I read through these forums and literaly tried all the solutions, hopefully you will prove me wrong and give me the answers I need.
So my pc went into hibernation and when I woke it up there was no sound. I did the following in no particular order:
- uninstall, re-install audio driver (a million times, a million different ways)
- installed the chipsets
- booted, rebooted several times
- restored pc to 4 days ago
- undated BIOS 
Still to no avail, this actually happened once before but I was able to fix it right away, this was a few months ago.
I can see my equalizer move up and down as it moves with youtube or music but there is absolutely no sound coming out the computer nor the external speakers I plug in. No turn on or shut down sounds either, ZERO.
HELP!

Another document you can follow to try and resolve the issue - No Sound from the Speakers (Windows 7)
I understand that performing a reset can be a nuisance but a hard or forced reset erases all information in the computer's memory which may restore functionality. Resetting your computer forces the system to clear and reestablish the software connections between the BIOS and the hardware.
Performing a hard or forced reset might fix the following conditions:
-Windows stops responding.
-Computer stops before Windows loads - no boot, blinking cursor on a black display, and errors relating to OS not found or a missing drive.
-Display suddenly goes blank and stays blank.
-Software freezes.
-Keyboard stops responding.
-The computer does not return from sleep or suspend mode.
-An external device stops responding. (Turn off the power to that device in addition to performing the steps in this document.)
As you can see, a hard reset although not convenient could resolve the issue you are experiencing and is very much worth a try.

    So as the title says I have no sound. I have tried all the trouble shooting suggestions none of which have helped. I have unistalled/re-installed skype many times and the probelem still persists. I have checked all the audio options and have set all the appropriate ones to my headset ('Headset Earphone (Razer Kraken 7.1)').
    The only way I can get sound from skype is by changing the audio settings to my speakers and turning them on... My headset isn't broken becuase all other sound from my computer works fine with them.  But why not skype.
    Other info:
    Operating System - Windows 7 64-bit
    Skype Version - 7.1.59.105
    If nobody is able to provide a solution can someone please point me in the direction of the customer support. I have been unable to find any way to contact them on the site.

    All that's left is either to send it away for service to one of the many 3rd party repair sites (cheaper than Apple), or if you're knowledgeable about these things, open it up yourself. Might be just a loose connection that you can quickly repair.

    Perform a hard reset:
    Unplug the AC adapter from the notebook PC.
    Remove the battery from the notebook battery compartment.
    Remove the computer from any port replicator or docking station, disconnect cables to printers or devices such as external monitors, USB memory sticks or SD cards, headset or external speakers, mouse or auxiliary keyboard, turn off WIFI and Bluetooth wireless devices.
    Press and hold down the power button for about 1 minute to drain any residual electrical charge from the capacitors that protect the memory.
    Insert the battery and plug the AC adapter back into the notebook PC; but do not connect any of the peripheral devices.
    Press the power button to turn the notebook PC back on.
    If prompted to boot into Safe Mode or select a special type of start up, use the arrow keys to highlight Start Windows Normally , and then press the enter key.

  • No sound on HP Envy 14 Beats Edition. Sound disappeared for no apparent reason.

    HP Envy 14 Beats Edition laptop (product QE295UA#ABA) running Windows 7 Home Premium version 6.1 (build 7601, service pack 1).
    I don't recall running any software updates.  I've confirmed that  no mute buttons  are on.   I've tried the Windows troubleshooter for Playing Audio/Speakers and Headphones but the software does not detect any problems.  I've tried reinstalling the driver to no avail.

    Try the following.
    Download the IDT Audio installer on the link below and save it to your Downloads folder.

    When done, open windows Control Panel, open Device Manager and open up Sound, Video and Game Controllers.  Right click the IDT device and select Uninstall - you should also get a prompt to remove the current driver, tick the box to allow this and then proceed with the uninstall.
    When complete, shut down the notebook.
    Tap away at the esc key as you start the notebook to launch the Start-up Menu and then select f10 to enter the bios menu.  Press f9 to load the defaults ( this is sometimes f5, but the menu at the bottom will show the correct key ), use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and hit enter.  Press f10 to save the setting and again use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and hit enter.
    Let Windows fully load - it will automatically load an audio driver, but just let this complete.  Then open your Downloads folder, right click on the IDT installer and select 'Run as Administrator' to start the installation.  When this has completed, right click the speaker icon in the Taskbar and select Playback Devices.  Left click 'Speakers and Headphones' once to highlight it and then click the Set Default button - check if you now have audio.

