No sound alerts when I'm sleeping

My BB could go into bedside mode so that I wouldn't get alarms when I'm sleeping.
Can an Iphone 4s do this.Seems like a simple request

Reset iPad
Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
Note: Data will not be affected.

Thanks for your reply. But there's still no beep sound alert when it start to charge?

There is no " beep" sound alert when the totally flat battery start to charge for my iPhone 5

Problem solved. I tore the phone down and did another, the third one, liquid repair and clean on it and to my surprise it fired right up with absolutely no signs of damage and all functions working perfectly.

  • Iphone doesn't make a sound alert when get texts many times

Has anyone else noticed that sometimes you get a sound alert that you got a text and many times you do not?

    Hello, Nina1125.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
I would make sure that you have a Text Tone set in Settings > Sounds.  If your device is witched to silent Text Tones will not be audible.

  • How do I stop the annoying sound alerts when opening up a new production?

I'm sure I'm not the only one going through this so I thought I'd ask. I'm running FCSver and whenever I open up a new production or asset, I get this annoying "alert" sound effect (the Sosumi under system preferences), and I was wondering if anyone knew how to turn this off. I'll keep looking, and I'll post if I find anything, but if anyone knew the answer, or could point me to another post, I'd really appreciate it.
    Thanks in advance.

I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that you've got a custom timecode field somewhere in your production and/or asset metadata group(s), right? And I'm going to further guess that this timecode field has dashes in it like this --:--:--:--, right? If so, try this: Click the arrow next to the timecode field and adjust the timecode so that it has a number (it doesn't matter what the number is as long it's not dashes - "00:00:00:00" is fine). Then Save this asset, close it and then reopen it and see if the beeping madness has vanished. Then, to make this change permanent for all of your new assets, make sure to edit the default value of any custom timecode fields to put zeros (or some other numeric default value) into them when a new asset is generated. If the asset still beeps when you open it, check the other metadata groups in your set to see if there isn't another empty timecode field lurking in the shadows.

  • Sound Alert for Incoming Mail Not Working

I have searched for a solution to above but not found any. All settings are correct in Mail Preferences and Sound Preferences but the lack of a sound alert when mail arrives still persists.
This problem exists on all three Macs - 15' MBP, 24 iMac and 27" iMac - how weird is that?
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Joe

Joe, go to Mail --> Preferences --> Accounts. Now do this in each account affected - click Advanced and uncheck "Use IDLE command if the server supports it".
Now send yourself some test messages. You should now hear the new mail chime. Let us know if this resolves your issue. Cheers!

  • Charge sound alert on Ipad

The sound alert when starting to charge has disappeared. This is no doubt due to a change in settings. How do I restore this sound?

You cannot charge the sound, but it could be and probably has been muted with system sounds.
If you lost sounds for keyboard clicks, games or other apps, email notifications and other notifications, system sounds may have been muted.
System sounds can be muted and controlled two different ways. The screen lock rotation can be controlled in the same manner as well.
Settings>General>Use Side Switch to: Mute System sounds. If this option is selected, the switch on the side of the iPad above the volume rocker will mute system sounds.
If you choose Lock Screen Rotation, then the switch locks the screen. If the screen is locked, you will see a lock icon in the upper right corner next to the battery indicator gauge.
If you have the side switch set to lock screen rotation then the system sound control is in the task bar. Double tap the home button and in the task bar at the bottom, swipe all the way to the right. The speaker icon is all the way to the left. Tap on it and system sounds will return.
If you have the side switch set to mute system sounds, then the screen lock rotation can be accessed via the task bar in the same manner as described above.

  • I am not getting sound notifications when I receive text messages anymore.  A few will come through, but I have the volume on high and I will look down and see I have missed messages even though the phone is in my pocket or purse.  Is this common?

Lately I have noticed that I am not receiving sound alerts when I receive an imessage or text.  This is intermittent, as it does not occur ALL the time, just frequently enough to be annoying.  Anyone else having this problem?  I just updated the IOS, but my friend says hers does the same, before and after the updat.

  • E-mail sound alert on iPhone4s

I have an iPhone 4s and GMail app. I would like a sound alert when I get a new e-mail. Is this possible  and if so how do I do it? So far nothing has worked. If  anyone knows how to do this I would be grateful.

