laptop no sound HP Pavilion g6t-1d00 CTO Notebook PC Windows 7 64bit everything enabled. I don't want to try to install wrong code from forum searches.

    Hi,
    Try the following.
Download the IDT Audio installer on the link below and save it to your Downloads folder.
    http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp55001-55500/sp55036.exe
When done, open windows Control Panel, open Device Manager and open up Sound, Video and Game Controllers.  Right click the IDT device and select Uninstall - you should also get a prompt to remove the current driver, tick the box to allow this and then proceed with the uninstall.
When complete, shut down the notebook, unplug the AC Adapter and then remove the battery.  Hold  down the Power button for 30 seconds.  Re-insert the battery and plug in the AC Adapter.
Tap away at the esc key as you start the notebook to launch the Start-up Menu and then select f10 to enter the bios menu.  Press f5 to load the defaults ( this is sometimes f9, but the menu at the bottom will show the correct key ), use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and hit enter.  Press f10 to save the setting and again use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and hit enter.
Let Windows fully load - it will automatically load an audio driver, but just let this complete.  Then open your Downloads folder, right click on the IDT installer and select 'Run as Administrator' to start the installation.  When this has completed, right click the speaker icon in the Taskbar and select Playback Devices.  Left click 'Speakers and Headphones' once to highlight it and then click the Set Default button - check if you now have audio.

  • Problem with recording and sound on Pavilion ze1000 series

I have an old Hp Pavilion ze 1250 running Windows XP (sp2) with 1gb  Ram.
I'm trying to convert some cassette tapes to digital (with Audacity).
My problem:  When I try to record using Audacity, it records about 10 seconds and then hangs.  When I click Stop and try to play the 10 seconds back, it freezes and won't play anything.  (After that, even if I import an mp3 file to work on, it won't play that either.)  It also causes all the sound to go off throughout the computer.  Songs will "play" in WMP but there's no sound in the speakers or headphones.  (The Microsoft logo music won't play either when I turn the computer off.)  I've tried resetting the volume and checking if anything is muted. Nothing .
I restart the computer and everything is fine.....sound works and Audacity plays.....until I try to record again.
I thought that this was only an Audacity problem....until I tried to record 60 seconds through Sound Recorder.  The exact thing happens.  It records about 10 seconds of audio, then freezes and refuses to playback.  All the sound goes off throughout the computer and nothing solves it except Restart.
My sound/audio device is Conexant AC-Link Audio.
The Sound Playback, Sound Recording, Voice Playback, and Voice Recording are all defaulted to HP VIA Audio.
I have updated the audio driver.  Recording is enabled.  Is there something else I need to do?
    Thanks.

    Thank you for your reply.
I'll try some of those suggestions and see if that helps.

  • Loss of sound on Pavilion g6

I have kost sound on my HP Pavlilon g6 through the speakers, however sound is still working when earphones are installed to the laptop. Does anyone have any solutions to this problem?
    Thanks
    Matt

You may have a driver issue, try uninstall the audio driver from add/remove programs in control panel.
Download and install vista audio driver from your support page.

  • HDMI sound. Pavilion DV6. Windows 7. TV sound was working via HDMI. Now switched off?

I connected the pavilion dv6 to the tv with an HDMI cable. Sound and vision were working on the tv after setting the TV to HDMI.
My Grandson discovered that their was no sound from the computer and, unknown to me, changed something to get sound from the computer speakers which stopped sound from the tv.
How do I get sound back to the tv via HDMI. How do you switch from computer to tv sound and back ? can you have both at once ?
    malcolm

    Hi Malcolm,
Open windows Control Panel, open Device Manager and open up Display Devices - make a note of the hardware listed here i.e. ATI, Nvidia or Intel.
Next, connect your notebook via HDMI to your Tv.  Right click the speaker icon in the Taskbar and select Playback Devices.  Left click once ( just to highlight the entry ) the HDMI Output that has the same name as your display adapter and then click the Set Default button - see if you now have audio.

  • No sound on pavilion g6.

This has been asked lots of times and I have tried all the suggested solutions- agian and again and again. Nothing has solved it.
First the speakers went, then would work sometimes. But the headphones worked all the time, until a few weeks ago. Now i have no sound at all.
The mixer shows that something is happening- but no sound happens. The troubleshooter show that the devices are working properly.
I have tried pating drivers etc. on the HP support network, but now it doesn't even find my notebook when you have the option for HP to search for it. I can find it using my product code though (D9G69PA#ABG).
I cannot find the model number- I thought it was a Pavilion g6 2330, but cannot find it on the list of g6 models so I must have this wrong, but cannot find it  anywhere on the notebook.
    I am running windows 8, 64 bit.
Help as I am getting rather frustrated, and while it is still under warranty I do't want the hassle of being without the notebook, I assume it is an easy fix.