  • Crackling sound from right speaker - Envy 14 Beats edition

    The right speaker on my Envy 14 Beats edition has a crackling/static sound when playing any sort of sound from it.  I assumed it was a faulty speaker since its just the right speaker..  I've talked to HP support and they had me send it in. 
    After two weeks I got it back only to find that they simply changed some audio configurations in an attempt to fix it.  Nothing has changed and the problem still exists. 
    Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem and if there is some sort of fix for this without me having to send it back to them to replace the speaker.  

    Hello tedebare73.  I understand your notebook is making a weird sound from the left speaker.
    Are there any other electronic devices (guitar amplifiers, cell phones, speakers) around the notebook?  These can all cause very strange noises.
    Try hard resetting the notebook as well.  Here are the steps.  
    Shut down the notebook.
    Remove the battery and AC power.
    Press and hold the power button for 10-15 seconds three times.
    Replace the battery and AC power.
    Verify whether the problem persists.
    Finally, if neither of the above have an effect try removing and reinstalling the driver.  Here are instructions.
    Go to your Device Manager.
    Expand the "Sound, video, and game controllers" section.
    Right click on your audio device and select "Uninstall."
    Reboot the notebook.  Windows will automatically reinstall the driver.
    Verify whether the problem persists.

  • Envy 14 Beats edition crackling sound

    I have the Envy 14 Beats Edition (dm4t-3000) that keeps having an intermintent crackling or fuzzy sound that is coming from the back right corner of the computer (around the wireless card) .  I have looked everywhere on this forum for answers but I have found none.  Sometimes when it is makeing the sound if I click on the mute button it will act like it is going to stop but doesn't.

    Please try if updating the audio driver help to resolve the issuue.

  • Weird ringing noise when laptop is plugged into AC - HP ENVY 14-2050se Beats Edition Notebook PC

    Hi, last month I bought this HP ENVY 14-2050se Beats Edition Notebook from a nearby electronics store and I loved it from first sight. Except a few problems emerged when I first turned it on at home. First, yes I did a full hp recovery factory restore when I got home. It is running Windows 7 Home Premium and I already tried muting the microphone and speakers and it has not solved the problem whatsoever but it only shows up when I have my Envy plugged into AC power, on battery it makes no noises.
    The problem is that whenever it is plugged in it makes a weird ringing noise which is very clear and hearable to me and my friends and gives me headaches constantly. The noise is almost identicle to that ringing noise you get in your ears after hearing very loud noises. I tried using my mom's HP ac adapter on my Envy and it still produces the noise so its not the adapter itself im assuming. Also, sometimes when playing music or watching videos on youtube it will hang for a split second or so once every while and make a weird buzzing noise, im assuming that could be normal behavior though and im not as worried about that so much as my other problem.
    Any help is greatly appreciated, I just want to enjoy this great laptop!

    Hi, you aren't the only one.
    I have a HP Envy, and I have this rining noise as well.
    it is odd.
    If I had to take a guess (I've been in IT for almost 17 years), I think it might be the power supply for some reason, in the laptop.  Not the external supply.
    Nearest I can say is it is a fast paced ring/ding.
    Is yours similar?

  • HP Envy 14 Beats Edition Equalizer Presets deleted

    So I have had my Envy 14 Beats Edition for awhile now (5 months). It has been causing me problems, but the one that is bothering me the most currently is the fact that my Equalizer no longer works. 
    A few weeks ago I set all settings in my equalizer to max to get the most sound out as I could for a dance session. Since then no matter what I do the equalizer stays at the settings that I changed it to. Even if I changed seperate dB settings (i.e. bass vs highs) the sound still comes out exactly the same.
    Beats Studio and Beat Tour presets no longer make a difference either.
    Does anyone know a fix to this problem?

