No Signal on random channels

Was wondering if anyone can help me. We've lost signal on certain channels today.
The BBC channels as well as Pick TV, Dave, Really, E4+1, Movie Mix, Create & Craft, Sky News have no signal. Haven't checked EVERY other channel but they appear to be working fine.
Is this a known issue? Can anyone advise me as to how to solve the problem.

Check your local transmitter for any work
Plug aerial into TV and check if they are available on that
Check connections
If still missing unplug aerial and scan for channels. Plug aerial in and rescan.
Still not fixed by any of the above check your aerial, boosters etc

Generating signal at particular channel of a connector in 7851 R-Series

I am trying to generate analog sinusodial signal at particular channel in connector 0 of 7851 R-series. I have created fpga vi and host vi and trying to send the signal to AO0. I am giving a simulated signal in host vi to the AO0 channel and trying to see at the physical port of terminal box of AO0 channel through oscilloscope. But I am not getting any signal there. But it is working fine for digital signal. Kindly give your suggestion where I am going wrong.

There are two things that I would do. First submit your project so that we can see what your code is doing and possibly spot any errors.
The second thing would be to check what hardware you are outputing too. Do you have some connector box? What cable are you connecting from your connector box to your fpga card at port 0? Is it an MIO cable or a DIO cable? if you have a DIO cable like the SHC68-68-RDIO then you won't be able to do analog input/output. If you have a SHC68-68-RMIO, then you will.

I'm getting signal leakage between channels on my 6062E

I'm getting signal leakage between channels on my 6062E. I'm using a 6062E with a SCB-68 connector block and a SHC68-68-EP cable. If I connect to just channel 1 but monitor channels 2 and 3 (haven't looked at any others) I'm picking up the signal in all three channels? Is this due to the cable I am using?

Jon,
This is expected behavior, you do not have a problem with cables or the connection block. If you don't want the channels to rail high (open circuit) with cross talk you will need to tie them down to ground using a 1K resistor (please see any of the DAQ card user manuals).

Airport signal drops randomly

I use Airport Express to connect to wireless Internet. Recently I've had this problem where the signal just randomly drops every few hours - if not every hour. Airport Express is showing a green light.
When I re-start my computer then it still won't show the signal bar at the top. So I basically have to turn-off the computer and unplug the Airport Express to get it work.
I don't have this problem when I use wireless at other places.
Any advice on this problem?

I think my problem is fixed. You see I was using my airport express as a booster to my linksys, which worked for over a year until recent OS X update.
The Fix:
Instead of just setting up my express to join an "existing wireless network" , which was my original set up....I opted to use the option "Creat a wireless network" and I gave it another name, and under WDS tap I enabled it as a remote base station and under the "main airport ID" I selected my linksys router. Using the airport express this way, now I have two network names, the name of my main linksys router, and the name of my air express. Of course you get a better signal from one versus the other one depending how close you are. You also need to manually switch to the one with stronger signal, but at least both of them work through out the house, and my airport express has not dropped of for 3 days now. It works. Not sure why, but I am glad it works. If you are using your airport express a signal booster or as a remote base, and you are having your signal drops off, try to set it up this way, and see if it works for you.
I hope apple can shed some light to this issue, and I hope this works out for you

Using two daqmx create channel to acquire signals in random

I am trying to acquire signals from PXI 4472 with two DAQmx create channels. The channel selection is random. For eg. first create channel i have ch. 0, 2, 4, and 6 and the other create channel is Ch. 1,3,5 and 7. This I can do, but the problem is that I need to write the acquired data in seperate files for each channels and that too in sequential order. How can I do that. I know i need to use the loop but how will I will select the channels from two different task.

Ok, here was my idea, I am not sure if it will work for you or not after looking at your VI.
You can use some of your subVIS that you made to make the path different for each file. But what I had in mind for the channels was what I did in the vi i attached. You can just repeat the process for each of the channels and you would know that they were saved correctly. You could also feed in the iteration number of the main VI while loop to have the binary files change sequentially (ie, data1, data2, etc).
Again, this may not be a route you want to take, you may have other ideas.
Ill try to work on it some more later, but I have to get back to work for now

Poor signal/loss of channels

Hello all. I recently lost BBC1 due to 'poor signal/lost connection' but all other channels (including BBC) were ok. The next day ITV1 channel lost due to same issue (but again, not all ITV channels). Checked aerial leads ok which they were. Just done factory reset after googling for advice and after scanning for channels again have lost numerous other channels, including 1-10 (first channel now listed is 11).
Any advice for me please? Please bear with me - I am not very technical!

