No sound in browser when viewing flash applications
Hey people, I hope someone can help me...
I have no sound on anything related to flash when viewing
pages online. Flash games or movies (for example) play the video
just fine, but no sound. This has been happening for a few days and
I can't recall anything I did to trigger this.
I am running windows xp home edition, sound card drivers are
all updated, no viruses or spyware, and I have uninstalled and
reinstalled flash player, shockwave player and quicktime a few
times to no avail.
Seems I have done everything in my power to find out what is
wrong, and nothing seems to work. All of my volume control settings
are unmuted and turned up full...
Help?

No Sound when viewing Flash content in Safari for Windows
Hopefully someone can help.
Just recently, I've been unable to get sound when viewing Flash content on the web.
I currently use Safari for Windows, when I use Internet Explorer on the same computer I can get sound. Just no sound when using Safari for Windows????
Please help, I like Safari for Windows much better than I.E. but I'm forced to use IE when I want to watch something with sound.
Thank youAre you using Safari 3.1.2?
Try reinstalling the Flash plugin at: http://www.apple.com/safari/download/plugins.html -
Scrubbing in Browser when viewing as List
I just got Tom's FCE 4.0 book and I'm having a hang up. There's a section that talks about being able to scrub a thumbnail in the browser when viewing your project as a list. I cannot figure out how to get to the thumbnail. I tried right clicking in the browser, right cliking on the item. How do you bring up the thumbnail? Tom was refering to "a neat trick in the browser, "Show Thumbnail"
You are probably clicking in the "Name" column. Use the "Duration" or any of the other columns.
It must be in the box where "Duration" or the other titles are ........... not in the columns below.

Macbook Pro Late 2008 gets hot, fans kick on at 6200 rpm, and CPU usage of about 65% when viewing Flash Content. I've been to the Adobe Forum, but saw no solution for this. Already unchecked Hardware Acceleration. I had motherboard replaced just a week ago, so that's not the issue. I hope someone can help.
MDhennin wrote:
Yes it was happening before the logicboard was replaced. I'm up to date with Flash and Software Updates too. Macbook can handle everything but Flash content. So I assume its related to some kind of incompatability. Not sure though. I have come across others who have the same issue.
Ok, dumb question on my part, but did any of those others find a solution? If not, what have they, and you, tried? If you don't mind, posting a link to content which causes this might be helpful (I don't watch a lot of Flash-based video, but I've never had an issue like that on my early 2008/less able MBP . . .). -

I am running OSX 10.5.8 currently, and have followed all of the tips and advice on the help sites (IE. uninstalling, installing pluggins, programs like adobe, and reinstalling firefox). I tried deleting and resetting the mimetypes.rdf file and the pluginreg.dat files. I have noticed that when you open the FF preferences window, and look at applications, there is no Portable Document Format file type listed. How do I fix this?
Install '''PDFescape''' extension from the FF add-on gallery. I think it may help to your problem

No Sound through amp when viewing content onlineon my 55L7200U only on TV Speakers
When ever I view video clips through the browser on my TV there is no sound that is sent back to my AMP. I can only get sound out of the built in speakers on the TV. Is this normal or should I be able to hear the sound through the sound system tha is hooked up to the TV. All other attchements, Blu Ray, Game console etc work through the amp just the TV does not.
Is it on specific content? Have you tried rebooting all devices and making sure they are up to date?

File Download Pop up when viewing flash site
I created a website with flash and everytime I look at it on
my computer is views ok. When I look at it on another computer it
goes to the website but when I try to click on the lnk to go to the
next page, I get a pop up message thats prompts me to open or
download. Wehn I click to open it say website not found...
Someone please help. This is what it says:
File Download_Security Warning
Name: gallery
Type: Shockwave object, 3.62MB
From:www.photographybykimledoux.com
Here is the website..
www.photographybykimledoux.comAs you probably guess I dont use IE.
When I searched for it on my computer, it did not come up, so I went to the MS download center and downloaded the Internet explorer for Windows 7 x64. Ran the installer but before it could finish, it gave my this error:
The link set me to this site, my responces the things on the site are as follows:
I am running Win7 with Sp1,
I have run Windows Update to the latest updates,
I meet the specifications for IE11
I am not running an incompattable video card
All updates are complete
I am running a x64 computer and have the x64 installer
I do not have any previous versions of IE on the computer
It looks as though the computer did not come with IE or it has been uninstalled at some point by a user. The installer is not giving any clues to what made it stop , so I am afraid that I can give you no more inforamtion about that.
The only other thing is the point about the .dll file problems. I think that there may be a serious problem with the computer regarding the .dll files as many of them seem to be broken/ corrupt... I can see no solution to that apart from maybe copy-pasting the broken ones over from my other computer that is working, might that work?
Thanks! -
When viewing flash video, CPU Usage goes to 100%
When I try to watch a streaming video that uses Flash Player (say nbc.com),
my CPU Usage goes to 100%. It causes the audio to crackle, video to freeze,
and ultimately locks up my whole computer. When I check Task Manager,
the Flash Player usage is through the roof. If I can manage to pause the video,
the Flash Player usage drops down to 5%, and similarly overall CPU usage down to only around
5%, but as soon as I press play . . . It very rapidly within 20 seconds sends CPU usage
to 100%. This happens in either Firefox or IE. This is assuming that I can pause the
video quick enough. If I don't, the whole CPU crashes with usage locked at 100%, and
only a hard reboot (power button) will work.
I am running the most recent versions of Flash Player and Firefox on Windows 7.
More specifically:
Flash Player version: 11.5 r502
Firefox version: 18.0.1
I am running Windows 7 Home-Premium 32-bit.
Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo CPU @ 2.10 GHz 2.10GHz
Memory: 4GHz installed (2.87 GHz usable)
I have already followed the steps in the "Windows 7 Flash Player Problems" list.
I.E. deleting Flash Player cache, and disabling Hardware Acceleration
But this has not solved the problem.
Please help!!
Thanks!Hi Chris,
I've recorded the complete DXDIAG report at the bottom.
I tried the HTML5 video, and it plays smoothly with no problems,
total CPU usage always stayed below 10%, and Flash was always at 0%.
I tried the non-HMTL5 video, and it did play fine all the way through,
Flash Player usage seemed to fluctuate between 10-20%, with memory
usage slowly creeping up to 93,000K. Typically on the videos on NBC.com
say, the flash player usage would rapidly go to 150,000K and simultaneously
the flash player CPU usage would skyrocket: 20%, 40%, 70%, . . . taking
the CPU usage to 100% and causing the problems I mentioned. In
fact, YouTube is probably one of the few video sites where I typically
don't have problems. Once the Flash Player would get out of hand, typically
the video would start skipping and the audio crackling, then audiodg.exe
would start using 10% resources which would aggravate the problem.
Hopefully you will notice something from the DirectX Diagnostic Tool.
In the meantime, I will try the Flash 11.6 Beta.
Here is the complete record from DXDIAG:

