No sound from HP G62 laptop and can no longer get sound from speakers or headphone jack . USB sworks

have an HP G62 laptop. I can no longer receive sound from speakers or from headphone jack. If I plug speakers into usb - I will get sound. Any ideas?

I don't think I have anything to offer that you haven't done. In Device Manager, Device status says "working properly" and you've reinstalled this driver.

The only other thing I know to do is restore the hard drive to its original factory fresh contents.

I did try to download Firefox again, but still will not work.

Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.

Ok. For TV audio: Have you checked TV settings, tried a different HDMI cable and port ?
For receiver, checked its settings and ATV audio settings? Made sure optical was secure on ATV and receiver, tried different cable?
You indicated it was something that started when the PVR was introduced, so I would also contact them.

System Preferences --> Sound --> uncheck the mute button next to the Output volume (assuming it is set). Or move the Output volume slider.

Now I can't access the music from my old account due to using a new computer. I've purchased the music and downloaded cds with the old account and need to be able to get my music.

I upgraded to Yosemite and can no longer import photos from my camera

I have a Canon Eos Rebel SLR Digital Camera (Model DS6041). It has always worked perfectly with iPhoto on my iMac running Maverick. I upgraded to Yosemite yesterday and now when I plug the camera in...iPhoto opens...and it shows the camera listed in the pane on the left but in the upper right hand corner of the main photo window it just continually says "Loading". I plugged it into my wife's Macbook Air which was also upgraded yesterday morning and it did the same thing. In order to make sure it was a problem with Yosemite and not my camera...I plugged it into my dad's Macbook Air which HASN'T been upgraded. It is still running Maverick. His Macbook immediately recognized the photos and loaded them and was ready for me to import. Does anyone know what is going on with the Yosemite upgrade and if it is being looked at? Thank you.

I called Canon and they said to change a setting on the camera and for me it worked. They said to go to the settings menu and go to communication... on my camera there are two choices... Normal (PC) and PTP. Mine was set to normal and always worked fine. After the Yosemite update...it no longer worked. Yesterday I changed it to PTP and the pictures popped right up. Hopefully you have similar settings in your camera and can try this...

Look in the headphone output, is there a red light?
If so, try plugging and unplugging your headphones, also try a different set of headphones,all the jacks are noe exzctly the the same size, if there is a red light it means the MBP is in digital mode. You can try rebooting with headphones plugged in, or cut the end off a Q tip and GENTly insert it in the headphone jack and GENTLY "massage" it, stop at he least bit of resistance, this will some times free up the the micro switch that does the digital thing.

While this thread (mostly because of me) now somewhat conflates purchases made on a computer via the iTunes Store and purchases made from the iTunes Store via an AppleTV, I am referring to AppleTV purchases, and I stand by my assertion.
My point was - and I'll state it again more clearly - is that the entire purpose of the AppleTV product is that you do NOT store your purchases separately, that they are available for STREAMING at your whim. Apple does not need to explicitly state this. It is inherent in the product they sell. AppleTV is a media streaming product. And, in fact, their own press supports my assertion:

Apple specficially states the movies can be "downloaded again at any time" -- and "no hard drive required". This online storage is not a "separate bonus" -- it is part of the deal. It is a separate matter (and irrelevant to my point) whether one can TRUST Apple to always be there providing that streaming service or whether it would be prudent to back-up any movies one downloads.
My point was how the product AppleTV is supposed to function.

My Time capsule did a backup yesterday in the morning without any problem. All of a sudden, it disconnected from the wireles system last night and the little indicator lamp turned off. It still makes a noice, as if a disc was turning inside. The Time Capsule was bought last year in June. Any suggestiom what to do? What happens if I press the little buttom (reset?), will I loose af my backup?

Do a reset.. power off the TC..
Hold in reset and power on.. keep holding in reset until it flashes rapidly.. if it turns on at all.
If you bought it in June.. take it back today.. it is broken.. at a guess.
Some Gen4 are failing this way.. get Apple to replace it.. even if it is a few days out of warranty it won't be much.

Website from BETA now down and can no longer access files!

I created two sites while Muse was in Beta. They are now both down and giving the error message: NO START PAGE: Could not display this Web Site as no Start Page has been configured. To configure a default starting page, set one of your Web Pages to be the Start Page. Please contact your Administrator for more information. I can't access the files anymore because both Muse and BC are different.
My clients are very angry and I have tried everything, even creating a new site but I can not use the domain because it has the same servers and continues to go to the old site that I can not access. The domains are www.renovatingdetroit.com and www.ariasalongp.com.
Any help would be appreciated since there is business involved I will start losing money very quickly if I can not get the sites back up and running.

Have just upgraded to 10.5.6 from 10.3.9 and can no longer see external HD

Did the erase and install new option as have all important files backed up to an external Freecom USB HD. Have now plugged the USB drive in and it doesn't come up in Finder? Which is a bit concerning....

I can no longer get music from my computer to my ipod

This has been a problem since the update to ios7. How can I resolve this issue? I've tried resets, and I've tried unsyncing, resyncing and so forth. It always gets stuck on 'waiting for changes to be applied'. This is incredibly frustrating. I have built my music library over many years, and I spent a lot of money on this ipod. I currently have Windows XP and an Ipod fiifth gen, updated to the most recent update. My itunes is also updated to the most recent update. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

- Removing and Reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows XP
- Restore from backup. See:

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
However, that may not work and you will have to wait for an iPod or iTunes update.

How do I stop my search engine from being "hijacked"? I can no longer get direct access to websites.

When I open my Mozilla Start Page, I type in a name or website I am searching and Google provides the usual list of websites. When I click on the website I want it won't open. Instead I keep getting redirected instead of going directly to the website. How I can I stop this from happening?

I would normally wonder if this was a malware problem, but apparently a day or so ago there may have been dns problems relating to google.
