No sound from TomTom with Ford Bluetooth
I have connected the IP4s with the Ford Bluettoth system and when trying to use TomTom I get not TTS. But when I discount the bluetooth I get TTS from TomTom.
Has anyone had a similar problem and found a work around?
Go to EAX panel and uncheck all effects. Now you should get 20% volume on the sub.
Go buy an ARTcessories HEADAMP, like I did, and?some cables/adapters from a Hosa distributor to boost your ctr/sub 3.5mm output of the 2zs.
Output levels way too low for subwoofer no matter what you can do. Regardless of the impedance load on the output.
I hooked up an o-scope and measured it, being the FCC certified tech I am since '7, now senior engineer for the USCG Academy ship simulators facility.

I'm just curious: Have you tried the minitube client (you can install it through the official repos). See if you get output there when trying to see a video.
That is the best bet I think you have in terms of the software you use to see flash content. You could also try the google-chrome package of the AUR and check how does that browser react to the BT headset (there are differences between the flash plugin of Firefox and Google's).
I hope this helps you in some way while someone smarter than me sorts out your issue.

Still no sound from speakers with X-Fi under VIST

!!! This morning I tried moving my SB X-Fi to another PCI slot. After the move I booted into VISTA64 and the SB drivers were reinstalled by the OS. I then switched from my onboard sound device to the X-Fi and tested the speakers and for the first time I am getting sound out of my speakers. To me this would imply one of 2 things. Either the bios was not handling the first PCI slot correctly or the Creative drivers have a problem when the card is placed in this slot. I would rule out the first possibility since the card would work in this slot under VISTA32. Further when I moved the card I had to swap it with my ATI TV card which does work in this slot. My motherboard is an ASUS A8NE NForce4 Ultra with bios version 03. Well at least i am finally able to get this card functioning under VISTA64!!
!!! __________________________________________________ _____________________________________?I have tried many different installations of the SB X-Fi drivers but have been unsuccessful of getting any sound from this card through my speakers. I have been successful with VISTA32 but not with VISTA64. The latest attempt used the installation CD I purchased from Creative. Even after all the latest updates were installed I still had no sound.
I have posted my system configuration in a previous posting but did not get any advice from this posting other then the recognition that my configuration indicated I had 3 audio devices. On this last attempted installtion I had the Creative Labs USB modem disconnected and the Logitech Web Camera disconnected as well as the on board sound device disabled. This made no difference. I do have the latest BIOS isntalled for my mother board. Like indicated above I am able to get the SB X-Fi working under VISTA32. I primarily use VISTA64 simply because I believe it is the better of the VISTA versions interms of over all stability and performance. I am unable to get any sound from my speakers. Another interesting note is that when it was briefly working the THX Console worked. Now when I try an open the THX Console it crashes. Also I notice when I open the open the Creative Console Launcher the speaker, EAX and other features are not functioning like they were when it was working. This seems to tell me that something is not getting initialized correctly. Alot of times after initial boot-up all I have available is the SPDIF output available, which I am not using. I either reboot which usually results in the speakers being available although no sound out of them or I disable then reenable the driver from the device manager to make the speakers available. I sure hope some one at Creative can provide an answer to my problem. ThanksJohn

I get only sound from left with 5.1 sound system on Satellite P100
Hi!
I have a P100-347 and a logitech 5.1 sound system.
The logitech 5.1 has 3 connection: 1 to be plugged to the Line-In, the other to be connected to the Line-out and the 3rd to be connected to the Microphone socket.
When using it on my desktop which has a random SIS sound card it works fine.
Yesterday I've connected it to the P100-347 but I only get sound from the Line-out socket. I have changed the sound preferences to 5.1 but it makes no difference... I only get sound from the Line-out. Is there any drivers update that I should do or is anyone aware of this and how can I fix it??
Just one more thing... With the laptop came this cd "Express Media Player Recovery CD", what is this? Is this something to be installed after runing the "Product Recovery CD" in order to install some drivers or whatever is in this cd comes with the Product Recovery CD as well? Does anyone knows?

If you want to connect the HiFI or another device you have to choose the headphone & S/PDIF jack. Only this port provides the audio outputting.
The both another jacks provide only the function for signal (sound) receiving!
My notebook provides the same jacks and I have connected the notebook to HiFI (5 speakers) via Y-audio cable like this one:

No sound from subwoofer with Audigy 2 va
No sound from Subwoofer.
Audigy 2 value soundcard is connected by analogue to a Sony receiver to 5. inputs, and it is hooked to a 5. speaker system. (5 sattelites and a subwoofer) There is no sound coming from the subwoofer when watching DVDs in 5., music (with CMSS) or games. So naturally it sounds awfull with no bass. (this system works ok with cd or dvd from the hifi). The audigy 2 value used to be connected to the creative inspire 5. speakers on my old computer and it worked fine. PLease help.

Nokia 6230i with ford bluetooth
I need a socalled "carcontacts.sis" file to install on my 6230i model, in order to transfer my contacts to the Ford bluetooth radio and view the contacts on the convers display.

