No signal on tv

Hello,
After I cleaned the computer with AppCleaner, there is no more signal on TV. Wheras it worked perfectly before.
I checked with another HDMI cable, another TV but it still does not work. "No signal" is displayed on TV.
Would it come from the MiniDisplay-to-HDMI adapter or from the computer by removing something I should noyt have removed ?

Macbook silver linked to the TV from the MiniDisplayPort via an adapter to the HDMI plug into the TV

I had the same problems with my dv8t laptop.
I unplugged and replugged in the hdmi at both ends, still nothing.
And it just started happening out of the blue. It always worked fine.
Then I plugged it in to the tv's hdmi 2 input, and voila- it works.
Don't know why, but I'm happy it works.

    I just bought a macmini,the last generation. Separately I bought on the apple store a mini dvi to vga adapter because when I bought the macmini I forgot to buy that....once the adapter arrived I tried to turno on the mini,everything seems to be normal,the mini works,the audio signal is normal and after the startup it asks me to choose the language,but the screen says there's no INPUT SIGNAL. I tried another mini dvi to vga adapter,the vga wire works with my pc so I didn't try another one,I tried the reset of the mini,nothing....do I have to try with "miniport to vga" adapter or is there something else I can try?

    I got my Mac Mini yesterday and I am having the exact same problem as you are having.
    I've tried on two different TV's but it is just not sending a signal. Is it faulty?

    Did you check the Zoom setting?
    Have you tried a reset (reboot)? Hold HOME and SLEEP until an Apple logo appears.
    If it isn't Zoom and a reboot doesn't help try Settings/General/Reset - Reset all settings

  • No signal via DVI to VGA adapter on my video projector Sharp PGM 15X

    I have a big problem with my video projector. It´s connected via mini DVI to VGA adapter to
    the projector. The problem is, Mac OSX decect the projector but there is no picture.
    To resize the solution on both, or one of them doesn´t help.
    When I use my Bootcamp and reboot with Windows XP there is a picture on the video projector.
    I cant believe this.
    What should I do to fix this problem?

    I got my Mac Mini yesterday and I am having the exact same problem as you are having.
    I've tried on two different TV's but it is just not sending a signal. Is it faulty?

  • Mini Displayport to vga adapter on MacBook pro 13" late 2011. No signal on external monitor

    Connecting a Late 2011 MacBook Pro 13" to an external monitor, trough mini Dispalyport to vga adapter, i see "no signal" messagge on external monitor, even if i get it as secondary monitor on Preferences > Monitor of my MacBook it's visible (i can change resolution, position, clone screen, ecc.).
    Any suggestion? somebody found the same problem?

    i did what you said and tried with other resolution/refresh rate combinations, also with anoter external monitor (and vga cable) but its still the same: monitor is detected but there's no signal.
    Now I will try to chek if the adapter works on other pc and monitor.

  • Mini DVI to VGA cable doesn't send signal to the projector

    I just received a mini DVI to VGA adapter cable today.
    I connect mini DVI side of cable into my Macbook v. 4.1 and connect the other side into DGA cable, which connected to LCD projector.
    When I connect the cable to my Macbook, the opened application streched out to a full screen (seems like computer detets the cable) but projector says 'no signal'.
    Can any one tell me what is wrong it is?

    I'm still stucked.
    By reading some articles, it says even using mini DVI adapter, the signal is still digital and if the projector doesn't accept digital signal then it's no use....
    My projector is Epson EX3200 and it doesn't have any DVI or HDMI input.
    Does this mean my projector doesn't accept a digital signal?
    But, but, but if even uing mini DVI adapter cable it still doesn't conver to analog signal then why they call the cable a mini DVI to VGA cable???
    Why should this world be so complecated.....

  • Report generation toolkit and signal express user step : problem of closing reference in "Stop" event

    Hi all,
    I'm trying to make a package of Vis to easily make Excel reports with Signal Express. I'm working on LabVIEW 8.2.1.
    I'm using the report generation toolkit, so I build a .llb from my project which contains all the hierarchy of my steps, but also the hierarchy of dynamic VIs called.
    I have made some steps, like "Open Workbook", "Write Data", etc.
    My steps run well, excepts one step : "Close Workbook".
    If my "Close Workbook" step is firing on "Run" Signal Express event, I have no error, so my reference is properly closed.
    But if my "Close Workbook" step is firing on "Stop" Signal Express event, I have an error "1", from "Generate Report Objectrepository.vi".
    I feel that I'm trying to use a reference which has been killed in the "Stop" step...
    I would like to know what exactly do Signal Express on "Stop" event and why my close function does'nt run well.

