No sound in mulit camera edit. CS3 premeire pro

Followed instructions exactly on tutorial disc for syncronizing clips.
I have 2 .avi clips with the sound dis-abled and a .wav file with the sound enabled.
All three clips have been syncronized and multi cam edit has been enabled.
In multi camera edit window: When playing there is NO SOUND.
My OS is Windows XPpro
I am using CS3 production premium.
Why is there NO SOUND?
Thanks, Scott

Hurray!
I unlinked Video/audio 1 and deleted the audio track 1.
I then moved the .wav file in Audio 3 into the now vaccant audio track 1. Making sure to have the audio selected for that track.
IT WORKED. IT WORKS. I NOW HAVE AUDIO IN MY MULTI CAM EDIT WINDOW. The audio ( .wav file ) that I want to use.
Thanks for jarring my brain in the right direction. I can now FINALLY finish the wedding video.
They will be so so happy to finally receive it.
Thanks so much Stan.

Subject: No sound in mulit camera edit. CS3 premeire pro
I hear you, but I don't see how that work flow could have ever worked in CS3 (or other versions - I'm still CS3) unless the .wav is in Audio 1.
In addition to my suggestion above, I suppose you could put the wav in track 1 with no video in v1; and put the cams in v2 and 3.  Keep the audio set to NOT follow cams, and then select between cam 2 and cam 3 for the video.  It won't matter whether you mute tracks 2 and 3; you won't hear them anyway.  You should hear only track 1 audio.
Here's the CS3 help file:
http://livedocs.adobe.com/en_US/PremierePro/3.0/index.html
Now I may have to take back what I said.  I see that the help file says that if you select DO NOT follow cam for audio, it will use the audio in the selected track.  So perhaps you used to select that track (I assume audio 3) and do not have it selected now (in the multicam source sequence).

  • No audio in mulit-camera editing

    PLEASE can somebody help me?
I keep losing sound in CS4 multicam editing in two ways:
    1) This has only happened once, I sync all my video/audio in a sequence, start a new 'multicam' sequence, sound works fine but as soon as I click Clip/multi-camera/enable the sound disappears. I HAVE CHECKED that the correct audio stream is selected in my original timeline however the sound wont play?! But if I Un-enable the multicam, the sound comes back
    2) This happens a lot. As I'm editing in multi-camera editing after a while and a number of cuts/edits, the sound just stops at that edit onwards. So for instance I'm editing a 10 min piece with 20 plus cuts from one camera to another then at a certain point I make a cut to a camera and the sound stops from that point on.
Pleae can someone help, I cannot find any answers anywhere online.
    Thanks
    G

I too am having the sound problem. The audio just disappears after making several camera switching edits. If you hit "undo" the sound will come back at that point but if you once again try to make a camera switch, the sound will be gone again at that edit point forward. It doesn't matter which camera you select after that...the audio will be gone. This has happened to me on two projects. What I did to work around it was to place the same multicamera sequence on the timeline again following the point where the sound disappears. I then edit the added sequence so that it starts at the point where I lost the sound. You can now edit this sequence and select among cameras and the sound will stay. But this time consuming and I shouldn't have to do this. Is it related to the number of camera edits that you put in a sequence?

  • Help with multi camera editing in Premiere Pro

Ok I'm new...so bear with me.
I am editing a basic interview shot on two cameras and cutting away to some still images.
The rushes are 4 lots of film about 10 mins in length.
I inputted the footage from the two cameras and created a new sequence for each using the multi camera audio synchronisation method (which worked great).
So how do I go about creating my edit? Something tells me I'm going about it in the wrong way.
Do I need to create my edit using single camera shots and then create multi camera sequences for each individual clip? It seems so laborious as its all already synced up for two cameras.
I am a bit confused about creating clips v creating sequences.
I'm sorry if this is making some of you cringe :/ ....but I really can't find any help in online tutorials.
I need basic step by step instruction.

humm, sounds like your 4 lots do not overlap in time, and that there is space between each lot. So would that be 4 multi-camera sequences with the two cameras?
If so, why even multicamera edit that? and just set up to Video tracks, sync the audio and opacity keyframe between the two tracks.
Good to get your multi-camera edit workflow going proper though.
Sounds like you need to multi-camera edit your 4 sequences separately, unless you sync each lot with its corresponding clip and put on the same timeline, then do one sequence and one multi-camera edit

  • Need help with Multi-cam editing in Premiere Pro CC/7.0

I've been using 6.0 for a while now, and had to install 7.0/cc, but now I can't find where to record multi-cam edits.  I've already lined up my clips and created a new sequence and enabled multi-cam, I just don't see the Multi-Cam Editor.  Please help!

