No sound at all After Installat

I just bought a sound blaster li've 24 bit card last night installed it without a fuss the computer see's the card everywhere i.e volume control etc. I disabled my onboard integrated sound card but still no sound comes out of my speakers kinda stuck here any help?

I am also having this problem. Went to the store and bought a new Sound Blaster Li've 24 bit sound card. Installation of the card went fine, installation of the software went great. However no sound. I restarted, disabled my integrated sound card. My computer, also, see the card and says it's working fine. I am getting no sound out of two sets of speakers that I know work (one is digital one is analog). I ran the diagnostic and it said I passed. And also my microphone is not working. Thanks for any help with us as I believe we have the same problem...
Have an ASUS mobo with SoundMAX integrated audio. I am running Win2000 and have 52mb RAM, Athlon 2400+.

Hi, does the 10.4.6 update have a firmware update included ?, because after restart etc no sound at all eminates from my powerbooks built in sound.
No start up chime, system sounds .... nothing [only thing i can see in "sound on the system prefs is a greyed out "headphones" for output device]?
if so anyway of "going back" to a prior "firmware ? or has anybody else had this issue and resolved it ?

Audio works just fine in 10.4.6. Both of you have some contributing factor that is causing it to fail.

Save it as missing.reg (Make sure you include the Windows
Regestry Editor Version 5.00 line) and then double click on the
saved file to import it into your regestry and hey presto, you now
get sound of flash content. You may have to reedit your sound
scheme when you have finnished but at least flash content now works
properly.
Now, I can't hear sound at all and my computer refuses to
play CD's, iTunes, Windows Media Player, etc. Under 'sounds and
audio devices', it says that it can't find the location of my audio
codecs, legacy audio drivers, media control devices, legacy video
capture devices, and video codecs. Someone please help!! I'm going

No Sound At All After 1st Burn

I'm working in iDVD 6.0.4 and burn a DVD and everything is fine. The first DVD comes out great. When it asks me if I want to make another copy, I simply put another DVD in and it starts ripping away. However, the second DVD has absolutely no sound at all on any of the videos. The menus though, have sound. ???
Any clues?

Doesn't sound logical. A workaround is to duplicate your good DVD with Roxio Toast or Apple's Disk Utility.
Another approach is to Save As Disk Image from iDVD; make sure this virtual DVD works fine, and then copy the disk image to an actual disk with Disk Utility. Slow down the burn speed in Disk Utility (perhaps to half the speed of your burner, or to 1x or 2x, to reduce burning errors).

Well i just reinstalled Windows along with:
AMD 64 3700+
msi neo4-f
1gb ocz ddr400
250gb WD sata
x1900xt 512mb
x-fi xtrememusic
masscool 460w (made by sytrin)
and i am getting 0 sound. I cant get either of my onboard or my x-fi to work. I cant even get into windows with my x-fi installed.. it just keeps rebooting before it gets to the windows screen. I have the latest chipset drivers and have installed the latest realtek AC97 drivers as well (after uninstalling x-fi stuff)... What is going on?! The onboard sound worked fine before i reinstalled windows..

Please firstly make sure that your audio controller has been enabled in the bios; Then please check in the device manager to see whether there is yellow mark like"!" or "?" on the audio controller. If it is in that case, I suggest you uninstall the audio drivers and reisntall the drivers to have another try.

HT202157 For a while now sound is slow to come on with Apple TV. We have no sound at all after an hour. We are running with the 5.2 update.

Here is what worked for me:
My usb hub, being usb2, was too fast. I moved the wire to a usb port directory on my pc. That is a usb1 port which is slow enough to run your snyc.

No, sounds like when you dropped it an cracked the screen it may have also damaged the logic board or the repair person damaged a cable.

After Firefox updated to 3.6.12, my homepage stated that I did not have the Flash Player installed. The latest player was installed, but I uninstalled and attempted to re-install. The installation process worked, but the Adobe Flash banner on their page does not Flash like when a proper install occurs. The Adobe DLM add on will not allow me to change options on Firefox Addon page. Now Flash content on homepage will not play, and I am forced to use IE to view content.

After 5 minutes, all sound goes all grainy and distorted!! Using Logic Pro 8.
This happens especially if I crank the speakers semi-loud. This is not a problem with the speakers as Itunes plays perfectly. I have no idea why this is happening! The problem disappears when I restart Logic only to reappear again 5 minutes later.
The sound goes super grainy and I cant really make out anything. Is Logic overloading the sound card or something? Although this never happened before and it is a Tascam US-144, usually very good.
If anyone knows why this is happening I'd really appreciate some help.