    Hi Callahan,
    SignalExpress (SE for short) does the following on the Stop event:
    1. Takes the list of parameters that SE found on your VI's connector pane, and sets the values that the user set from the "Run LabVIEW VI" configuration page, if any.
    2. Then tells the VI that SE is running the Stop event by setting the Enum found on your VI's front panel. This in turn should produce some boolean values telling your VI to execute the Stop case.
    3. The VI is then run, with those values and states.
    4. SE checks to see if any errors where returned.
    5. Since this is the Stop event, SE releases the reference to the VI which it possesses.
    Questions for you would be, is the reference to your Workbook linked to a control on your connector pane, or held in a uninitialized Shift Register. If it's held in a Shift Register, SE would not be aware of it, and would not be able to affect that reference.

  • Timing control signal and data acquisition

    I have a series of relays which when activated will close different elements of a circuit and I also have a sourcemeter(Keithley) sending a constant source current and reaing the voltage back.(But when no relays are closed the circuit is open and no source current flows )
    I have a microcontroller(pgmmed for 9600 baud rate) based hardware circuit which closes different relays sequentially based on the input it recieves from labview pgm passed on through a Rs232 cable(9600/8 bit/no flow control)
    So i made a sequence structure of sending signal to microcontroller signal then wait for the signal transmission and realy activation and then read the voltage value form keithley sourcemeter back to labview thro a GPIB cable.
    These three events are reapeated sequentially in a while loop. 
    A schematic picture is attached.
    BUt the problem I ma facing is the maximum speed of reading is limited to 200msec/reading even thought the relay activation time is as low as 30 msec.
    I tried with many different delay times (140-60 msec...but more or less each reading takes up 200msec irrespective of the delay time..) 
    What could be the bottle neck is it the Rs232 setting at 9600 baud rate..can changing that to higher baud rate/including flow control solve this problem?

    Probably not.  It sounds like the Keithly VI is taking 140 msec.  You can try opening that up to see if there is anything in there that could be causing an unnecessary slowdown.  But trying to tighten it up too much may cause occasional errors (such as timeouts) in trying to get a response back. 
    But surprisingly I tried displaying the actual timer value at the start and at the start of sourcemeter read function ..but the display of both indicators is almost equal with little difference of only 10 msec.?????  I'm not sure which of the several timers you are referring to here.  What is the value going into the wait function between the VISA write and the Keithly VI?
    When you do benchmarking, the timer functions should be in a frame all by themselves.  Having it mixed with another function or VI causes a bit of uncertainty as to when the time was taken.  For instance, you dont' really know if the Keithly VI was started before the time was taken or after.  (The time was probably taken first, but without a data flow or sequence structure dependency, you can't be sure.)

    We are running Oracle Applications version 11.5.10 on Oracle RDBMS 9.2.0. and IBM AIX 5.3 o production system and AIX 5.2 on test machines. We have made a new clone of production database on test machine and after installation of a clone on test-machine all customized reports terminated with signal 4 error.
    Can anybody tell the possible causes of signal 4 errors and their remidies ?

  • Can no longer connect to internet w/ cell signal - advice?

    Hi, all -
    I can no longer access the internet using a cell signal on my Droid 3. Everything was working fine until about a week ago, but now I get no 3G signal at all and only one or two bars. When I turn on the WiFi, I have no trouble accessing the internet. I can make calls with no problem, but cannot access the internet or my apps.
    I have tried the following, but I am still not getting a usable wireless signal:
    ·        -  Restarted device several times
    ·       -  Turned “airplane” settings on and off
    ·        - Removed battery, replaced it and restarted
    ·        -  Dialed *228, then option 1 to activate service
    ·        - Dialed *228, then option 2 to reprogram service
    Does anybody have any other ideas? I REALLY do not want to use the "nuclear" factory reset option unless absolutely necessary!

        dmiller28, being without data is very difficult! Your efforts are greatly appreciated and you are on the right track with the troubleshooting steps. Have you tried checking the network settings in the device? To do this you will go to: menu>settings>wireless and networks>network mode and check if it is set to CDMA. Otherwise the next step is to do the factory reset which will be the last resort option. Keep us posted, thanks!

  • My Ellipsis 8 can no longer detect my gym's wifi signal. Please help!

    I used my Ellipsis 8 to watch Netflix over the open wifi signal at my gym for 2 months with no problem. One day I showed up and no signal was found. I went through all the trouble shooting steps all the way down to factory resets with no resolution. Called Verizon tech support and still nothing. They had me send them the tablet in a recovery box. One week later I have the tablet back and they said nothing was wrong with the unit. I went to the gym today and it still can not detect the signal. My Samsung phone picks up a very strong signal. No other people have reported a problem with wifi connection issues. Obviously Planet Fitness will not allow me to start messing with their router. Any suggestions would be GREATLY APPRECIATED!