Welcome to the forum. Purging the channel list can sometimes restore missing channels. Remove the aerial and do a channel scan, which will clear the list. Then replace the aerial and scan again.

Problems with signal strength with channels on Mux...

I've had a YouView box (Humax first gen model) for almost a week and i'm having pixelation/signal strength problems with all channels on Mux. Com5, Pick, Dave, Movie Mix and Really etc. My Vision+ box and TV are showing these channels without any problems. Any ideas?

I have a similar problem.
(But not on Crystal Palace Tx).
Switch to a poor channel. (Dave for example. This is one I have problems with).
Go to Settings, TV Settings, Freeview Signal Strength.
Now press the Info button to get extra information.
Note the UHF channel number, the channel is being received on.
Get the same channel information, on the other Freeview receiver you have.
In my case, the UHF channels are different.
I believe, the Youview box is pre-set to receive from a transmitter (and hence a UHF channel number), determined by a post-code and/or your address details.
Because my aerial is not pointing at the main transmitter for my post code, I get poor reception because the transmitter the aerial is pointing at, transmits Dave (MUX) on another UHF channel.
As confirmed by the other freeview receivers I have.
There doesn't seem to be a way to force the box to use any other UHF channel.
Any scan always comes up with the same one.
There is no manual setting.
I might be totally wrong, but I think this is another software bug.

No satellite signal on certain channels after changing boxes - getting nowhere with sky help

So I got a new sky box from sky and have been getting the No Satellite signal message on certain channels (i.e. Sky1 HD, Sky Atlantic and Sky Sports) since I changed the boxes. I have tried all the suggestions in the online help as well as through the call centre personnel who just repeat the same thing over and over. Can anyone please assist? To get things started: 1. Yes, the viewing card was paired.2. The input signals show OK for any channel that is possible to view. When you look at the input signal details for a non-working channel then Input 1 shows as NOT LOCKED and input 2 as OK.3. Communal dish and no problems in other flats.

It might be local interference. You'll have to switch off any wireless equipment in the room, and especially a wireless router, cordless phone base station and anything else that radiates signals. You should also unbundle ( if applicable ) your dish Input cables from anything else behind the box, in particular power leads. If you're using the white, pre-moulded cables from the likes of Homebase, B&Q etc, it might be an idea to replace them with good quality, double-screened cabling such as WF100 which you can buy online. Are you able to borrow someone else's HD box to test in your flat, or are you able to check out your own box on a non-communal setup?

WRT160N randomly reverts to g + 20mhz + random channel assignment

Every few hours or so (relatively random, also), this router will suddenly revert itself to these settings. I have the channel set to auto and the bandwidth set to auto (the only options available on this router for 802.11n) and it will do fine for several hours. However, after a while, it will suddnely revert backt to 20 MHz and g wireless. This will not allow my computer to connect to the network once it does this. Is this a firmware problem? I should also note that it does this whenever the power goes out or whenever the router is restarted.

Try upgrading the firmware of your Router and then Reconfigure it...
Go to website linksysbycisco.com/downloads.........insert model no of your router in serach tab......select proper version of your router........download the firmware file......save that file on desktop
Follow these steps to upgrade the firmware on the device : -
Open an Internet Explorer browser page on a computer hard wired to the router...
In the address bar type - 192.168.1.1...Leave the Username blank & in Password use admin in lower case...
Click on the 'Administration' tab- Then click on the 'Firmware Upgrade' sub tab- Here click on 'Browse' and browse the .bin firmware file and click on "Upgrade"...
Wait for few seconds until it shows that "Upgrade is successful" After the firmware upgrade, click on "Reboot" and you will be returned back to the same page OR it will say "Page cannot be displayed".
Now reset your router :
Press and hold the reset button for 30 seconds...Release the reset button...Unplug the power cable from your router, wait for 30 seconds and re-connect the power cable...Now re-configure your router...

Is it save to use digital output as a digital input signal for another channel

Hi all,
I know this is a stupid question, but I do not have other signal generator by hand. So what I want to know is, can I use the digital output signal of my USB-6001 as an input signal for the same device but on other digital port? I did not try out directly because I do not want to burn the device down......

I do loop backs all the time, especially in my test systems as a way of making sure my signal is making it to the UUT pin. I typically throw in a 10k resistor just in case, but I have never had an issue.

Convert mono signal to 2 channels of mono

Is there a way to convert a mono signal to stereo - I mean two mono tracks - in Final Cut Express?
I'm back to 3.5 because 4.0 doesn't include Soundtrack Pro.

