My iphone dussent play sounds anymore from youtube & ipod
Ringtones are no problem but the moment you play a song or youtube ... no sound ...
You cant turn up the volume
I searched the internet & alot of 4s users have this problem
I returned the phone to the store i baught it from , they send it to a repair center
Today i received a phone call to say that they are not gonna fix my iphone due of water that come in to the iphone???
I never droped it into water or make contact with water with it
How can a software problem have something to do with flued's?
I want a new phone because this is not a good service from apple!

Want to download music and sound from YouTube?

I had used Dirpy to download music and other sounds from YouTube for my personal use only in FCE, so when Dirpy bought the farm this week, I went in search of an alternative.
A lot of searching brought up sites that wanted me to download something - scary - and one even asked for my email addy so that what I wanted could be mailed to my email function.
I found one that did not require me to download anything from its site, was simplicity itself to use and gave exceptional results.
I dragged the site's URL to my desktop, pasted the URL of the desired music clip from YouTube into the site's box, and in no time at all the sound was converted to MP3 and was deposited directly into iTunes.
Before you follow suit, check it to assure yourself that it is legitimate. And be absolutely sure to read up on copyright laws as they relate to music.

Airtunes will not play sound from youtube

Hi, I have just bought Apple PC for myself. It Works flawlessly, except for one thing. I can play radio or podcasts, but I just can't seem to get trhe sound from youtube videos or movies to play through airtunes. The logic seems to be thatsounds from movies cannot be played through airtunes. It doesn't make sense, or does it?
Any help is appreciated, P

I can't get any sound from ITunes. The computer's internal speakers are fine (they play utube sound, for example). And the sound bar on itunes is all the way to the right. Still no sound from the music library. Any insights?

The IMac is set to internal speakers, the volume bar on ITunes itself is all the way to the right, there seems to be no problem with the speakers themselves (they play sound from internet videos, for example), but I can't play music from the ITunes library on the IMac. Is it possible that you have iTunes set to send audio through AirPlay to an AirPort Express, Apple TV, or other AirPlay device (which is itself not turned up so you can hear it)?

No sound from itunes music iphone 4s

Just got Iphone 4s last week. I have been playing music through the speakers, today when I tried I get no sound from speakers. I have checked to make sure the iphone is not muted. I have turned off and on the iphone and I have reset the iphone, still no sound.

I have the same problem. iPhone 4S with newest update. No sound while playing music (grey volume buttons). No sound for alerts e.g. incoming SMS.
Total reset does not help. Restore from iTunes Backup helps, but sound only available for some minutes (can play music direct form iPhone, without ear-phone)
Issues is still open. All contact cleaned (ear-phone etc.)
Please help.

I lost sound on youtube on my mac mini, Yosemite OS X, internal sound ok, iTunes works ok. I tried removing camera and mic settings locations in system preferences. No change. Can I restart Safari? How do I do that?

Start up a video in the YouTube app. Once the video is playing, tap the screen once. You should see a volume slider appear near the bottom of the screen. Slide it with your finger all the way to the right.

After upgrading to iOS 5 I went to play music in the new 'Music' App. However, no sound came from the iphone (3gS) athough the songs continued to play. Has anyone encountered this issue and how have you resolved it. I thank you for responding to my question.

