Since upgrading to ML i am not able to hear any sound when opening email attatchments IE WMV files or anything

On a whim I tried a different user, logging in as a guest, and it worked fine. How do I get it to work with my account?
That indicates, that the problem is in your user library.
Quit GarageBand and remove the following files from the User Library:
~/Library/Caches/com.apple.garageband/
Check, if you have incompatible sound fonts in ~/Library/Audio/Sounds/Banks/
~/Library/Containers/garageband10
~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.garageband10.LSSharedFileList.plist
You user library may still be hidden, as is the default in Mavericks: To open your hidden user library:
Select the "Home" folder icon (the little house) in the Finder's sidebar and press the key combination ⌘J to open the "view options".
Enable "Show Library Folder".
Then open the Home folder and open the Library folder inside and navigate to ~/Library/Caches , etc.
After removiing these files, restart the mac, before launching GarageBand again. You will have to reset all preferences, after removing these files, however.

What format are the attachments? If Pages will not display them properly you will need an application that does. Pages usually opens word documents but can give problems at times, if they are MS Word documents, try Libre Office or failing that you may have to purchase MS Word for Mac, maybe you will need to buy the complete Office suite.
The other possiblity is that you already have a suitable application and Pages is loading the file by default, if so change the default application to open that file type.

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

55SL417U has not sound from any input. Have it setup on color stream 1 with RBG and L/R sound input, but when adding sn B26518T24851A1.
No sound.
No sound from colorstream input (RGB/LR)
No sound from Video 1 or Video 2.
No sound from Netflix app either
Any ideas? I have tried all the cables, reset the TV, power down
Also, I have lost the 4 HDMI inputs. What the heck happened?

You could of course use Safari your default browser as a quick method of accessing gmail until you figure out the Firefox problem. (More than one browser may be used on a Mac or other computer).
Is this the only site you have problems with ? and does Safari work ok ?
Often this problem requires the page to be reloaded

Another problem is sometimes the cookies for that site need clearing

TS1702 I am not getting any sound from any of my games downloaded

I have several games downloaded from the App Store on my IPad such as Wheel of Fortune, Angry Birds, etc. There is no sound even though the sound button is on in each of these applications.

Have you got notifications muted ? Only notifications (including games) get muted, so the Music and Videos apps, and headphones, still get sound.
Depending on what you've got Settings > General > Use Side Switch To set to (mute or rotation lock), then you can mute notifications by the switch on the right hand side of the iPad above the volume switch, or via the taskbar : double-click the home button; slide from the left; and it's the icon far left; press home again to exit the taskbar. email shows an attachment (paperclip). on email there is a question mark where the download icon should appear. Photo attachment on my computer can be downloaded with no problem

How do I get a website to open on firefox from my email?

I have Internet Explorer. I just downloaded Firefox. An online store that I shop at regularly sends me emails. When I click on their link from my email it takes me to their site through Internet Explorer. How do I get the link from my email to open through Firefox?

When I click on a link from my emails it opens automatically through firefox. I want to disable this feature as I would like to go back to Chrome. I don't want to uninstall Firefox all together but I don't want it to be my main browser either.

The only way to have such links not open Firefox is to set another browser the default browser.
That MozillaZine Knowledge Base article shows how to set another browser like IE as the default browser.

You may be having a problem with some extension or plugin that is hindering your Firefox's normal behavior. Have you tried disabling all add-ons (just to check), to see if Firefox goes back to normal?

I can't hear any sound from any flash website, or music players on myspace, and youtube.com etc... I think its a flash problem. It worked a few days ago. Is it a problem with my browser? With Flash? A virus?
I tried the web browser's preferences and system preferences. I got the latest version of flash player. Is there anything else?

Can't get sound from my midi channels

Hello. I've been using Logic 8 for a while. 2 days ago I updated to the newest version 8.0.1 and after I did it, I can't get sound from my midi channels. Before the update I could use my Ivory pianos perfectly, but after the update I can't. I've tried every setup I can imagine. I've been here sitting for hours trying to fix it but I can't .
Logic recognizes my keyboard, since I play...all the notes appear on the transport bar, but i can't get sound from any sampler (Ivory, EXS, EVP88, etc).
I've checked my outputs, etc...but nothing.
Please help me!!! I'm desperate!

Do you hear the Audio tracks and only Software Instruments are not working od don't you get any output at all? I was just assuming that through the update your Apogee has been removed as your Audio device in Preferences->Audio->devices.

No sound from EVB3 Mainstage 2

I am not getting any sound from EVB3 in Mainstage. I get sounds from any other patch, so I'm not sure what's going on. I've been a Mainstage user for years, this is the first time this has happened. I can see MIDI in the input window, I can see the notes being triggered on the keyboard in the Workspace window, but no sound. Yikes!
I have a big gig tomorrow and hope to sort this out. Any help would be appreciated. Using Mainstage 2.2.2, Mac OS 10.7.5, MacBook Pro 2.8 gHz.

By default the EVB3 only responds to MIDI channels 1, 2 and 3. The easiest way to sort this is to change the MIDI transmit channel of your controller to Channel 1 (there are other ways if this is not do-able)
