No sound from my rear speak

Hi,
I have an SB X-Fi extreme music card and I can't get sound out of my rear speakers. I went through the Creative Diagnostic tests and when I ran it for 5. speakers the rear right sound comes through the center speaker and the rear left sound comes through the left front speaker. I checked and both rear speakers work when I plugged them in a different speaker output. Any advice would be great!. I have Windows Vista 32-bit and upgraded my drivers yesterday to the most current ones. Thanks.... Ralph?

What?kind of speaker system are you using if I may ask? I believe the card has only 3 holes to connect speakers to and line-in?where your surround set might have more. If you've got a Creative Inspiron set or something similar you might want to check if the cables which go into the central unit, the subwoofer in most cases, are connected properly?too. Greetings,

I have done a complete sound system check, every thing check out good. From the rear speakers I am only getting sound from left rear. When i do a speaker check, when right rear speaker lites, sound comes from left rear. when left rear speaker lites sound also comes from left rear speaker.

You may have to check with your sound card manufacturer for special setting to upmix the Stereo to the rest of the speaker.
If you are using Creative 5.1 sound card, you can refer to the link for the CMSS upmix feature.

No sound from integrated loud speaker

Hi,
I have no sound from integrated loud speaker, only if I use my headset, I can hear something. There is no red light, so should be a software issue. When I restart the mac, I hear the start sound. I already reseted the PRAM, didn't help. I installed OS X Lion 10.7.4 and did the software updates.
Any idea? Thanks!

DDL or DTS = no sound out of rear speak

I have a sb xfi plat with optical out going to a dd/dts reciever and every time i play an mp3 i only get sound out of the front speakers and not my rears, is anyone else having this issue?

Are you telling me this is how?creative designed this to work because?it isn't working like?every other DDL / DTS connect card out there.
I don't kow how and where exactly the defferences are between those solutions. But as I told it, it is the way the Creative implemention handles it. If you don't use CMSS-3D or use the surround functions of you Decoder (I have a seperate balance for "surround" on my Z-5500 where I can set If the rear speaker are used *at all*) you won't get automaticly Surround Sound with MP3. Of course it still depends a bit on you player software, there are player/filters (AC3 Filter; ffdshow) out there which can do that too. Upmixing Stuff, I mean but then you don't really need DDL. I use it to encode actual game sounds, because strangely I don't have any popping and noise in there while I use it (just read up that crackling/popping thread.

Nothing from my rear speaker and sub using VISTA with SB X-Fi Xtreme Noteb

I know many people have problems with audio not coming out of their rear speaker. I can't seem to even get sound from the diagnosis tests. All I hear is sound and noise coming out of my front speakers and nothing else. Is this a Windows Vista driver problem?

I don't know if this is going to help or not..
. Is on-board sound disabled in the bios?
2. Have you gone through the Win XP control panel playback and recording settings to make sure microphone isn't disabled?
3. Is digital line-in disabled?
4. In the Soundblaster Control Console you've selected mixer and then selected line-in 2 / mic 2 by clicking on the "rec" slider?

Audigy 1 PCI card, only have sound from right side speak

hi guys and gals, I'm thinking my audigy has finally kicked the bucket as i only get sound from of the two side channels, its not a cable or speaker issue, and can find no loose connection or burn through on the card, anyone had this problem is there some simple fix or should i just buy a new card :P

Wow, so after testing it in linux and not working, i thought to myself definitely something in the connections.
So I look at the sub/rear/front connectors and decide to just disconnect and reconnect them. Surely, enough the rear connector on the soundcard wasn't in all the way hence the only rear speaker working.
Well after spending a day on this and finding the very simple fix all i can say is DOH

I just bought Ipad mini last 2 weeks....since I have bought ...I can not hear sounds from speaker.
It always shows "headphone" mode....Why?

No sound from NB250-10g speaker

does anyone know if you need to install a driver or config the audio settings to get sound from this netbook?
I can't get any audio through the single onboard speaker, I have been using some usb speakers with it.

The sound driver cannot be the problem because you were already able to use external USB speakers. You could also try to connect the headphones just to check if sound output using headphones would work. In case you could use headphones the sound driver is working and the speakers might be faulty.

Ipad 2 has no sound from built-in speaker after one day.

I received by ipad 2 yesterday and I had sound out from the built-in speaker when using facetime and
youtube.
When I turned on my ipad2 today, there are no sound from the built-in speaker. I checked the switch in
"settings" and it is set to "lock rotation" instead of "mute". So I am pretty sure my ipad2 is not
muted in the first place, using the volume locker and the volume icon shows "headphones" but
I do not have the headphones plugged in. However I got sound when I plugged in the headphones,
unplugged them and I got no sound from the built-in speakers again.
I have a 32G wifi+3G (The 3G is not enable yet) and the latest verion of iOS

??Hi. I bought some new 5. speakers and get test sound only from the left front speaker and minimal sound from all the speakers when playing music. I have a xifi soundcard and have set them up as 5. speakers in the control panels. Can anyone help me get full sound from all of them.

I have an Audigy 2 with Creative Inspire 6700 speakers. I have a problem where there is no sound from either the front center speaker or the sub. If I test it with Speaker Setup in Control Panel there is no sound on those two speakers.

This worked for me as well. Great find! I have gigabyte ep45-ud3r motherboard and I was getting all sound through external speakers except itunes was playing the sound out of the digital output instead of the speakers. I could see this when I went to control panel > hardware & sound > manage audio devices. I did the repair as described above and now I have sound in iTunes.

Hey, since this week I got a really strange problem, I first noticed it when in games, i don't hear people coming from the back anymore, and music doesn't sound as crisp anymore. At first the rear right was switched around with the sub and some other strange stuff going on, and now it affects 4 speakers: the central speaker, the 2 rear speakers, and the subwoofer. When i click on standard configuration(dunno how it is exactly in english, cus i have the?dutch version, but it changes everything into default), they work again. I started customizing everything again, and tested if they were working, but same problem: only front left/right were working. After some testing I found out that it occurs as soon as i change the volume with the main volume knob. By default it is something like 74%, and after changing it to something else, the problem occurs, even if turned back to 74.
Does someone know how to fix it's

I have the EXACT SAME proublem. At first I thought my card went bad because I lost 3 channels but after hitting the defult button all the speakers started working again. For me it also seems that if I change the master volume on the soundblaster controll pannel to anything other then defult I then lose the same 3 channels. However if I use window's volume controll (single click on the speaker in the task tray), or the volume adjustment on my keyboard I have no proublems.

I have a Soundblaster X-Fi Fatalty and it'ss a little under year old with all current drivers. The front right speaker plays no sound but the front left speaker plays what is supposed to come out of the front right. I have it set on the 5. surround sound but it doesn?t work on any other settings. A week ago everything was working fine I have not installed anything new since then. I'm not sure if this is a hardware problem or something set wrong on my computer. Does anyone have a solution or know what may be causing this? I ghave this same problem with an XFi Elite pro card and a 5. speaker system. To get sound coming out all 5 correct speakers and subwoofer i have to select 7. speaker set up then 5., then 6. and finally 5. again then it works fine - I have to do the selection in THX from game consule mode to get it to work.

Hello,?I have a sound blaster audigy 2 card and 5. logitech THX speakers. I can not get any sound out of my center speaker. I used ot have a diagnostic program that tested my speakers and would let me reset them if I encountered a problem. I can no longer find that diagnostic problem. If anyone can help me by either knowing how to get sound back or how to get that diagnostic tool back I would be greatly appreciati've. Thank you for your help and your time.
