Ive got an Iphone 4 second hand, unlocked, but cant seem to get any signal or service even tho the sim is registered? done all the resets and still no luck, Any ideas please? Do you think it might be a hardware problem? Thanks in advance.

  • Calling Web Service from SIM

    Hi all,
We have to call a web service from SIM.
I don't have any idea how to implement this.
Do we have to create a custom adapter for this, or we have to use SPML or we can call it direct from workflow?
Please suggest the appropriate option and also what kind of web services can be called from SIM i.e. they are as simple as other web services or there is any specific implementation details for that. In our web service we only have to call a method that accepts an integer argument and also returns an integer.
If there is any link or document that can be helpful please provide.
    Thanks

Calling direct to the web service does work. But the advantage of doing a resource adapter is that the calls are integrated into the standard IdM processing. So you will have the standard auditing and tracing capabilities and the ability to see the user in the IdM GUI etc.
I think as a short cut under time pressure calling direct is ok but architecturally the RA approach is probably better.
Also a precision: I should have said 'mix and match alomost certainly will not work, out of the box'. We did manage to make Sun JWSDP webservice code run in Web Sphere. But you have to bung all the jars you need into the idm war file and then do a tricky WASsy thing where you set the 'Parent Last' parameter on the IdM web app AND module (two levels) to ensure that the JWSDP classes are loaded before any WAS webservice classes. Oh joy.

  • I connected my iphone 3g to itunes which was in 4.1 firmware and itunes ask for an update which i downloaded an updated the phone to version 6.1.3 but my phone cannot start it shows no service my sim card is not getting network and i cannot use the phone.

i connected my iphone 3g to itunes which was in 4.1 firmware and itunes ask for an update which i downloaded an updated the phone to version 6.1.3 but my phone cannot start it shows no service my sim card is not getting network and i cannot use the phone. what should i do.?

First, you do not have a 3G if you could upgrade it to 6.1.3, because 4.2.1 is the last version that will work on the 3G. So you either have a 3GS or you somehow hacked the phone to install an incompatible version. You can check the model you have by entering your serial number here: https://selfsolve.apple.com/agreementWarrantyDynamic.do
Assuming you have a 3GS the most likely reason for your problem is you have a gray market phone that was hacked or jailbroken to unlock it. When you upgraded it you removed the hack, so the phone is now locked to its original carrier.

  • Cellular - Suddenly "No Service" and "SIM not provisioned" iPad 2 and mini

I have an iPad 2 and an iPad mini and occasionally sign up for AT&T cellular service on both, has always worked and never had a problem, until now!
Suddenly on BOTH iPads I see "No Service" and if I check network in settings I see "SIM not provisioned"?
My question is, does anybody know what has happened, especially as it has happened to both of my iPads, what it means and how I can resolve it?
I was reluctant to post as I see lots of similar posts on line, but couldn't anywhere find a solution.

Talk to your carrier, it's their sim problem.

  • HT1316 my phone is activated through phone company but just recently it is saying 'no service' as SIM card is provisioned how do i get service back on my phone?

my phone is activated through carrier and has been working, just recently it is saying no service as the SIM card is not provisioned. how do i fix this?

Now 1st make sure there is nothing wrong on the carrier side
2nd make sure sim card works and make sure sim trey is not damaged some how.
    Try settings>general>reset>reset network settings
Try as well a restore as new and with the iPhone as it was when you 1st got it see if you have service, if not go o an apple store or call apple care.
Try all that in that same order, and test it afterwards.
    Hope that helps

  • HT1430 Ipurchased a iphone 4s 8gb in jakarta. it was able to recognise only 2 network providers sim card (mentari & xl).it colud not recognise any other service provider sim cards. How can I use this GSM phone across other countries having different servi

I purchsed an apple iphone 4s(8gb) GSM phone in jakarta from authorised apple store on 22/3/2014.The phone could recognise only 2 network service providers out of many that are available .Despite all efforts (approximately 6 hours) to make the phone recognise other sim cards, nothing could be done. The  reseller finally begged excuse and said that this phone was meant for use only in indonesia with only 2 service provide(xl & mentari).& with no other service providers at all. That sounds weird to me. At the end of the day, the reseller finally cancelled my transaction and i had to return back home sad &  empty  handed.
Apple, do u have  any answer to this issue with your i phone 4s 8gb in Indonesia?

  • HT4623 can't install, no service of sim card

I was upgrading my iOS from 4.1 to 6, but suddenly my sim card was no service that's why i cant activate my iphone.. so what is the right thing to do to activate it? i need help..

