No Sound for videos on itunes

My computer crashed and I have all my files, but I am not able to hear any sound when I play video on Itunes. I can hear the music files, but no video.
Can anyone help with this

i've seen one or two people report that a standalone QT 7.0.4 reinstall will help with this.
let's take a few additional precautions.
download and save a copy of the standalone QT 7.0.4 installer to your hard drive. (we'll run the install from there rather than online.) switch off antivirus and antispyware applications prior to the install.

All of a sudden, in iTunes for Windows, whenever I play videos, I get no sound/audio. The video plays fine, but no sound.
Previously, everything played fine in iTunes, video and audio.
Here is what I am using:
iTunes 10.6 for Windows 64-bit
Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit
Quicktime 7.7.1
What is strange, is that audio files (songs and audio podcasts) play fine in iTunes. But when I switch to ANY video file (music video, movie or video podcast) the video portion plays fine, but no audio.
I've tried playing the same videos in Quicktime (standalone), and all is well.
I'm also able to play the same video files in Windows Media Player with no issues.
In addition, all of the videos have great sound in my iPod, iPhone, and iPad.
The problem is solely with playback within the iTunes Program.
Any thoughts on what settings I should check, or what other tips I should try?

I have the same problem exactly.
Everything worked and I had sound while playing movies on the Itunes player and on the phone and suddenly it stopped.
Now I can only play the video but with no audio and on the phone is the same.
I have already re installed itunes and quik time and still it doesn't help.
It making me go crazy.
I do have sound while playing songs or videos from the internet, but not a downloaded videos or videos from my PC.
Could you help me with it???

Recurring theme with the 4s losing alerts except for the phone ringing. Most complaints seem to center on the 7.1 upgrade. The fix is dodgy, putting in a charger, playing a you tube video then pulling out the charger and wiggling it until you get the sound back. When you get the sound back, the volume buttons start to work again. Alternate solutions involve cleaning the docking port with a toothbrush, running a pick over the electrodes etc.

My iPhone 4S has no sound for videos. Only videos though, and no matter the source. I can't hear my own videos I record, videos from YouTube, Facebook, Instagram etc. I'm operating on 7.0.2. No, it's not muted with the side button but I can't figure out why it's not working.

There are two places where vibrations can be set.
One is the Settings > Sounds
The other area is Settings > Notifications
If you have an app set to Alert, it may have a vibration set for it.

No sound for videos purchased on iTunes

I just purchased a few videos from iTunes - all my other iTunes videos worked well but now after downloading the new vids, I have no sound on any videos I have in my library (all of which were purchased through iTunes).
Does anyone know why or how I can get the sound back? Sound still works for all songs, just not for the videos.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

This goes back to January 15th. I don't know how many ''pages'' ago you'd have to go back to find the original topic that is the same as yours. Here is a fix that Lex Luther (sp) came up with that has worked for a lot of us. We are still waiting for the real fix from Apple or iTunes. They have left messages saying that they are working on it. Lex's ''band-aid'' worked for me and others. I can hear and see my videos again! I also BOUGHT 2 movies and can hear and see them. I cannot preview any movies and apparently the rentals at iTunes are not working now either. But at least with this fix maybe you will be able to see and hear your videos. This next part is copied and pasted from the page where Lex put it:
HERE IS A WORK-AROUND FOR THIS ISSUE:
(Please note that this will not address problems with rentals)
1. Go To Start >> All Programs >> QuickTime >> Uninstall Quicktime
2. Select the option to completely remove the product
3. This will remove QuickTime 7.4 from your machine...no need to reboot
4. Go to Apples download page and pull the setup for QuickTime 7.3.1:

5. Run the setup, loading this version of QuickTime onto your machine.
6. When the setup has completed, you can start iTunes and your audio will be back for all PURCHASED video material. Again...no need to reboot.
NOTE: It appears that rentals will not play at all with this version of QuickTime.

Itunes is working well for music playback. However I downloaded a video for the first time and although the movie plays there is no sound and then windows hangs for a short time.
I tried going to www.quicktime.com and watching a movie trailer and the same happens. The video playback is fine but with no sound?

So, you have a problem with Quicktime. iTunes uses Quicktime for movie playback.
I would recommend going to the support site for your computer and making sure you have the latest video and audio drivers. If you don't have the latest Microsoft updates, you'll probably have to go get the latest version of DirectX as well from the Windows Update page. (Though make sure you update the drivers first.)

Sound with video in iTunes but not on Apple TV

I use EyeTV from Elgato to record TV programs, strip out commercials, and convert for use on Apple TV. This has worked beautifully except for the last time. I can watch the TV show with sound using iTunes on my Mac. However, there is no sound viewing the same file on Apple TV. This is true only for this one file (so far). I have tried both streaming the video and syncing it--no sound either way. Any ideas?

Have an update to the problem. Think I have caused the issue when I copied my files to a new PC. When I go into itunes and select TV programmes, all of the programmes appear.
When I select the Itunes store and under the Quick Links selet "Purchased" and TV programmes, the programmes I cannot see in itunes are also not being displayed here.
Suspect this was my error - can anyone advise ?

Sound for video not working on iPod

When i convert the video files from my computer into iPod format, they do it. However, I transfer the video to my iPod and only see the video; there is no sound to the video even though it plays both on my iTunes and computer...what might be the problem?

just revising the question...the video does show up on my iPod, there is just no sound with the video. Guess I'm just trying to figure out if I did something wrong or if there is a fix to where I can see AND hear the video versus just watching it. The volume works for my songs, it is not locked and I try to raise and lower volume when playing the videos but there is no sound at all.

Why do I get a black screen and no sound with video in iTunes 8?

Just downloaded the new iTunes. I don't have any video playback when I click preview in the store. No video when I try to play anything that I've already downloaded. The play cursor moves but I have a black screen with no sound. I'm hoping this is just a temporary glitch.
Any recommendations? I'm using the latest version of Leopard 10.5.4 on an Intel iMac.

Yeah! Problem solved: It's a QT issue.
Cause: Mac Update Software downloaded a faulty QT.
Solution: Download QT from Apple's QT site.

No sound on Video in itunes v 6

I have recently downloaded itunes v6 and today v6.01
In both cases I have been to the music store and tried to preview video. I get video but no sound. Audio is fine on music playback.
Does anybody have a similar problem or hopefully a solution

Synching options for video from iTunes to iPhone

Is there a way to synch individual shows onto the iPhone other than the "1 most recent" or "1 unwatched"?
There has got to be an easier way than marking all the episodes I do not want as "watched" and then leaving the one I want to transfer to my iPhone "unwatched" - say episode 5 of 13.

My downloaded paid for video loses sound every 15 or so minutes, so I have to contstantly log out of iTunes and log back in and then it works - what's the problem (apart from what I've just said), does anybody know?

Is it just the iPad ( Anything else using wifi at your place having problems? ) ?
