No sound in Flash movies [SOLVED]

Hi there.
This is the souncard: http://alsa.opensrc.org/index.php/Terra … 1_USB_MK.2
I replaced my /etc/asound.conf with the one in this wiki (Surround 5.1) since the .asoundrc is deprecated.
Now, Flash movies in Firefox(Dailymotion, Youtube) don't play any sound... It seems I have to configure something in /etc/modprobe.conf, but I don't know what exactly.

  • No sound in Flash movies

    About 2 weeks ago, I noticed that linked YouTube videos that
    I had previously watched and listened to suddenly had no sound. A
    little more investigation showed me that no flash videos had sound
    any more. I've reinstalled several times, including both OS X
    versions. I've used the uninstaller (which, by the way, does not
    delete all of the Flash files in the Library folder). I've
    reinstalled all of my browsers. No online Flash movie from any
    source has sound on any browser.
    Can anyone help?

    I just reinstalled my system with XP SP2 and found that sound
    in Macromedia Flash player (version 9) wasn’t working. I
    compared it to another machine and found out that - for some
    obscure reason - the wavemapper mapping was missing.
    I tried reinstalling other versions of the Flash player, but
    to no success … So I added the mapping myself via the
    registry.
    Go to the following sweetspot in your registry:
    My Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows
    NT\CurrentVersion\Drivers32
    Create a new String value named “wavemapper“. As
    value give it “msacm32.drv“.
    And that’s it, no restart necessary, all your Flash
    embedded videos will have sound again :)

  • Only sound on flash movies

    hi, i'm using win7 x64 and IE 10. Flash Videos on www.bluewin.ch (for example) won't work. there is only sound. in a different browser it works very well (Chrome). I tried out a lot of things to resolve this Problem: uninstall Flash -> install the newest Version / uninstall IE -> install the newest Version / disable Hardware acceleration / clean the registry manually from Flash Player reg_keys etc. / tried in an older IE Version (9.0.4) / uninstall the Flash Player with the uninstall tool... everything i tried ended with the same result -> still can't watch the Flash movies.... any other ideas to resolve this Problem? thanks!

    Could you check to see if you have the following Windows update installed?
    KB2670838 – Platform Update for Windows 7 x64
    If so, please try updating your video drivers.  If you continue to run into problems try uninstalling that KB and try again.  For what it's worth, I was able to view videos on this page with IE9 and Win 7 x64.

  • Playback of sounds from flash movie files in authorware

    Ive imported a flash movie file into authorware but the sound
    is not playing back. In flash, I created a movie that includes
    graphics and sounds. The movie plays perfectly when I open the
    flash player but it doesnt play when imported into Authorware. Ive
    tried publishing the flash file as quicktime but had a problem with
    the handler on my computer. Does anyone have any
    suggestions?

    If you click the 'Options' button on the Property panel for
    the Flash
    movie, is the 'Playback > Sound' checkbox actually checked
    in the
    resulting dialog box?
    When published as QT, what does 'had a problem with the
    handler on my
    computer' mean? Do you have QT installed on the playback
    machine? Are
    you using Insert > Media > Quicktime?

  • How stop sound on flash movie when page reloads?

    CLICK
    HERE TO VIEW THE SITE
    The problem is obvious. The flash banner has sound. Whenver
    you go to ANY page the page reloads and the sound replays.
    This template only allows you to use one header, so I cannot
    make 1 with sound and 1 without sound.
    Any ideas how I can handle this? Not sure if frames will work
    in this case. Your ideas????

    Use sharedobjects, they are kind of like cookies. You could
    do something
    similar like this sample I made here:
    http://www.smithmediafusion.com/blog/?p=212
    If the user has already seen your banner, make it go to a
    different frame
    and play somethin else OR tell the sound not to play. Make
    sense?

  • Adding sound to flash movies

    HI,
    When I tried to import music to flash animations I have created, I received error message that:
    One or more files were not imported because there were problems reading them.
    The platform: Mac
    AA audio file
    Encoded with iTunes 10.1.2, Quick Time 7.6.6
    Is it because of the audio file format that music cannot be imported?
    If so, how can i convert it to the compatible format?

    Thank you for your reply.
    How can I convert it to an MP3 file?
    Do I have to download software for that?

  • [SOLVED]No more sound in flash, but kmix shows a stream

    Hello all,
    I'm fairly new (and happy that I switched) to Arch .  When I installed Arch on my x86_64 based laptop everything worked fine.  Somewhere along the line I lost sound in flash.  I use KDE with the defaults for sound: Phonon, Pulse, and ALSA.  For my phonon backend I'm using VLC, but have also tried gstreamer.  I first realized the issue in late November and have since been wrestling with it in my spare time to no avail.  I have tried everything in the forums and wikis that I could find (even if it seemed like it didn't apply).  The one difference that I'm experiencing that no one else has posted is that I have a stream show up in kmix when a video is playing, but still have no sound.  It's not muted, and I can move the volume slider with no change.  I have no idea when exactly it broke, or what update may have caused it.  Has anyone had this issue and solved it without posting?  Can anyone offer some troubleshooting advice?  I was previously a Gentoo user of 6+ years and wonder if there  are any Arch tools similar to equery (depends and depgraph flags) that can help me find all the packages installed that are related to flash?  Also, is there anything in Arch that is similar to the Gentoo emerge log?  I would like to clean out everything flash and pulse related and start from scratch, but don't know the best way, or even a clean way, to approach this.
    Thank you in advance for any help offered.
    Regards,
    Joseph

