No slideshows, frames or albums publish!

I have been trying to solve this for six hours and have a dead arm so give up!
My site (which I have had for a few years with no probs) will no longer publish albums, slideshows or frames. When I publish and 'View Site' on iWeb it is all there. But once I look in the folder, the html files are missing the slideshows etc - but the photos are all still in the media folder.
When trying to view the html files in my FTP the message says "A valid URL could not be created for the file you are attempting to preview. Make sure the file is in your site root or enter the URL manually." However, this is entered correctly within iWeb and has had no issues before.
I have also tried to upload to mobileme and it said that there was an error and could not upload. Is it possible this site could be corrupted? I have nine other sites on the same library which appear to upload Ok!
I can remember when I upgraded this site with iWeb'08 that there was an issue with a .js file within Script, but I have replaced the whole Script folder and still no joy!

If you're publishing to MobileMe it probably was a server problem that finally got fixed. We've seen a lot of problems similar to this, i.e. web sites suddenly missing files after a publication and then suddenly fixing itself some time later.
Like your album/slideshows. What did you use for them.

Convert slideshow to an album?

I am using iphoto 5 for the first time to organize pictures. I made a large slideshow(450 pics) from my library. I wanted to make an album. Is there any way to convert a slideshow to an album?
One thing i want to do is to make a dvd of the pics that i can play on any regular dvd player. I want to show people my pics on their TV. I don't necessarily need a fancy slideshow. I would like to be able to pause on a picture.

Share -> Send to iDVD and make the disk with iDVD. You must do this with iDVD that’s the only app that can create a disk your “regular DVD player” will undersand.

Front Row can't slideshow same named album

This is what i noticed and thought i'd just share my problems. In front row, i use folders to organize my artwork, so like Project A will have a ProjectAfolder and have multiple albums: illustration, concept, roughs, etc... projectBfolder also has the same setup: illustrations, concepts, etc.
So in Front Row, if i goto Project B and select to slideshow the Illustration Album, but it'll play whichever folder was named Illustration first (in this example, photos from Project A would play).
So i take it same name albums is a no-go for Front Row. Anyone else have the same experience? I'd go and rename em all, but i have too many project folders that i'd rather just slide show straight from Iphoto than goto Front Row.

For clarity, the problem is that Front Row can't open iTunes in the background as it always did before. So it can't access the library for playing songs and movies, reason why it remains stuck when I try to do so.
I have Front Row 1.3.1 (the last version available for Tiger users, right?) and iTunes 8.0.2. My system is fully updated and kept well. So I think there is a kind of compatibility bug between Front Row 1.3.x and iTunes 8, in fact Leopard users with Front Row 2 installed are not experiencing troubles.
Hope someone at Apple can do a check on Front Row 1.3 and solve this with a fix.

Poster Frame ~ My Albums ?

Does anybody know how to change the poster frame pictures in a My Albums site to something other than the default first picture in each album. I know when you drag across each photo album on the page they will start to transition through all photos. I was just wondering if you could set a chosen picture from within the album to be the thing that somebody will see when initially opening the site?

The poster frame is the first photo in the album. The only way to get another photo is to move it to the front or duplicate a photo and put at the front. We're struck with what they give us.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.≤br>
Note: There now an Automator backup application for iPhoto 5 that will work with Tiger or Leopard.

Can't view slideshow once site is published

Hello-does anyone have any advice on this.
I published my website and then went to view it to find that it would not let me view the slideshow or click on a photo to enlarge. A box came up saying this...Firefox can't open because it cannot read the protocol.
Anyone ever have this problem

Some problems with Firefox 3 and iWeb were fixed in the latest version 2.0.4 of iWeb. If you're not already on iWeb 2.0.4, then upgrade to it via  menu > Software Update...
Then in iWeb do +Publish All+ and clear your browser's cache before viewing your slideshow.

Photo Album Publishing Problems

I have a site that I have published with a personal domain..not sure if the domain has anything to do with the problem or not...but when you try to view it on a PC you can see the site but sometimes you can't see the links across the top of the page (just a black dot) and you can't see the albums/photo galleries on the portfolio or floor plan page. Can some one give me suggestions and tell me how to solve this issue.
Again it only appears to be an issues for PC users but I am not certain.

I don't have a PC either. The person that I am creating the site for is using a PC and is having the issue. I will try to get a picture of the problem and post it - but the navigation menu s missing and also the albums aren't showing up on her PC.
I know it very frustrating when everything looks great on your end.

Album publishing workflow question

i am publishing various albums to flickr and mobileme and I'm wondering if someone would not mind helping me improve my workflow on this and/or help me understand the various ways of doing this.
right now I am dragging and dropping masters into an Album with the name that I want published and then I am selecting all the images and then publishing them. however, i have gotten a bit confused as to what to do when I want to add additional images to this published album. since i drag and drop /new/ images into the Album in Aperture it is a bit unwieldy to figure out how to update the online Albums.
right now all I can figure to do is to /also/ drag and drop /new/ images to the published album at the bottom, or to delete all the images in the published album and then drag and drop all the images (including the new ones) back to the published Album.
for the moment I really like the idea of having a dedicated album that also contains the published images but i am not really sure if the published albums at the bottom will do everything that a normal Album will do (like export to the desktop etc, etc).
anyone mind helping me streamline this?

Yes, I have this issue as well. The art downloaded in iTunes does not register with the Album Art Screen Saver. The only art that is registered is that which was obtained through third party widgets. I can only assume that the missing art is not being stored in the proper folder. I hope someone has a fix for this.

