No signal, just says no service

Just had my nokia lumia 920 back from repair afterz it had bricked after a reset, now I can't get any signal yet when I put my SIM card in another phone it picks up signal, what's going on here?? Help, just won't it to work!

OK. Just to make sure, you have checked your Mobile Network settings, Flight Mobile, Location and the SIM card is in the right way etc.....? How does Wifi work?
Failing that, I'd phone P4U, not the branch, and tell them of your issue.
Tell them the phone returned in this condition to you from a Care Centre and now doesn't work.
Ask for a replacement as the phone is not fit for it's purpose and you are on a 2 year contract so don't let them fob you off.
You can go in branch and show them the issue you have, but you'll be told they must send the phone off to be looked at.
The fact that it's been to an NCC and come back broke should help.
Take whatever docs you need with you.
Sounds like you have a hardware failure of sorts to me though.

You have to set up international use with Verizon. Your phone is a CDMA version, which is a network type used in the USA. The rest of the world is on GSM type network.
Contact Verizon and have them set up your phone and out fit you with a SIM card.

But I will try to see if it works. The iPhone is supposedly factory unlocked btw. Anyways, when I put in my tmobile sim, it searches for the service, but it always ends up saying NO SERVICE. I checked that my network says that the "phone not allowed". So I don't have 3G on this phone I presume. I heard that you need 3G to have service is that correct? But how do I resolve it? The iPhone does know that my phone carrier is tmobile. It just says no service. And I've tried restoring it three times and turning it off and on and it won't work. If a phone is sold from one friend to another and wants to use it on a different carrier the friend can contact the carrier it was sold by to request it unlocked. I know AT&T, Verizon, and Sprint will give you the steps to unlock it as long as the original contract it was bought under has been completed. eBay/Craigslist is really not the best place to try to get "unlocked phones" from, if it turns out the phone isn't unlocked then I'm really sorry you got stuck with that one and as stevejobsfan said above I would report them immediately and see if you can recover your money. I recently bought a secondhand iPhone 5 from my girlfriend which was locked to the Vodafone UK network. I'm currently with Virgin Mobile UK so I looked into getting the iPhone unlocked to use with my current SIM.
I came across a seller on eBay who unlocks iPhones and has very good reviews, so I purchased an unlock request through them. Yesterday morning I received a message from the seller informing me that the iPhone was ready to be unlocked and gave me instructions on how to complete the process.
When I connected the iPhone to iTunes, I was greeted with the "Congratulations, your iPhone has been unlocked" message. However, when it comes to inserting a SIM from a different network, it just says "No Service" in the top left of the screen.
I've seen quite a number of threads about this issue and I've tried several different methods of resolving it. I have tried:
Trying multiple SIM cards (it will work with the Vodafone SIM I have but not with ones for other networks)
Toggling Airplane Mode on/off
Resetting the network settings
Erased all content and settings
Restored the iPhone via iTunes (iTunes is up-to-date)
I'm quite stuck on what to do now. I've contacted the seller who's assured me that the phone is unlocked and send me a "GSX Report" (whatever that is). Any help or advice would be much appreciated.

Just wanted to give an update on this for those who may be experiencing the same problem.
I spoke to someone from Apple a few days ago who tried to help me resolve this. They confirmed that the phone was unlocked. After going through some of the fixes I've tried already, they suggested it may be a problem with the SIM cards I was using and recommended getting a brand new one to try.
I got my new nano SIM through from Virgin Mobile yesterday, transferred my number and contract across and now it's all working perfectly.
I'm not really sure why people on here were so reluctant to give me advice on what to do. When I told Apple that I got the iPhone unlocked through an eBay retailer, they didn't question it at all. They said nothing about it being hacked or that I should have gone through the carrier, and they assured me that the phone was completely unlocked.
Oh well. I'm glad it's working now. Thanks Apple!

still no joy i have been in to a local EE shop and got a new sim card its still saying No Service. what is the wait on a new sim card activation?

Right day 3 with this issue went agian in to a EE store last night on my way home and tested the issue phone with a working EE sim card and it worked fine (so the phone is fine and working). so the sales person had a look at the submissinon of the sim update (or activation) and the request has been put thought and was told to wait a few hours for it to refresh. So i waited a few hours and still nothing. so i called tech support i was told that there is a issue with my account this an issue that quite a few iphone users are having the lady on the phone said that this issue would be resloved this morning after 8am and still no signal (still saying no service). has any one got any update on when my service will be back to normal?

My brother's HTC contract ran out so he got an iPhone 5C last night. He didn't change networks or change his number and the salesman said that the new sim card he gave him would be ready to go when he put it in the phone with the same number etc. When he got it home he put the nano sim into the new phone but it just says 'no service' at the top left of the screen. Has anyone else encountered this?
He's tried restarting the phone and enabling/disabling aeroplane mode as other forums suggested.

I would suggest that just didn't happen call the Carrier customer support and find out the issue

Call your carrier and let them know you have an iPhone. Many, if not most carriers, require you have a plan provisioned specifically for the iPhone, including a data plan. If you don't have an account that's set up properly, you may not get service at all until they fix that.

Text messages are sent via the cellular network, not wi-fi. Only iMessages are sent via wi-fi. Unless you have roaming turned on for the phone, or you have an unlocked phone that you installed a local SIM, you would continue to see No Service. That reflects your cellular carrier service. Connecting to wi-fi has no bearing on your cellular service, which is what displays on the status bar of the phone near the signal bars (circles/dots).

hi sorry what happoned is that ages ago i brought a i phone 3gs on 02 network i went to a sml phone shop and payed for them to unlock it. it has been fine till yesterday when i went to reset it from the phone it then turned off and came back on just just an image of a apple for about an hour so i connected to i tunes and it said downloading software after another hr it had finished but then i tunes said in had to insert a sim so i had to un plug the phone from laptop while i did this i put my orange sim in and the i phone said where do i live and had to connect to a internet connection but all the time saying no service where the signal bar is and then says activating i phone it took a few min and said couldnt finish it bec of the signal and to connect it to i tunes to do it so i connected it to itunes and i tunes just keeps saying invalid sim so i took my orange sim out and put a 02 sim in and is still saying invalid sim on itunes?