    Hey!
I found the record-button in the programm panel. But now it won't let me hit record. The button is disabled (see screenshot).
What can I do about it?
If I just hit play and then change the angles in the source window, Premiere won't record those edits. Only thing it does is it keeps the whole clip in this one angle.

  • I can't edit sound during multi-camera editing

    Hi!
When I work with multi-camera I can't cut audio. Only video. You can see it in picture. I can't find any settings to fix it. What should I do? Premiere Pro

Had the same problem: Couldn't edit main audio in a multi camera timeline, razor tool does not work and audio transitions cannot be added.
    To solve the problem:
Go to the affected audio track and click on the 'show keyframes' button for that track. Make sure 'clip keyframes' is selected. The track should now become accessible to be cut and add transitions. You cannot alter the track if one of the other options is selected. For example I had Track Keyframes > Volume selected. Your volume markers will still be there and you can jump back and forth at your leisure.

  • Color correct after multi cam edit

    Hi Y'all,
I've just completed my mulit cam edit from a 2 cam shoot. I now want to drop a color corrector filter
on just camera 1. Is there a way to drop the filter onto one clip and have it apply to the rest of the clips
or do I have to highlight each clip from camera 1 and then paste attributes?
    THANKS!

The only way I could think of would be to duplicate the full clip on the finder level, color correct the entire clip and export it with current settings and then reconnect all the clips from that reel to the exported qt.  Multiclips can get a little quirky so I'd probably collapse all my multiclipls first.  If you moved your original clip at the finder level (with fcp closed) and replace it in it's original location with the new file and rename the new file to match the old name exactly, fcp should reconnect automatically.
Maybe there's a faster way to do this.  Generally I move each angle to it's own video track and then use the t key to select everything in that track and apply the correction.

  • HOW CAN I DO MULTI CAM EDITING, OR MULTI CLIP EDITING

I want to know how i could do mulit cam editing or multiclip editing with final cut express.

Here's how I did it a few times:
    1. Add video tracks (and audio tracks if needed) to your timeline to equal the number of cameras you have. Of course if you have more than 4 this will start to get impractical.
    2. Edit in your clips from your different camera angles, one to each video track.
    3. Double click each clip in turn to get it into the viewer and click the Motion tab. Change its scale to 50%.
    4. Select each clip in turn in the timeline and move it to one corner of the canvas. You need to have "image + wireframe" selected in the Canvas popup menu in order to move it with the mouse.
You should now have up to 4 different camera angles shown at the same time in the Canvas, each in its own quadrant.
    5. Now the hard part is to align each clip according to time. Hopefully you have some sort of visual cue you can use to align the clips.
    6. Then play through the timeline and use the razor tool to cut the clips where you want a camera angle change.
    7. Select each camera angle piece you want from each cut you made and change its scale back to 100% and center it at 0,0. Delete the unused clips.
    8. If you want, you can move all the clips that remain back to v1 so that you can use transitions between them.
What to do with all the various audio is another question. I usually use the audio from the best source all the way through, only changing to the other camera angle's audio when necessary.

  • Insert source clip after multi-cam editing, how?

    hello
I created a sequence using multiple clips and did all my colour corrections. Then I created a new sequence by dragging on new items, sequence is now green. Enabled Mulit-cam editing and started the process.
After i finished, I noticed two clips have blown highlights. Looking at original source I accidentally add two levels. I tried deleting the blown highlight clips and replace them with the original, this did not work too well.
Is there a method I can insert clips after multi-cam editing?
I hope all this makes senses.

