No signal on the monitor after uopdating BIOS

1. HP Pavilion h8-1010, QN556AAR, 2MF116082M
2.Window 7 64-Bit
Hi,
I tried to update the latest BIOS for my computer and downloaded the latest BIOs version (2102 Feb version). I am sure the version I found is what I needed for my computer. I updated successfully according to suggestion from computer. After the computer suggest me to restart the compter, this when the problem occur. There is no signal to monitor after the computer started and it seems that there is no keyboard and mouse checking also during the starting process. I believe all collections are ok and monitor is no problem also.  I have got a black screen and the monitor suggest that no signal detected from both VGR and DIV.
I am not sure if someone can give advice on this problem?
Thank you so much and I lok forward to hearing from you.

I would say you need to clear your CMOS settings using the jumper on the motherboard. And if that doesn't help, you may have corrupted the BIOS... possibly making your computer a doorstop.

  • Fan is running on high speed, no signal to the monitor!

    Hi!
    I have the following Problem with my G5:
    It worked perfectly, but suddenly yesterday, I switched it on, it began just like always to boot the system, but i had no signal to the monitor.
    After a couple of seconds the fan started to run very fast and did not stop anymore (at least for then minutes, then I switched the G5 off, because it's annoying)! I've treid it again, but the same Problem occured...
    Has anyone else already had this Problem?
    What are the reasons for this, and how can i solve this Problem?
    Cheers, Markus

    Hello Markus, and a warm welcome to the forums!
    Boot off your original G5 Install Disk while holding down Option/alt key to select AHT, then run the extended Apple Hardware Test.
    Could be many things, we should start with this...
    "Try Disk Utility
    1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc that came with your computer, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
    2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
    Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.
    3. Click the First Aid tab.
    4. Click the disclosure triangle to the left of the hard drive icon to display the names of your hard disk volumes and partitions.
    5. Select your Mac OS X volume.
    6. Click Repair. Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk."
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=106214
    Then Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot.

  • How do i run an external monitor with my macbook and change settings so that when i close the lid the signal to the monitor is not lost and i can continue using the mac with a mouse and a wireless keyboard?

    How do i run an external monitor with my macbook and change settings so that when i close the lid the signal to the monitor is not lost and i can continue using the mac with a mouse and a wireless keyboard?

    No, nothing will prevent the computer from going to sleep when you close its display except third-party hacks that are designed to do exactly that. I strongly advise against using any of those, as they may interfere with successful entry into clamshell mode (and they carry other downside risks as well). Just wait until the computer is asleep (with its sleep light pulsing), then press any key on the keyboard. It sounds as though your setup is working as it's designed to do.

    I have tried with a wired USB keyboard and mouse using a single screen. Powered up with option pressed. No change.
    Reset SMC  no change

    Run the Apple hardware test to see what it tells you. Run the extended test when prompted, which can take awhile.

    Hello @davilea,
    I understand that you are getting a loud noise from your computer and a 'No Signal' message on your HP Media Center m7160n Desktop PC's monitor. As you have already replaced the power supply I will provide you with the HP Support document: Flat Panel Monitor Displays Message about No Signal, Signal out of Range, Sleep, or Power Save, which should help you resolve the 'No Signal' message.

  • No signal output on monitor after installin hyperx memory

    I bought 2 512 pc3200 cl2 184 kingston hyperX (KHX3200AK2/1GR)
    My mobo is msi k8n neo nvidia nforce 3 250gb chipset board
    I have cpu 3400+ amd
    I took out my 1gb of 2700 ddr333 to install my new ram ddr400 3200 hyperX kingston and when I turn on my computer, i get no signal in my monitor, i checked the cables, and what it does it goes black and then back to sayin no signal output on the monitor

    Replace monitor cable with a good one.  If machine still won't boot then...
    Follow Bejon's instructions carefully (remembering to remove power cord and waiting 3 minutes before opening case to reset cmos, then closing case after you have reset cmos as described in the user manual, and reattaching power cord after case is reclosed).  Once you can boot (with one stick of ram in slot closest to the cpu if you cannot boot with 2 sticks) hit "del" key to enter bios, select "optimized defaults", enter "cell menu", set dram/memory voltage to 2.75 (or higher if manufacturerer of HYPER X memory recommends more power - don't worry about flashing red warning, memory can handle it), then use "F10" and "yes" to save settings in bios.  Good luck.

    Hello, I'm from Russia.
    I did not understand in English, I apologize if that is not true.
    Why am I writing to you, the American forum on our Russian forum very rarely meet. I asked the question, but for a week no one answers.
    My problem is this:
    Hardware:
    Motherboard: MSI 790FX-GD70 (bought in November 2009);
    Processor: AMD Phenom II X6 1090T Black Edition OEM (bought in February 2011);
    Cooler: TITAN Fenrir TTC-NK85TZ/CS2 (bought in February 2011);
    Memory: KINGSTON KVR1333D3N9/2G CL9 - 4pc. (bought in February 2011);
    PSU: 850W CHIEFTEC BPS-850C PFC (bought in February 2011);
    CD drive: BD-DVDRW Black ASUS BC-08B1LT OEM (bought in February 2011);
    VIDEO CARDS: ATI Radeon HD 5770 1024M GIGABYTE HD5770 GV-R577SO-1GD (bought in December 2010);
    HDD: SATA 750GB WESTERN DIGITAL WD7501AALS (bought in December 2010).
    Today the whole day gathering brought together successfully checked everything - everything is connected, is also feeding on the video.
    Began to include a system, the fans and the cooler is round, light bulbs began to shine, too, turns on the video.
    But the problem is that the monitor does not output anything, black screen, even light does not change (on the monitor when there is a signal).
    Tried to connect both digital and analog cables - 0 of emotions.
    Please tell me what could be the problem?
    p.s. On the motherboard on display here, such data vary: d3 .. d5 .. d6 (very fast) ... FF and a red LED near the "reset" and winked so again. (Maybe it's something you tell)