    Open windows Control Panel, open Administrative Tools and open Services.  Check that the following services are all showing as Status= Started and Startup Type= Automatic
    Audio Service
    Multimedia Class Scheduler
    Windows Audio
    Windows Audio Endpoint Builder
    If you need to make a change to any of the above, just right click the service and select Properties, then in the dropdown box next to 'Start-up type',  select Automatic and click Apply to save the change.  Then click the Start button.
    What happens when you try to reinstall the IDT driver using Recovery Manager now?

  • Dm4 beats edition sound quality

    hi
    just got a new dm4 se3170 beats edition .
    Connected it to external speakers , and the sound isnt good & clear enough.
    a friend of mine has dv6 , also with beats audio, and the sound is much more "open" / "clear" / "round" and "full" .
    you can hear every note, every instrument very clear and warm. perfect sound.
    its not the same with my notebook
    i compared both notebooks on same speakers, same songs, with same beats EQ settings,
    and it just a different sound..
    can it be that the sound of dv6 is much better than the dm4 beats edition ? is there a significant hardware difference ?
    i don't know if that's how it is (if yes , very very disappointing), or that something is wrong with my notebook...
    bought it mainly because of the sound and beats audio.
    by the way ; tried to uninstall and reinstall the driver, didnt make a change.
    will appreciate getting help from one of your sound experts.

    sound is still not OK.
    no dynamic range,
    its like sounds are getting mixed together,
    the high tones are very very high and dominant. its like i have no mid tones, and also bass very week and not sharp.
    at the sound window i have speakers & headphones - as default device, and communication headphones - as ready. is that how it should be ?
    must say again i tested another notebook (dv6 of a friend) with the same speakers, with same beats EQ settings , with same music and it was perfect. so its clear i guess the problem is at my hardware and not my beats settings or the speakers.
    IM reminding that it my model dm4 beats edition i have only one jack for both speakers and mic. is it possible that the problem related to this thing ? 
    what should i do more ??

    GF's Envy Beats 15 running windows 7 has no sound thru speakers or headphones. She tried a system restore and it gave her the message -"your computer was unable to restart, attempting repairs". After a 2nd attempt at system restore there is still no sound. This occurred after an update a couple days ago. Any help is appreciated. Evrything works but sound, pc is slow to boot however.

  • Curve 9360 custom sound alerts for messages will not work. Tried EVERYTHING.

    I have a brand spanking new BlackBerry Curve 9360 that just arrived yesterday.  It is great apart from this very frustrating small prob.  I can not customise my message alerts for individual people in my address book.  When I click on "try it" only the LED button flashes and there is no sound or vibration.  I am trying to get the sound and vibrate to play as "active profile" but it just won't.  I can override it and have custom volume and vibrate that plays no matter what the profile but as I sometimes like to set my main profile to vibrate or silent, it won't do.
    So far, to fix it, I have tried:
    Wiping profile and sounds from the blackberry software
    Full factory reset
    Creating my own profile and using that instead of "normal" or any of the other preset ones
    Loads of battery pulls before and/or after any changes
    I have also had a few different people text me to make sure the problem isn't just the "try it" feature.  It isn't.  The sound that plays is always the default message sound for whatever the default profile is.
    If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated

    I have also experienced exactly the same problem.
    The profile is set on normal, with the ringer volume on 10, the ring tone has been selected, and I have also selected the option of the vibrator along with the ring tone.
    Now here is the problem, initially it rings and works perfectly, however it seems to automatically turn off the volume so the LED light keeps flashing, however there is not ring tone or vibration.
    If you select the "normal" profile or any other profile and change the ring tone or the volume, and click on the try it icon at the bottom, it still only flashes the LED, with no sound.
    Have tried everything that you have mentioned in your email, however still unable to rectify the issue. the only way to rectify is it to hard stop the BB, by pulling out the battery and restarting the Blackberry.
    Can anyone help or suggest what needs to be done ?

    Premiere Elements 7, on what computer operating system?
    In Premiere Elements 7, there are various effects for lightening a dark video. After applying one of these lighting effects, have you been editing these applied effects in Edit Effects/Properties Palette after you apply them?

    Adjust - Brightness and Contrast, Auto Levels....
    Image Control  Panel that is a default Properties Palette panel along with Motion and Opacity....for Brightness, Contrast, Hue, and Saturation.

    There are a couple things you can try. The first thing I would recommend is resetting all settings by going to Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings. If that doesn't work, take a look at the article below for additional troubleshooting steps.
