No sound dv6000

hi, i have a pavillion dv6000 with the conexant hd definiton smart audio hd2 sound card.  suddenly the other day my sound stopped working.  the speaker symbol in the lower left corner had a red symbol over it. when i hovered the mouse pointer over the symbol a box popped up saying that there was no sound card installed.  i have not installed/uninstalled anything prior to the sound stoping working.  i re-started my laptop and the sound worked again for a few min then stopped again.   did a hard restart, removed  the battery, started back up, same thing, sound for a min...i went into the device manager, tried to update the driver, it said the driver was up to date, i then un-installed the card and went through the help section of the hp site to scan for hardware, and re-install the drivers....same result, the sound works for a min then stops.  the speaker icon in the lower left is showing the card as being installed and working.  device manager says their's no problems.  when i play music the equilizer bars will bounce like there is sound playing but nothing from the speakers....i've googled this problem and it seems pretty commom with this laptop, everyone seems to ask the q about whats going on but there's never answere on how to fix it....so here i am. sorry for the novel.  thanks in advance!!

I am exactly getting the same issue at my end. Please help us if someone can...

  • HP pavilion dv6000 with windows 7 64 bit has no sound after disassembled.

    Hello there,
I have an HP Pavilion dv6000 and after i disassembled and reassembled it to clean the fan, the lap top has no sound. In the device manager an error on ''PCI bus9, Device 9, function 2 & 3'' was appeared but after i installed new drivers the errors was fixed and it was written that the device was working properly. but unfortunately the device is not working properly because i stills have no sound. I also disassembled and reassembled for second time to find out if the problem was minor like an unplugged cable but everything was completely fine. Operation system: Windows 7 64 bit.  Can someone please tell me what to do?

  • No sound on HP Pavillon dv6000

Hi everyone, I have a problem with my HP Pavillion dv6000 laptop's sound.  On the sound button on the taskbar, there is a
red circle with an X in it and it says "No Audio Output Device is installed."  None of the sound works, neither the speakers or
my headphones do anything.  On the device manager, it says "Windows cannot verify the digital signature for the drivers
required for this device. A recent hardware or software change might have installed a file that is signed incorrectly or
damaged, or that might be malicious software from an unknown source. (Code 52)."  I tried updating the driver, but it said
there was no update.  Also, the troubleshooter comes back with nothing every time.  I am using Windows 7.  This problem didn't happen when I updated the OS, because I never have updated the OS. I would really appreciate any help.
    Many thanks, number24

  • No sound device - HP Pavilion dv6000: p/n: KB354EA#UUW.

    Hello.
My fathers HP Pavilion dv6000 suddenly lost it's sound. When i try to press the sound-icon on the bottom (next to the clock) i it tells me that aren't registered any hardware changes, and when i hold the mouse over it, it says that there isn't installed a sound-output-device.
I'm not really smart on computers, so I was hoping that you guys could help me.
    Thanks!

    Hi
You have a couple of options as I see it.
Go to device manager and uninstall the Sound driver and restart and unit will install the driver automatically.
Try doing System restore to the date when the unit was working fine.
Try to update the driver from hp.com website for Audio & Bios.
Let us know how it goes!

  • I took my Pavilion dv6000 apart and now the sound isnt working

    So here is the situation...
My fan has been making noise so I wanted to clean out all the dust from inside my Pavilion dv6000. (But that isn't what i need help with right now.) So after I took it all apart and put it back together, I had this problem with turning the computer on. I think it had to do with this little ribbon cable that wasn't going in the spot where it had to be (it was connected to the power button chip.) I finally got that ribbon where it was suppose to be, and tried to turn it on. It still didnt start. The battery light would go on when it was plugged in, but nothing happened when I pushed the power button. I finally decided to give up and clean the finger prints off of it so I could bring it to my IT teacher tomorrow. While cleaning it, it all of a sudden turned on. I dont know what happened. It just turned on by itself. I mean, I could have pushed something while cleaning it, or maybe something was loose and tightened while i was cleaning it. But anyway, I finally got it to turn on. Now while doing homework, I notice the sound isnt working. I really dont want to take it apart if i dont have to becuase this is the last week of school and I need these practice tests that I put on my computer. I was wondering if there is anything I can do to possibly fix my audio without taking it apart. I was thinking if i check for the latest driver maybe that would help, but i have the latest driver and the sound still doesnt work. So does anyone know how I can fix this without taking it apart? If not does anyone know how I can fix it if i do take it apart? (for example, things to check to make sure they are connected or tightened?)
Thanks for your time and help, I really appreciate it.

  • Dv6000 harsh sounds from speaker

I have a hp pavillion dv6000 special edition notebook purchased 2 years back, from 2 months harsh sound are emitted from from the speakers whenever it is been used. Should i need to replace them. How much will it cost and where can i find a dealer in bangalore.

Have you tried the standard troubleshooting procedures such as powering your iPhone off and on and/or a reset, which is done by pressing and holding the home button and the sleep/wake or on/off button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo and then release - ignoring the slide to turn off prompt when doing so?
If so with no change, the next step is restoring your iPhone with iTunes and be sure to sync your iPhone with iTunes immediately before doing so to update your iPhone's backup if needed.
If no change after any or all, give AppleCare a call at (800) 694-7466, or make an appointment at an Apple Store if there is one nearby.

  • Sound suddenly nearly silent on HP Pavillion dv6000

Hi, My dv6000 laptop has suddenly lost any volume on the speakers. This seems to have happened since yesterday when I was using the laptop (extractor fan grill clear), the two speakers at the front suddenly became extremely hot. I wasnt using any sound at the time, but noticed how hot the two front parts had become, since then, no audible sounds.
When I play music at the highest volume you can hear a faint hint of the tune, but only vaguely. With some headphones its fine. I have tried changing all different settings, restarting laptop etc, but no luck. For anybody who has ever got their headphones wet, its a similar sound, quiet and muffled, although the laptop has had no opportunity to come into contact with water. Anybody have any solutions? Thanks

    Hello tzimenakis,

  • Loss of sound on HP Pavilion dV6000 - Vista

I've suddenly lost sound on my dV600 laptop.  Volume control shows 100% and small green bar moves when sound should be heard.  This is affecting all sound:  internet, cd's, stored music, etc.  Sound is fine when I plug in a headphone or external speaker.  Mixer shows "internal speaker/headphones" as the application - icon shows a headphone.  Other than a Window's update, I've changed nothing.   Can anyone help ?   Thanks.

You may have a driver issue, try uninstall the audio driver from add/remove programs in control panel.
Download and install vista audio driver from your support page.

  • Sound Issue HP Pavilion Dv6000 OS:Windows Vista 32-bit

After setting my notebook up to record vocals from a P.A. the internal speakers and two headphone in jacks are making a continuous, fast paced popping noise. No changes were made to the sound card or operating system previously to setting up the computer to record. The only cable I plugged in to the computer to record was a line in to the microhpone jack from the P.A. which is a setup I use to record guitars as well and have had no previous issues. The guitar amp I line out of is 75 watt amp and the P.A. is 60 watts so I don't think any kind of overload is an issue as to what cause the noise. I set volumes down on everything as a fail-safe before powering on the P.A but soon after I turned it on the speakers started making the noise. I'm unsure of what went wrong exactly but I can only draw two conclusions, either the sound card is fried or the input jacks on the computer shorted out. I disconnected the internal speakers so I can still use the computer without sound. Any help would be greatly appreciated with determining what is causing the noise or how to fix the problem would be greatly appreciated, thank you.
