No Skype Calls for India-based phones

Well, I got the informtion that after Nov 10, Skype users will not able to call India-Based Phones.
Please temme the reason.
Is it Indian Govt or Skype Server Problem?

Hi, Mr4Evapls, and welcome to the Community,
This is one of those instances where referring you to Skype customer service is the best course of action.  They would have the most up-to-date information related to vouchers and subscription plans.

  • When will you start Skype Number for India.

    Hi skype,
I really shocked when I see that skype does not provide skype number for India. Tell me Please what is the your planning about this issue.

Skype numbers are based on availability which can be due to contracts and whether a particular country authorizes Skype numbers to exist in their country.  If Skype is unable to obtain numbers in a particular country, I highly doubt there is much than can be done.

  • Skype call to India

Hi, Since I am from India I am not able to make any call to Indian mobile and landline numbers. I found the below message in the help section. As of 10 November 2014, if you are in India, calling from Skype to mobiles and landlines within India will unfortunately no longer be available. This change only affects Skype calls to landlines and mobiles; you can still make free Skype-to-Skype calls within India, and you can still call mobiles and landlines in India from outside the country (as well as make calls from India to other countries) You can also use any Skype Credit you currently have to use Skype WiFi or to send SMS messages to your contacts. Next week I will be travelling to US and I might need to make some calls to Indian landline and mobile numbers from the US airport. As per the above message by skype I will be able to make calls to Indian numbers from outside India. My question is, if I am at a place outside India how will Skype know that I am calling from outside India ? Do I need tochange any region settings or any other settings in my mobile or profile. I am using the Skype android client .  Thanks,Anil

  • My Skype subscription for India calling is not wor...

    Hi, I recently purchased Skype India calling for 2500min/month subscription. My problems are listed below;
    1. The subscription is unfortunately not working at all. I tried on couple of mobile numbers, its sometimes connecting but no voice. Only one time I was able to connect to land line number and the voice was OK, but still not so good clarity.
    2. I am not able to use this subscription feature in my Android mobile (Galaxy S4), to call mobile numbers or land line number are not possible at all my Skype mobile.
Please help me find a solution for it. My normal Skype video and voice calls are working fine in my Laptop and also in my Android mobile but the subscription is not working. If there is no solution or official communication I have to cancel subscription, why should I unnecessarily pay to Skype.
Any suggestion or help is appreciated greatly.
    regards
    Unsatisfied Skype customer.

    Hello,
The fault is almost certainly with the local Indian carrier used to terminate the call and not Skype. (All Skype calls travel via the internet and only convert to PSTN/Cellular networks at a point close to the recipient's phone). The fact that your Skype-to-Skype calls are trouble-free demonstrates the point. You can also check by placing a free call to the Skype Call Testing Service (echo123).
First of all thanks for your reply and also you mentioned something PSTN/Cellular network etc etc how the Skype is working. But look here my problem is why this is happening, the subscription name itself India calling then Skype should be able to tieup or catch up with the local Indian carrier, isn't it? How do I know that the local carrier is supporting or not? I need a solution not the reason, yeah it is good to know the reason but what I will do with the reason here; it is beyond my doing. If this is the genuince reason for the failure then Skype is making false statement and fooling around the customers saying you can call Indian Mobile and land lines by this subscription, which is clearly not happening.
Please let me know if there is anything can be done on this issue, yours time and effort is appreciately greatly.
    regards

    Hello everybody,

  • Making a skype call on a dual phone.

I've just installed a binatone s1545 dual landline and internet phone but it only seems to be letting me make skype calls from my contact list and not use the key pad to dial any other number. I've tried using the onscreen dial pad and this works but I can't hear the call through the handset.
    Any ideas ?
    Thanks.

  • How to set busy trigger and max number of calls for a sip phone in SRST

How is it possible to set the maximum number of calls and busy trigger for a line on a sip phone in SRST .There is no commands like dual-line or octo-line for the max-dn like under call-manager-fallback .
Sent from Cisco Technical Support iPad App

So is the answer then that there is no way for a SIP phone in SRST mode to handle multiple calls? I have a site currently failed over in SRST mode, and I have noticed that the reception phone can only handle one call at a time. If I place a second call to it I get a busy signal.

