No Signing with Reader XI in Win 8?

I have Adobe reader XI on my Win 7 laptop, and can sign documents from there with no problem. However, I downloaded the same exact program for Adobe on my Win 8 pc, and there is no option to sign, nor is there a place to add it. I went through the support files and opened file in the tools section, but there is no option to check to add signing. What now?

It's a strange thing, but there seem to be a number of people reporting this - that the Sign button just disappears - but no obvious solution to it. I have a radical idea, but it could be worth a shot. Well, I assume you have the English version of Adobe Reader, because apparently it isn't there in non-English versions.
There is a nasty piece of malware (rootkit/virus) going round that shows itself up because it breaks Adobe Reader. It breaks it in a completely different way to this, but I wonder if this is actually the same problem.
There is a solution which has worked for many in http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/reader-core-dll-error.html, step 2. Be sure you have a good backup first!
Please let us know the result, whatever it is, so this can be looked at for the many people with the same problem.

  • Problem when signing with Reader 11.0.08

I tried to sign using stylus for Reader 11.0.08. However, it requires double-tap to activate when signing the PDF doc.
It is difficult for people to sign with multiple strokes (lift up the stylus for space or separating names).
In Reader 10.1.4, user can sign much easier (not have to active with double-tap).
Is there any setting in Adobe Reader or editing in Adobe Pro version to fix this issue?

I use Lenovo IdeaPad, Yoga 11S, with non-digitized stylus(similar to this).

Do you know if any setting is set for this since version 10 works better than version 11?

  • How do I digitally sign with reader XI when the fill and sign functions are grayed out?

I am using Adobe Reader XI. I am suppose to digitally sign a fillable .pdf document for online submission. However, the fill and sign functions are grayed out.
What are my options to put a signature in the signature box of the document?
    Thank you in advance!

    Pat Willener,
    Thank you for replying.
Here is an image capture of the properties.
The document is part of a job application that is suppose to be digitally signed and submitted soon. I have thought about printing, signing, and redigitizing to submit, however, the cells are statically sized and do not expand to include all of the information when printed.
    Any suggestions will be appreciated.

  • Adobe Reader 11.0.2 signing with OCSP embedding?

These days, I've been testing Adobe Reader 11.0.2 signing with OCSP embedding, and the following was unclear:
    1. If there is CRL file in Adobe  Reader 11 CRL Cache (C:\Documents and Settings\<user>\Application Data\Adobe\Acrobat\11.0\Security\CRLCache), then OCSP is not embedded in e-signature, but CRL is embedded. How can I configure Adobe  Reader 11, so that signature doesn't have embedded cached CRL, but OCSP for end-user certificate?
    2. Why doesn't Adobe Reader 11 display full OCSP certificate chain? Adobe Reader 10 displays full OCSP certificate chain. You can see attached picture:
    Dragan

Both of these problems are also in the Adobe Acrobat Reader DC 2015.007.20033. The first problem on the Windows 7 computer can be resolved by deleting the CRL Cache (before signing) in the following location: C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Acrobat\DC\Security\CRLCache.

  • Cannot open digitally signed PDF's with Acrobat but can with Reader.

My users have PDF files that have been digitally signed by other users.
When opening these files with Adobe Acrobat Pro, it crashes the application.- a generic referenced memory error on some systems, a DDE server error on others, or a font capture error on others - not sure why the discrepancy there.
The files can be opened with Adobe Reader with no error.
We are at Acrobat 9.4.5 and Reader 9.4.5
I have uninstalled and reinstalled Acrobat Pro 9 and verified the same result with Pro 9.0 so it isn't the version or an update.
I have verified this on multiple machines. - I have even installed both pro and reader on one machine and verified that I could open the PDF file with Reader but not Acrobat Pro.
We can open other PDF files with no problem.
I have tried disabling as much of the security options as possible but still get the same result.
If I clear the PDF file fields (including the signatures) in Adobe Reader then it can be opened in Adobe Acrobat Pro.
Does Acrobat Pro authenticate the digital signatures differently than Adobe Reader?
Thank you in advance for your time.

    Hi J.O.S.,
Regarding your question "Does Acrobat Pro authenticate the digital signatures differently than Adobe Reader" the short answer is no.
However, there are other things that Acrobat can do with a file that Reader cannot, so there could be an operation that Acrobat is trying to execute (other than signature validation) which is causing the crash. You don't see it in Reader because Reader doesn't know how to do whatever the offending operation is.
That said, can you send me the file that is crashing Acrobat to [email protected] and I'll see if I can figure out what is amiss.
    Thanks,
    Steve

  • Signing a document with Reader XI

I'm trying to sign a document with Reader XI; I can create the signature and then drag it to place it, but then it just disappears. Any ideas?

    Hey Jamie0404,
Please let me know what version of Adobe Reader are you using. Is it the latest on i.e. 11.0.10?
    Have you tried repairing Reader?
Are you using Reader on an iOS or a desktop?
    Hope to hear from you.

  • My itouch is frozen on the itunes sign with the charger cord going into it. I have tried to restart hold down the two buttons but nothing changes. When I plug it into itunes it doesn't read it and I ran that test and nothing changes...HELP PLEASE!

Frozen itouch with the itunes sign with the charger going into it.  I have held down both buttons for 10 seconds I have re ran the tests but itunes doesn't read it still

Put your phone in DFU mode. Connect it to itunes and hold down the power and home buttons at the same time for ten seconds. Then while keeping the home button pressed let go of the power button. Keep holding until a message pops up saying your phone is in recovery mode. Then sync it back up. This will erase everything from ipod and restore it back from itunes.

I upgraded to iOS 7 to my ipad using iTunes. When signing with the Apple ID I get an error reading "There was a problem connecting to the server" anyone who knows what to do next

Sounds more like you have a problem with your apple id. For starters go to that page click manage my apple id and singn in. If you can't sign in reset password.
    https://appleid.apple.com
if you can sign in there, try to sign in to itunes on your computer.

  • Adobe Reader Sign with Certificate

    Hi Guys,
I am using Adobe Reader and as well Adobe Acrobat XI Pro. I have setup the sign with certificates successfully. We noticed when a person signs a document it marks a green tick on the document and says it is signed. But when we send the signed document via email to other person, and when the other person opens the documents it says "There is an issue with the certificate"
Can you please assist in fixing the issue?
Why is this happening in both Reader and PRO?
    Thanks
    Babar

    Hi,

Updated my iphone4 with ios6.1 software. App store is not working. Tried rebooting, restoring, changing date, signing with another apple id etc. but no luck. can someone please help?

I guess I will wrap this up. I have abandoned iPhoto and viewing my Photo Streams using it and moved to Adobe products (Bridge + PS). So that's that.

  • Since changing our computer I have been unable to download ebooks to my Reader Library I get a message Some file types associated with EPUB files are not associated with Reader Library; Waterstones suggest that I may have accidentally created a new Adobe

When I try to download them from the Waterstones website I get a message saying:
‘Some file types associated with EPUB files are not associated with Reader Library.  Do you want to associate them now?  When I reply yes I get another message; ‘Configuration error unable to update EPUB files check network firewall and try again’.
The ‘books’ are saved in the Download directory and I can’t transfer them from there to my E-Reader. I have not had any problems before, it was very simple; I saved the download and it automatically went into the Reader Library.
I contacted HP and they said it is a software error and suggested I contact Waterstones.  I contacted Waterstones Customer Support and got the following response:
As the error message is specifically mentioning the firewall it does sound like something in the firewall settings is stopping the download from taking place correctly. However, the files should not be being saved to the Download folder. It would be worth trying again by going to your Digital Order History on your Waterstones.com account and pressing the download button, and then making sure to press "Open" not "Save". When you press Open rather than Save it should give the option to open the file with Adobe Digital Editions. If the firewall message still comes up then I'm afraid something is blocking it on your end.
If the above "Open" download method works but you then still get an error message it could possibly be that you have accidentally created a new Adobe ID when setting up on the new computer, rather than signing in with your old Adobe ID. It would be worth trying the aforementioned download technique again first, but if problems did still persist it would be worth calling Adobe themselves on 0207 365 0735, as they should be able to sort out any account issue.
In response to the first para of Waterstones email I already do what they suggest I do press ‘Open’ not ‘Save’ but I don’t get the open with Adobe Digital Editions (we have installed Adobe Digital Editions on the new computer. Waterstones say we may have ‘accidentally created a new Adobe ID when setting up the new computer’ does that mean that we shouldn’t have installed Adobe Digital Editions on the new computer as it would have already been there? How do I sign in with my old Adobe ID?

Hi all after attampting to get some supoport from adobe by phone.... nice people infurating policys as far as support for digital editions or DRM is conserned... However I got no where with support.
I ended up instaling Digital editions on my desktop PC and going through the motions of registering and borrowing a book then returning it. Then I trying on my iPad, Bluefire worked, Over drive did not so I completely removed Overdrive and reinstalled and re registered. all working now.
Maybe some one at adobe did something. Maybe the install of the adobe DE client on a PC corrected what ever was out of wack with my account. Mayby the server that my account lives on did a scan disk and corrected a bad clustrer.
What ever happend My account is actiove and working again. hope this helps others.

  • I am using a new imac with osx lion 10.7.5 and have bought a copy of Apple iLife 11 on dvd a so that I can install iWeb and idvd, when I click on install iLife I get a message saying "iLife.kpg was signed with an invalid certificate

I am using a new imac with osx lion 10.7.5 and have just bought Apple iLife 11 on dvd so that I can install iWeb and iDVD, as macs no longer ship with these apps. When I click on install iLife I get a message saying "iLife.kpg was signed with an invalid certificate.
Next problem is that when moving through the installer and get to custom install, as I only want to install iDVD and iWeb, I am presented with the option to install iDVD, Sounds & Jingles and iWeb, but not sure what is going on with the other 3 options iLife Support etc, they seem to be greyed out but still look like they may install over the top of the newer versions already on my imac. Is it ok for me to just go ahead and hit install? Or do I have a problem?

Yep, just install iDVD (plus sounds and jingles) and iWeb if you want it (but note that iWeb apparently won't work if you upgrade to Mountain Lion).
Then use Software Update to get any late iDVD updates.
