No sim card removal tool?

I got my IP 4 this afternoon and so far, I think it's a great improvement over the previous 3G S. Absolutely no trouble with phone, wifi or 3G.
I realize the phone doesn't use a standard sim card. However, wondering why there was no sim card removal tool like the one that came with the 3G and the 3G S. I suppose a paper clip will do the job if push came to shove.

Just checked my box to make sure, no removal tool. I had one in the way you described in my 3G S box but not this with the iPhone 4.
I had not even noticed until i read this post, never used one in previous years. If it's in, it works... why a need to remove it? Not a big deal to me.
What's maybe interesting is that the people that DO have it are mostly from the UK.. i know this shouldn't make any difference at all, coincidence ?

  • HT1688 SIM card removal tool

The iPhone 5 I preordered through Apple (AT&T subscription) did not come with a SIM Card Removal tool. I was unsure of whether or not it was supposed to due to everywhere else saying it should have come with one.
As a little further information, I also bought the iPhone 4 (this one directly from the store) and it didn't come with one either. Is this because I'm with AT&T or just happenstance?

I read in the iPhone user guide that some do come with it and some don't. My AT&T iPhone 5 didn't. My friend's Verizon iPhone 5 did. I assume the reasoning for this is as follows:
Apple assumes (usually correctly) that you will use the AT&T SIM card they provide you in your iPhone most of the time. Therefore, you don't need to have a tool to remove it. In fact, without your SIM, you couldn't use your phone.
However, CDMA carriers (Verizon, Sprint, and the current US prepaid iPhone carriers) do not need SIM cards to work. The only time you'd need a SIM card in one of those models is if you were roaming overseas on an international roaming plan. In that case, you'd need a SIM removal tool to get your SIM in when you travel, and back out when you get home.
I could be wrong, but that seems like the most logical conclusion. Like Ken said above, paper clips work. I keep one in my wallet just in case.

  • No sim card removal tool with iphone 6?

I called Apple Support and told them about it- they rep said that we don't get a sim card removal pin with the 6, but all the unboxing videos had the pins in them. Is this true, though?

So You don't get this with your iPhone box? Because I got this with my iPhone 4 box. Maybe they've changed it since then. Either case a paper clip solved my problem Thanks!

  • Sim card removed message comes automatically when ...

    Hello,
Purchased x2-02 mobile 1 week before. The problem is the sim1 will automatically stop getting detected and users calling me will get switched off announcement.
I have noticed a weird problem. When the mobile is placed near fm radio I face this problem.
Sometimes I also get a message which says sim card removed.
Can someone suggest me a solution apart from keeping the mobile away from fm radio.
I have a spice bamboo, galaxy grand also placed just next to this mobile. There is no issue observed in those phones.
Is there a possibility in nokia for replacement with other model?
Experts please suggest, I am a newbie.

This is a bizarre situation, bdiscuillo77. No worries though, I'm confident that I can help. Does the message that you're referring to a mention your SD or SIM card? Your phone does come equipped with a SD card, but not a SIM card. Are you saying that all of data on the SD card was erased? Try connecting your phone to your PC to see if you canview your files. Please provide me with a few more details.

  • Sim Card Removed, Result SD Card wiped

After having removed my Sim Card, then re-installing it, I found that all of the SD Card Memory had been wiped or was unreadable. It is still showing in properties that 15 out of 32 GB of memory has been used (specifically in my Video folder). Has anyone else had this happen?

possible the SD card was corrupted by chance at the same time

  • Sim Card Removal?    Huh?

I am reading several posts that state people have been removing their iPhone sim card.
I was under the impression this was not possible...
    Anyone?

But, can you use your previous sim card instead of activating your new sim card? The activation may be just to make just to switch sim cards and activate the new one. Maybe if you open the box and switch sim cards it may work.

  • SIM card removal

Stupidly, I inserted a SIM card into the slot of a missing SIM card drawer. How can I remove it ?

Take it in to an authorized service provider. Attempting to do it yourself might make a bad situation, worse.