    I understand the importance of ensuring you are able to get connected to wifi michaeltatham. Allow us to get to the bottom of your tablet concerns. Have you recently installed any new software or new applications when it stopped connecting to the gym wifi? Have you tried to connect another device to your gym wifi?

  • Iphone 5s not picking up home Wi-Fi and/or very poor signals even in downtown area

    Switched to Verizon and bought IPhone 5s less than 3 weeks ago. It was fine the first week then suddenly it won't recognized my home wi-fi and got very poor wireless signal. I have my old IPhone 4s and it works fine like a charm for wi-fi. It keeps reloading and not pop up any wi-fi signals. I went to the mall and normally it should pop up multiple wi-fis but it didn't. However my ipad did. I keep trying to reboot it or even reset it to factory settings and still doesn't work. Then yesterday my calls keep dropping in the middle of business conversation. This is unacceptable and no one seems to be helpful at Verizon. I even took screen pictures throughout the day yesterday to show when suddenly my home wi-fi popped up and a minute later it disappear. This also a domino effect for my photo stream, icloud back up, and most importantly my data plan. Now I can't even use my paid home wi-fi and use up all my data plan with Verizon and none of them care. I almost feel like switching to other providers. I also see that this is somewhat common to IPhone 5s with their troubled software or signal chip but not getting help from Verizon is the worst.

    I downloaded the Speedtest app on my iPhone and iPad and would randomly test one right after the other. I accumulated about 5 tests a day on each device over the course of 3 days. I set up an appointment at the Genius bar. I told the Genius that I set up my phone as new and then showed him my comparisons of the Speedtest on both devices. He handed me a new (non-refurbished because it hasn't been out for long) phone, no questions. Apparently it was a hardware issue and not an iOS 8 bug.

    Can I save data (in txt or excel format) from a snapshot from signal express 2013 LE?  My data buffer is too larege to export to excel.  When I try to take a snapshot, I do not see any data.  Are snapshots supported in the LE mode?  This is the free version that comes with the USB 6009 ADC.

    Yes, the snapshot function is available for SignalExpress 2013 LE. Does the snapshot function as intended when you try other projects?

  • Iphone 5, Perdendo Sinal (Losing Signal)

    Bom dia, estou com um grande problema, estou com um iphone 5 64GB que foi comprado através de um anúncio que ví na internet, marquei com a pessoa e testamos tudo, acontece que o aparelho é importado e não tem NF, e estava tudo funcionando na hora, voltei para casa e estava normal, durou apenas algumas horas, pois o aparelho de forma aleatória, cai o sinal da rede e fica em tempo variável "BUSCANDO.." leva em torno de 30 minutos a 1 hora para voltar ao normal, fica algumas horas funcionando e acontece o mesmo problema, "BUSCANDO.." as vezes acontece de hora em hora. Não consigo mais contactar a pessoa que me vendeu.
    Acontece que procurei tudo sobre EMEI, BLACKLIST, e não consegui chegar a uma conclusão, o aparelho ao inserir seu Nº de série no site da Apple, leio a mensagem : Desculpe-nos, mas este é um número de série de um produto que foi substituído.
    Já testei Claro, Tim, Nextel, todas acontecem a mesma coisa, vamos aos fatos, se fosse problema de EMEI ou BLACKLIST o telefone poderia funcionar tantas horas seguidas sem apresentar problemas ? Pois quando está com sinal funciona tudo, Dados, VOZ, SMS.
    Já resetei inúmeras vezes todas as configurações, já restaurei o iphone, passei grafite no chip, tentei "N" coisas.
    Caso fosse algum problema da antena ou outro componente ligado a recepeção de sinal, porque funcionaria tantas hora e de forma aleatória apresentaria esse problema ?
    Sou do RJ, e tem uma loja APPLE oficial aqui agora na BARRA, estou pensando em levar o aparelho ainda essa semana e tentar explicar isso, mas acontece que estou meio cabreiro do status desse aparelho, e fico com medo de eles bloquearem meu aparelho permanentemente e eu em conseguir mais usá-lo.
    Ví também que tem muitas pessoas com seu EMEI bloqueado sem motivo algum.E outras que ao colocar o chip da OI funciona todos iphones 5 sem problemas, alguma alma nobre para tenta ajudar ? A única solução de imediato é tentar colocar um CHIP OI para testar a ocilação de sinal, e caso não, teria que levar a própria loja apple.