Here's how I did it a few times:

  • Multi Cam editing stalling before cam change

    Vista x64
    8Gig RAM
    Dell T3400 Workstation
    Core2Duo 2.6Mhz
I'm trying to finish a project, doing a 3 camera multicam edit.   When I select (for example) cam1, then cam3, there is about a 1-2 second delay before the 'change' is shown (highlighted box changes from cam1 to cam3).   This just started .. before camera changes have been instant.
Anyone ever have this problem before?  Any ideas?  I've rebooted thinking something got hosed, but it is still delaying changing the selected camera.
    TIA,
    jd

Obviously, it's far from conclusive, but this certainly smacks of a software issue and not something to do with hardware. Wish I had a solution, but "hope/wait/deal with it" seems to be the only course of action for now
I will offer up one suggestion that seemed to have some positive effect, and that's getting rid of the audio portion of your sync sequence when you nest it in your edit sequence. Let me explain a little more:
I create my original sync sequence that holds all my various angles, and I call it "MC_SYNC"... no relation to MC Hammer. I trim the heads and tails of each angle so that clips all begin at one time point, and end at another time point--you'll see why this is important later, beyond the fact that it just makes things neat and tidy. Per the multicam procedure in PPro, this sequence is nested into a fresh, empty sequence which is dubbed "MC_EDIT". Now, what PPro will usually do is render/conform the audio portion of the nested sequence, though in my recent multicam edits, sometimes this did not happen right away. This can be a rather large, ungainly file and might be thrown hither, thither and yon depending on the media cache settings. Most of the time, I never use the "multicam mixed" audio track because I do my own mix in a new sequence (or in an external application) before finalizing the sequence. So what I do now is immediately delete the audio portion of the nested sequence (ie. MC_SYNC once it's placed inside of MC_EDIT) and replace that with a good, clean, workable track from one of my camera angles.
To do this, I go back to MC_SYNC and find the camera angle that has the best sound from which to edit. I Alt+click the audio track I want and copy it (you can also use Match Frame to load the source clip into the source monitor, if you want), and then switch back to MC_EDIT where I paste it into the sequence with the CTI placed at the beginning of the sequence. This is why I trim up everything in MC_SYNC before nesting: so that there is no chance of having the pasted audio out of sync with the multicam video clip. Now, the program will be referencing a single source file for audio in your multicam edit, which has seemed to me to have a positive impact on the editing experience.
Give that a shot, and see if it works for you.

  • Audio targeting in Multi Camera edits Premiere 5.5

I am editing 6 days worth of a 3 camera multi camera set up from a seminar I shot last month. I am using Premiere Pro 5.5.
I shot the class with the speaker mic'ed with 2 wireless lapel mics: one mic going into Cam 3 left channel, and one going into Cam 2 right channel; the open channel on both catching ambient audio via camera mics. The thought here was I would have some redundancy in the event one mic popped out due to battery issues, or interference, and still have an audio channel to sync to with PluralEyes.
Camera 1 was a wide shot of the front of room, and had 4 choir mics directed at the audience (to pick up questions and such) and one shotgun focusing on the front where the speaker stood (again, for redundancy) running into a mixer, and then into Cam 1 right and left channels.
In Premiere, I line up all the video shots with PluralEyes (or manually) and then nest that sequence into a new multi cam sequence and begin editing.
When nesting the video and audio into a new sequence and turning multicamera editing on, I get the one track of nested video, and the one track of audio.
My issue is how to get the cleaner audio of the instructor, which is on either CAM 2 or 3 (with the lapel mics), onto the track of CAM 1, which is the only track I am able to hear when doing multi cam edits. If I simply copy the instructor audio onto track 1 in the 'source' sequence,  I lose the audience replies and sound. But I don't know how to mix other channels onto the main track of the parent sequence (source).
I have worked around this by copying the audio from track 2 or 3 onto track 1 in the original (not nested) sequence and that has worked and I could keep on editing. But now, I need to do a group discussion portion, and need the audio from track 1 as well as the others and I am not sure how to mix them into the main audio track that the multicam process requires.
I hope I am clear in my explanation. In essence, how do you get a mix of tracks to show up onto track 1, the only audio track that seems to be able to be read by the multicam feature in Premiere 5.5?
    Many thanks!!
    Mark

