start to finish!

Cellurar Data - Mapping services

when i turn on my cellular data, mapping services start using my 3G and i don't want that!How can i disable mapping services?please help me

It sounds like you notice that a service is using your 3G connection when you enable cellular data. If you are referring to the Maps app using your data, you can disable Maps in the Cellular settings on your phone:
Choose Settings > Cellular to view the cellular data usage for each app. Tap to turn off cellular data for an app. Contact your carrier if you have questions about your cellular data usage.

IOS IPS and SDM 2.2.a

Hello everybody!,
I have installed a Cisco 2821 Router with 12.4(4)T IOS version. And SDM V2.2.a. (enteprise service IOS image).
The router have 256MB Ram and 64MB flash memory.
From the SDM Interface cannot upload any .sdf file and cannot edit the signatures and tune de IOS IPS.
Do you know how i can fix that problem?.

To add more info, here is the info on defect filed on SDM for RCP issue and workaround suggested.
Symptoms:
Issue 1) Installation of SDM version 2.2a or earlier on a router fails with RCP failure message.
Issue 2) "Load File from PC" feature of File Management dialog in SDM version 2.2a or earlier
fails.
Conditions:
These issues will be encountered for IOS images 12.4(4)T and above.
SDM uses RCP for installation operations. This problem occurs because the fix for CSCdu34824 in
recent Cisco IOS releases has changed RCP behavior. Because of this change, if the RCP client
uses a non-privileged port , the router RCP server does not respond and the above issues occur.
Workaround:
1) For Issue 1 :- Use the copy tftp flash command to copy SDM related files from PC to router.
2) For Issue 2 :- Use the copy tftp flash command to copy the required file from PC to router.

Imessage location service not accurate

i keep my location service on indefinitely but my phone is always charged. I forgot to charge it a few days ago and when it died the location showed I was somewhere completely different then where I was. Has this happened to anyone? What causes that?

Cisco 867w and Advanced IP Services

Can anybody tell me if the Cisco 867w ISR router has an IOS with the Advanced IP Services? I need to use this router with Amazon VPC and BGP is required, where the Universal IOS does not accomodate BGP.
Any help is very much appreciated.

Are you talking from experience on these devices and have tried to get BGP working on them. It is important i get the right device as i am trying to connect to the Amazon VPC system and these routers have been recommended.

We have the port bounce feature in test enviroment on switch 3560 with advance IP services IOS 12.2(46)SE and it was working fine, but now we are facing problem with 3750.

Thanks for your reply, SNMP settings are perfect since am able to manage the switch from CAM, i can change the port settings as well and yes mac-notification change is added automatically except bouncing the ports between vlans.
Am not sure but i suspect this could be the problem with IOS as it is IPBase, but in the test environment it was AdvanceIPservices and everything was perfect.

I got error 53 following ios update 8.1.1 on my Verizon iPhone 6 64GB
I tried to get it replaced at a Verizon store - they would not, but informed me I just needed to contact Apple and they would send me a new one.
I contacted Apple for a replacement, gave them my credit card info just in case I failed to send the broken one back. They said I would have one in a couple of business days.
3 days go by and I check Apples support site, input my case number only to find my replacement has been cancelled.
I then call Apple and spend the next hour and a half - seriously that long, waiting for someone to explain why my replacement has not been sent out.
I went through three reps and ended up with Monica who informed me that I needed a proof of purchase before they could send out a replacement.
I could take it into a store and get a replacement, but they couldn't send me one until I sent them a proof of purchase.
Iphone 6 launched in November 2014. It is now December 2014. It is still under 12 month warranty - why the <expletive deleted> do I need to send in a proof of purchase? When I asked this to my rep she had no answer, but sympathized at my frustration.
Very disappointed at the abysmal level of customer service. iOS updates are not much fun when they brick your phone
