  • No sound after trying to install audio unit

After trying to install M-Tron and failing, G Media instructed me to dump M-Tron and start over. Now I have no sound at all from Garageband. Any suggestions? Do I need to reload Garageband and if so, how? it came w/the iMac.

Software inst., previous soundfiles, loops. The volume indicator shows a good strong signal playing. It is just not making it to the speakers which are working when I play something on iTunes. Garageband was playing fine a couple of days ago so I'm thinking is that it is a Garageband problem possibly caused by my problems with loading M-Tron.

  • No sound after windows 10 install

I installed windows 10 Enterprise on separate partition with windows 7 on a different partition it boots fine and lets me choose which system on boot.  Windows 7 works fine as always including sound, so that eliminates hardware issues, but when I
boot into Windows 10 their is not sound.  I tried playing cds, dvds, and video files but no sound.  I tried hulu and netflix still no sound.  I checked the sound mixer and it looks fine.  I checked the driver in the device manager for the
sound card and it says its working properly but still no sound.  I welcome any suggestions.  My motherboard is a MSI MS-7788 and the sound card is a realtek hd audio.  I also tried the audio troubleshooting app but no issues were detected.

Go into services and start Windows audio, doing it as admin. My machine does this constantly. Evens sometimes, cannot start the windows audio service and forced to reboot. When the service won't start, says that the account I am using is not the same as
some of the other services that use audio. Dependencies show RPC is involved and have not checked further into why RDC is listed. Not sure why after some minutes passes, the services again stops, was not set to even start, not maunal, not delayed auto or auto.
I have it set to auto now but it still keeps stopping on its own, and sometimes requires a reboot. Does not hold the settings in services if I change it, even as an admin.

  • No sound after Win 7 install w/Pavillion a1430n

Hey, I've just did a full install of Windows 7 on my HP Pavillion A1430N and I've got no sound. Got the red x next to the speaker in the icon tray. I've seen while searching that loosing the sound is common with this upgrade/install, but I haven't seen my issue specifically. When I do the sound troubleshooter, it claims that the speaker/headphones are not connected. Though they are. I've connected front and back of PC using the designated jacks and have used two different sets of speakers. The device manager says that there is a sound device and that it is working properly. When I hit the tabs for more details on the driver, etc.., I get a very generic, "High Definition Audio Device", but no specifics. Says driver version 6.1.7600.16385, by microsoft. appreciate the help

  • No sound after windows 7 install on T60p

    1. connect the Win7 to internet...it should find drivers with WindowsUpdate
    2. there is a program on Lenovo site...it can find all the drivers needed 4 ur computer...have to look & home how is it called?check download: http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/thinkpad-t-series-laptops/thinkpad-t60
    3. also, check FAQs here: http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/thinkpad-t-series-laptops/thinkpad-t60

Another thing that might be close...
I've installed Win7 64-bit on a second HDD. It is Ok to choose boot with 'option' key, but another option is missing: while in win7 apple's bootcamp control panel shows both MacHD and Win7 bootable partitions, so I can tell 'software way' to boot to win or to Snow Leo. It's OK. However when I open 'startup disk' in OS X there's only Mac HD so if I need to reboot to windows I can't just do it with several clicks. I actually have to shut down OS X, wait for boot screen, press option and then wait for the boot options to appear and them choose. It's 'a bit' annoying, let alone windows version of bootcamp seems to do the job smarter. And it really is a good thing to choose "reboot into desired OS" with a click and go to kitchen for tea or something and not seat in front of the machine waiting for boot screen...
Am I missing something? Is it done the other way then 'system preferences>startup disk'?

  • [SOLVED] EeePC 1001PXD, ALSA - no sound after installation

After Installation I Installed first Pulseaudio, then ALSA, but still I have no sound. Arch is up to date. I checked sound in Mint, so it isn't hardware problem.
Drivers seem to be ok, I also unmuted all channels in alsamixer. speaker-test doesn't produce any noise. I have no idea why it doesn't work. Help, please.

It looks like I have similar issue to http://superuser.com/questions/379964/a … ot-working.
ALSA works with linux-lts kernel, while doesn't work with current 3.5.3-1 kernel from Arch repo.
    Edit:
Now ALSA works also under 3.5.3-1 kernel. Here's what helped:
    alsactl init

  • Videos on my macbook pro won't play sound after apple tv was installed in the house

Hi! Need some help... for christmas my dad received the little black Apple TV device to watch videos on our big tv from his iPad. After it was installed no sound came from my macbook, it instead comes out of the tv speakers. When dad is airplaying a video from his iPad and I open a video on my mac, the iPad video gets interrupted and the sound from my video comes on without the visual. What's going on?! I see the airplay symbol on the top right bar but it always says disconnected, yet obviously the sound is somehow connected.

