No sound and don't know what to do

OK so i have a compaq presario f700 it used to run on windows vista and one of my friends tried to upgrade it to windows 7 and it worked somehow but the only thing that didnt worked was the sound and i have tried to fix it but i honestly don't know if it is possible to fix.