  • Receivable Aging Report for India based on Invoice Date

We have a reporting/legal need for our India location to report the aging of their receivables based on the invoice date of the documents rather than the net due date.  Is there an existing report available that already does this?
Currently when you use FBL5N and related aging reports RFDOPO10 etc. it calculates the arrears from the net due date.  They need to calculate the arrears from the document date.

The report S_ALR_87012168 still does not allow me to choose that I want to calculate the arrears from the document date rather than the net due date:
I guess what they really need to know is how old the receivables are based on the date they were created.
As in the example below, current aging reports use the Net Due to calculate a days in arrears of 6 days (based on current date of 2008/11/05).
Ty Doc. Date  Pstng Date Bline Date Net due dt Arrea
    RV 2008.09.30 2008.09.30 2008.09.30 2008.10.30     6
What they need is the number of days in arrears based on the document date (2008.09.30) which would increase the numer of days the receivable has been open to 36.

  • Do you know anyone skype contact for india or Emai...

I want skype India support no. or email id. I want cancel my subscription as soon as possible.

These are the downloads and the settings you need in order to view/hear pretty much everything that the net can throw at you: The setup described below has proved repeatedly successful on both PPC and Intel macs, but nothing in life carries a guarantee!
Assuming you already run Tiger versions OS 10.4.9 or above (this has not yet been verified with Leopard) and have Quicktime 7.2, and are using Safari 2 or 3, download and install (or re-install even if you already had them) the latest versions, suitable for your flavor of Mac, of:
    RealPlayer 10 for Mac from http://forms.real.com/real/player/blackjack.html?platform2=Mac%20OS%20X&product= RealPlayer%2010&proc=g3&lang=&show_list=0&src=macjack
Flip4Mac WMV Player from http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/player/wmcomponents.mspx (Windows Media Player for the Mac is no longer supported, even by Microsoft)
    Perian from http://perian.org/
    Adobe FlashPlayer from http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1ProdVersion=ShockwaveFlash
In Quicktime Preferences, under advanced, UNcheck Enable Flash, and under Mime settings/Miscellananeous only check Quicktime HTML (QHTM).
In Macintosh HD/Library/Quicktime/ delete any files relating to DivX (Perian already has them).
Now go to Safari Preferences/Security, and tick the boxes under Web Content (all 4 of them).
Lastly open Audio Midi Setup (which you will find in the Utilities Folder of your Applications Folder) and click on Audio Devices. Make sure that both Audio Input and Audio Output, under Format, are set to 44100 Hz.
Important: Now repair permissions and restart.
The world should now be your oyster!
You should also have the free VLC Player from http://www.videolan.org/ in your armory, as this plays almost anything that DVD Player might not.

  • Future for linux based phones seems bright

    http://www.reuters.com/article/idUSTRE65N20Y20100624
if theres truth behind that article, then the future looks bright. poor symbian^3, seems like it will be abandoned too quickly. at least it still has the qt framework, so it will still have a library of apps. although it may still be used in x series and c series...
if the article is true, then it may suggest that the rumored n9 may be meego based after all.

I fully understand why Nokia wants to keep Symbian, after all not everyone is interested in smartphones.
You do know Meego v1.0 has been released? There is no alpha!! it's OUT..
Meego 1.0 for the N900 will be its own version.. and since Nokia aren't supporting it, it will be buggy for years, I suspect (I am looking forward to it)
Meego 1.0 for handhelds available at the moment does not contain a formal graphical user interfaces (GUI, or User eXperience (UX) layer).
Linux Foundation claimed the image user interface of N900 version and MeeGo 1.1 are expected to launch the unstable test version this month, and release the official version in the fourth quarter.
pre-alpha 1.1 release that will be available the 30th of June.