    @alexkarro  Thanks for your quick reply and for the links.  Unfortunately, I followed the advice from both links.  I have both lib32-alsa-plugins and lib32-libcanberra-pulse installed.  From what I understand about the first link, my default device is the correct device.  But just in case I'm wrong I pasted the output from aplay and my asound.conf below.  Am I misinterpreting the output to aplay, or configuring my asound.conf wrong?    Originally, when it worked, I got all the config instructions from https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/PulseAudio.
    Thanks again.

  • Load flash movie which with sound problem

    Hi, all,
    I am doing a flash which with audio, the audio about 3-4 mins. But when i use another flash movie to load that flash mov with sound (using load movie function), cannot hear any voice. Why is it?
    The flash movie with sound is use actionscript to attach the sound, when i test the movie, it is work. When it comes to load from another movie, it doesn't work. Anyone can help me to solve it?
    Thanks.

    What version of Actionscript are you using?

  • 2 sounds in a flash movie

    hello, i have 2 sounds in a flash movie, music and narration.
    I have this script in frame 1 for narration sound:
    _root.my_sound = new Sound();
    _root.my_sound.attachSound("antedespacho");
    _root.my_sound.start();
    and i have a MC, in frame 1 of movie, and inside, in layer 1
    this script for the music:
    _root.fondo = new Sound();
    _root.fondo.attachSound("musica");
    _root.fondo.setVolume(0); -- every 5 frames i change the
    volume for make fade in ;)
    _root.fondo.start(0,99);
    I have 2 buttons in main timeline for start/stop narration,
    but when i stop the narration, the music stop. Where is the
    problem??
    This is the script of the button:
    on (release) {
    _root.donde = (_root.my_sound.position);
    _root.my_sound.stop();
    Thanks in advance.
    Sonia

    You must attach the sounds to separate movie clips. Then you
    can control them separately:
    this.createEmptyMovieClip("despacho_mc",
    this.getNextHighestDepth());
    my_sound = new Sound(despacho_mc);
    my_sound.attachSound("antedespacho");
    my_sound.start(0,1);
    this.createEmptyMovieClip("musica_mc",
    this.getNextHighestDepth());
    fondo = new Sound(musica_mc);
    fondo.attachSound("musica");
    fondo.setVolume(0);
    fondo.start(0,99);
    and here's a handy script to automate your sound fade-in:
    var tuneVol:Number = 0;
    musica_mc.onEnterFrame = function() {
    if (tuneVol>=100) {
    tuneVol = 100;
    delete this.onEnterFrame;
    } else {
    tuneVol += 10;
    fondo.setVolume(tuneVol);

    I think its a problem caused by me using PulseAudio, because this is only happening since i installed PulseAudio and got it working for all my
    other applications.
    I hope you can help me. And i allready searched for my problem but nothing helped me -.- .

    I found a few modules I was unfamilliar with were loaded:
    snd_seq_os snd_seq_dummy snd_seq_midi_event  snd_seq snd_seq_device
    ... and removed them with rmmod. No change. (I should have restarted alsa at that point I guess just to make sure, those weren't the problem?)
    Then I changed the rate in asound.conf to 41000 and restarted alsa - now everything works again! Strangely, no more freezes too (those were reliable).
    I remember having had problems with flash not having sound unless I set the rate to 41000 about a year ago. After some updates, I tried again and all rates supported by my sound-card seemed to work. My guess would be regression in whatever fixed that problem... but I don't know.

    OSS does still work or at least the alsa backwards compatibility layer that emulates the old interfaces, right? did i miss anything?
    for newer versions of flash (like version 9) simply install firefox in wine and let it install the plugin. that usually works great!

  • [solved] Sound in flash stopped working (alsa, x86_64, rate)

    Why?
    Sound in flash stopped working (alsa, firefox, x86_64). Tried flashplugin-prerelease from archlinuxfr: nothing different.
    Everything worked before I rebooted. I changed nothing else since last reboot.  Can't figure out what happened.
    Updates among other things:
    firefox, xulrunner (firefox I did restart - the new one had sound in flash before I rebooted)
    openal, lib32openal (don't think that has anything to do with it?)
    libsndfile (that's something entirely different, too, right?)
    And a lot of others that don't look related... no Idea how many really, I haven't rebooted in quite a while. Maybe there even was a kernel update since last reboot. Or two.
    edit: Also some interactive flash stuff that did work before has stopped working now.
    edit2: Chromium doesn't have sound in flash either. Tried recompiling firefox / switching to AUR/firefox-pgo: no change. Everywhere else, sound is working fine. Also, several flash games I tried get stuck / freeze after intro.
    Thx!