    Hey chelika,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
It sounds as though you have already completed much of the troubleshooting steps for resolving this particular issue. I would like to make sure that you have completed all the steps in the document 'No Sound from Speakers (Windows 8)'.
Now once you have/if you have completed the steps in the document, I would suggest reinstalling the original sound drivers for your notebook. Please follow through the steps in the document 'Using Recovery Manager to Restore Software and Drivers (Windows 8)'. Once you have reinstalled the original drivers, try testing out your speakers, and head phones. Then check to see if you do see any updates available. If you do have any updates available, please install them, and try the speakers, and headphones again.
Please let me know the outcome of the above troubleshooting steps.
    Thank you.

  • No Sound from Pavilion 15 Notebook PC

HP Pavilion 15 Notebook PC updated  to Windows 8.1 as recomended by the installed HP Support assistant
There is now no sound from the internal speakers but when connecting external speakers to the output jack they give sound.
I've followed various sets of instructions to update drivers / roll back driver all have failed.
The drivers installed are currently Realtek High Definition Audio Version 6.0.1.7071
    Any body got any ideas?

Hello peakay, welcome to the HP Forums.
It appears that you have no sound from the internal speakers on your notebook, that external ones work fine. I will try to help you with this.
I would recommend trying the steps in this document: No Sound from Speakers (Windows 8).
If you need further assistance after this, pleas provide the model and product numbers for your notebook.

  • When I plugin the headphones there is too low sound (hp pavilion g6)

    hi there
    I have pavilion g6 core i5
    the sound was great
but after I update the sound driver the sound  was very good in the laptop speakers but when I plugged in my headphones there is no sound ......
after that I descover that the sound is too low so that I need to use vlc and loud volume up to 200 % so that I almost hear asound
I tried to roll pack but no result
I uninstall my driver and still no sound in the headset
the problem I think I can't  make the  comunicatiion Headphones as default devise
I tried to use the windows digonistic and it tell me it can't be as defaul device ......
so any one have a new Idea so that O can fix this with out format my computer ????
    please help me

    Hi
I had the same problem after installing linux fedora. Barely audible headphones and perfectly working speakers. I tried everything latest drivers etc none of them worked. The only thing that worked for me was this
    1) power down the computer.
    2) go into the bios and disable the sound. ( make sure you save this new configuration )
    3) Reboot the computer and start windows.  You will obviously now have no sound at all as you have disabled the inbuilt sound card.
    4) power down the computer again and go back into the bios and ENABLE the sound again ( save your settings and restart your computer into windows again)
    5) After doing this I had the sound working properly through the headphones and the speakers
I hope this helps. I think this solution works because after you disable the sound in bios and restart windows gets rid of all the sound and device settings. then when you re-enable the sound windows resets the device to it's factory default.  I might be wrong on the explanation but the 5 steps above worked for me. I hope it works for you to.

  • Weak Beats Audio sound from Pavilion X2 Laptop

I purchased a 11" Pavilion x2 Laptop/Tablet for Christmas and believe I am having trouble with the Beats Audio. The sound coming from the computer speakers is so weak as to be useless and all of the settings will not get the sound loud enough to hear unless you put your ear within 4-6 inches of the screen. However the sound from the earphones is great, loud and adjustable. I have performed all updates from Microsoft and HP and followed all troubleshooting steps suggested by HP Web Site. Any ideas or do I just need to return it.

    Hello dontom,
For not being able to hear very well from the 11" Pavilion x2, I would like to confirm the troubleshooting steps that you have completed. I have you completed all the steps in this document 'No Sound from Speakers (Windows 8)'? Are you using any special software, or just the volume icon in the system tray? Does it play the same level of audio for all programs and files? (ie. Netflix, YouTube, or music).
Please also let me know the full model number of your X2. I have included the document 'Guide to finding your product number'.
    Thank you.

  • Loss of sound on pavilion dv6700 since upgrading to Windows 10

since upgrading to windows 10 I have lost my audio.....can't play MP3 music and the system sounds do not work...searched for sound card driver and found three recommended...each one reported suitable hardware not found.....decided to reinstall the sound card driver from my windows 7 install, as luckily I backed up all my drivers before upgrading to OS10.....,although it installed, still no sound...have removed device and drivers and let the laptop reinstall after restart.....don't know what else to try.....don't suppose there is a function key muting sound that I don't know about....thanks