Hello and thank you for your time! The speakers I do believe are active in that they have their own power source. They are Behringer MS40's. The headphones indeed also suffer the graininess, any sound that comes out of the sound card via Logic!
At the moment the buffer is at maximum of 1024 with a large Process Buffer Range as it runs more smoothly this way. Does it help if I change this? Is there any other settings I can try changing which may realistically fix the problem? Unfortunately the technical side is not my forte, being a songwriter rather than a producer.
Yes Itunes also plays via the Tascam with perfect results!
Unfortunately, this distorted sound and graininess happens with every Logic project, the more Audio tracks it seems, the more frequently.
You have been very kind, thank you. If you have any ideas of how I can fix this then please do let me know.
PS. Something I noticed is that this started happening after some guy screamed into the Mic for a laugh whilst recording and the project instantly crashed. I do believe there is a connection between the Audio tracks and the grainiess rather than the MIDI tracks.
Sometimes I can get a good 15/20 minutes of working time before the sound becomes distorted again! Which is what I've been doing these past 2 days.

Is it all apps or do Music and Videos apps still have sound ? If they do then have you got notifications muted ? Depending on what you've got Settings > General > Use Side Switch To set to (mute or rotation lock), then you can mute notifications by the switch on the right hand side of the iPad, or via the taskbar : double-click the home button; slide from the left; and it's the icon far left; press home again to exit the taskbar. Lost all sounds except ringtone after recent upgrade

No sound except ringtone after recent upgrade followed by the upgrade fix. Since the ringtone was only affected I didn't notice immediately! If I plug in my headphones everything works. Unable to use volume buttons on side unless headphones are plugged in, the volume symbol with white dots doesn't even appear anymore. The volume control in itunes music only works when plugged into headphones otherwise it can't be adjusted. Worked with apple support tried everything include a restore to new still no go! It appears that a few people are having the same problem and seems weird that it happened after last upgrade!

If you are unable to adjust the volume without headphones even after restoring, then the iPhone thinks it's plugged into a dock or cable. This is the behavor that will happen if you plug your iPhone in to the car or iHome dock to play you music and sounds, but a docked connection will never play ringtones through the dock connection and headphones override that dock connection which is why your headphones work.
How does the phone think its connected to a dock? Well, this can happen if the charging port gets wet at some point or if some trauma happens in there like pushing the cable in when it doesnt fit, etc.

Itunes sound stops working after 20 mins on videos bought from iTunes store.

On every video i've bought from the iTunes store the sound cuts out after approx 20 mins. I'm on windows 8.0 (completely up-to-date with all drivers up-to-date too) with the latest iTunes (11.1.3.8) and Quicktime (with enhancements switched off). PC is a quad core i7 with 16GB of memory with windows running on an SSD and my iTunes content on another internal HD (not an SSD). iTunes library is approx 24000 songs and 30 videos. i'm watching on a full HD monitor with external speakers and the PC is authorised to play iTunes content.
I've worked my way through all the iTunes support items around video chopping (which was happening too - now fixed) and audio issues but nothing helps e.g. I've switched off iTunes match and home sharing, switched off any audio enhancements in iTunes and my sound card (which is a Via chipset on my motherboard), switched the bit rate to 16 bit/44.1k on windows and itunes, uninstalled and re-installed iTunes etc, etc.
I did have an Apple TV on my network but I've disconnected it in case the sound was being routed to it after a period of time. This hasn't made any difference.
Has anyone had this issue and managed to fix it?

Myself as well, have been having this same problem, around 20 minutes into any movie I open up in my itunes library, the sound stops playing. I have yet to find any fix for the problem, although I have a thought that it is probably something to do with the buffering. My songs play just fine, all day long, but any movie only plays for 20 minutes and then the sound goes out. Additionally, I had another issue that kept popping up an error message everytime I tried to open Itunes, this was finally fixed via copy paste a corruptted (spelling) .dll file. The only "workaround" for this issue, that I have found, is to open the movie in QuickTime, even though I am not really excited about the QuickTime player. If anyone finds a better solution, please drop a line. thank you in advance.

No sound at ALL upgrading to iTunes 7

after upgrading to iTunes 7, I can't play ANY of my songs AT ALL in my library, they hang entirely, even the ones I purchased from the iTunes store.
am having the same problem inside the iTunes store trying to listen to 30 second clips of songs, either I get no sound at all, or the song freezes on the first second of playback and makes an annoying "da da da da da da da" sound..

well part of it anyway.
I had to set Quicktime audio settings to 24 bit (instead of 16) and then in iTunes, turn the volume slider all the way to the right..
and that fixed the problem so far (shrugs) still a little distorted, but sounds alot better now. iTunes wouldn't play at all in 8 or 16bit modes, I had to turn it up to 24bit, and then playback was all distorted and hissy so I upped the slider all the way and that fixed it.
nothing else affected it, tried disabling sound enhancer that had no effect whatsoever on it, enabling it didn't even make it sound any better, so I just left it off. weird. but I agree iTunes 7 needs some work.