  • Sound in a movie clip malfunctions when play head is moved backward

    Problem summary:
    A sound (stream) placed inside a movie clip that is within another movie clip will start playing continuously when I use the play control to jump around on the main timeline.
    Details:
    I am using Flash CS3 but the same issue occurs with CS6. I've spent quite a bit time to search/research for the issue but didn't find a solution. To demonstrate the problem, I've reduced the flash movie to a very simple structure.
    One the main timeline:
    The first frame has a movie clip (Game MC) and a stop action.
    Following the first frame, there are several frames, mostly empty except some text.
    The last frame has a stop action.
    On the Game MC timeline:
    There is only one frame. On that frame, there is a movie clip (Card MC), and the stop action.
    On the Card MC timeline:
    It starts with 3 blank frames and a stop action.
    Starting at frame 4, a sound (.wav format) is placed and is set to be "stream."
    At the end of this timeline, there is a stop action.
    From Flash CS3, I press Ctrl+Enter to test the movie. The movie stops on frame 1 of the main timeline with the card showing, no sound, as expected. Now I use "." to move the play head forward one frame at a time. No problem. I see the frames after the first frame. Still no sound, as expected. So far so good.
    The problem starts when I use "," to move the play head backward, the sound in the Card MC starts to play, regardless where the play head is, even when the Game MC (thence the Card MC) is not on the stage. Worse, each press of "," will trigger another start of the same sound overlapping with the previous one. And the sound would continue in loops until I close the swf.
    However, the problem will not occur if I place the Card MC directly on the main timeline. It only occurs when it is inside another movie clip (Game MC).
    I need to solve this problem because the full version of the flash card game is to be placed in an HTML page with a javascript based play control, which allows the viewer to jump around in the swf timeline.
    The fla file is at: https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B_5mgotjr4l5RDZaOGxFeFFWN1U/edit?pli=1
    Am I doing something wrong? Is this a bug in Flash? Any insight will be greatly appreciated.
    Keith

    Thanks. But the problem is that the timeline for the movie clip (Card MC) where the sound is should not have been run because the play head is not on the frame where the Game MC is at (Game MC contains Card MC.) I also put trace actions on various frames on that timeline (for Card MC) and none was invoked. I have also tried to set the sound to "event" or "start". It made no difference.

    Hello.
    So, about 3 month ago or later, adobe had announced the new version of ADOBE FLASH PLAYER, i think it was 10.1. When i updated my flash player to version 10.1, my sound in my browser (im using MOZILLA FIREFOX) had gone. I cant hear any sound in youtube, i cant hear any sound in flash games, but video goes normal. I have searching reason for a long time. I have found many sollutions, and i have tryed all of them on my pc. Im a power user in computer, im not a begginer, but i cant solve this problem. Now i got Windows XP, SP3, and installed adobe flash player of version 10.1.82.76. Maybe some one can help me???

    Hi eidnolb,
    You are certainly right about resolving audio issues.
    Actually you pointed me in the right direction when you told NoviceGG to go to administrative tools.  While in the control panel I decided to check out QT first.  I am not a big fan of QT and rarely use it but others in my house like to use iTunes for their iPods and QT comes bundled in the download.  At any rate, iTunes was updated and along with it came an update for QT.  I think someone downloaded an .flv file and when they played it with QT it set the streaming video default to QT.  At least that is what I believe happened, although I am not 100% certain.  I don't think QT was automatically set as the default streaming video player when it was downloaded but that is a possibility also.
    I had no audio for any streaming video in any browser, FF, Chrome, and IE.  Video was fine in all three.
    Somehow QT gets it's own Control Panel category.  Which is actually only QT preferences.  Seven tabs across the top: Register; Audio; Browser; Update; Streaming; File Types; Advanced.
    The first tab I clicked was the Audio tab.  But that is more of a device manager and you can select bit rate, channels, and size (8 bit, 16 bit, or 24 bit).  I realized that wasn't it then went to the Streaming tab and that deals with connection speeds, delays, and an instant-on option.  Not it either.  So I hit the File types tab and it reads; 'Select the file types for which you want QuickTime player to be the
    default player.'  Top box; Streaming-Streaming movies was checked.  These are expandable boxes (with the + to show more specific file types).  Seven expandable boxes to check or uncheck:
    Streaming-Streaming movies;
    Video-Video only and video with audio file formats;
    Audio-Audio only file formats;
    MPEG-MPEG system, video and audiofiles;
    MP3-MPEG Layer III movies and streams;
    Images-Simage files
    Miscellaneous-Miscellaneous file formats
    I unchecked the top box the tested it and that was it.  I thank you very much for pointing to the control panel.  You are a very helpful member of the forum.
    I actually just now joined so I could share my discovery with NoviceGG.
    I hope this helps you out with your knowledge base a little eidnolb.
    Thanks again!
