'No SIM card' message - Telstra, Australia

The 3G Telstra Australia connection in my WiFi-3G iPad drops off frequently and the message 'No SIM card' appears. The only option is to turn the iPad off and on; but I normally have to repeat it 3 times before it asks me to unlock the SIM card.
My iPad is 10 months old.
Any advice?

By any chance do you have it in a case? If so remove the case and see if you still have the problem.
I was experiencing the same issue and solved it by purchasing a different case. It seems that the case I was originally using was putting pressure on the iPad and causing the no sim error. I have not had it happen since. This was on an iPad1 by the way.

  • Does anyone have "No sim card" message after upgrading to iOS 7.0.2 on an iPhone 4 ?

    Hello,
I've upgraded my iPhone 4 (8 GB model - GSM) to the new iOS 7.0.2 version yesterday evening and strangely enough he restarted fine, but with the "no SIM card" message. After having pulled out and put back in the micro SIM card several times without success, I've restored the iPhone completely to the 7.0.2 update, but the problem still lasted.
I've personally solved the issue by downloading the original 7.0.0 IPSW file and forcing iTunes to restore it: push on Option/Command key while clicking on the restore button in iTunes after putting the iPhone in DFU mode by pressing the Home button when powering on . After the restore everything works fine again and I had just to unlock my Sim Card the regular way in order to activate.
Therefore I'm wondering if anyone else has also encountered this problem and if someone could explain me the origin of this issue.
I'm living in Belgium (Europe) and using Belgacom Proximus as carrier.

Try resetting the phone. Hold the home and power lock button until the Apple logo appears. If that does not work, turn the phone off and take the SIM out and then put it back in.
If that still does not work, you may have a defective SIM, in which case you will need a new one from your carrier.

  • No signal, no sim-card message

    Hello,
iPhone 4 shows me a "No sim-card" message and losing a provider's signal periodically after upgrading to OS6. Can I fix this problem somehow?
    Thanks in advance.
    Sergey

    Thanks for reply.
I tried removing/reinserting the sim. Sometimes it helps sometimes not.
The same thing with the turning out/turning on the iPhone.
Reinstalled iOS yesterday and restored all info via iCloud. Didn't help.
Can it be any kind of a bug or just a problem with a sim-card?
    Thanks.

  • "No sim card" message on ipad

How do I get rid of the "no sim card" message on my ipad?

You get the "no SIM" message popping up when Wifi connectivity is lost on a 3G/4G capable iPad which has no SIM installed. Check your wifi set up for intermittent issues.

  • IOS 6.1.2 : "no sim card" message

    Hi,
since I upgraded to iOS 6.1, my iPhone 4 started to lose the phone network frequently : each time I took an elevator or I took the subway, it was enable to get back on it. It just displayed "no service"
After I upgraded to 6.1.2 but the problem got worse. Now my phone sends "no sim card" message several times a day. I need to turn the flight safe mode on and off and re-enter my PIN to re-activate the SIM card. The problem even occurs during the night when the phone is untouched in a place where the reception is good.
Before iOS 6.1 the problem didn't exist, I thought about downgrading but I understood there's no way to do that.
Does anyone experience the same ? Any idea ? Magic trick to fix it ?

I also download update 6.1.2 and now have no wifi or blue tooth connection tried all the restores and tried while connected to I tunes, hurry up and fix this apple the silence is deafening

    Hi imobl,

  • How to fix "no sim card" message?

I keep getting the "no sim card installed" message when I'm in the middle of a phone call (iphone 4).  I turn the phone off then on and that seems to help but it happens again eventually.  Has happened every time I'm talking on my iphone in the past two days!

Virgin use the Optus network here in Australia - which is why, the 3G phones showed you connected to the Optus network, and not to the Virgin network...They don't have their own network, they piggyback on Optus - which is why it would show that it is locked to Optus!
They also said they would unlock my iPhone 4 - which has been done!  So there's obviously something wrong with the phone...

Remove the current sim, clean the contacts, re-install the sim.
Contact your wireless provider and get a new sim.
Has the iPhone been previoulsy jailbroken or modified to work with
    other than the original provider?

  • "Invalid SIM card" message

that is the message I got on my phone today.  It also says that "emergency calls only" but I have no problem making a call.
Any idea what this is about?  as another peice of the puzzle, the back to my phone somehow vanished - could that have something to do with it?
    thanks.

    Hi hkj333:
I've seen this error message come up before, and I believe I have a solution you can try.  Go to Settings> Wireless & Networks> Mobile Networks> Network Mode> Change it from Global to CDMA. Once done, the error should go away.  From the sound of it, it's likely caused by your phone reading the SIM card that is not active in the Verizon Wireless system.  Give it a shot and please follow up with your results.

  • HT1267 My 3GS Has been approved for unlock but connecting to itunes gives me a "no sims card" message.  I have an old AT&T and a valid Tmobile sims card.  What can I do?

I have a 3 GS iphone and longer have service with AT&T, who approved me for unlock.  I followed instructions to connect to itunes and restore.  Now my iphone displays "could not activate". "no sims card" with both my old AT&T sims and my valid (my phone was unlocked) Tmobile sims card.  I have the IMEI number but not the serial number so can not get assistance from Apple support.  Can someone help me figure out how to get apple to unlock this phone???  Thanks  don

You cannot set it up without a SIM. You need to get one. Doesn't have to be active - you can get a used one on eBay for a buck or two.

  • No SIM card message

No SIM in status bar. Tried turning phone on and off and it doesn't help.

Take out the SIM card.  Clean it.  Replace it.
If that doesn't work, get a new SIM card from your carrier.
