No sound from you tube clip

I installed Lion and no longer get sound from You Tube. Other media works just fine.
Any ideas?

Since most YouTube content requires the Flash plugin try uninstalling then reinstalling the plugin > Troubleshoot Flash Player | Mac OS
If that doesn't help, try deleting Flash cookies > Flush.app – Flash Cookie Removal Tool For OS X | MacHacks.TV

How to use You Tube clips in Final Cut Express?

I'm trying to use some You Tube clips in a Final Cut Express project - purely personal.
What I'm doing is this:
Play You Tube Video
Capture it as a Movie using ScreenSnapz Pro.
Saving it as a DV / NTSC quicktime movie - w/ 48 hz audio under Screensnapz options.
When I put it into the Final Cut Express timeline, it does not require rendering (I have loaded the DV/48hz sequence preset). But... the audio seems slower than it should be and the video is VERY much slower than it should be. The audio and video are not synched).
Other clips imported from other sources (such as video taken from a DVD using DVDxDV) is working fine.
What am I missing here?

Don't use ScreenSnapz Pro, anything you get from that is not going to be as good quality as simply downloading it directly from the source.
1. Use [MPEG Streamclip|http://www.squared5.com/|click here to download] to get the file from YouTube using its "Open URL (Cmd-U)" function.
2. Export to Quicktime (Cmd-E) using these settings:
Compression: Apple DV/DVCPRO - NTSC
Frame Size: 720x480
Frame Rate: 29.97
Quality: 100%
Sound: Uncompressed Stereo 48kHz
Use a DV-NTSC sequence within FCE.

How to download videos from You Tube?

Does anyone know of a tool to download videos from You Tube, to import into iMovie, that actually works? I installed Get Tube, which could not even be activated. vixy.net (an online FLV converter) worked for two video clips but 80% of the time it gets hung up in an infinite loop and does not work. Tube Sock (perhaps better for iPod?) generates a file that iMovie does not recognize—message is "Unknown error" when trying to import it into iMovie. I installed Perian software successfully; it is supposed to make .FLV files from You Tube playable with Quicktime but when I tried to actually play the converted file it was rejected with the message, "This is not a movie." Is there anything out there, freeware or not, that actually works consistently?

Hi ceeg - remember that you do have to add the .flv extension to the file, and then after it plays in QT, in order to use it in iMovie you must export it from QT as a DV Stream file.

I've recently bought iMovie and am trying to get some editing done. I'd like to remove all the sound from my original clips and only have the music track I've added as background music, I've watched the tutorials and tried adjustments but alas, nothing seems to work, where am I going wrong?

First you must drag the clips to a project. The event clips will always have the original audio.
In the project, select one of the clips and open the inspector to the Audio tab. Set the volume slider to zero.
You can repeat this for all the clips, or here is a shortcut.
Do the first one, then with it still selected, click EDIT/COPY, then EDIT/SELECT ALL, then EDIT/PASTE ADJUSTMENTS.../AUDIO ADJUSTMENTS.

Quit Safari.
Hold the shift key down and relaunch Safari.
Empty Caches
Safari > Preference > Advanced
Checkmark the box for "Show Develop menu in menu bar".
Develop menu will appear in the Safari menu bar.
Click Develop and select "Empty Caches" from the dropdown.

Firefox 4.0.1 has been an unsafe browser since the release of Firefox 5. So please don't use it.
Real hasn't made Real Player Browser Plugin compatible with Firefox 5.

I just figured it out. Somehow I didn't change it to the correct code of 1. So on the second shot of 5 allowed I realized I didn't change and save. Now the dvd played.

Have you been able to successfully import these videos into iTunes? If so, use iTunes built in converter to convert it to a more iTunes friendly format. To do this, highligh the video and choose "Create iPhone or iPod version" from the Advanced drop down menu in iTunes.
When it has finished converting, try syncing the new version to your Nano.
