No sound at U305 S5077

No Audio output Device is instaled after Vista Home Premium atualization SP2. I've already gone first to the Toshiba Support Download and after to the Realtek web page and got the latest driver and instaled one after another but still not working. Help.

Hello,
   My toshiba laptop's audio is not working. I tried downloading the driver online, rebooting the computer to its factory default setting, and looking for other solution online, but I can't seem to get the sound working. When I go to the device manager, the sound icon is not there even after downloading the driver and restarting the computer. I don't know what else to do. Please help. Thanks.

When I go to the device manager, the sound icon is not there
On the other hand, when the device is missing from Device Manager, it normally indicates a hardware malfunction.

No Audio Output Device message on u305-s5077

I am showing the "NO AUDIO OUTPUT DEVICE" message. I have followed a few of the posts for similar laptops and and tried downloading new drivers which don't seem to be working.
In Device Manager, isn't there supposed to be a "sounds" tab or something to that effect? In System Devices, I see High Definition Audio Controller which says it's working fine.
Any suggestions to get Sound going again would be greatly appreciated.

Look under Sound, video and game controllers.
In the meantime, try reinstalling a driver. Try them both.

hi all
im running a u305 s 5077 under windows 7 and phoenix v.3.30 and i have a serius problem
i m going to use a program that needs some settings to run on my laptop such:
Under PERIPHERALS Set Parallel port to BI DIRECTIONAL
under CONFIGURATION set devices to ALL DEVICES
Under I/O Ports set Serial to COM 1 and Parallel to LP1
how can i apply these settings (no BIOS advanced settings appear)?
what will happen when i apply these?

No Sound on U305-S7467

Hello All,
I'm getting a Red X next to the speaker in the taskbar, when I put my cursor over the icon I get No Audio output Device is installed this happened after reinstalling Vista Home Premium. I went onto the Toshiba site and got the latest Realtek Audio driver which didn't do anything after installing it. Also, I noticed that when I go to the Device Manager theres no section for Sound, Video, or Game Controller. Any suggestions? Thank you!

thank you for your reply but I have also tried that which worked initially but now does not solve the problem! When it reboots I get a message saying the driver installation failed. There is another thread on the forum I have since found which seems to think it is a problem which occurs after installing service pack 2 (which is what I did!) and there is no known solution as yet. Would appreciate if anyone could disprove that theory though! Thanks

No audio & No Sound Folder

I lost my sound last week and I tried going to device manager to get to sound. However, there was no audio folder. I'm going crazy over here. I have a Toshiba Satellite U305 S5077. I even used the recovery disc and nothing. Can anyone help me? I really need sound because my autistic son uses software for learning. Thank you!

Ok I fixed my sound on my laptop... I just installed hardware for realtek and then took my battery out for the whole night and put it back in and I got sound...

"audio device not connected"

every time i start logic express, it says that my previously selected audio advice is not connected. but i always have it connected. anyone who can help out with this problem, what causes the problem? my advice is a t.c. electronic/konnekt24d

I, too, have a Satellite U305=S5077 laptop and I'm having a repeat of an earlier loss of sound -- No Audio Output Device is installed -- message.
For about a month, maybe less, I was able to get my audio working properly. Then I did what you are supposed to do, run the battery down to zero, so it will fully recharge, by leaving the computer running and unplugged from the AC power source. I did that. When I plugged the AC power cord back in and restarted the computer, I got a black restart page, telling me Windows had shut-down due to the battery not having enough power and was restarting. That's when I lost my audio again.
I still remember all the instructions for recovering my sound -- and went through a complete recovery and reloading of everything on this computer so that it would be in a "right-out-of-the-box" state. What a royal pain in the butt that was! Anyway, the first time I did all of this, recovery, reloading, complete power off shutdown, F9 then F10 at startup, downloading the latest Realtek software, running it, installing it, then having it all fail and not reload the sound when I was through. I got ticked off and shut off the computer overnight.
The next morning I go to work on the problem again, and guess what? Suddenly to my surprise, windows tells me "it" had discovered new hardware -- a sound card -- installed on my computer and it was going to install software for it. Restart and voilà, I suddenly have sound again!
Now I have no sound again!
Anyone want to buy a used Satellite U305-S5077 laptop computer?
Any suggestions -- other than throwing out the nearest window -- maybe that's why the call it "Windows" -- would be greatly appreciated.