PBAP is Phone Book Application Profile, it is a bluetooth profile that is part of the firware in your bluetooth that simply dictates how your phone's bt should work...
you do not need to install or find it cause it is already there, just normally try to pair your phone to the BT handsfree kit of your car, and see the car's manual on how to activate the transfer of the "Phone Book" content, usually during the 1st pairing it will ask for the transfer... -
Buzzing Sound from G4 with Firewire devices
I'm experiencing this problem with my Powerbook G4. The problem has been occurring pretty much ever since I owned the machine, and it's driving me up the wall!!
Whenever the machine is using some sort of Firewire Audio device it emits a loud buzzing/scraping sound, coming from under the left hand speaker. The buzzing gets worse when I start an audio App of some sort, such as Pro Tools, Ableton Live, Sibelius and even humble iTunes!
I've tried a Digidesign MBox 2 Pro, and an M-Audio FW410, both of which exhibit the same behaviour, and don't cause the same problem when I try it on other Macs (I've tried it on an Intel Mac Mini, a MacBook, and a MacBook Pro so far).
Things I've tried to fix it:
1. Unplugging the Mac from the mains power and unplugging the interface from the mains, and all combinations of the two.
2. Reinstalling Mac OSX (I've tried both 10.4 and 10.5).
3. Updating drivers.
I've got AppleCare, and the technicians at my local Apple Store kindly took in the machine and have now replaced the entire Logic Board twice, and still no change in behaviour. I'm now in discussion with Apple Technical support, who take the line that there isn't a problem with the machine, it must be the third party device. I would agree with this of course, except I've tested the devices on other machines, and they work fine, plus the two devices are from two different manufacturers. I do feel a bit like Apple don't know what's wrong and are giving me the easy answer of "it's not our fault".
One of the technicians did mention the sound was coming from one of the logic chips on the board if that helps anyone!
Is anyone else experiencing anything like this?Not sure if this is the same thing you heard but I get a high pitched squeal that comes from the same side, that slowly drops in pitch........It does not do it all of the time but I have no idea what is causing it. Whether it was coincidence or not but I also had some strange things happen to my display too, along with the noise.....Anybody got any suggestions as what it could be?

Hey, I have a Satellite P75-A7200 and whenever I connect my HDMI I get sound but from my laptop and not the TV. I read online somewhere to go to playback devices and select the device for the TV but the only one shown is one for the speakers on the laptop... I don't really know what to do. HELP!? /=

Go to Solution.The installation order for the drivers doesn't matter after the first 3 I gave you. But, you need to know if you have an nVidia display card, or an Intel display card. While it is possible, I do not think you have both. If you have both, install the nVidia one first. Regardless, the display driver(s) must be installed before the sound driver. It is similar with the Sound Drivers, you need to know the make of sound card your system came with.
Perhaps you are beginning to understand why you should do the recovery to factory default, which handles all this for you. I would NOT install the Intel Management Interface Engine, you will never use it.
Likewise, the installation order for the Toshiba utilities and software doesn't matter after the first 2 I gave you.
Remember to reboot after installing each and every driver and utility.

No sound from tv with HDMI adaptor
I have a brand new MacBook Pro as in I've owned it for less than a year. A few weeks ago the sound was working great when I connected the HDMI through my thunderbolt adapter cord thing but for some reason it has mysteriously stopped working. When I go to my sound setting the output says its on the tv but yet there is no sound. I've restarted my computer and switched back and forth from the internal speakers to the HDMI but nothing still. How do I fix it?!
I've got a 13" MBA mid 2012 with kind of a similar issue.
I connected my (Mini DisplayPort to HDMI) adapter to the T-Bolt port on my MBA. Then connected my HDMI cable from my surround receiver to it. The receiver showed up in my Output sound listings and all was good.
Then a few months later, the audio was not working but the video was fine. There wasn't even a listing of my receiver on the Output selection .... and of course no sound.
I was reading on the Apple store site about these adapters and noticing that some people were stating the same thing .... works, then doesn't.
So I went and bought (at Frys) the same type of adapter but different make (PNY). And it solved my audio problem and all is back to normal .... so far!! Obviously it was the adapter that went bad.
Maybe try another adapter or even a cable?! -
No sound from iMac with a wireless keyboard/mouse
I just installed FaceTime on my iMac and am able to hear a friend who calls from her iPhone, but she cannot hear me. I have a wireless keyboard and mouse with this Mac. Does that have anything to do with it? If so, can it be fixed and how? Thanks!

(1) Have you checked your FaceTime > Video menu command to be sure that you have selected your iMac's built-in microphone?
Also check > System Preferences... > Sound > Input to be sure your iMac's built-in microphone is selected as your system's "sound input:" device.
(2) If the problem remains, both of you should test FaceTime with at least one other person to try to determine which of you has the problem.

I get sound from Youtube with Safari but not with Firefox
I get sound when using my MacPro with Safari but not with Firefox.
Did you check the volume setting in the player to make sure that the sound isn't muted?
You can try to clear the Flash local storage.

No Sound from Words With Friends
This app used to emit a lovely cascading series of chimes to let you know that your
opponent had taken his turn. Now it has gone silent even though the Volume on the
iPhone (as set by the + and- buttons) is on 6 bars. How can I restore the sound of
the chimes?