2 out of 6 imported flv files pausing on frame 1 when published

Hi,
I have six Scenes, each scene has an imported FLV file.
I have a 6 button menu that works fine when clicking from one scene to the other.
The problem is is that videos 1 to 4 play fine when I switch to the scene, but FLV files 5 and 6 just stay paused at frame 1.
If I test the Scene using Ctrl+ALT+Enter, the Scenes work fine.
But Only if I either hit Ctrl+Enter to render the whole project, or if I publish the file, do the FLV files pause on frame 1.
All 6 videos are coded exactly the same way.
Any suggestions please?

I'm wondering now if it some sort of memory thing or SWF limitation thing
The Scenes are Lessons 1 to 6
If I publish the SWF, then Lessons 1 - 4 play fine, 5 and 6 just sit at their frame 1 as if paused.
If I move the scenes around to say: Lessons, 5, 6, 1, 2, 3, 4
then 5, 6, 1 and2 play but now 3 and 4 are paused.
so it seems it affects the last 2 of the six scenes.
any one got any idea on why this might be happening?

Poster frame different once published

Hi,
I set my poster frame in a few seconds on my video clip .mov (because of the cool picture)... but when I publish to my site http://www.sarau.co.nz/Sarau_Media/Home.html the poster frame is at the beginning of the clip where there is no picture and looks wrong.
I save, publish all...not sure why its not staying on the poster frame I set?

Album vs Slideshow vs Smart Album

Hi,
I tried to change the order in a Smart Album, but with no luck.
Why can't you change the order in a Smart Album?
To me, slideshows and Albums are roughly the same. Ok, a slideshow can be altered much more for visual presentation. However the basics are the same, in both you can change the order of the pictures.
A Smart Album has the advantage of always showing ALL pictures applying to the Smart Album, however, now I want to change the order.
I don't want to end up having to make a Smart Album to collect all the photo's (when I import new ones, I don't need to drag and drop them to applicable albums) and then making a seperate Album or Slideshow, so I can change the order.
Anybody any advice on how to do this more efficient?

Why can't you change the order in a Smart Album?
You can. View Menu -> Sort Photos -> by keyword, by date, by title, ascending or descending
You cannot sort them manually, that's a characteristic of any Smart Item.

Photo doesn't fit slideshow frame

Is there a way within iPhoto '08 to make a photo fit properly on the screen when creating a slideshow? I have a series of photos and "full frame" photos fit fine, but photos shot vertically are cut off at the top of the screen.

In the slideshow settings deselect the option to "Scale photos to fill screen. That should fit the portrait photos to the monitor's height. It may, however, cause the landscape photos to have a bar at the left and and right depending on their size ratio in comparison to the monitor's ratio.

Burn slideshow made in Album setting to DVD

I created a very nice slide show using iphoto 9, added a song and used the scrapbook theme, however upon trying to burn it to a DVD I realized that I mistakenly created it while in an ALBUM and not a designated"slide show" folder. I created a new slide show folder and copied the pics to it, but the order is all out of sorts, the template is totally different, and not as nice as the original one made in the album setting.
I was able to export the album to the desktop and create a Quick Time file and a itunes file (?) but with regard to burning it to a DVD using iDVD is causing issues. Can a Quick Time folder be burned to a DVD?
Is there a way to export a album slide show with the scrapbook theme to a slide show folder while keeping the template the same. I have tried putting the pics into the slide show scrapbook template but the template is not as nice

the template is totally different
I'm a little confused by this comment. The theme choices available in the Album Slideshow and an iPhoto Slideshow are the same: Classic, Ken Burns, Scrapbook, Shatter, Sliding Panels, Snapshots
You should be able to choose the same theme you had in your Album slideshow in your iPhoto slideshow.
In regards to the order of your images that too can be retained.
If the images are arranged the way you want in your Album do the following:
__Click on the Album
__Click once on one of the images in the Album to highlight it
__Go to Edit > Selected All
__Click on the plus sign at the bottom left corner of iPhoto
__Click "Slideshow" at the top of the screen
__Check the box for "Use selected items in new slideshow"
__Click create
You should now have an iPhoto Slideshow with the pictures in the exact same order that they were in within the Album.
You can then click on theme and choose whatever theme you were using in the Album slideshow.
When you are ready to burn go to Share > Send to iDVD.

Photo slideshows from multiple albums

I am considering buy Apple TV just for use with photos, everything else is a bonus.
I know that in iPhoto you can select multiple albums and run them as a slideshow. Can you do the same with Apple TV or do you have to create one big slideshow in iPhoto ahead of time?

TV makes it's own slideshows from any of the albums you have synced from your iphoto library. So in short, you will need to make an album in iphoto with exactly what you want in your slideshow.
Not quite what you are after but on the up side, the slideshow in TV works really well, it is much simpler than creating a slideshow in iphoto, the only minor complaint I have about slideshows on TV is that the musc doesn't fade out as the slideshow finishes it just stops.

Photos Slideshow from iCloud Album Displays comments

When projecting a slideshow from a shared iCloud album standard iCloud Photo Sharing comments box (you know the like box) appear on bottom left over the projected photos. I can't find anyway to turn this off. There are no settings for this. Must be a bug?

When Apple support contacted, they acknowledged there was an issue with not all photos syncing
I haven't seen any issues posted in this forum before about missing pictures in albums, which hasn't been down to the file format being incompatible with tv, take a look at the photos which are missing are they all either JPEG, BMP, GIF, TIFF or PNG, if not they are not compatible.
Is any one else having problems?
I'm not experiencing this problem at all.
Also when trying to sync a iphoto slideshow, only the music plays on ATV, no images
Now that is strange, for now I'm going to assume that this might be that some of the photos in these slideshows are the photos that won't show up as per above. You are probably better solving the first issue before giving this one anymore thought.

Slideshow frame only- not controls

I would like to put a slideshow on my website but I don't want any controls to show at all. Is there any way to do that? I read the threads on here but didn't find any that talked about it.
