No sound for Flash Plugin
Here's how the story goes. I was sitting around, eating 3d nachos and my buddy calls me and he's like "Dude, theres a new strongbad email".
I'm using mozilla-firefox, so I installed the flashplugin
pacman -S flashplugin
With my heart pounding, I quickly typed in "www.Homestarrunner.com"
I went to sbemails, but there was no sound. I unmuted all my ALSA volumes, and turned them all up to 100%. I have a SBLive Card. XMMS works when playing mp3s, but flash sounds don't work! You guys gotta help me out!
-bump-
I have no sound either.

Way to Upgrade Memory for Flash Plugin (v11) for Firefox (v10)?
Hello!
I've been searching far and wide for an answer to this to no avail, so I'm hoping someone here can help me. As a part of my position at work, I am trying to work with a web-based Flash application connected to a Java back-end server. The data being rendered on the Flash side is very large and expansive, with many containers/layers involved. Since the processing seems to stall, then eventually crash the Flash Plugin in Firefox, is there any way to bump up the memory assigned to the Flash Plugin from within Firefox? I did see that the memory allocation is controlled by the browser, not the Flash Plugin, but I have been unable to find any place that describes how to accomplish this memory adjustment within firefox for flash plugin at all.
Thanks, in advance, for your help!
--MichaelHi Michael,
Not that I know of but I'll forward this along to one of our Mozilla / Linux experts. Have you posted over on the Mozilla forums to see if anyone there can help?

Professional support for Flash plugin
Is there anyway to get professional support for Flash plugin on Firefox? Been suffering from constant crashes on every PC I use for several years. Standard suggestions like going to old version don't help. Thanks!
Adobe does not offer technical support for free products. This user-to-user forum is provided for your convenience, and the staff and volunteers that monitor it will try to help as a courtesy.

[SOLVED] No sound in Flash Plugins - Xonar D2X
There is no sound at all when I play any flash content, but my sound works for other applications no problem.
I'm running Google Chrome's built-in flash plugin
I'm running Pulse Audio with ALSA. I have installed pulseaudio and pulseaudio-alsa
I'm using Google Chrome's stable version from the AUR: google-chrome
My system is 64-bit
The Pulse Audio server is running fine
My sound card is an Asus Xonar D2X
I have the following kernel modules loaded that are associated with sound:

I have tried using the flash plugin in the official repositories: flashplugin .
There was no change.
I am out of ideas to attempt, what can I do to fix it?
Last edited by finalfortune (2014-02-12 10:38:48)Okay, my sound now magically works for flash. I initially had not restarted my pc after installing the above mentioned pulseaudio packages. I didn't think it necessary, not even sure if it is the restart that fixed it, but problem solved.
Though i did change my .asound.rc from
pcm.!default {
type plug
slave {
pcm "hw:0,0"
ctl.!default {
type hw
card 0
to
pcm.!default {
type hw
card 0
ctl.!default {
type hw
card 0
Not sure if that did anything

1. Which file formats are best for importing into CS3?
2. Is there any real benefit to importing stereo sound for

There are no best, each format is suitable for specific use
in the projects.
Over all we will import high quality audio file. It's easier
to set the export
quality versus the file size to find the perfect output. The
imported file will
only have impact on the FLA, sizewise. SWF size will be based
on the compression
you chose.

If you want to have good quality audio, then sure, why not.
It's all project based
and how you want it.

Sorry, no idea, never used any free apps. Try google.

I have flash objects on my website. I noticed that in Firefox
they don't show up if someone doesn't have the plugin. All that is
there is a blank space. I need to know how to ensure that people
download the plugin if they don't already have it. I know there is
a code for it. Anyone know what it is and where I put it?
Thanks!

I am curious about where I can find sound files that I can use in Flash CS4 or some software that may be usefull in creating/editing/converting sound files to .wav or .mp3 for use in Flash. I should probably also note that although I do have Flash CS4 I am very low on funds for software,
Thank You much in advance. While quality free sound files are often hard to find to match a specific need, you can try searching Google for some different sites that offer them. One resource that may be useful for you is the Flash Kit site... generally they have a variety of free offerings to support different elements of Flash design...

