No Sound in Flash Player 10

My audio is working fine in programs such as Itunes and windows media player but out of nowhere websites such as Youtube and Veoh which use flash no longer have sound. I have been looking for a solution on and off for about 6 hours now. I have tried the most common posted soltuion such as adding wavemapper in the registry yet it was already there.
My current version of flash is: You have version 10,0,22,87 installed
I have all the latest updates. And I have tried to re-install numerous time this issue is occuring within all my browers (Safari, IE, Firefox).
Thanks for anyone who may read this wheter or now you have a solution.

I have the same problem - same version, wavemapper fine, reinstall of player no good, broken in both browsers.  In case it helps I'm on Vista Enterprise SP1.  Please help!
Oh yeah, and my laptop is about a week old.

VLC plugs directly into pulseaudio, while the firefox flash plugin uses ALSA to play sound.  Do you have the pulseaudio-alsa package installed?
I have had a similar problem before.  Sound would occasionally be controlled by ALSA and occasionally be controlled by pulse (the pulseaudio-alsa package did nothing).  As far as symptoms, sometimes other applications would not produce sound while a flash video was playing and vice versa.  Ultimately, I just removed everything pulse/ALSA-related, deleted (and backed up) my configuration files, and installed all related packages anew.  It works now.  I still don't really know what the problem was.

  • No sound with Flash Player under OSS in Linux

Flash 9 & Flash10 under OSS 4.1 with Opera or Firefox.
No sound at all on any flash using website. Websites such as
the BBC that have some content in RealAudio or Windows Media
formats work absolutely fine for non-Adobe content but Flash player
    content produces no sound.
All other audio software works flawlessly - Skype, Real
Player, Mplayer, Kaffeine, Wine, Games (ETQW, Doom3 etc), Helix,
    RhythmBox, Rosegarden.
Whatever the fault is, it's an Adobe fault - fix it.

Ditto with me. No sound with Flash Player in both IE and
Firefox. Sound works with other applications.

  • No sound with Flash Player (on line only) on Vista

No sound with Flash Player on both IE and Firefox online
    only, on Vista.
On local hard disk, all is OK.
The firefox "about:cache" command on the mp3 file info says :
Data size: 0 and in IE it's the same
    Thanks

Ditto with me. No sound with Flash Player in both IE and

  • Sound from Flash Player when not in use.

After installing Google Chrome with Adobe Flash Player, sound on Flash Player (not sure of the source) bleeds thru when Flash Player is not in use. Problem goes away when Flash Player is uninstalled and returnes when Flash Player is re installed. Windows 7 OS on a Dell XPS 17.

    Hi Chris,
Thank you for your reply. The sound I get is difficult to explain. The
content seems to be some kind of commercial or talk show. one sound track
is on ADD. It appears independent of the tabs open including none open. As
I mentioned in my first post this condition is dependant on if Adobe Flash
Player is installed on the computer. As a side note, when the Adobe
Flash Player is uninsulated I continually get a box requesting to reinstall
the program. When I do, the problem returns.
    Thanks

  • Problems with Sound in Flash Player 10

    Hi
would anyone have any idea why the sound in a flash movie
would play in Flash Player 9 but not Flash Player 10?

I am not sure of the sampling rate.. I was thinking that that
could be the problem after I read this
    http://www.flashden.net/forums/thread/flash-player-10-audio-bug/7727?page=1
    but then I read this
    http://bugs.adobe.com/jira/browse/FP-862
So the sampling bug has been fixed and I have the most up to
    date Flash Player (WIN 10,0,22,87)
Do you still think the sampling rate could be the
    problem?

  • YouTube videos without sound - Corrupt flash player? Help?

Hi everyone, I have a bit of a problem. I went on to YouTube this morning, trying to watch a video. Unfortunately, the video failed, and it wouldn't play. All I got was the ad in the very first frame, yet the video thought it was playing. I looked online, and it said that my flash player was corrupt. So I went and I installed flash player on my laptop again. I tried to play the video again, and it played. Unfortunately, there was no sound. I went through about five extremely unhelpful troubleshooting pages shared between Adobe and YouTube, and got no results. Pretty much, Google has kept saying it's my Adobe, and Adobe has kept saying that everything is fine with flash player. Could anyone help me? This is very frustrating.
                   System: Windows 8 64 bit.
Adobe flash player: 32 bit installation.
                        Browser: Google Chrome.

  • Still no sound in Flash Player 11.7.202, I surrender

I have been dealing with no sounds & videos freezing for a month.  I have Windows Vista 32 bit Internet Explorer.  I have uninstalled & reinstalled, followed all the FAQ suggestions, cleared cache, etc.  Flash Player 11.7.202 was a required update for my online language class.  My computer would crash when connecting with meeting & sound would disappear.  Sometimes sound would come back the next day.  This time it has been gone for over a week.  The class website was shut down due to problems with Adobe Connect. I can finally watch videos on PBS website without freezing but no sound.  I surrender.  I submitted a bug report. Good luck everyone.

