No sim card found??

ever since the 2.0 update my phone has mysteriously been popping this message up sometimes when i try to make call or send a sms message?? i can do a reboot and my service comes back but have had to do it about 4 times in last two days, anyone else have this problem and know of a solution??

Try popping the SIM out with a paperclip and making sure the contacts are clean. I get this sometimes too (though not often), and this is normally what I have to do. My SIM is getting worn out (there are drag tracks across the contacts).

  • Just got my iphone5 and had it activated at verizon. I made 1 call and recd 1 call. i tried to make another call and it is telling 'no sim card found'.....any suggestions

just got my iphone5 and had it activated at verizon. I made 1 call and received one call. next attempt to call, I recd a message 'no sim card found" any suggestions?

First of all, is this a GSM or CDMA iPhone? do you have a case? If not it could have been the Death Grip. Death Grip is where if you place your hand over the bottom left black line on the iPhone 4 and the signal will be reduced. Apple should have fixed it.

  • Droid 3 No SIM card found and various malfunctions

    Hi everyone,
I have had a Droid 3 phone for a few months.  When I first recieved my new phone from the retailer, it had some simple OS malfunctions like resetting my wallpaper and restarting a couple times.  It only lasted consistantly for a couple days so I didn't return it in the 15 day window they give.  However, if I am opening and closing the slide a few times, the wallpaper problem comes back.  Sometimes it does correct itself if I just turn off and turn back on.  Other times I have to reset.  And it will restart once in a while, but this doesn't bother me so much.  Still not the biggest problem I have though.
Starting yesterday it could not find my SIM card.  After searching online to figure out what that was and where it is located, I also searched solutions.  All places I looked said to try to shim a piece of paper between the card the bar that holds it.  That did not work.  Further advice said to call the manufacturer and have it replaced.  Am I able to do this?  I do not have insurance on this phone.  Would I contact Motorola or Verizon?
Also starting yesterday, the volume adjustment buttons started malfunctioning, they turn the phone on and off (main power is still there, just turns to sleep or awake).  Once I bring the screen back on and unlock it prompts voice command and shows my contact list.  Tried adjusting media sound and in-call volume too and it ends the app or ends my calls.
I'm not sure if the missing SIM card and the other problem are related or coincidence.  Or if the whole phone is a dud?  I'm very careful, no water damage, no dropping, but it can get beat up in my purse I suppose. I used to keep it in my back pocket until someone educated me about how bad that can be.
Any advice?  Specifically can I exchange phones???
    Thank you!
    Jen

    Hey,
I have a Droid 3 also, and have noticed the wallpaper thing.  I haven't found a cure for that one, but like you said, it is not the biggest problem.  As far as the Sim card, you can go into any Verizon Wireless store and they can replace the Sim card for you.  The only thing you need the Sim card for is for travelling overseas.  Now, this is not true for the Droid 4 or any of the other 4G phones.  The 4G requires the Sim card.  But try swapping it with a replacement from Verizon.  I do not think that is causing your other problems.  It sounds like some of the software may have become corrupt.  I would suggest backing up your data, contacts, etc and then wiping the phone back to factory settings and then reloading the Operating System software.  For more info on how to do this, go to this Verizon page at http://support.verizonwireless.com/clc/devices/knowledge_base.html?id=44747
I have wiped my device before and it doesn't take that long to reload.  It was a lot faster than wiping my old Blackberry.  I think that will get you back up and running smoothly.  Let me know how things go.

  • S2110 tablet, "no SIM card found" and modem replacement...need tech help pls!!!

    Hello!
I just found a way to recover Lenovo S2110/Vodafone Smart tab II 10 from bootloop.
    Here's the guide:
    http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2603726
BUT coming from an original Vodafone firmware I've lost 3g with the "SIM card not found" error.
After checkign partitions details and finding that the /dev/block/mmcblk0p1 is the modem, I've got it extracted from the original Vodafone firmware and replaced on my system, but nothing...still can't find the SIM card!
Is there someone with deeper technical knowledge that can give me any advice and suggestion ?
    Thank you in advance ;-)
    Have a nice day !
    *** nothing is impossible ***

Actually I suspect the SIM card was not detected even before flashing the Lenovo firmware over the Vodafone one !

    Hi Community,
Since last week, I got a T500 as my new company Notebook.
I noticed, that it has an internal HSPA Modem.
The first I did was to update the drivers and Lenovo Software. Now the Ericson driver Version is 4.50.6.0
As I try to establish a connection, it tells me "No Sim Card found". I tested it with my "3" UMTS Card and with a "Vodafone" Card from my colleague.
Hotline said there is no Sim Lock but no more Help from Helpdesk
Is there somebody in the community that has an idea?

