No slides in show

Have followed all directions and slideshow appears, saying there are 12 photos in it but when I play the show all I get is a fade to black screen and then it's back to iPhoto again. Even reloaded iPhoto but same thing happens. Deleted preferences, no change. Photos don't show up and don't play. Any help?

It sounds like the database is damaged and can't be repaired. You'll have to start over from scratch with a new library as follows:
Start over with a new library and import the Originals folder from your original library as follows:
Creating a new library while preserving the Events from the original library.
Move the existing library folder to the desktop.
Open the library package like this.
Launch iPhoto and, when asked, select the option to create a new library.
Drag the Originals folder from the iPhoto Library on the desktop into the open iPhoto window.
This will create a new library with the same Events as the original library if you have the Finder checkbox unchecked in the Events preference pane.

Imovie slide & video shows

Hi - Im a little confused and frustrated. I prepared a photo slideshow in imovie and I also have selected video clips in imovie which I want to intersperse with this slideshow so it becomes a combined slide & video show. So I may start with three or four slides, switch to a video clip then back to slides for a while then insert a further clip and so on. Is this possible and how do I do it? Ive trawled through a bunch of google how to's and apple community answers but there doesnt seem to be any easy answer except go back to iphoto and import from there which becomes tedious having done it all before. I would also like to keep the inserted maps that I made for the slide show. Any help is greatly appreciated

Playing Music No Slider bar Showing

I notice now when I play music that my volume slider bar shows but the fast foward or rewind slider bar is missing how do i get the bar back.

Transparency in gradients - transition gradient slider still shows the transparent tabs colour

I`m trying to make a one colour radial blend from one colour to transparent,
so I make the end tab 0% opacity. transparent,
however the transition gradient slider at top between the colour and the transparent tab still shows the influence of the transparent, this creates a colour bleed from the transparent tab even if I set it to white, the left colour fades out into white then transparency. (this is not due to the cream left tab, it happens on any colour sample)
I want the left colour tab to fade out with no influence in the transition period to the "white transparent" tab, but the transition slider does carry some of the gradation from the white tab... is there a way to delete the white tab all together and have a true transition from the cream to nothing?

I just thought of the solution, - use the same colour on both colour stops, and make one transparent.

Power point slides not showing

I have a rather odd problem. I've got a lengthy pdf which I converted to jpg's. I pasted those jpg's into power point into and then imported the pptx into Captivate 6. All the slides import but only the first 2 jpg's are visible. All of the other slides are blank. I know there's an easier way to do it, by converting the pdf to a pptx, and then import to captivate, but the pdf is mostly text and the text gets jumbled during the conversion. I'm just curious as to why the jpg's are not coming into captivate. And btw, I've also tried it using png's.

If you already have JPG images, why not simply use Captivate's ability to create a Slide Show and just create a project and point at the images?

Objects to show at different times on a slide not showing up

Hi Everyone,
I hope this problem is minor and that I’m just missing a small step but here it goes…
I’m using Captivate 4 and I’ve only been using it on one particular computer. I updated a captivate project that I’ve been working on since September and I’ve finished all the edits (added a picture, changed a few words) as requested by colleauges when all of a sudden, some objects that were suppose to show at different times on the slide were not showing up at all. The frustrating part is I actually finished the project! When I do a preview within the edit view, the objects appear as it should, however, when I publish it or do a preview on wepage, the objects are not appearing at all (ie a word at 10 sec, another at 20 sec). Anway, there were only 3 slides acting like this, all with objects are suppose to show up at different times on the slide (these were not the slides that I recently edited). My video works fine, my quiz works fine, and I’ve uploaded an initial version of my work on a Pathlore LMS with no problems (publish specs: flash 8, AS2).
I have several other projects that are less complicated (ie no video, no objects showing at different times within the slide) and they are OK. I’ve checked on other computers and same problem.
I tried deleting the slides, and redoing it again within the same project but still wont work I tried copying everthing on a new project with the same size with no luck.
I tried making a 2 slide project with objects showing up at different times and it works.
Is my project corrupted in some way? What are the possible culprits for this problem?
I really hope I don’t have to start from scratch…

Hi there
While it's certainly possible that the project has somehow become corrupt, you might find that simply closing and restarting Captivate changes things.
Have you tried that? I've seen it where bits and pieces are suddenly missing. After I restarted, things were just fine again.

Help: Slide background showing up on other slides.

I'm using Captivate 6 and I've encountered the following issue with most projects I work on. I've recorded from a software application, and when I publish my project, portions of slide background from some slides show up on other slides. I can't incude a full screenshot due to the proprietary nature of the software I'm working with, but I've included a snippet to give you an idea. The white portion on the left that says "Breath Sounds" is not supposed to be there. That is from a different slide and in a different place. This only shows in the published version, not in preview mode. I've tried increasing the SWF size and quality to high and compressing full motion. The only work-around I've had success with so far is hiding all the objects on a slide and then capturing a screenshot of it, then adding the screenshot to the slide as an image, and applying the objects back on top of it. As you can imagine, this makes the size of the project much bigger than necessary and it is very time intensive to go out and do this for every slide. I've tried adding the screenshot as background and I run in to the same issue. Has anyone run in to this before and know how to fix it?

