No Software for Zen on a MAC OS

Hello everyone!
I just got myself a G5 Imac on Nov st and today I got my MP3 back from Creative [for fixing the head phone jack] and I'm trying to install software so I can upload my music and I just realized I can't find any MAC software. Any MAC users with a Zen Micro have any suggestions?

What is the utility software for G3 Beige on Mac OS 10.2.8?

I have heard a lot of bad experience or bad things about SystemWorks for Mac OS X. G3 Beige Desktop cannot boot up with TechTool Pro 4 or DsikWarrier. Is there any utility software, other than the Disk Utility inside the Mac OS 10.2.8, that can help restore the errors? By the way, my G3 233 MHz/300 MHz has a G4/500 MHz upgrade processor now.

Indeed, I have done much to my G3 Beige. It is a wonderful machine.
I did not study computer, but have been very enthusiastic in working with computers. I have upgraded several of my computers and enjoyed the work very much. However, I have come to realized that upgrading an old computer is very costly and, sometimes, very frustrating. A good example is the work on my G3. I bought the OWC upgrade G4/500 MHz at $99.00. It has not been as good as OWC claims. Perhaps, partly because of the hard drives and probably something wrong with the processor, I cannot boot back and forth between Mac OS 9.2.2 and Mac OS 10.2.8. Probably the speed of data access is slower with my small 15 GB and 20 GB hard drives. The processor always tries to boot Mac OS 9.2.2 if I boot into the version once. Besides, I cannot boot DVD Mac OS 10.3 and 10.4. Therefore, I love to install Mac OS 10.4 onto my G3, but have had no luck. I thought that the upgrade should give my G3 to run Mac OS 10.3 and up without the need of Xfacto. Am I right?
I have installed and reinstalled Mac OS 10.2.8 many times because i do not like any errors in the software. I finally found out that there is glitch with the Apple security update 2005-001 for Mac OS 10.2.8. This update is particularly needed for Safari. However, as soon as I installed the update, the Disk Utility can never repair the permissions.
If you really want to upgrade your G3, I know you will consult with other people about their experience in using certain makers' products. I have a G4 AGP 350 MHz. I bought an OWC G4 1.4 GHz processor upgrade. It is really fast in running Mac OS 9.2.2 and up to Mac OS 10.2.8. But crashed unexpectedly and frequently after I installed Mac OS 10.3.5 and then to Mac OS 10.4.4. I thought that it was insufficient power. Some members of this forum even suggested that the RAM sticks were the possible source of problems. I have done every possible experiments to no avail. I finally about to give up and replace the original G4 350 MHz back. Just before I did that, I decided to give a try of slowing down the speed to 1.3 GHz. Guess what? The computer suddenly stopped crashes. When I clocked up the speed to 1.4 GHz again, the computer crashed again. So, the guarantee by OWC to run at 1.4 GHz is really not true.
Well, I shall stop upgrading any of my computers, and want save up some money for a new G5 Powerbook or iMac. Because I have to dome desktop work, perhaps a G5 Powerbook with a docking is a good choice.

What is the best FTP software for Dreamweaver using a Mac OS X?

I have tried several FTP softwares that I found listed on th net. None seem to work well. I was able to retrieve all of my web pages off the internet with my current FTP but the FTP will not list the current changes on the local side.

I had discussed this with a Nancy O on the forum.
The problem I found was the following. A little history.
I have done about 45 web sites for clients. I no longer do them except for four pro bono sites.
Some of the sites have not been updated for over a year and a half.
I was using PC's for 20 years. I had a glitch and contacted the particular software company.
They sent me to the Philippines. The person took control of my computer and burned my hard drive.
In Jan 2012, I purchased a Mac OS X.
I also purchased Dreamweaver for Mac in Feb of 2012.
I was able to make changes on a couple of the sites using Dreamweaver and a FTP trial.
Everything worked perfectly.
Day before yesterday I had some changes for a pro bono client.
No big deal or so I thought.
1st - since I had no FTP now I purchased ClassicFTP for Mac.
I went to Dreamweaver for the site pages and found that the pages listed on the local side were from pages I did several years ago.
This was upsetting. I was able to get the remote side (which was current) on the FTP.
But I could not in any way pull up the current site on Dreamweaver.
Talking to Nancy O. on the forum, she guided me to the Files on the right of the Dreamweaver display.
I was able to load the current pages in Dreamweaver.
After making the changes required I did the proper save on the pages. Note: I had also deleted Dreamweaver and downloaded it again thinking there was a glitch. The same with ClassicFTP.
Bringing up ClassicFTP the local had the old pages listed again.
Now I am at an impasse and that where I am at this time. Frustrated.
So any helpful solution will be appreciated.

