"No sim card" message on ipad
How do I get rid of the "no sim card" message on my ipad?
You get the "no SIM" message popping up when Wifi connectivity is lost on a 3G/4G capable iPad which has no SIM installed. Check your wifi set up for intermittent issues.

'No SIM card' message - Telstra, Australia
The 3G Telstra Australia connection in my WiFi-3G iPad drops off frequently and the message 'No SIM card' appears. The only option is to turn the iPad off and on; but I normally have to repeat it 3 times before it asks me to unlock the SIM card.
My iPad is 10 months old.
Any advice?By any chance do you have it in a case? If so remove the case and see if you still have the problem.
I was experiencing the same issue and solved it by purchasing a different case. It seems that the case I was originally using was putting pressure on the iPad and causing the no sim error. I have not had it happen since. This was on an iPad1 by the way. -

Bad SIM card crashing my iPad?
Although now I have an idea of this problem, but I'm still a little concerned.
I have an iPad 64gb 3g/wifi purchased last Aug, and I have been using AT&T and FET (a provider in Taiwan) micro sim card since, because I travel constantly so I have been swapping the 2 sim cards on regular basis.
About 2 weeks ago, as I'm flying to Anchorage, I inserted AT&T sim, it's fine at the beginning, but after a few minutes, I get a 'no service' on the top left corner, and then the ipad goes into recovery mode (displaying a USB icon asking me to connect to itunes), which I did.
Then itunes tells me that an ipad in recovery mode is detected, so I need to restore it..bla bla bla, and which I did too.
At the end of the restore process, itunes tells me that 'We're sorry, we're unable to continue with the recovery process, please contact apple or try again latter'
I've made multiple attempts, with and without any sim card, but keep getting the message.
So I made an appointment with Apple in LA, and I went there. They weren't able to recover it as well, and since there're some dent on the back of the ipad, they claim that it is damaged and couldn't be fixed, so I needed to purchase a new one.
As I was thinking about buying an ipad 2 or wait for ipad 3, I left the device for a few days without touching it, and the battery when completely dead (which is normal). Just 2 days ago, I picked it up and made my last attempt.
Without any sim card, the recovery was successful, and everything when back to normal, I was so excited and I put the AT&T sim back in, boom.. after a couple of minutes, the same thing happened again. So I had to restore it again, only this time, the recovery was successful.
I figured it was either 1) AT&T sim card problem, or 2) 3g function problem. To determine it, just tonight after I return to Taiwan, I inserted my FET sim card and no problems occurred!!!
I suspect it's the AT&T sim card that's causing it, any suggestions or different opinions? Because I'm thinking about getting a new AT&T sim card when I return to the US after a few days.dianehk113 wrote:
Is there a SIM card in my iPad ?? What's the scoop Verizon vs AT&T ?
If you have an AT&T iPad 3G, there is a SIM card. If it is a Verizon iPad 3G, there is no SIM card. Whether you prefer to use AT&T or Verizon really depends on the which one has better coverage in your area. However, it sounds as if you already have the iPad, so I'm not completely clear what your asking. -
Which SIM card does the iPad mini take? Does it have to be specific type of SIM for the iPad mini?

Hello,
I've upgraded my iPhone 4 (8 GB model - GSM) to the new iOS 7.0.2 version yesterday evening and strangely enough he restarted fine, but with the "no SIM card" message. After having pulled out and put back in the micro SIM card several times without success, I've restored the iPhone completely to the 7.0.2 update, but the problem still lasted.
I've personally solved the issue by downloading the original 7.0.0 IPSW file and forcing iTunes to restore it: push on Option/Command key while clicking on the restore button in iTunes after putting the iPhone in DFU mode by pressing the Home button when powering on . After the restore everything works fine again and I had just to unlock my Sim Card the regular way in order to activate.
Therefore I'm wondering if anyone else has also encountered this problem and if someone could explain me the origin of this issue.
I'm living in Belgium (Europe) and using Belgacom Proximus as carrier.

Did my solution work for you ?

I have the iPhone 5 and I keep getting a no sim card message. I have had my phone for over a year now so I know I have a sim card. How can I fix this because it doesn't let me get calls now.
Try resetting the phone. Hold the home and power lock button until the Apple logo appears. If that does not work, turn the phone off and take the SIM out and then put it back in.
If that still does not work, you may have a defective SIM, in which case you will need a new one from your carrier. -

Can I put my iphone sim card into my ipad mini?
Can I put my iphone sim card into my ipad mini?
Depends on the model of iPhone, and the actual cellular plan it has.
If its an iPhone 5 with an unlimited Data Plan you may be able to do it.
Any other model of iPhone or a plan without a data packcage will not work. -

Can I connect a sim card to my ipad mini (WiFi)
Nope. You cannot connect sim cards to iPads. You can insert them into the iPad's sim tray if it has one. Which if its is a Wifi only model it wil not have the tray nor the cellualr hardware to do anytihng with it. -

Can you install a SIM card in a iPad model MD510B/AR
Can you install a SIM card in a iPad model MD510B/AR
Nope this appears to be a WiFi model only if my information is correct. If you have the device to hand then check it for a SIM card tray. With the Home key at the bottom the SIM card try if available will be in the top-left corner.

No signal, no sim-card message
Hello,
iPhone 4 shows me a "No sim-card" message and losing a provider's signal periodically after upgrading to OS6. Can I fix this problem somehow?
Thanks in advance.
SergeyThanks for reply.
I tried removing/reinserting the sim. Sometimes it helps sometimes not.
The same thing with the turning out/turning on the iPhone.
Reinstalled iOS yesterday and restored all info via iCloud. Didn't help.
Can it be any kind of a bug or just a problem with a sim-card?
Thanks.
