No Sound in Firefox when running Adobe Flash
Please note that: Irritation is present.
Upon trying to view videos, example: youtube, television sites, Flash runs perfectly, smoothly, buffers way fast as well, but the only issue is I cannot coax sound out of this thing (Asus Laptop from the M6 series) Other applications have great sound. Am using OSS if that makes a difference, since its not the default, but moving back and forth between OSS and other sound managers does not help. Upon STW I found that this is a common problem with Firefox, but the fixing is different depending on what operating system you use, its most commonly related to hooks and the like it seems. If anyone could help me out, that'd be great!

Firefox crashes on open after running Adobe flash
I need to run Adobe flash for a support site I use for work. There was a flash update and ever since the update firefox crashes immediately when I open it. If I uninstall firefox, uninstall flash, reboot my pc, re-install firefox, then firefox will run. Once I re-install flash and go to the support site I need to visit, firefox will then crash whenever I open it. I've noticed that if I don't uninstall firefox and flash but go into firefox after a reboot it stays up, but once I go to the support site that requries flash firefox will then crash whenever I start it. I've tried older versions of flash and firefox but the resutls are same. Anyone have any ideas to help? I use IE for the support site that requires flash and it works ok.

In order to better understand the issue, a little investigation will have to be done.

Why am I having trouble running Adobe Flash Player 11 on my 2011 Macbook Air? I've downloaded and installed it repeatedly; yet when I try to open certain images online or play certain Youtube segments, I get the message, "You must have Adobe Flash 11..." My computer tells me it is installed and running.
If you're sure you've installed the latest version of Flash, take each of the following steps that you haven't already tried. After each step, relaunch Safari and test. For a "missing plug-in" error, start with Step 5.
1. If you're only having trouble with YouTube videos, sign in to your YouTube account and load this page. You may see a link with the text "Leave the HTML5 Trial." If so, click that link.
2. If you're getting a "blocked plug-in" error, then from the menu bar select
▹ System Preferences… ▹ Flash Player ▹ Advanced
and click Check Now. Quit and relaunch your browser.
3. Triple-click the line below to select it:
/Library/Internet Plug-Ins
Right-click or control-click the highlighted text and select
Services ▹ Open
from the contextual menu. A folder should open. Delete the following item, or anything with a similar name, if present:
Flash Player (failing).plugin
You may be prompted for your login password.
4. Re-download and reinstall Flash. Download it from this page:

Never download a Flash update from anywhere else.
5. If you get a "missing plug-in" error, select
Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Security
from the Safari menu bar and check the box marked Enable plug-ins.
6. Select
Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Extensions
from the Safari menu bar. If any extensions are installed, disable them.
7. In the Safari preference window, select
Privacy ▹ Remove All Website Data
Close the window. Then select
▹ System Preferences… ▹ Flash Player ▹ Advanced
and click Delete All. Close the preference pane. -
Is there something I should be aware of when attempting to run Adobe Flash (application/x-shockwave-flash)?
I've been on a couple websites that tell me that I should download the above mentioned plugin. BUT when I click for it to be installed, I receive the mesage "No suitable plugins were found". I remember some comments about Flashplayer (?) being a problem and I don't want to screw things up. I'm running OS X 10.7.4. Any comments will be greatly appreciated.Only download it from a trusted site such as adobe website. It's fine.

Cannot run adobe flash player on windows 8.1 pro with IE 11
this is very frustrating and I have research multiple Q&A on this forum with no resolution.
When I try to run adobe flash player I get the error:
Either Flash Player is disabled or ActiveX Filter is ON.
Please follow trouble shooting steps to play Flash content.
I have gone through the steps to attempt to resolve this as indicated on the adobe site and it is not resolved

Update Internet Explorer to get latest version of Flash Player
I have removed and re-added IE 11.
I have been trying to research this for days and have hit a dead end.

I'm sorry you're encountering issues with Flash Player on Windows 8.1 with Internet Explorer 11. There is a new Flash Player update available today. The new update should be available from the link at the bottom of the Flash Player Issues | Windows 8 page. You can also run Windows Update from the Control Panel to obtain the latest update (KB2974008). If the latest update doesn't display, install all available updates and then check for updates again.

Microsoft embeds Flash Player in Internet Explorer on Windows 8.x. Users cannot install Flash Player for Internet Explorer on their own. They must install the Internet Explorer Update for Flash Player to update Flash Player on Windows 8.x

Adobe Flash is pretty much a 32-bit application. You may be able to fix the problem by going into your Applications folder, and right-clicking on Safari. There is a check box that will allow you to run Safari in 32-bit mode. Try that and see if Flash works in Safari.
I have retired my iMac, and have an HP now, but a friend helped me with the same problem when I upgraded to Snow Leopard. My PC seems to have just one 64-bit browser, that being Internet Explorer. I am using IE9 Beta in 64-bit, and the Beta for Flash "Square" in 64-bit seems to work fine. See link below:

pixelation problems occurs in my videos when using adobe flash but using chromes pepper flash no problemes so its definitely adobe problems on my WIndows 8.1
Problem is:
Flash Player for IE11 (which is the worst browser ever developed - BAR NONE) is a Microsoft product, when it comes right down to it.
Adobe writes the base code and yes, they do collaborate on updates for it, but the gang in Redmond alter the plug-in and add "proprietary" code before embedding it, and at that point it's "their baby".
There are two (2) registry keys - 1 for 32 bit IE and the other for 64 bit IE, as well as a KB patch that prevent all but the most experienced Windows users from ever touching the Flash Player plug-in for IE. So there's NO WAY you could have done a clean install of the ActiveX plug-in in Windows 8. Unless you're an uber-geek, you can only update it through Windows Update.
WIn 8 is an abomination and IE11 made it worse. IE has always been the "problem child" of browsers, failing to handle CSS, Javascript, some PHP and most design "tweaks" that good webmasters can use with other browsers, trouble free.
I have IE8 on XP, 9 on VIsta, 11 on 7, 10 on 8 and 11 on 8.1... but they're all for testing only. I'd have to be out of my mind to ever think of using IE as my primary browser. ActiveX controls have to be disabled formost stuff and that opens millions of security holes in IE.
You've got a good video card and a decent sound card. It's a shame to waste them on a pile of garbage like IE, just because it came with Windows. -
WHy am I not getting sound on my videos with Adobe Flash 10.1?
There is no sound in Firefox when I go to Youtube.com. I have downloaded Flash v10.1, checked the Mixer settings. I can hear sound when I use Internet Explorer (Yuk!). what else can I do?

If it won't download directly, right click and "Save as"
Go to: Mac HD/Library/Internet Plugins
Trash the Flash Player.plugin file from there
Go to: Mac HD/Library/Application Support/Adobe
Trash the Flash Player folder (the whole folder)
Empty the trash
Reboot
Mount the DMG and run the installer.
BEFORE opening any Flash content in Safari, open Safari>Preferences, and check the Security tab to make sure "Allow all other plugins" is checked. -
Hi, i have windows 7 hp, sp1. When using adobe flash player, for example, in the game. Screen will fade after a few seconds of inactivity. But the pixels on are highlighted. I cannot zoom out (or in) in a Mozilla window running Adobe Flash. Ctrl+/- , Ctrl up/down and using the mousepad to zoom in or out (I have Win7), and holding Ctrl while scrolling does not work. I cannot zoom out more using Adobe Flash either.
I can change the zoom with windows with menu bars, but this one does not have one.You can apply the Ken Burns effect by clicking on "Ken Burns" rather than Fit.
If you would like the Ken Burns to be able to go beyond the boundaries of the photo so you can zoom more, choose "Allow Black".