  • Data used for a 25 minute skype call

    Hello,
I am using skype 7.0 for windows PC to make 25 minute skype calls for work. I am just on an 800mb limit per day. According to my ISP's Web site, 800 mb is enough to make 4.5 hours of skype calls. But I saw that for just one skype call, my statistics tab showed I consumed about 350+mb already after just one 25 minute skype call. So if this is the case for every skype call I make, I can only make 2-3 25 minute skype calls before my ISP limits my internet usage for the day.
How much data is used for 1 25 minute skype call using PC ?
I think my ISP's Web site is misleading about skype calls.
    Solved!

You can still have your video on and your student can have their video off.  If they "call" you instead of "video call" you, their video will never be engaged and you can just turn your video on from that point.  The big problem with ISP bandwidth restrictions is that their limitation tends to count upload and download which greatly reduces your overall real bandwidth.  You can use this as a guide as well to guesstimate.
    http://community.skype.com/t5/Windows-archive/Bandwidth-Consumption-Question-Again/m-p/2887243/highl...
Be aware that this only accounts for one-way communication.  If you were to both have your video on at the same quality the figure would double.  If your student only has audio engaged then you would only add 25 minutes of "äudio" to gauge an approximation.  Since Skype is "automatic" call quality can go up or down.  Netlimeter or it's equivalent is the only real way to lower the video quality other than using a much lower resolution camera.
In regards to your ISP's "video conferencing" calculation, it's not pulled out of a hat.  It appears to be calculated off a total video conferencing rate of 384k which is generally at a CIF/SIF resolution (~352x288 or lower).  Skype's video quality operates at a higher rate that even supersedes their 90-minute movie estimate they provided as well.  If you were to compare either a 90-minute DVD quality video or a 90-minute Blu-ray quality video the bandwidth would of course be surpassed as well as downloaded/watched movies vary in quality as well.
I believe the average amount of bandwidth consumption for typical households can be upwards of 150-300+ Gigabytes a month.  Low metered accounts are generally for mobile devices or people who don't plan to use the Internet beyond basic web searching and e-mail.  I personally would use a plan like that to get Internet in remote places but I wouldn't plan to do anything beyond the basics.
In regards to overage of bandwidth consumption ISPs either:
    1.  Terminate the data service for the month when exceeded
    2.  Charge you overage charges at a set cost per MB or GB.
    3.  Allow you to continue to use the service but cap your Internet speed to twice that of dial-up (115kbp/s) or possibly even lower.

  • How do I record Skype calls using CS4 Soundbooth?

    Hello All,
I'd like to use CS4 Soundbooth to record my Skype calls for a podcast.  How do I do that?  If anybody can help me out, I would be very grateful.  Thanks!

Which model call phone are you using? If you are a Windows Mobile user, then it will become an easy job. The software ----wm sound recorder can help you to record calls and sms. Then you can record your calls easily.

  • Replacement for Linksys CIT200 phone

I have been using Linksys CIT200 cordless phone for years - until today when it died. In case you haven't had the pleasure to use it, it did require to have Skype installed on a computer and it connected via USB (and not directly to a router). I would like to replace it but I don't know with what. All phones that I see on Amazon do not require PC. I don't see how that can work for me for these reasons:
    1) I use add-on software that allows me to record skype calls for business purposes. I assume there is no way to install add-on directly to Skype phone that do not require PC or is it?
    2) How would I do video-calls? With CIT200, I had a choice to initiate a video call from my computer or just a Skype-out call from the cordless phone; all that with one Skype identity.
Thanks for any advice you can give me.

There are a few devices that you can find that work with Skype via USB.  I would just do a search for" Skype USB adapter".  I've personally used the Yealink B2K RJ11 and I was satisfied with the device and the price.  If you are comfortable with your Linksys device you can find it online used/new at an auction site for a decent price.  I just checked and you can pick one up  for between 12 to 40 bucks after shipping.
    In response to your questions:
    1.  You would have to have software specifically designed for your phone and its implementation of Skype to do this.  It is highly unlikely you will find something and if it exists with the same feature you are used to.
    2.  With most Skype USB adapters I believe it would very similar if not the same.