Remove and re-insert the SIM. Get a replacement SIM from your carrier.
If you phone was jailbroken or hacked to unlock it, it is bricked. Buy a new phone.

  • After unlock my iPhone 4 iOs 6.0.1  is not accepting any sim , i tried using new sim  first it shoes no service then sim failure and invalid sim . what should i do do make it work

after inlocking  my iPhone 4    iOs 6.0.1  it shows no service when i used a new sim .

If it is showing invalid SIM error, then the unlocking is not complete. Depending on what carrier authorized the unlock, most require the phone to be restored before the unlock is complete. Once you restore, you should receive a message stating Congratulations, your phnoe is unlocked. Then you restore the  backup of the device from before the unlock restore.

  • Does a 3G iPhone need a service provider/SIM card to access the internet?

We have an old iPhone 3G that is no longer on a Bell contract.  We have installed Apps on the iphone through the computer but I cannot get the the wifi to work on it.  Does it need to be under contract with a carrier or have a SIM card in order for wifi to work?

It can still excess the Internet through Wi Fi.

  • My fone keeps coming up no service when sim inserted

Hi all, I have bought an unlocked iPhone 3GS but whatever sim I put in it comes up no service

Where exactly did you purchase this "unlocked iPhone 3Gs"?
If you didn't buy it at an Apple Store, you probably got ripped off with a "hacked iPhone 3Gs".
If you got it from an Apple Store, go back to them and see if they can help you activate it.
If you bought it somewhere else, return it and get your money back.

  • No service, sim not provisioned, copy numbers from old phone to iPhone!!!

As Apple don't provide any sort of useful instruction manual with the iphone here are the probs and answers I encountered with my iPhone 3GS.
*copy numbers from old phone to iPhone*
1st problem is that my old Nokia had far more numbers stored on it than on the Sim card alone, so having received and opened box of iPhone with new sim card I switched off my old Nokia phone, removed old sim card, replaced it with new sim card and copied contents to new card, then ejected new card from old phone and fitted in new iPhone.
NOTE: You will need to have an iTunes account set-up.
From the main menu in the iPhone select 'settings' > 'Mail, Contacts, Calendars', then scroll down & click on 'Import SIM contacts'. The numbers should be copied from your sim to your iPhone which stores the numbers on its memory rather than the SIM. - I looked for hours before discovering this!
If you have more numbers on your old phone, then be careful to select numbers from phone / sim which is in the 'phone book' > 'settings' >'Memory in use' because you can more numbers from phone to sim and similarly protect numbers from deletion by moving them to the phone memory.
It took me three chip moves from phone memory from Nokia to iPhone before all the numbers were moved.
Note that text messages are NOT transferred from Nokia to iPhone via sim.
**No Service* or 'Sim not provisioned'*
Not able to connect to the rest of the world or SIM not provisioned may be down to you not switching your phone off properly, no thanks to the rubbish instruction manual with the iPhone where they assume you know where everything is!
Anyone looking for help on this subject, look to the button located on the top of the phone at the right, and hold it down until you see the message 'slide to power off' the slide your fingers of the message from left to right until the phone switches off.
This advice posted by my own problems with using the iPhone for the first time today.
Having played around with the settings for a few hours I need to make comment that the iPhone is light years ahead of its competition.

  • Constantly getting Little Service, NO SERVICE or NO SIM.

Anyone else getting this? I am even when my buddy is right next to me with a full service iphone If so, how did you fix it. Do i ned to go to an Apple Store or sent my iphone in?

Ok, this ("no service", "no sim", etc...) happened to my phone a few more times since my last post, and tonight I finally took it to the Apple store. The "genius" behind the bar said he hadn't heard of this at all yet (take a look at the Apple forums, MacRumors, MacFixit, EverythingiPhone, even other employees in his own store!), and I got the distinct impression he was just saying that so as not to cause a stir among the population.
Anyway, he gave me a new iPhone and activated it there in the store for me. As soon as he activated it, we got the dreaded "no service" indicator. I powered off the phone and powered it back on again, and this time it got service.
See?, I said. To him, however, that was just proof that the problem is AT&T's, and not Apple's, since two phones in a row did it, and it couldn't be a hardware problem. We'll see. He sent me on my way saying I should call AT&T and have them check my account. I'm waiting now for the new phone to finish syncing, and then I'll use it for a while and see what happens. I'll also try to find the time tomorrow to give AT&T a call and see what they tell me.
Does anyone have more definitive info on this issue? Is it possible to tell whether it is Apple's or AT&T's issue? Phone shouldn't suddenly lose service so frequently, and powering them up shouldn't cause frequent sim errors. I'd love to know more about this if anyone has more info.
    Thanks.