I did not select that option, but I will give that a try. I did create a second version of the project to use to troubleshoot the issues because I was able to finish the first version using the workaround I mentioned above. When I published the new version (without the added screenshot images), I turned off compression and the issue was resolved so that must be it. Thanks to both of you for your help!!

Issues with getting a slide to show in Captivate 6 that includes a video

I am hoping that someone can help me with my issue. I am currently working in Captivate 6. I have a project and I am trying to get videos to open and run. I have inserted a new content slide into my project. I then added an FLV video to that slide (this is slide 11 in my project). I have a previous slide (slide 10) that has an image and button and I have directed that button to go to slide 11 and then show the video when clicked. My issue is that when I click on the button on slide 10, it does not take me to slide 11 (the slide with the video), it just stays there on slide 10.
The other piece to the puzzle is that this project is a simulation that was recorded. So on Slide 10, I also have a click box that is suppose to take the user to slide 12, (the next step in the simulation) which it does, but then on slide 12, it opens the video from Slide 11 at the same time.
I hope this is not too confusing but I would really like some help if there is anyone that can help me.

Can you confirm if you inserted this Video on Slide 11 as Event or Multi Slide Synchronize Video? If it is Event Video, insert it as Multi Slide Video (you can set it to display on one slide only (current 11).
Also, Can you add a button to a new blank slide (put it anywhere in filmstrip) and set the action for it to jump to Video Slide?
Is this a problem with that particular button may be?

Why does CC Text from various slides not show after HTML5 Publish?

I have CC Text throughout my course. When I publish from the Responsive Layout template, some CC Text does not show in various slides. Of course, when I republish, the CC Text that didn't show up reappears with other CC Text on different slides missing. Has anybody had this happen?

Thanks, Demo, I'll give that a shot. On the other hand, I really don't want to have some files in iBooks and other ones in Adobe Reader. If Adobe Reader will let me organize them in folders, it might be a great solution.
However, there's no ".pdf management" involved here. It's simply "Read the #%€\#^% .pdf file I gave you" and there is nothing to "manage". Whatever opinions Apple has about Adobe, .pdf is a fact of life and should not require any handstands and backsprings just to read a file. (Are you listening, Apple?) I refinanced my home with .pdf files; print it, sign it, scan it, e-mail it back. (OK, calm down, it'll be all right... Sigh...)
Whatever the result, I'll report back.

6600 Slide not showing correct time for recieved m...

Hi again, My slide is mighty cute but is vexing me once more. Whenever I recieve messages - if i look at the "message details" it says i have recieved them at bizzare times. Eg. if it is 1pm it might say 4:36 am. Have called my service provider - they said it was a phone setting. Checked at the shop i purchased it from and they cound't figure it - i have searched and still can't figure it! anyone have any clues as to how i would go about setting it for the correct time? When I send messages it sticks the right time on them and my phone clock is correct too ...

date & time,
date & time settings,
then go to TIME ZONE(set your GMT, that's the local time zone. Eg: Mine is GMT +8, Its because I live in asia so its GMT +8. It depends in what country you are located. If you dont know your GMT or local time zone, just google it, type GMT & look for the country where you live.
Then, set the actual time & date.
I also have that kind of problem before & I did the same thing.

added in to the edge file from dreamweaver. I dont think you can get rid of the horizontal and vertcle scoll bars from the edge menu the stage propertie menu is blocked once you plac the codde for the centering preload from dreamweaver.

The songs that show the "note" were they downloads directly from iTunes? iTunes downloads all have artwork. If not, you will get that 50/50 chance of no album cover art. I had to look up the songs (of the ones I was importing at the time) artwork on "Google". Then I would just add the pic for the artwork myself. No more blanks ("or notes") Just beautiful pics to scroll through....

How to get the red slider to show

Hi.
My ipad 4 is in recovery mode. So i tried to fix it. Step one was to plug in the usb cable to the computer. I did. Then I turned off my ipad 4 next. Then the next step was to press and hold the sleep/wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears. I did do that but the red slider didn't appear at all. What do i do?

The iPad is in recovery mode so all you need to do is plug it into a computer that has iTunes installed. iTunes on the computer should then prompt you the iPad is in recovery mode. Simply follow the prompts to restore the iPad to factory settings.

what do you mean all numbers as private numbers? are you referring to when you call people, and your number is displayed as "private number" to them, or when people call you and their number is displayed as "private number calling". please clarify

Stabilization- Max Zoom slider not showing up.

I'm having a problem with the stabilization all of a sudden. I did an analyze. The amount of shake isn't terrible but it's there. There are no squiggly lines in the clip I'm trying to stabilize. As you can see in the screenshot that it allows me to click the "Smooth clip motion" but the slider is not there for zoom. Any ideas why this is happening all of a sudden? It happens on all clips in this event. The entire event was analyzed after importing.

It took me a while to figure out what's going on. In short, in order to make the stabilizer work, you can only include one squiddily line in each clip.
So when you add the clip to the project, make sure you split each squiddily lines, either in the event library or in the project library. Then you will be able to set the stabilizer max zoom for each clip. If your clip has more than one squiddily lines, the slider in the max zoom will disappear.
You can preview the stabilized result in the event library - by selecting the section that only has 1 squiddily line, and control click, you should see an option "play with stabilization preview".