Sluggishness when viewing Flash contents
Im not sure when, but probably after I updated my Firefox
from v1.5 to 2.0, I experienced sluggishness whenever there's Flash
contents in websites.
I realised the quality is set to high by default. And that
caused the sluggishness. How to configure the quality setting so
that I can change it to Medium as default? Because whenever I
change manually by right clicking on the flash content as set it to
'medium', if i close the broswer and reopened (or even refresh the
page), the quality flash content is set to high again as default.
anyone can help me with this? ThanksThis isn't just an issue with FF2. I have experienced this
issue on both FF 1.0.5 and 1.5.
The more flash content, the worse FF responds. -
Skipping Problem when vieweing Flash Videos
Hi.
I've downloaded and istalled the latest flash plugin, but
videos on sites like youtube and google videos skip every few
seconds. It's really, really annoying.
I'm running XP on a 1.0 Ghz Athlon (not Athlon 64, just
Athlon). Have about 320 mb ram. Also have this Riva TNT2 32mb video
card.
I've tried to watch videos on both Firefox 2 and Internet
Explorer 7, but both are the same. When I download flash videos
though, and play them through VLC player or something like that, I
don't get any skips. It's just for online videos.
No, it's not about loading the videos either. Even if I wait
until the video's fully loaded, The skipping's still there. And no,
nothing's running in the background as I play the videos.
I've also tried to uninstall the plugin via the "flash
uninstaller" downloaded from adobe, reboot, reinstall the plugin,
reboot. No Dice. Also tried running a few antispyware programs.
Still skips.
I've tried turning off the windows firewall, and tried
without any other anti-virus or firewall running, and still get
skips.
It's as if the video's refreshing every 3-6 seconds...
Please help
Edit:
Just tried downloading Opera for the hell of it and trying to
watch videos on it, but still get skips. Also tried firefox's safe
mode (no plugins).Hi 9000,
Have you verified flash is up to date? If it's not up to date, have you considered downloading & the latest flash player?
While your at it, you may want to verify that Adobe ShockWave is up to date. And if it's not, download and install the latest 64-bit shockwave player.
If your still having issues, have you tried using another account on your dad's computer? dose it have the same issue?
if it's only your dad's account that has issues, you may want to try deleting flash cookies by using a program like Flush.app – Flash Cookie Removal Tool For OS X.
cheers,

I am using SWFOBJECT to embed my flash content.
I have been worried about stage.stageWidth and stage.stageHeight returning 0 in Firefox/Internet Explorer; this problem is referred to in question #21 on the SWFOBJECT FAQ (http://code.google.com/p/swfobject/wiki/faq).
I have been told that this problem is particularly prevelant on Macs.
The SWFOBJECT FAQ (question 21) indirectly suggests that this problem does not occur with static publishing. Is this correct? Is it still advisable to implement a solution to this stageWidth/stageHeight problem, even if you are using static publishing?
Thank you.Bug 3637793

Clicking sound in Safari when viewing new tabs
Hi,
I'm having an issue with safari v5.0.2 on a macbook pro, where each time I first visit a new page on a tab, I hear a clicking sound. It only happens to tabs with pages I'm visiting for the first time in the session.
I have several other Macs which don't show the issue.
I'm getting a bit paranoid, cos I bought the macbook pro from an acquaintance who's had it a number of years. He had "wiped" the disk of his stuff before handing it over, but I found a tracking software installed.
I've since erased the disk, but this sound (which my other 4 comps don't make) is making me nervous.
Any thoughts? Thanks.I did a 7-pass erase.
That'll do it eh
...comes through the speakers
good - must be some software glitch or universal access setting; the account test should confirm where to look, or you might start by disabling any safari extensions or other add-ons.