Hi there Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome! I just need your specific Model Number (How Do I Find My Model Number or Product Number?) I read your post on the HP Support Forums and see that you are having issues with your HP Pavilion dv6700 Entertainment Notebook PC. I understand that since you have upgraded to Windows 10, you are having an issue with your sound not working. I would be happy to assist you. Please note remove any and all USB devices. Disconnect all non-essential devices, as these could cause some issues. Have you tried in the Device Manager to update the driver that is currently installed? Have you tried to select "Find New Hardware" in the Device Manager?Have you tried connecting headphones to see if the Sound issues persist that way?Have you tried to uninstall in the following order: 1. Uninstall the sound driver in Device Manager2. Restart your Notebook3. Reinstall the driver? You can use the HP Support Assistant for drivers. Here is a link to the HP Support Assistant if you need it. Just download and run the application and it will help with the software and drivers on your system that need updating for Windows 10. If you choose to download the drivers from the HP Driver's Page and there is not a driver in the Windows 10 Column, there should be one in the Windows 8.1 column. The Windows 8.1 drivers should work in Windows 10 also.  Have you tried the Disable and then Enable method? If not, you can find this and other troubleshooting steps in the HP Notebook PCs - No Sound from Speakers (Windows 10, 8) document.  Please follow these provided troubleshooting steps, re-post and let me know how everything went. Thank you! Have a great day!

  • Suddenly no sound from pavilion dv5. How to get it back?

I seem to have done something that told my HP pavilion dv5 that I didn't want any sound.  What now?

    Hi,
The easiest way to solve this may be to run Windows System Restore.  If you have Norton Internet Security installed, you will need to disable Nortons Tamper Protection as shown in Step 2, on the link below.
    http://us.norton.com/support/kb/web_view.jsp?wv_type=public_web&docurl=20091112171719EN&ln=en_US
Once you've done this, shut down the notebook.  Windows System Restore is usaully best run in Safe Mode.  Tap away at f8 as you start the notebook to enter Windows Recovery Console.  Use the arrow keys to select Safe Mode and hit enter.  When this has loaded, from the Start Menu, click All Programs, click Accessories, click System Tools and launch System Restore.  Pick a restore point at least 24 hours before the Audio issue and then proceed with the restore process.  When complete, Windows will reboot as normal.

  • Sound distortion - Pavilion DV6-3040sa

    Hi,
When i was at university, i had to connect my laptop via ethernet to gain internet access as there was no wi-fi connection in student halls. The sound distortion was quite bad. I couldn't even listen to music or watch video's as the sound would go distorted. It got worse if i tried streaming videos off the internet such as youtube. When i returned home, i connected to the internet via wi-fi and i didn't seem to experience any sound distortion. The sound was fine except for the odd occasional distortion but it wasn't a big problem. I assume it is something to do with the network cards? If someone could help me fix this problem, it would be much appreciated. I'd like to enjoy my music and videos without any distortion again
    Thanks,
    Kin.

Uninstall both audio and network drivers through Control Panel > Programs and Features, reboot the computer and install updated one from here

  • No sound on Pavilion dm4-3009tx Beats Edition

Send my notebook into Hibernate. When he returned - no sound on him. Re-install driver from http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=ob-104903-1&cc=hk&dlc=en&lc=en... , nothing changes. No sound when i used headphones, no sound when i use speakers on notebook.

    Hi,
    Perform a hard reset:
Unplug the AC adapter from the notebook PC.
Remove the battery from the notebook battery compartment.
Remove the computer from any port replicator or docking station, disconnect cables to printers or devices such as external monitors, USB memory sticks or SD cards, headset or external speakers, mouse or auxiliary keyboard, turn off WIFI and Bluetooth wireless devices.
Press and hold down the power button for about 1 minute to drain any residual electrical charge from the capacitors that protect the memory.
Insert the battery and plug the AC adapter back into the notebook PC; but do not connect any of the peripheral devices.
Press the power button to turn the notebook PC back on.
If prompted to boot into Safe Mode or select a special type of start up, use the arrow keys to highlight Start Windows Normally , and then press the enter key.

  • No Sound HP Pavilion dv9925nr Notebook PC

About two days ago, I lost all sound to my laptop.  I am getting the following messages at startup:  Could not find Conexant audio device, application cannot run properly and No audio output device installed.  I have not made any changes.  This seemed to have began after a MIcrosoft update.  I have downloaded the Conexant driver from the HP website to no avail.  There was a point where I did have sound but it didn't last very long.  One other observation,  I am missing the Sound, video and game controller link in Device Manager.  I'm at my wits end and need assistance in diagnosing/correcting this problem.  Is this an indication of a hardware error?

i had the same issue. my laptop is not detecting the hardware so i cant update or anything. ive tried restoring to a previous date, a few days before the problem started, but it did nothing. i had installed some updates for the audio and the graphics card and the internet modem and for the BIOS from the hp website. the audio came back for a few mins twice and one time it tried on its own to install an update for the high definition bus but it want able to do it and the audio died again. I've tried all of the suppourt sites and hp site but they have no hellp for it. i think im gonna have to take it somewhere to get fixed