  • HT201401 iPhone SIM card removal

I can't get the SIM card cmpartment to open on my iPhone.  Is there some kind of trick to this???
    HELP!!!
    THank you!

you should be able to just put a pin or straigtened out paperclip int othe hole on the side of the phoner and push - the sim card jolder should pop out a bit and you can then remove it with your fingers (or in my case my teth)
if that doesnt work there maybe something wrong and you should take the phone to an Apple store if there is one nearby or call Apple iPhone support

  • Sim Card Removal While IPhone Is On

im sure this has probably been asked before but I wanted to ask. Is it safe to remove a SIM card from an iPhone while it's on? The reason I ask is because my wife took my new iPhone 6 to the AT&T store and the had to swap out the SIM card. I asked her if they powered the phone off when they did it and she said she didn't think so. Not positve they did, but just wondering if it's safe. My coworker had done this and I've seen it done in several YouTube videos. Anyone know?

It is possible to overthink these things.

  • Sim Card Removal/Warranty

If I remove the SIM card will that void my warranty? Cause I don't want to bring the iPhone everywhere and I still have a perfectly working Treo.

No. Removing the SIM card is acceptable, and will not void the warranty.

  • I have an iphone that I just deactivated (SIM card removed) - I still want to sync with iTunes but keep getting error message that there is no SIM card installed?

I have an iphone 3GS that I have inactivated as of today. I still wish to sync this phone with iTunes (did a restore as I transferred my data to a new iPhone).  However, iTunes is giving me an error message that there is no SIM card installed in the iPhone I'm attempting to activate.  I've powered off the phone, held the power button & home button until iTunes popped up with restore note.  Re-did the restore (twice) but still coming up with same error message.

Kind of what I figured.....will I be able to sync to iTunes in future as many times as I want without the SIM card (once it's activated again)?

  • Samsung Galaxy S4 Error - SIM Card Removed - Unable to detect your SIM card.

I am having the same problem. The problem still occurs even after the 5.0.1 Lollipop update.

I've been having this issue as well. It did not occur on the stock 4.2.2 firmware. It started out at 4.3, where my signal would appear as no bars (not a crossed out circle, just 0 bars). I would have to enter airplane mode, or restart my phone to fix it. In 4.4, it changed to stating my sim card was not detected and I would have to restart my phone. In 5.0, it started out by having a no service (crossed out circle) signal, progressed to no sim card - restart.
I got the same line of crap from Samsung and AT&T that the rest of you have. First person I talked to was Samsung (their hardware, their problem). They told me, much like many of you have seen -
    1. Release the cache from the update (didn't work).
    2. Reset the phone to factory settings (didn't work).
    3. Go down to the Galaxy Experience Center at BestBuy to get a download for the OS files (didn't work)
    4. The Samsung guy at BestBuy stated there were 2 recourses available
--a. Send my phone to the Samsung repairs in Texas for free under warranty, or $70 outside it, to fix it
--b. Go to AT&T and get the SIM card replaced, although it likely wouldn't work.
--I countered with I could also do c. rollback my firmware to 4.2.2. He warned me doing so would void my warranty, and that I could possibly brick my phone. I told him my phone was well outside of the shoddy 1 year warranty, and that I understood the risks in changing firmware versions.
    5. Went to AT&T to get the SIM card replaced. The AT&T employee stated that he had heard of the issue, and the last 2 people who replaced it didn't get the issue fixed that way. Replaced the SIM card. (Didn't work)
    6. Called AT&T, asked if there were network upgrades being done to the 3 nearby towers, they stated no, but that this issue was a known issue and that it would be at the manager's discretion to replace my phone as it was out of warranty.
So I perused the internet some more, saw an interesting post. 1 person decided to go to Application Manager and disable all of AT&T and Samsung's bloatware. Others followed suit and it worked for them. I tried it myself, and had fixed my phone for a while. The problem for me was that I had my phone set to auto download updates. The issue returned today, if you can't tell.
I checked my updates, and saw Android System WebView was recently updated. I rolled it back just in case, but I am going to go through my phone once again to see what other bloatware is left.
It would make sense that it was added bloatware that has broken our connections, as bloatware has been added in each firmware update.
    [edit for missed step]

  • I went to an att store to get my sim card removed, now there is a yellow tint on my iphone 4 right where the sim card slot is. I didn't notice anything beforehand. ATT says it wasn't them, but it seem like thats the only possibility.

Has anyone had this issue before?
Any help would be much appreciated..thanks!

  • How to insert the sim card

How do you insert the sim card to iPhone 4

On the side of the phone, you should see a little slot that you can see in this picture:
Place a bent paperclip or sim card removal tool if you have one into that black hole and the sim card tray should pop out. You can then insert a new sim.