    Good morning , I have a big problem , I have a 64GB iPhone 5 that was purchased through an ad I saw on the internet , marked with the person and test everything that happens the machine is imported and has NF , and everything was working at the time , came home and was normal , lasted only a few hours , as the machine randomly drops the network signal and is variable in time " SEEKING .. " takes around 30 minutes to 1 hour to get back to normal , is a few hours working and the same problem happens , " SEEKING .. " sometimes happens hourly . I can not contact the person who sold me .
    It turns out that I sought all about EMEI , BLACKLIST , and could not reach a conclusion , the apparatus when entering your Serial on Apple's website , read the message : Sorry, but this is a serial number of a product that was replaced .
    Have tested course , Tim , Nextel , happen all the same, here's the facts , if problem EMEI BLACKLIST or the phone would work so many hours without presenting problems ? For when is it works with signal , data, voice , SMS .
    Have reseted all settings numerous times since restored the iphone , I graphite on chip , tried to " N " things .
    If it was a problem of the antenna or other component connected to recepeção signal , because it would work so many hours and randomly present this problem ?
    'm RJ , and has an official APPLE store here in BAR , I'm thinking of taking the set later this week and try to explain it , but it turns out I'm kind of suspicious of the status of this device , and I'm afraid they block my device permanently and I get to use it more .
    Also saw that many people have locked their EMEI algum.E no reason other than to put the chip HI 5 iphones all works smoothly , some noble soul to try to help ? The only immediate solution is to try to put a CHIP HI to test the oscillation signal , and if not , would have to take the apple store.

    Toggle airplane mode: Tap Settings, turn airplane mode on, wait three seconds, and then turn off again.
    Restart your iPhone.

    Check for a Carrier Settings Update: Tap Settings > General > About.
    Check for an iOS Software Update: Tap Settings > General > Software Update. 
    Note: Some updates may require a Wi-Fi connection.
    Remove the SIM Card and reinsert it. Allow the iPhone to acquire the network again.
    If your SIM card has SIM PIN enabled, try turning it off: Tap Settings > Phone > SIM PIN.
    Try another location. If a different location works, but the original location still doesn't, contact your carrier to report the issue.
    Reset network settings: Tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
    Restore the iPhone as new.
    Contact your carrier to:

    Since I've instaled the Airpor express, everithing connected to it works properly, My wifi network signal is good and I able to browse with my mac air, bu with my I-phone 4S even though the signal apears to be good and on the it shows is connected to my wifi network I can't open any web-site, instead I keep getting the same message: "Cannot Open Page - Safari could not open the page because the server stopped responding.", wich is not true because I'm connected with my lap-top. The sound wifi system works perfectly but reggarding the wifi on my 4S I've tried changing through different chanels on the Airport (I saw people were having the same problem and aparently by changing the channels on the Airport the internet on the phone worked properly, but I'm still stuck with a brand new I-phone unable to opem my pages) I've also tried changing the Radio modes and still nothing.
    Any suggestions?

  • I can call out but all incoming calls are going directly to VM with no signal that I missed a call or have VM. I can send/receive text messages from other iPhone/iPad/iTouch users, I am assuming this is really "iMessage." Is it apple software?

    I have spent hours on the phone with Apple and AT&T. I went thought reset, on/off, etc, etc with both companies to no avail. Each company pointed fingers at the other....as being the source of the problem.
    Problems: Suddenly ALL  incoming calls were going directly to VM with no signal I missed calls and/or had VM. I was also unable to receive all Text Messages...Oddly, I could send text messages to anyone (even non-apple users but I could not receive their responses)........then I when I got home I started receiving text messages from other apples users ONLY. I assume now - iMessage kicked in and I could text (send/receive)  other iPhone/iPad/iTouch users ONLY. ....yes, I could still (send) text messages to my husband's blackberry (he received my messages fine) but my phone would NOT receive his text respones.
    Finally, I googled the problem and found this community where other people have had the exact same problems! One person said he "turned off 3 G" which was the solution for him....so I did the same and VIOLA! My problem  solved! Nevermind the fact that I pay for 3G and cannot use it....so here's my question, if 3G is the problem on my phone is this an APPLE issue or a NETWORK problem? Do I purchase a new phone and slip in my same SIM card and hope the same does not occur or do I get a whole new SIM card and phone? What is the long term resolution to this problem?
    I am happy however to find that my problem is NOT an isolated incident and wish Apple or AT&T had told me this is not so uncommon because I thought (based on the baffled response from Apple) that this has never occurred before.  Where is Steve Jobs when we need him?