I have post eariler on another forum and I have the same problem, I have tried all the things listed here and nothing was perminant in fixing this painful iphone hating problem.... and failed. You probably have the problem when you use youtube or your music external speaker that there is no volume bar and no sound.   I have had the same problem But I need to happily say that I now have the fix!!!! This worked for me and I fixed it by myself so you don't need to go to apple or service centre or anything.
Ok I like so many of you here truly believed this was as IO5 issue as it only dropped the sound on the speakers once that IO5 update came along. I tried a bunch of reset, reboots, home clicks, lock and unlocks, to fix this and all failed. some worked for an hour but then failed. hours of my life that I will never get back.   but since I have learnt this is not a IO5 problem but a hardware issue! ... and in paticualar is has to do with your bottom connection. Your phone is thinking it is docked all the time.
To fix the no sound problem what you need is...
1. a torch
2. a tooth brush
3. methalated spirits
4. a butter knife
Step 1.
get your torch and shine it down the bottom connection plate to see what kind of dust, sand, hair or anything you have stuck in there.   all that need to be removed! everything! it might look clean but still thats ok go to step 2.
step 2.
Turn on your music app and put the speakers on! If your phone is like mine it should not work. you most probably don't even have the volume display to turn it on but its ok, just do it! and it should still play with no sound.   its important you try and run the speakers as this will show you that it is a hardware problem.
step 3.
Dip your tooth brush into some methated sprits.   then at your sink tap the exess metho out of your brush as you just want the brushes to be slightly damp, not soaking wet and then scrub the bottom connetiors on your iphone. work the brush back and forward in a way that scoops the dirt out of the phone, not just pushing it side to side.
(As you bushing you should notice the volume bar come back on or off as you scub.   This happened to me and that is how I realised I was on the right track to fixing this problem as I was doing something external that was actually controling when the volume display came on or off.   but once I cleaned it this still didn't fix the problem...)
Step 4.
Use the back side of a butter knife (not the sharp side) to gently slide over the connectors on the iphone. Do this gently as you are only pushing down on the tiny metal contect bars and you should notice the volume display come on again. slide it back and forward. Now the area of interest is about 2/3 along the connection plate to the right.   This is the area that has the infomation sent when your iphone thinks its docked.
This has worked for me and I have not had a problem since I did this 2 weeks ago.   I have since learnt that the new IOS 5 has activated a different part of the bottom conectors. if you have been using dodgy connectors or unapproved apple cables (as I was) any damage or hair and dirt on the terminal this is effecting it. Try it.   just remember if you can do something external to your phone then there lies the problem.

No sound from Touchsmart music.

Touchsmart music sees all my music but when I try to play a song there is no sound. Songs play ok in itunes and Windows Media player. When I press on a song to hear it, it appears to be starting and then stops. Any thoughts on what the problem is?

What is your TouchSmart computer model? Please provide to me the complete model reference.
Have you check for any update on that particular music module? Did it ever worked before?
Try to check if there is any update, if not, remove it and install it again via HP Recovery Manager.

I get sound when using my MacPro with Safari but not with Firefox.

Did you check the volume setting in the player to make sure that the sound isn't muted?
You can try to clear the Flash local storage.

Sound Disappeared from youtube / hyperlinks

when using Windows 7 (32 bit Home Premium version) in Bootcamp, it appears that I don't get any sound from youtube (or other similar sites, usually from email links). I can boot in MAC OSX and go to the same site and the web video will play with sound properly. All other system sounds in Bootcamp work, Skype works with sound fine. It only appears to be from like streaming webcasts type sounds. Nothing is muted, other sounds appear to work fine. Have tried to search similar issues but have not yet found similar situation. Has anyone else experienced this?

apparently this is a Google Chrome issue. So I've answered my own question.

No sound on YouTube or text alerts since ios8

I get no sound from YouTube when clicking from links in Facebook or emails.
Text alert tones also stop working randomly and it won't play alert tones in sounds settings. Ring tones are fine and I'm not using custom tones.
Sure a reboot fixes it temporarily but it stops working again after a few messages.
Any one else having this trouble?

Did it work before? When did this issue begin to occur? If it works before, system restore can be under consideration.
Please go into Internet Options>Advanced tab scroll down to Multimedia and make sure that "Play sounds in web pages" is check, click Apply/OK.
If it is already checked, uncheck it, click Apply/OK then go back and recheck it, click Apply/OK.
Meanwhile, does the sound work in the following website?

Meanwhile, it seems you have two output devices, please go to control panel-> sound->under playback tab, set the other device as default to test
the issue.