    Like Henry said ,could be a BIOS that does not support that CPU ,99% probability.
    maks1192 ,get from a friend (druga) ,an older AM3 CPU and try to boot again with that one.
    Then use the MSI USB HQ Tool ,BIOS updating tool and update to latest version of BIOS.
    I m sure Svet will be able to help you directly

  • NO SIGNAL ON MY MONITOR AFTER MY COMPUTER SLEEPS

    Once I am finish working on my Mac, it will fall asleep and 9.5 times out of 10 when I return, the two monitors that I have connected to it say no signal, so I am forced to shut the computer down manually and restart it. Upon restarting, the monitors work great. I am under the impression that when I return to the computer and move the mouse or touch the keyboard, the computer should wake up. Any advice? Thanks,
    Denny

    It sounds like the Mac is waking up (since you need to "shut the computer down manually and restart it"), but the displays are not.  This forum category is for the PowerPC-based iMac.  iMacs can only connect one external display, so do you have a Power Mac G5?
    In System Preferences Energy Saver pane, what happens if you set Compuer sleep to Never and Display sleep to the desired setting?  If the computer itself does not go into sleep mode, do the displays turn back ON when you move the mouse or press a key?

  • Displaying to the monitor after installing via serial console?

    Hi Guys,
    We have a couple of X2100's and a dell sc1425. All were installed using null-modem cable to the serial port which worked fine. However, now I want the servers to boot and display to the monitor and use the keyboard for input. I've got 06/06 installed and it doesn't have any mention of output-device or input-device in the bootenv.rc file and makes no difference if I change output-device to 'screen'. Do I need to do the Xorg -configure @ single user mode?
    Cheers,
    Russle

    Just a thought, but try zapping the PRAM. Good luck.

  • Lost the monitor after connecting via DVI

    I've had an X2Gen 22" monitor connected to our G5 via DVI/VGA adapter to the VGA input on the monitor for a couple of years. Another monitor I just bought came with a DVI cord and a VGA cord. I decided to try the X2Gen/G5 connection via DVI since I now have a cable. The computer can't/won't recognize the monitor now that they're DVI connected. And screen images are ugly! I can't even calibrate it because the computer tells me it cannot identify the monitor. Any ideas anyone? (Other than going back to the VGA cable?)
    Thanks,
    Jon

  • Strange behavior of the monitor after latest update (solved)

    The new kernel seems to be working well except for one thing and I am not sure where the blame lies.  About once every 4 or 5 hours, the monitor screen goes blank.  If I hit any key it comes right back with nothing lost.  Minor thing but kind of irritating.  It did not do this with kernel 2.6.29 but it has started doing this since I updated to 2.6.30.  As I said, not a biggie but it is irritating as it should not be happening.  I don't know if there is a mismatch with my GPU (NVIDIA 9600GT) or if the difference lies within the kernel itself.
    FInally it worked out right.  Thanks all for the suggestions.  Just had to give them time to work through.

    Change made.  For some reason there was no ServerFlags section in the generated xorg.conf.  I added it and then added these options to it.  We shall see if this stops the blanking of the screen.  I hope so.
    Thanks for the idea.

  • No signal after successful Bios and ME flash

    Hi everyone,
    I just build my first PC in about ten years deciding to get back into PC gaming but have encountered some problems.
    My Build:
    MSI Z87i-AC
    Intel G3258
    2 x 4GB HyperX Fury
    Antec 550vp PSU
    MSI Power OC gtx 670
    After I completed the build all seemed well. It fired up no problem and before long i was installing the OS. However during OS installation after the computer restarted i had no signal to the monitor. I left it like that for about 20 mins then just turned it off. When I booted it back up I had no problems and Windows had installed successfully. Anyway, to cut it short. The computer worked absolutely fine If i shut it down or turned it off but if I manually reset or reset after installing programs etc there was no signal.
    I found someone online with the exact same problem so I thought thats would be it sorted. Their solution, (from MSI Support was to update the BIOS and ME to support the Haswell refresh. After this the user's problem was resolved. So I followed the MSI instructions on how to update the BIOS and ME via Mflash and went ahead and done it. It didn't take long and the computer showed a message that the BIOS update was successful and would restart in five seconds.
    After the restart it was straight to a no signal screen and no matter what I've tried this is how it remains. The Usb ports don't supply power to my keyboard or usb sticks either. I'm completely stuck!
    I've tried switching the ram, using only one stick, a different PSU, with or without gpu etc but still just no signal.
    Like I said everything worked great (apart from not being able to restart) before the BIOS update. I was on BIOS 1.5 originally and updated to 1.9.
    Thanks for reading!

    Ok so I've tried clearing the cmos how you suggested and still nothing... I also tried various other methods from the forums but still just no signal.
    I'm completely stuck now as the only probably thing seems like the motherboard is dead  I don't think any other hardware could be the problem as it worked fine until the bios flash.
    Should i just RMA the board and go for something else?
