No Skype Numbers for Washington DC?

I'm new to Skype, so forgive me if I'm missing somthing here, but when I tried to set up a skype number and used the drop-down box to designate a state & area code, there was no option to designate Washington DC, so I couldn't proceed. Anyone know what I need to do? Thanks.

Using FireFox , I found Area Code 202 telephone numbers available for Washington, D.C. - listed under District of Columbia. Maine and Hawaii are two states I am aware of where Skype Numbers are not available.

A Skype Number is associated with a Skype Account, so whomever you are referring to may set up a Skype Number subscription with a number based in the USA. Skype Numbers can be answered from anywhere.

Skype numbers for canada:

Is there a reason I can't get a skype number for Canada? I have used skype for 3 years and would like to have a number for when I am in Asia.

I have been waiting for years to get a Canadian number. They've been telling me it's in the work pretty much since it's launched. It's crazy that it's not available here. Now that Microsoft has taken over, hopefully they'll make it a priority to get that for us.
Why have we really not gotten any access to this service yet?

Lack of country options for Skype Numbers

Why is it that there's not many Skype numbers for Latin American countries? one of the biggest and fast growing regions in the world now and you only have numbers for Chile and Brazil..
Whey are you planning to expand to Peru, Colombia, Ecuador, etc. There is a lot of startup businesses in Latin America and (we) young professionals need this kind of services to catch up.

How to get multiple numbers for a business?

Hi-
We use Skype as our means of communication for our company. We like everyone to have a Skype number, however we have reached a major roadblock. Everytime we add a new person and try to get them a Skype number it locks the account for fraud, apparently because we used the same credit card on multiple accounts.
Trying to fill out a form to request for Skype to unlock the account has gotten nowhere.
So I guess my question is, how can we buy multiple Skype numbers for multiple people at our company using 1-2 credit cards and not have all the accounts get frozen?

Have you looked into a Skype Manager configuration to see if that might meet your company's needs? (see below) If these are all "personal" accounts that are being set up, and that the employees could take with them when they leave the firm, could they not fund their own Skype Number and be reimbursed by the company? Just thinking out loud here.
Skype will not bend regarding the number of credit cards used to fund accounts rules. I applaud Skype's anti-fraud protocols despite the fact at times these rules are inconvenient, to say the very least. Contact Skype Customer Service again to request the accounts in question be released.

Do I have to have different "skype numbers" for each contact in the U.S. when calling from my mobile phone in Chile? Or is there a way to call one local number to connect to Skype and then dial the U.S. number I want?

I pay for 3 skype numbers (have for 7+ years) only...

I've been trying to get 'support' to help but the best they've been able to do is 'promise' to provide a voucher for 12 months of a third skype number. That *was* OK until I started getting emails from "Jack L" on the "Skype Tier 2 Team" asking for screen shots of the charge for 12 months that the web site asks for. I can't reply to his emails (from email address is a bunch of [email protected] - it bounces) so I've forwarded the screen shots to other support people I've worked with on the issue. This has been going on since December. Support request number is SRX1273613357ID / 4071137859 Looks - I'm over it. I have been paying for three skype numbers, every month since 2007. The details are in that ticket number. You can get Skype into every major motion picture released in 2014 I think you can set up my paid for subscription service.

This is a community forum. Very few, if any can assist in account matters and payments. Most likely, it will be faster to contact customer service, and give them the case numbers you are reffering to:

that's it. i have one skype account that had one skype number forwarding to one land number. works fine. bought another skype number in order to forward to a 2nd land number. but cant find any way to do this on skype. skype just wants all forwarding for both skype number to go to the same land number (or numbers).
other than creating a 2nd account for the second number/forwarding, is there a way to do what i want to do here?
or, if i need to set up a 2nd account for the 2nd number, is there any way to get skype to apply the 2nd skype number and the payment (that has already been processed) for that number to the 2nd account?

unfortunately, you also cannot transfer a Skype Number from one account to another

Please review other postings here on this message board if you plan to do such things such as activate separate call forwarding for each number or separate voice mail, as Skype does not provide a facility for this. Multiple Skype Number subscriptions as well as any other subscriptions, features, or credit purchased under one Skype account are tied to the account on which they were purchased.

I bought another skype number for a family member ...

I have 2 skype numbers now because I can't figure out how to assign the other one I just bought, to a family member. Do I need to cancel that and start over?

As a matter of fact, yes: Skype Numbers are associated with the account under which the subscription was started. Skype does not permit Skype Numbers or any other subscription, or credit, to be transferred from one account to another.
So, the best thing to do would be to cancel the number you do not need, contact customer service to explain the situation and to request a refund , and start a new Skype Number using the Skype account for the family member you wish to have a Skype number. You or they should use their own payment method -- the Skype anti-fraud filters will catch your credit card being used for more than one account, and bar the payment; as a security measure, you may find your own account becomes suspended!
All that said, if the family member does not use Skype and have their own account, that presents another wrinkle.

Is it possible to get one Skype-in phone number and assign it to multiple members in Skype Manager?
If so, how do I go about it?

You could always allocate a number to multiple business accounts in Skype Manager. Then re-direct the number via IP-PBX to go to different extensions.