Dvd drive came loose

My laptop (Satellite U305-S5077) fell off my desk and now I'm unable to play discs in my cd/dvd player. If I push in the drive a bit, the light next to the eject button goes on and I'm able to open the drive. However, other than that my computer won't even read the drive much less a cd or dvd.
I have a feeling there is a loose/damaged connection as a result of my clumsiness. The drive is protruding out slightly more than it was before the drop. Is there a way to remove the drive and put it back in? Should I let a professional handle this? Any advice is much appreciated.

i just got the same problem, my macbook pro is less then a week old and when it spat out a disk it also ripped the protective felt strip from the entrance to the optical drive, i just tore the last little bit off that was attached. these things are really annoying when you try and keep your macbook pro in pristine condition after spending nearly AU $4000 on it. should i take it back to the apple dealer from were i bought it? or just not worry about it.

Laptop sleeps every 15 minutes with sleep mode turned off

I have a Satellite U305-S5077 that won't continue to run for more than about 15 minutes if I'm not using the mouse or keyboard, even when I'm using it plugged in. The screen blanks and the power out stops to the TV to which it is hooked up. If I hit the mouse or keyboard it starts back up. I have set the screen saver to over 1000 minutes, I have set all the power management methods when plugged in to Off, and this hasn't affected this problem. Is there something else that I need to change or turn off in some setting? If so, what? Or any other diagnostic tips to track down what is causing the problem?

Sorry, I just figured this out. My wife had not fully plugged the laptop in so it was running on battery power without us realizing it. Problem solved.

U305-S2804 AUDIO DEVICE FAILLURE

My U305-S2804 lost sound driver and the speakers does not work. I installed the driver from CD and nothink. I downloaded the driver from this page and nothink. The speakers some times work when I start the laptop. In SOUND windows / PLAYBACK shows NOT AUDIO DEVICES ARE INSTALLED.

Needed all WXP SP2 drivers for Satellite U305-S2808

The Satellite U305-S2808 seems to support the Intel Graphics card X3100 with 64MB-251MB dynamically allocated shared graphics memory.
The driver could be found on the Intel page or on the Toshiba European driver page.
Check other U300 notebook series!
The sound driver seems to be from Realtek.
So you could find it also on Realtek website!!!

Lock ups and sound looping!

I remember reading something here about people having trouble with their systems locking up and then getting a loud static noise then a sound loop when playing games.
I am getting this about 2-3 times a night now and it is driving me nuts, I do not have temp problems of any sort and I have all of the latest drivers for everything on my system.
Any ideas?

My downloaded text sounds do not show up under the sounds tab in settings after installing 8.1.1. can someone help me please?

i downloaded a couple text tones and since installing 8.1.1, they will not show up under the sounds tab. in fact, they do not show up in my recent purchases on itunes, but when i go to buy them again, it says that i have already bought this tone. I just want to use the tones i paid for as the tones on my phone. not asking much.... thanks for the help. i hope someone can help me get the tones working. thank you.

This was happening to me too but only for some of my songs. I have a mac so I dunno about PCs, but for most of my ringtones I had to create an ACC version in itunes to make them short enough then turn that into a m4r and those all worked fine. But if the song was already short enough and I didn't create an ACC version and just turned the original into a m4r, then it wouldn't appear in my itunes.
so if you're on a mac:
1. go to get info, options, pick when you want the song to start and end.
     Has to be pretty short to work, 30 second or less is good
     if it's already short enough that's fine
2. right click and click 'create ACC version'
     a copy with the length you put in will appear, drag that into a folder or whatever and just type in m4r where m4a would be
     still make an ACC version even if it's the right length
Hopefully this helps someone else.

When i login to my account and it takes me to the desktop, the error sound plays, then the rainbow wheel appears, and finder immediately stops responding

It started yesterday when i was listening to itunes when all of a sudden the music stopped playing and i had to hold down the power button to shut it down and reboot, and then, when i logged back in, the error sound played, and then finder opened up, but the window was grayed out like i had another app selected, bu i didn't, so i tried to open up itunes and the icon started bouncing and then it stopped midbounce and i had to reboot again because finder wasnt responding. now when i log in, the error sound plays, and finder immediately stops working and then i have to reboot again because i cant click anything and i cant properly relaunch finder. please help

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, or by a peripheral device.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including Wi-Fi on certain iMacs. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin. Test while in safe mode. Same problem? After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.