Can't Install Any Software for Zen Mi

Recently, I had to reformat my computer and I was in the process of reinstalling all of my programs and software. I was attempting to install the latest version of Creative MediaSource (3.30.2) and after the installer was unpacked, the program prompted me with a message saying no compatible device could be found. Meanwhile, I had the MP3 player plugged in and it was being recognized by my computer. I could access its files through Explorer and I could also access the files contained on it through Windows Media Player .
So I tried to install the Creative Jukebox plugin .30.03 and then do the installation again. Once more, I received the same error message and could not get the program to install. I also tried to install the latest version of the Zen Micro Media Explorer (although I don't want or plan to use this software), but I received an identical message.
I am wondering what could be the problem here. I have my Zen flashed to the latest firmware, the Plays-For-Sure version. I do have my original Zen Micro CD, but I would prefer to not have to install and older driver or version of MediaSource and the upgrade. However, I don't really know what my options are. Can anyone give me some help?

Downloading software for zen mi

i really need help on this one. i cannot figure out how to back up the audio and data files on my zen micro. it says to download playforsure, u need to first back up all the audio and data files on ur mp3 player. the problem is, i dont know how to do that and i also cannot get my micro to be recognized when i plug it in. it makes the sound when i plug it in that it always did so i guess it's recognized, but the songs r not popping up in creative mediasource player like it used to(we wiped the hard dri've). if u have any ideas on how to do this please respond rite now! i'm leaving next friday for mexico and i really need my music cuz we're driving. please help!

HELP! Can't load software for Zen Micro 6

I'm running on Windows 98 (I know, I know) and when I try to install the software from the CD, I get a few error messages saying certain .dll files cannot be copied. Then, at the end, when it stays at "loading drivers" forever. Doesn't freeze, because the program seems acti've, but it's taking FAR too long for this to be the normal protocol.

Hummm. Usually when you get errors during install it means either (a) there's a problem with your Windows install or (b) something is interfering with the install.
See if you can install in Safe Mode.

Antivirus software for Windows 7 on Mac

I recently installed Windows 7 on my MacPro and was wondering if I need to install an antivirus software program for Windows 7? I have researched and still have not found an answer.

I would get the driver and utilities from here, since many have probably changed.
Install the chipset software followed by the display driver prior to any other drivers. Install the Common Modules before any other Toshiba utilities. I have attached the suggested installation order for the European equivalent of your model.

Antivirus Software For PowerPC AND Intel Macs

Thanks to the following instructions posted on MacFixit.com, ClamXav works on both my Macs (one G4 Powerbook and one Intel Imac):
"Hello, I have gotten the PowerPC version of ClamXav working with very little issue and works perfect from my test. To get it running, launch it normal and let it bounce for 10 seconds. After that, force quit it and on the program, right click or hold Ctrl and left click and then click show package contents. After that, go to contents and then resources and run 'clamavEngineInstaller.pkg'. After that, run as usual."
Google "ClamXav Intel MacFixit" to find the instructions.
Download ClamXav at www.clamxav.com.
It is freeware but I found it well worth donating to.

Welcome aboard Jany,No need to get your panties all bunched up about running Windows on your Mac...The beauty of running Windows on the Mac is even if the windows partition does get zaped with spyware and virusus it won't and can't jump over to your os10 partition...If you think about it why surf with the windows side when you can use Safari or Firefox on the Mac while running your Windows apps at the same time?
There area few percautions you can take to put yourself at rest, first make sure to always let Windows updates install themselves if you are going to surf the internet with Windows....also use Microsoft Defender which IMO is a great spyware program. Make sure that you have a router which does block unwanted incoming traffic or just do what I do and turn off your internet connection on the Windows side,that will guarantee no spyware or virusus.
Im sure many people will have more suggestions for you and Welcome to the world of Mac's.

Palm Desktop Software for OS 7.1 Mac Intel

Does anyone know of software download that works on a 15" PowerBook Pro, Intel running OS 7.2.1? I have old version and need to download data from my harddrive.

Please check the model designation.
If it has an Intel processor, it would be a MacBook Pro, not a PowerBook Pro (not sure if the designation PowerBook Pro was ever used).
And, if it is an Intel processor model, it can not be running OS 7.2.1. Nor even OS 9.2.1. It would need to be running some version of OS X - the first ones shipped with OS X 10.4.5, the latest ones with OS X 10.7.2

Benchmarking software for Intel Core Duo macs?

Does anyone know of any benchmarking software or programs like 3DMark that can run on these Intel iMacs?

xbench 1.2 is supposely universal binary, but I don't think it is really optimized yet to accurately measure the speed of the intel iMacs.

You may need to do a clean uninstall but I would try a simple uninstall and reinstall of Palm software on your PC first. Be sure your device is disconnected from your computer for this process. Open your Control Panel on your PC and then go to Add/ Remove Programs. Remove the Palm (or PalmOne software). Once that is done go to http://www.palm.com/us/support/palmdesktop.html to download and install Palm Desktop.
Hopefully this resolves the issue but if it doesn't let me know. Also, contact me if you have any further questions or concerns about anything.
