No sim problem

I got a new 4s two days ago and it keeps saying NO SIM. What do you recommend doing because I don't think I damaged my sim

Remove and reinstall the SIM.
Try a different SIM

If the problem appeared after an update and the phone had been jailbroken before the update that would explain your problem. If that is the case there there is no easy solution.

• N8 restarting, sim problem

Hi, I have N8 for two weeks now and it just restarts 6times a day, and also got a sim-problem few times a day. I tried to reinstall the firmware twice, also deleted all apps and still the same...
Any ideas whers the problem?

Did you try to use another SIM card?
Maybe you can try the one of a relative or a friend... if it works, you can consider moving your number to a new SIM and replace the current one.

after ios upgrade to 7.0.4 i got power botton and no sim problem anyone having this problem?

Installing an iOS update does not add a physical button.
As for the "No SIM" message, try removing and reinserting the SIM or replacing the SIM.

• HT201412 I dropped my iphone 4. It showed a 'sim problem' window and now has no service.

my iphone 4 slipped off a table and than later had a window that said 'sim problem' and now has no service.

Hey 35Cotton,
I understand that you're encountering SIM/service issues on your iPhone. I would run through these troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue:
Update your iPhone to the latest version of iOS.
Toggle Airplane mode On and Off.
Try turning iPhone off and then on again.
Check for a carrier settings update. Tap Settings > General > About. If an update is available, a prompt will appear.
Remove the SIM Card and verify that it is a valid, carrier-manufactured SIM. Also verify that it is not damaged, worn, or modified. Then reinsert it.
Restore the iPhone.
If you still are unable to resolve this issue, contact Apple support for further assistance.

• Why does Apple not put its hands up regarding the "No SIM" problem?

After about 18 months of flawless use my iPad 2 developed the "No SIM" problem.
I tried one of the many nostrums on various bulletin boards, airplane mode on /off and so on, and the "No SIM" went away for a week.
It has since come back and will not shift.
On advice from Apple support I did a full restore.
The "No SIM" problem did not go away.
I have had much fruitless dialogue with the automatons at Apple.
The bottom line is that Apple - despite hundreds of complaints on their own bulletin boards, feign ignorance of this issue.
Opinion seems to be firm that this is a hardware problem.
Apple is saying, pay up almost the price of a new iPad and we will swap nout your iPad.
This is daylight robbery with bells on and typical of Apple's business model of selling products woth built in obsolescence.
Their share price will inevitably decline as the public gets fed up with Apple's arrogance and lack of customer empathy.

While most likely not of interest to you, Spotlight can also tell you where the files it finds are located
Hover the mouse pointer over the name, and press Command-Option and the path to the file will be displayed.
As for opening a terminal session in the directory where a file is located, there is Applescripts that do just that as well as specific features in Lion/Mountain Lion terminal:

According to your product code your N8 is an unlocked and unbranded German variant. So technically it should accept any SIM on any network. Now, you say your phone is "Offline" which to me means the profile selected is the "Offline" profile. To change the profile to an "Online" one press the power key once and select General from the menu that appears.

• "no sim" problem fixed

I thought I'd share the fix to my problem for others that may be getting the same "no sim" message on their original iPhone.
I purchased a second hand iPhone on ebay in the UK and ordered a pay as you go sim from O2 (the 'official' iPhone carrier here in the UK). The phone arrived last weekend, the sim on Tuesday.
I put the sim in the phone (using the obligatory paper clip) and turned it on, to be met with a "no sim installed" message. I tried re-seating the sim, a sim from an Orange phone, restoring the iPhone from DFU mode, just about everything from this and other forums but no joy.
I contacted O2 who told me to go to a shop. The shop was useless, they followed a script which involved them ringing the same help desk that had advised me to go to the shop, then suggested I contact Apple.
I called Apple (in Ireland) and spoke to a very helpful guy who checked that I had done all of the things that I could. He eventually suggested that I go to the nearest genius bar as it sounded like a hardware problem.
Yesterday I had a meeting in London so stopped in the Regent Street Apple store. I was seen within 10 minutes (even though I had not made an appointment). The genius diagnosed a hardware problem and changed the phone within 5 minutes, got me to activate it using my O2 sim and confirmed that I had data and voice connectivity.
I now have a new, working iPhone. My advice to anyone with the same problem is to ignore the carrier support lines (who initially try to send you a new sim without actually understanding the problem) but go to an Apple store (but make an appointment first).

Please help out to solve this problem.
It sounds like the phone was hacked or jailbroken, and updating it locked it to the original carrier. As it is not possible to update to any version other than the current one (5.1) the fact that you updated to 4.1 pretty much confirms the phone was hacked. There is no solution that you can get in an Apple forum.

• N73 Sim Problem

I keep getting these messages on the screen of my Nokia N73 saying 'Sim Card Registration Failed'.
I am having no other problems, and can make calls and send messages fine. Anyone know what the problem might be?
Any advise or info would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
Oli x

I can't belive how many people have this simular problem. At this minute I am in Latvia and roaming on LV LMT with problems, back home (England and on orange) it works reasonably ok. What its doing at the minute is to get coverage I have to turn off the phone and restart which is a **bleep** pain. I now have altered the settings to GSM only and its working better but it will not send my last few texts and it comes up in the right top corner as sending under way and its just stuck there. Any answers anyone?? Oh and has anyone had this problem....... When the phone rings, the screen looks like its fused as you try answer the call and all the buttons freeze????? I phoned Orange and they told me to remove a voiceover in my ring tone settings. Have I bought a can of worms?

• IPhone 4 iOS 4.3.5 'No Service' and 'No Sim' Problems

Ever since I updated my iPhone 4 to the latest iOS (4.3.5) I have had nothing but grief!!
I updated it a week ago now and every morning since then I have woken up to my phone saying there is no sim inserted! The phone is plugged in overnight to charge and it has done this every night without fail ever since I loaded this stupid update!!
Also at least once and hour during the day if the phone is left alone for a bit the dreaded 'No Service' message appears! I then have to turn on the Airplane Mode and leave it for a few seconds and then back off and the signal slowly loads back up! Just to add to the frustration the phone is now a week over the free support warranty period (strange coincidence) so I cannot get any help from Apple unless I pay for it!
Has anyone else experienced a similar problem since the iOS 4.3.5 software was released?

same here!!

• Sim problem with iphone3gs

Hi guys,
Just thought I'd put this problem out there to see if anyone else has experienced the same & if anyone has any suggestions.
A couple of weeks ago my iPhone started crashing if I used it for a call or text. I could switch it back on shortly after ( usually with the aid of the charger) & it would work for another while, then do the same again. I noticed that afterward the crash the battery power would've dropped from 80/90% to as low as 12%.
The problem persists but now I've discovered that it only happens when my SIM card is in the phone. No sim & the phone works perfectly, apart from calls & texts. O2 think it's a sim reader problem & apple thought it was a software problem so re- installed the OS. & reset the phone but no joy. It keeps crashing when i try to use the phone. Any ideas?

Unfortunately I haven't found a solution yet. But it is currently with Apple in the form of a bug report - I will post more info when it becomes available. I too have rogue usage stats. Approx half the standby time is usage, even when I don't use it at all!