I had/have the same problem on my iMac and MacbookAir. It didn't start right away (I don't think). I called Apple Support and they had me check to see if the Send mail .aiff file was in the package. It wasn't. After elevation to a higher level I was told to plug in earphones, send a test message, unplug them and send another test message. It had come back. Great. But have rebooted a couple of times and it's gone again. I can bring it back with the earphone trick but it is clearly a bug in Mountain Lion. Look forward to it being fixed.

  • Facebook sound alert option dissapeared?!

    Hi,
I am totally new to the world of blackberry! But under the ring tones/alerts section there was an option to have a sound alert for facebook, which i was using. I then noticed a couple of days ago, there was no longer a sound alert when i got a facebook message, and the option to chose one has dissapeared from the ring tones/alerts section.
anyone else had this problem or know a resolution it would be greatly appreciated. thanks

    Hello,
I think you can try two things : the soft reboot, and if it does not work, the hard reboot. Don't worry, you can't lose data with these two reboots.
    Soft reboot :
    1) Hit the three following keys at the same time :
    - Alt
    - Right Shift
    - Delete
    2) wait 2 minutes for the Blackberry to wake up.
    Hard reboot :
    1) your Blackberry device is on
    2) remove the battery and wait for a minute
    3) Put the battery back
    4) wait 5 minutes for the device to wake up.
Please tell us if it works for you.

  • No sound alert on new message on E65.help..

i have an E65 for about 2 monthes. never had that problem.
in the past few days, i find new messages on my phone, with no sound alert when i recive them. the phone plays sounds regularly. thats the only problem i know of. please help.

Hello, I have the same problem with my e65. It happened basically overnight. I took it back to the shop I bought it from and they told me it was most likely a software glitch from updates Nokia send out. Anyways, I was told that I would have to take it to Nokia and it would take 6 to 8 weeks to be fixed. This is completely inconvenient. I would love to know what else I can do to fix the problem. Have you had any luck in fixing your phone?

  • IOS 8.1 installed yesterday has spoilt my iPad 2! There are no keyboard, message or app sounds, performance is now sluggish, juddery and strange, battery is draining fast and it no longer security locks when put to sleep.

I am so cross because iOS 8.1 installed yesterday has ruined my iPad 2! There are now no keyboard, message or app sounds, performance is slow, juddery and strange, the battery is draining fast and the iPad no longer security locks when put to sleep.  I have checked all the settings, done a number of resets and really wish I hadn't bothered and stayed with iOS 7 when it all worked like a dream.  I thought that by waiting until 8.1, teething problems would have been fixed and I am just horrified that there is no going back!  I am not the only iPad owner that has this set of problems so why didn't you warn us Apple!  What are you going to do to help us?  I do not want to be forced into buying a newer version of iPad because you broke this one!

In spite of the fact that you said you checked the settings, I still believe that you have system sounds muted.
If you have the side switch set to lock screen rotation then the system sound control is in the control center if you are running iOS 7. Swipe up from the bottom of the screen to get to control center . Tap on the bell icon and system sounds will return.
If you have the side switch set to mute system sounds, then the screen lock can be accessed in the same manner as described above.
This support article from Apple explains how the side switch works.

AS for your other issues, have you done any other troubleshooting like resetting your iPad, resetting all settings or doing a complete factory reset?

  • Missing sound + missing USB power (sometimes) from Thunderbolt Display when waking from sleep

    Hi
Two problems - one of which is driving med crazy!!
Have the latest updates, and the display is connected to a MBA (mid 2011).
The two are almost alwayes connected, and every time I wake the MBA from sleep, the Thunderbold Display does not "support usb sound" - the sound options are only MBA and headphones. Only a restart will give me the option to use Thunderbolt as sound output: WHAT TO DO!?!?!!
Sometimes when waking from sleep the USB in the Display seems to be "off" - the will not charge my devices (iPhone, iPad etc.). Only reboot seems to fix this... I have seen this in other discussions but not found a permanent solution - any thoughts?

Same here but reinstalling OSX is a bit drastic. I solved the problem by deleting a preference.
Go to Macintosh HD then System then Library then Preference panes then Sound.prefPane
Delete Sound.prefPane (you need to type your password).
    Logout or restart.
This has happend twice this week so WHY is this suddenly occurring?
    Hi,
I found this solution in the forum, but I can't find it again. I had cut and pasted it into a text file, because it solved my problem. I just don't want to take any credit for it. It did work for me. I had no problems for 3-4 weeks with the monitor, I have had the sound problem since last Friday. Very frustrating.