    that figures, VLC.
Consider getting your dad the APP VLC streamer  for his Ipad, that way he can wifi beam movies etc. to his Ipad from any Mac.
removes putting movies on an Ipad and clogging it up with large movie files.  Very handy

  • So long sound after installing iTunes 7.7

Upgraded to iTunes 7.7. Had no issue with the download, installed just fine. Closed down iTunes and re-opened to ensure updates were correct. Had a window pop up stating, "iTunes has detected a problem w/ audio configuration. Audio/Video playback may not operate properly". This was immediately after the install of 7.7, iTunes was working properly on older version. Checked other media programs (Windows Media Player), nothing will play any audio or video files. Also tried re-booting, no luck. According to my system info, my sound card is not installed. Re-installing the sound card is separate issue, but issues of 7.7 causing this problem before? Any suggestions or tips to downgrade to older iTunes. I have a 2nd Gen. Nano if that makes a difference. (Never had issues before when upgrading versions.)

I ran disk utility from my Leopard DVD, repaired the disk. The sound worked upon restarting.

A small update to this issue....
I have been trawling the forums to find an answer but to no avail...
And... I've tried exporting and bouncing individual stems and the full session, either by muting all bar the stem or soloing the stem.....and still nothing.
Same problems.....everything is audible in audition but nothing plays on playback.
Since the 'prelisten' channel strip is Solo safe this would indicate that you have a track or channel strip soloed somewhere else, out of sight. Are the Mute buttons on your channel strips blinking?

  • No sound after installing windows 7 on HP Pavilion dv1710us Notebook PC

I recently helped my uncle install windows 7 on his HP Pavilion dv1710us Notebook PC
and there was no sound after installation.. i downloaded several drivers for the realtek high definition audio driver (R2.39, 38, 37, etc)
then i tried the original driver from the HP drivers page and installed it.
usually when there is no sound, there would be a red X on the volume icon, but when i installed the original driver from the HP drivers page, there was no more red X.. Thinking that the sound was fixed, I tried to go on youtube and watch a video... i see the green bar moving up and down on the volume slide, but then i can't hear anything.
So is there any realtek high definition audio driver compatible for windows 7 on the HP pavilion dv1710us?
Is there something I have to do, like right click on the application and then change compatibility settings?
    thanks in advance.

I got it to work with windows 7 32 bit. I just went to hp website to support and downloads section. Type in your model number, then select windows xp as the operating system. Then download the audio driver and save it to your desktop. After the file is on your desktop you need to right click on it and click properties, then go to compatability tab and tell it to install as windows xp service pack 3. Hit apply then install. Hope it works for ya, worked for me.

  • Lack of sound after Window 7 (64) installation into iMac OX 10.6.7. Tried to install driver from Snow Lepard disc (Cirrus 64).Wizard installed driver. No sound, Device Manager indicated that "driver is not installed" but also that the"device is working"

I don't know how to proceed. I didn't have sound after installing Windows 7 inot iMac OX 10.6.7 (64bit) After unsuccessful attempt to upgrade the driver from the BootCamp  file, I deleted the driver from the Sound and Game controlled hoping that I would allow me to automatically install the correct driver from Boot camp.
Now the Sound Video Game controller disappeared from the Device Manager
How can I find out which is the correct sound driver for my computer (The Speaker Properties only say:WIndows)?
How can I install it without seing the Sound and Game controller in the Device Manager?

When you say "manually download", you mean from the BootCamp File on Snow Leopard, or from the Internet.
My additional problem is that the "Sound and Video Game Controller" disappeared from the Device Manager when I removed the previous driver. I don't find the place where I can reistall the new driver.

  • Portege 3110ct has no sound after installing XP Pro

I'm a novice when it comes to laptops, so here is the problem: My 3110ct has no sound after installing XP Pro. Didn't have sound when I bought it with another operating system on, report says no sound device installed.
Does this mean I need to get a chip for the laptop or is it a driver I need & where can I find the part or the driver for this.
    Please help.

Usually if the sound driver was not installed you will get no sound but also a yellow exclamation mark should appear in the device manager.
If the sound card chip is damage I presume you will be not able to see the yellow exclamation belonging to the sound card in the device manager.
You bought this Portg as a second hand unit. Am I right?
So possibly the sound card is faulty.
The computer uses a ESS ES1978 (Maestro-2E) and ES1918 sound chip.
Check if you can find an XP sound driver in the internet.

I cannot find your audio driver on HP's support page, but I was able to locate this one, which is the same driver as yours, just the most recent version. According to what is listed, it supports Windows 8. Give it a shot and let me know if it works for you.