Copy/Paste the mono track to another audio track directly below and then Select both; use Modify>Stereo Pair.
You will see little green facing triangles on the two tracks if you were successful.
Soundtrack Pro is only avaliable with FCS, you probably mean Soundtrack!!

Loss of Network signals and random internet access resulted in loss of my business

Iphone 4s is my first apple product, otherwise i am a android phone user, i wanted to give android a break and try apple for a change. Today is my first day with this phone. I am a business man and business calls to me are very important. I am deeply sadened to let apple management and others know that my first experience with apple was a sour one. First I had to cut down my sim to apple phone desired size as a result i am not able to insert the sim into other phones.; Now I am not able to make calls, every time i make a call i get call failed notice and the network bar just vanishes and reappears again. After trying a number of times i am able to make a call. No doubt the phone is costly but the loss of calls to my phone has cost me tremendously and i am very unhappy with your product as i am unable to switch to other phones. I have recieved a number of calls on my land line number, people saying my mobile number is unavailable. trust me, I will never use an apple product again if this problem is not fixed quickly, i will also discourage others not to buy your products.
I am now forced to give my contacts my new mobile number.

First, you are not speaking to Apple. This is a user to user forum.
Second, based on your description, this would appear to be entirely a carrier problem. You should be raising the issue with your carrier.
Third, getting your SIM replaced should NOT require that you change your number. If it did, you either have some kind of pre-paid service or the person who took care of you at your carrier is incompetent.
You should be talking to your carrier about these issues. There are widely reported problems of older Micro-SIM cards and cut SIMs not working properly in the iPhone 4S. As the iPhone 4S has been rolled out around the world, the problem seems to be rectified by obtaining a new Micro-Sim from your supported carrier AFTER the 4S is officially released there.
If you are using an unsupported carrier, all bets are off and the ONLY place you can really go for assistance is your carrier.

How to use multiple channels to sample one signal

I would like to use all channels on an AI-110 to sample the same signal in order to increase my sampling rate. (I have spare channels, not spare $$.) In hardware the channels are read sequentially so in theory I should be able to do this, but I'm having trouble reconstituting the signal. If I use FP Reads the timestamps seem to indicate the time of the read, not the time of the A/D conversion, so I can't tell which sample was taken last. FP-Advise on change seems ill-suited as well since consecutive samples may be the same on a certain channel, but the signal may have varied in the mean time on the other channels.
Any ideas how this might be done otherwise? The VI will run embedded on a cFP-2020 controller with LabViewRT v. 6.1.1.

I understand what you are trying to do and do not think it can be done with a single module. The timestamp on the FP-Read is all about when the vi returned the data and not when the A/D conversion occured. I just don't think that the A/D converter can keep track of the conversion time.
If you had multiple AI-110 modules, you could in theory connect your signal to individual channels on multiple modules and then sequence through the modules. The problem here would be the ground loops.

Thermocouple reading (w/ Built-in CJC Source) only works on random SCB channels

I am using LabVIEW 8.2.1, a PCI-6255 card, and an SCB-68 terminal block. I have a Type K thermocouple with a thermocouple calibrator which I am trying to measure. Here is the problem, first, using the attached VI, I have tried to read this TC using AI0. Everytime I use AI0 I get the error saying Built-In CJC is not available. When I use any other channel, this error disappears. The second problem, when I use a channel other than AI0, I am only able to successfully read the TC on random channels. For example, it only works on AI13 to AI15. For the channels that it does NOT work on, I am able to see the correct voltage through MAX, however the AI Read TC VI does not for some reason give an accurate reading.
Does anyone know why I would not be able to use AI0, and why I am only to use certain channels for this TC? This makes absolutley no sense and I have tried swapping the SCB, the DAC Card, and the cables. I have reinstalled drivers and LabVIEW also.
Please help this is driving me crazy!

Not sure if this helps you but...
Thermocouple reading are often differential measurements since they are typically very small values. To get differential readings two AI channels are paired up so half of the channels go away when you set things up for differential measurements. So could you double check the documentation for your device to ensure you are wiring the thermocoules properly? Correct pair, proper polarity, and proper TC type specified.

Hello,
The code you posted will work for generating two different signals on two channels. Please look to the to image I attached titled 2AO.JPEG for reference on how to setup the physical channel for two AO channels. I also modified the code to include an AI task (VI file attached titled 2AO1AI.vi).
I noticed you were using the SCXI 1180 feedthrough panel with a 1300 terminal block. Are you just using the SCXI 1180 for access to the pins on the cable coming from the 6281? Or are you using an SCXI chassis with other modules?