No sound for flash in Camino or Safari
It seems as websites with flash requirement I get no sound with Camino or Safari. For example, no sound from any of the video on youtube and couple of the flash websites -- www.2advanced.com
Someone mentioned to run garage band to play some keys and return to the video, then the sound would come back. The only problem is I erased garage band...
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

What is the meaning of crash report F190525052 for Flash plugin?
Flash plug in is regularly crashing when streaming ESPN3.
You'll have to check with Adobe support about that crash report. <br />
http://forums.adobe.com/index.jspa
Firefox uses a much longer Crash Report id string, and it doesn't start with an '''F'''. -
Flash plugin only crashing in Mozilla
Have trouble when navigating facebook.
Mozilla hangs for 5 to 6 seconds, freezing every mozilla tab or window that is open and sometimes crashes.
On facebook I get the "script is taking too long" message but I suspect that it has something to do with flash cause from time to time I get the plugin container failed related to flash and some other weird behaviour with flash (see below)
Things I tried:
- Disable every plugin.
- Running safe mode
- Refresh Firefox
- Disable hardware accelleration on the flash plugin
- Disable safe mode for Flash plugin
- Completely uninstal flash according to this procedure:
https://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/uninstall-flash-player-windows.html
I am running a recently freshly instaled win 8.1 on a 12GB RAM i7 quad processor.
The thing that makes me suspect is that according to this link:
https://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/video-playback-issues.html#main_Solve_video_playback_issues
When I right click the flash logo for that procedure, Mozilla freezes, nothing gets displayed and some seconds later I get a "Shockwave Flash might be busy... stop plugin..." message
This is very annoying and I want to use Firefox but have been forced to chrome lately cause I cannot find this problem.
Please, any help is appreciated.

Main problem is not using or not using flash.
Main problem is with facebook page hanging mozilla for several seconds at a time and sometimes getting "script is taking too long" I guess this have to do with the scritp that loads posts on your facebook wall as you scroll down but cannot find what is causing that.
This only happens with Mozilla.
Searching for the cause, I found that odd behaviour with flash on that page wich maybe suggest the problem is there but I still haven't found a solution.

I updated the Adobe Flash plugin this morning. I have tried turning the computer off and powering back up with no difference. My volume controls are not muted and volume is not affected in non-Internet applications.
Your above posted list of installed plugins doesn't show the Flash plugin for Firefox.<br />

How to enable sound in Adobe Flash plugin in Linux ?
I installed the Flash plugin from Adobe's yum repo, but there is no sound. When I look on the online settings manager, there is no control to set the sound output device.
On my system, there are multiple sound devices, only one of which works for playback - hw:1,0 in ALSA. In applications which
allow me to choose an audio device, that works.
The Totem media player, like Flash, has no audio settings.
But when I use gnome-sound-properties to set the default playback device to "ALC889 analog", Totem works. Flash does not.No, no pulseaudio
However, I've solved it. Per http://www.seehuhn.de/pages/alsa, If I set the default ALSA device to card 1, then restart Firefox, Flash sound works. As does "aplay" with no options.
This also works to fix the same issue with the built-in OGG player in Firefox, per my question https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/929698 -
Flash plugin with firefox 3, no sound [SOLVED]

I nstalled the suggested lib32-alsa-lib package, but nothing changed. When I launch firefox I get the following errors:

It tries to load the 32 bit flash plugin because it is in /usr/lib/mozilla, but I have the wrapped version in $HOME/.mozilla/plugins. The relevant error seems to be the no soundwrapper.
You might notice that I am running KDE4 svn but I don't think this has to do with the problem.
Did anyone have a similar problem?

I would check the installation of nspluginwrapper and nspluginwrapper-flash because lib32-alsa-lib is listed as a dependency in the nspluginwrapper-flash PKGBUILD and so should not have to be installed manually. Also, did you run "nspluginwrapper -v -a -i" as your user and not as root after installation? -

Setting Error on Mac OS X 10.6.2 for flash internet plugin
Hi all
Since I bought my new iMac (27" 3.06 GHz) every so often when I open a page with Flash content it asks for me to confirm my settings as the image below shows:
When I click settings it open a new page and gives me this message:
I have never come across this problem and in all honesty don't understand what it means. The file I am trying to open is a sample Java script embedded in an html page! It is for a script that allows you to resize flash sites to fit the browser window and the html file is a demonstration of how the script works.
Can anyone help? What settings do I need to change in order to stop flash plugin blocking me? This occurs in both Safari and Firefox. I haven't tried it in any other browsers yet.
Thank you