  • Updated to iphone 4.3.1 and SIM card can no longer be detected

After updating to the new iphone software, I received the message "no SIM card found in phone". I then tried to do a restore through itunes, and received a message in iTunes that there is no SIM card in the phone. The phone itself has now become unusable. We'll be taking it in to ATT, as it is likely dead. Anyone experience this? We've only had our phones for 2 weeks. Any suggestions are welcome!
    Jennifer

Happily the phone was fixable. Took down to the provider, who ended up removing the SIM card and putting it back in--and guess what? It worked after that. I was then able to restore the settings, including the new system update, to my phone from my laptop.(I had backed it up before and after the update and before I did a reset). Who knows what caused the issue--I hadn't dropped it or anything like that. Hopefully just a fluke ...

  • Sim Card Not Found

Each day at random times my phone goes out stating Sim card not found. i was hoping there was a fix in todays update but of course no update. i have been travelling so i cannot back up etc. I have done the reset, the hard reset, and plug into the electric cord, and eventually it does come back but i miss the calls, messages etc. which happen durring this period. What is the fix for this?

If it is an iPhone 4 it is on the side. Bend a paper clip, insert it into the hole, push and the tray will come out. Pay attention to how the microsim is seated and be sure not to bend or damage the tray.

  • Found broken iPhone 5s. Anyway to find owner using sim card?

This thing is demolished, won't turn on and the screen is completely broken. The sim card is in perfect condition from AT&T. Is there anyway to locate the owner using the sim? Is there a sim card reader that I can buy? Any help with this would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Didn't say that. Here's what happens:
    1) doom_dude walks into an AT&T store with the phone.urn the phone in to AT&T.
    2) He tells them he found this phone, discovered that the sim is AT&T, and asks them if this phone belongs to one of their customers.
3a) If AT&T says "yes", doom_dude leaves the phone with them, walks out and lets AT&T contact the customer and organize whatever else is needed. Doom_dude is no longer involved.
3b) If AT&T says "no", doom_dude pursues other options that I cannot give.
    Simple.

  • HT1212 I found an iphone over one year ago. Its locked with a passcode. I kept waiting for the owner to call it. They never did. I went to ATT store today, they put a new sim card in it. but now itunes needs the passcode to reset it to factory settings.

Any workaround? Or, am I doing something wrong here?
    Thanks so much.

Sounds like you may be the owner of a new phone!  If you don't need or want it and no one claims it you probably can sell it. Check eBay to see what the going rate is.
You are to be commended for at least trying to find the owner. Many wouldn't.
    Best.

Try popping out the SIM card and turn off the phone.
Pop in the SIM card once again and turn on the phone, make sure that the SIM card is placed and seated perfectly in the tray!
Tell me how did you unlock your phone!?

  • Sim Card not being found on Passport

I have a new Passport which I like.
It is locked to Vodafone and I have a Vodafone Sim
First 10 days it was fine then the sim card was not being "found"
I tried two new sims and no luck.
It seems the device may be faulty.
I bought it from a private user on Ebay for which it was an unwanted upgrade.
How do I get it repared?

Ok. Since it was purchased from an non-official retailer on eBay, I don't know...

  • I found an iphone 4, its passcode locked, now erased after i charged it, no sim card?

I found this iPhone on Saturday morning, out by my house. (middle of now where! literally!) the phone was door nail dead. I charged it for about 20 minutes to see it i could find the owner, but it was passcode locked! I left it charging, when i saw it reached 100% i checked it again, and it crashed. I connected it to my itunes, and it could not read it. so i tried to restore it. (to get the numbers off of it. IMEI, and Serial.) No sim installed. this is weird, normally it wont work with out one, this one did, for a few seconds. i did find the sim card tray, just no card. ive been trying to find out how to find the owner, so i can give it back. Ive called apple, Its past the call hours, so no help. there is no apple store within 85 miles of where i live. ???? It is working now, albeit jailbroken now! but i now have the numbers. how do i find the owner? I put an ad on craiglist, but no one has identified it.

  • I baught a new iphone (no contracts) and i found a t mobile sim card inside of it ! What does it mean ?

I Found a t mobile sim card in my new iphone 6 but i baught it without a contract what does it mean ?

You don't have a lot of choices. There is no Apple presence in Lebanon, so if you want an iPhone then any phone you get will be gray market. The T-Mobile appears to be unlocked, so it will work on GSM networks. Among gray market phones the US Verizon phone would be a better choice, as it will support LTE (4G) in the Middle East. The other choice is to get a phone in a neighboring country where Apple does have a presence (KSA, UAE, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Jordan). The disadvantage of that, however, is that the phone will not have FaceTime, as those governments have banned it. So in summary, the phone you bought is probably the best choice.
There are likely independent shops that will repair the phone if it needs repair. Did the shop where you bought it offer a warranty?
EDIT: Added Jordan to the list of neighboring countries