Thanks for your reply. I tried to connect again after the crash but it crashed again.  After that restart I had video that didn't freeze and sound.  That lasted until I shut down.  Today no sound.  I know in my class others have talked about the no sound problem.   It is a Cherokee language class & most of us are senior citizens so we're not tech savvy.  There are 4 different classes (www.cherokee.org/onlinelanguageclass). The sessions are archived. I can get into the archive & have the video but no sound.  This is the troubleshooter at the Cherokee Nation that I contact [email protected] Wado (that's Cherokee for thanks a lot).

  • No Sound in Flash Player under only one User Account

Hi I searched the forums and could not find the answer to this.
I have a Freshly Installed Windows 7 Ultimate (64 bit) version with the latest Flash Player (10.1).
The browser doesn't matter, both Firefox and IE have the same behavior.
No sound comes from flash at all under the admin account. Under other user accounts, the sound is fine.
The sound WAS working fine until one time it said that Flash Player had crashed. I uninstalled, rebooted, re-installed with no luck.
So I'm either gonna just make another user account... or just wipe the computer and start over unless anyone has any ideas.
    -Marc

Thanks. Well vs 3.6.8 is the latest FF. There is no Flash Player at all for any 64bit system. You must use the 32bit browser when Uninstalling/Installing and viewing Flash Content.
For that to happen so suddenly sounds like some update of a program, Windows update, an Anti-Virus update had taken place. Any new program Installed or Uninstalled? Anything you can think of prior to that happening? It just sounds like a major conflict.
You may want to take a look at your Flash files, perhaps some Flash file didn't get Installed properly.
Go to C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash  Open Flash and post back the files listed there. The NPSWF file(s) need a right click and then click on Properties to obtain the version number(s)
Also go to Tools, manage add ons with IE and find Shockwave Flash Object..ActiveX Control..Flash10h.ocx and make sure it is Enabled.
Using FF find the SWF vs 10.1.53.64 plug-in and make sure it is Enabled.
Perhaps when FP crashed it caused something to change in both of the add ons.
I had that happen to me a few months ago; Uninstalled an Anti-Virus/Installed a new version. Then couldn't see images on a website, and went to an Adobe website to check something and it told me I needed Flash Player to view it!!! Imagine my surprise:-) So that was the problem.
    Thanks,

  • No Sound with Flash Player 10

    Hi,
I started having this problem last week.  A lot of sites with embedded video players play without sound for me (youtube, etc.).  This doesn't happen every time and I've found that it happens most often when I set the video to play in HD(720).  Sometimes I'll hear sharp sreeches or cherps instead of sound. Sometimes, after waiting 5 mins and trying to play the video over and over, it will suddenly start working.
I'm running in Winodows XP s.p. 3  32 bit and my broswer is firefox, though I don't believe it works in chrome either.
    What I've tried:
    Reinstalling firefox
    Reinstalling flash player 10
Changing my speakers settings to 2/2.1 speakers.
    Installing flash player 9
I've had the most success unintalling flash player 10 and installing flash player 9.  All my sound issues are fixed!  However, now I cannot play video at all on some sites, because they require flash player 10!
I'll looked on the internet, but noone seems to know how to fix this, please help.

I did the ten step codec cleaning, I think you posted that originally if not
I'll dig up the link, sorry I'm at work.  After that I ran malwarebytes (no
malware), then I accessed the audio properties under the control panel and
monkeyed with them, they'd been changed to modem#0 from my normal semantec
harware.  I changed that and rebooted and everything was seemingly okay.
However, the little speaker icon had disappeared from the tray about the
same time my audio problems had started and has never returned so there may
    be deeper issues.
    Here<http://www.codecguide.com/fix_for_flash_sound_problems.htm> is
the codec link I was referring to.  Hope this helps.  D

  • No Sound with Flash Player 9 on ubuntu 7.10

I hear no sound when I play back flash clips on my ubuntu 32
bit 7.10, using Flash Player 9.0 r48. I downgraded to version 7 and
had sound, only to find that the 7 version has a known bug where
audio/video get unsynchronized after some time. Now I am back using
current 9.0 r48, and have no sound at all.
    Any hint?

Thanks for your responses twiistedkaos & mouse256.  I launched firefox from the command line, but no error messages were received when viewing flash content.  Also, I do not have additional flash support installed (only the latest flash plugin from the extra repository).
I am loading modules snd_emu10k1 and snd_pcm_oss in rc.conf.  If I remove (do not load) snd_emu10k1, then I get sound from flash, but no sound from media or games.  When I load snd_emu10k1, then I have sound in media and games, but no sound from flash.
This has turned out to be an alsa configuration issue.  My flash 9 sound is fine now.

  • No sound with flash Player

My sound stopped working for my flash player for my browser.
It was working one day, and now NO sound for any flash items I view
on the net. I can't hear anything with Youtube, or any flash site.
what would cause this to happen?

Yes, a very FRUSTRATING problem!! After months and months,
and trying everything I could find in the forums, I discovered that
my Audio default device (go to Control Panel, Sounds and Audio
Devices, Audio tab - Sound Playback default device) had somehow
gotten set to some Modem such-and-such... instead of my
Soundblaster. I changed it back to the Soundblaster and OUALA - I
have Sound again!!! Now when I go into the control panel, that
modem doesn't even show up as a choice for the default device. Not
sure how it got in there in the first place, but I'm so thankful
    that it's fixed.
Lots of helpful solutions here too:
