No sound from apps or ipod

i have turned the sound off button on and off several times i plugged and unplugged the head phones several times and i still ahve no sound what is going on

I have what seems to be the same problem as sean2303, in that my ringtone plays through the external speakers (custom ringtone created from an AAC track), and I can make loudspeaker calls, however no other sound comes from the speakers. I occasionally get an error message as if I had docked the iPhone into a device which was not designed for it and I'm asked if I want to activate airplane mode, however this only happens when there is nothing connected to the iPhone. The volume control disappears when the headphones are removed too. I have reset the device multiple times and restored it twice, neither of which seem to work.

aafter the new update 8.3 my iPad sounds are not working like "app games" "app news" " sound clicks from keyboard and browser, is someone else having problems with sounds, however, the speakers are working, I went to "music" and it is fine, sound from web browsers stream is fine or playback videos are all ok.
any ideas, I'm lost in this issue, besides the new update made my iPad faster, as well as, the wifi.

Check that the mute switch (top right side switch above volume control) is pushed up OR
pull up from the bottom of the screen to bring up control Center & make sure the bell with a line going through it (mute) is not highlighted. It would only be there if the side switch is set to lock screen rotation.
Settings->Sounds->check the volume slider is up & that lock sounds & keyboard clicks are enabled.
If the first two don't work, try a general reset:
Settings->General->Reset->Reset All Settings. You won't lose data but will have to log back into your wifi network(s)

Unable to hear sound from music video (ipod touch)

I have uploaded the video to ipod touch. But I could only watch the video and could not listen any sound from it. Please advise if I have to convert the file before I upload it.

Bdp-s1500 No sound from Apps apart from Beeps

I've just installed my BDP-S1500.It works fine for DVDs. My TV is a bit temporamental, so I've had to force the the video to output at 720, but now I'm having problems with the sound. Disks are fine, but some apps are buggy. Example. YouTube gives the clinks and beeps as you move and make selections. However, the clips themselves are silent.Netflix is silent. Amazon has sound.Berlin Phil has sound I have tried numerous HDMI cables into numerous numerous HDMI ports, all with the same results.Any ideas?I've updated the firmware and done factory resets.Any ideas? Thank you for the details of the issue you are experiencing with sound on your iPad. I recommend the following steps for an issue like this (the steps refer to an iPhone but are also applicable to the iPad):
Verify that the volume is set to a level you would normally be able to hear.
Ensure that there is nothing plugged in to the headset jack or the dock connector.
If the iPhone is in a protective case, make sure that the speaker port isn't blocked by the case.
Make sure that the speaker and dock port aren't clogged with debris. If necessary, clean it with a clean, small, dry, soft-bristled brush. Carefully and gently brush away any debris.
If an audio issue occurs when using a specific application, try testing other applications to see if the issue persists.
If the iPhone is paired with a Bluetooth headset or car kit:
Try turning off Bluetooth.
If you experience difficulties with the Bluetooth feature, followthese troubleshooting steps.
Restart the iPhone.

I recently upgraded my iphone 3GS to the new ioS 5.1. After I did this and synced my phone, it won't let me play any audio from apps, itunes or music. It will allow the phone to ring but that is all. When I use viber I have to press this button and change it from docking to iphone. I take it that the phone thinks I'm permanently on a docking system.
It also will not sync my music back to my phone. My music is on itunes but it won't let it sync.
I have restored my phone twice and it still won't work - HELP!! Please???

Your device is broken. If you want a device that works better than the one you have now, then you'll either need to bring your phone into Apple for out of warranty exchange ($149), or find a 3rd party repair shop in your area and see what they can do, if anything at all.

Have you got notifications muted ? Only notifications (including games) get muted, so the iPod and Videos apps, and headphones, still get sound. Depending on what you've got Settings > General > Use Side Switch To set to (mute or rotation lock), then you can mute notifications by the switch on the right hand side of the iPad, or via the taskbar : double-click the home button; slide from the left; and it's the icon; press home again to exit the taskbar. Sound on iPhone4S disappears at frequent intervals, no ring or sound from Apps

Sound suddenly decides to cut out such as no alarm going off this morning! Comes back after switching off but then will happen again later. Issue was on 4G so I cahnged to partner's iPhone4S only to find it's happening again! Apple Care had suggested it was speaker issue in 4G but can't be in this 4S as partner never had issue. Any ideas folks? Please? Or am I jinxed!

NO SOUND FROM 5TH GEN IPOD!!

PLEASE HELP! My ipod looks like it works fine, the menus work, looks as though songs are playing, the screen display shows no signs of malfunction, but THERE IS NO SOUND AT ALL. Tried headphones, my fm transmitter in my car...nothing. I saw a couple of other posts regarding this & the comments back have been to stick the ipod in the freezer. I feel a little apprehensive about resorting to this. If anyone has any feedback, please help!! I paid $350 for this dang thing, for it to just not freakin' work. I have reset it, off/on, etc....thank you anyone!!

If you have AppleCare and it is still within warranty get it serviced by arranging service online or take it to an Apple Store and make a Genius Bar appointment.
If not, try http://www.iresq.com or Google for other 3rd party repair sites.
I am assuming you have already tried Restoring it in iTunes and Resyncing it.

Play sound from AppleTV on iPod

I have noticed that when I watch a video in iTunes, I can use AirPlay to push the audio to the AppleTV. Is there any way to make this work in reverse? I am trying to find a way to watch videos on my AppleTV while listening to the audio through headphones. If I could play the audio on the computer, I could listen via bluetooth headset. If I could play the audio on my iPod, I could listen via the headphone jack.
Does anybody have a good solution for listening to the aTV using headphones?

I had pretty much come to that conclusion, but I wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something.
I would still be interested to know if anyone has a solution that works well for them. I have looked at bluetooth transmitters to plug into the audio out jack on my TV, and I will probably end up taking that route. However, I am curious if anyone else has other suggestions.

No sound from external speakers with music and apps on 3gS

I'm having sound problems with my 3gs. I've read quite a few posts about this and have come to a dead end.
My problem is that there is no sound from apps of music etc from the external speaker but there is from phone calls.
This is what I've tried:
The silent button is off.
I've put the headphone in and out many times to know avail. (I don't consider this to be the problem as when the jack is taken out the volume bar dissapears)
I've blown down the headphone jack.
I've cleaned out the usb socket with a toothpick
I've done a restart
I've done a reset and a full reset with newly downloaded firmware.
To me it's acting as if it is docked into an external speaker.
Any other suggestions.

Is the iPhone able to still play ringtones and songs via headphones? If so, your iPhone probably thinks it is connected to a dock. I had this problem and while I don't suggest it, I messed rather vigorously with the dock/cable port at the bottom before the volume reappeared. I hope this helps.

'Thin' sound from itunes & ipod

I seem to be getting a 'thin' sound from itunes & my ipod either after upgrading to itunes 7.1.1.5 or after loading some music software for my SonyEricsson mobile phone. Anyone else found this?
I've played with the manual equalizer, pre-amp and sound enhancer settings until I'm dizzy, but the sound I'm getting through the same headphones or speaker set-up still makes the itunes/ipod sound like they're playing through a tin can compared to when I plug my mobile phone in and play exactly the same track (both at 320kbps). The latter sounds much richer. I'm buffled quite frankly! Either something has happened with itunes 7 or it's a conspiracy by SonyEricsson to make any other music software you have loaded to sound terrible in comparison!!

LTE - Volume buttons, sound and apps

I guess this just another one of those issues that comes with having a phone OS installed on a tablet?
Using the volume buttons when on the home screen automatically adjusts the sound levels for the ringtone instead of the general volume level for like.. everything.. as it would otherwise be intended.
Also, when turning off volume completely through the shortcut button, sound from apps is still enabled.
Is there a workaround to this?
Managed to get the shortcut and volume buttons to work up to my expectations with these 2 apps.
Volume Sync Links the mute call volume to media volume as well (shortcut). Works for both mute on and off. (Free).
Volume Sync Pro Links all the different volumes together to go up and down together with ringtone volume (side buttons). Originally designed for mobiles, the UI can be a bit buggy on tablet and might not be able to select which volumes should be synced. Works well with sync all though. (Not free but relatively cheap)

Found a couple of apps to enable the functionality of the shortcut and volume buttons to be as I expected, so I'm posting links here in case others stumble upon this annoyance.
Volume Sync will link the mute for call volume with media volume (shortcut). Works both for mute on and off. (FREE)
Volume Sync Pro will actively sync volume up and down for call sound through the side buttons to all the other volumes. Originally designed for phones, the options do not properly show up on the Z2 tablet, so it might be a bit complicated to choose which volumes to sync, but syncing all is relatively easy. (Not free but relatively cheap)

You have your mute button on. In Settings check to see if you have Lock Orientation checked or Mute checked on the right hand side. If you have Mute checked, all you need to do is click the mute button above the volume control buttons on the upper right hand side of your iPad. If you have Lock Orientation checked in settings, you double click your home button and the most recent apps will appear. Swipe your finger to the right until the Mute icon appears on the left side. Touch it and you will unmute system sounds.

The iPad 1 can't run the newer operating systems. It'd be like trying to play a bluray disc in your 6 year old dvd player....it simply lacks the hardware to make the software run.
No suggestion about the camera, but given that Apple's attitude seems to be to focus more on the more mobile devices for photography (the iPhone and Touch cameras got features, the iPad and mini didn't), that is highly unlikely. You can tell Apple what you want, but you'd probably be money ahead to get a digital camera.
as to the photos, anything put on via iTunes has to come off via iTunes.Your main alternative would be to look for photo apps that offer file exchange that may give you more functionality.