Since I didn't want to ask a stupid question, I have been trying to do what
you suggested below, but I am not meeting with success (which means I am
    doing it wrong :o)
I have made my edits in the multi Camera sequence I created and used the
Multi Cam "enabled" setting (labeled this sequence "Multi"), and then
placed the original multiple camera and tracks sequence (labeled
'source' which was first lined up and synced) into the video 2 track in the
    multi cam sequence.
So now I have 2 tracks of the original "Source" sequence in the "multi"
sequence: one cut into shots and one uncut from the original sequence.
But, only the audio is coming in from the first track, even though the
tracks are all activated in the original sequence (nothing muted).
I know I am close, but not sure what I am doing wrong, and the audio from
the tracks is important for the final product.
    Thanks again!

  • Multi-cam edit issues with multiple DSLR clips

    Hello,
Working in CC. I have 2 camera angles that were filmed with 2 DSLRs, and mic'd audio that was recorded into a Zoom H4N. Audio recording never stopped, but due to the nature of DSLRs, the 2 cameras would stop recording every 12 +/- minutes. In this end, I have:
    Camera 1 - 16 clips
    Camera 2 - 17 clips
    Zoom H4N - 1 track
When using the multi-cam source sequence option, it understandably thinks each clip is a new camera/angle. However, that's not very helpful for me when I have 17 angles (15 of which are blank) showing up in the program monitor. Any suggestions on how to better tackle this dilemma?
    Thank You.

Thanks, Mark. Appreciate the quick response. After messing around, I combined your method with PluralEyes (seemed less tedious that syncing 17 clips manually). There might be a faster/easier way, but this is what I did, in case any one is curious (sounds more tedious than it actual is):
    1. Select cam 1 clip 1, cam 2 clip 1 and external audio in the Browser.
    2. Left-click, "create Multi-Camera Source Sequence." Two angles and audio are now in a multi-cam sequence. Rename as Multicam_Source_Sequence
    3. Create new sequence, called Sequence_01 and open in timeline.
    3. Excluding cam 1 clip 1 and cam 2 clip 1, drag all remaining clips of cam 1 to V1, all remaining cam 2 clips to V2, and single external audio to A3 into Sequence_01 timeline.
    4. Launch Sequence_01 into PluralEyes 3. Sync and Export.
    5. Open PluralEyes' "Sequence_01_synced" (not "Sequence_01_synced Replaced") in timeline.
    6. Find a good marker point toward the beginning of the audio where it has synced cam 1 clip 2 and cam 2 clip 2. Cut at that point.
    7. Copy all video tracks (exclude audio tracks).
    8. Find Multicam_Source_Sequence and open in timeline (un-nested, so that all tracks are revealed).
    9. Manually find the same audio marker point where you cut in Sequence_01_synced. Place playhead directly at cut point.
    10. Paste video clips. All tracks are now synced in a multi-cam sequence.
From here, it's the usual steps for preparing multi-cam editing, like you mentioned.
    11. Create new sequence, called Multicam_Working_Sequence. Open in timeline.
    12. Make sure nesting button is turned on in timeline.
    13. Drag Multicam_Source_Sequence into Multicam_Working_Sequence.
    14. Right-click the nested sequence>Multi-Camera>Enable.
    15. Enable Multi-camera view in Program Monitor's panel menu.
Voila! Took me awhile, but this works. And no 17 angles popping up in the program monitor. Let me know if you'd add (or remove) anything. Thanks, again!

  • Trying to work with sound from 2 cameras in multicam mode

I recorded a wedding service with 2 cameras simultaneously from 2 angles. I captured the footage from both cameras and I would now like to use portions of the sound on camera 1 at some points and portions of camera 2 sound at other times. When I go into multi camera edit mode all the sound from both cameras is combined onto one sound track. I now do not have the option to mix between the 2 sound tracts. If I use the audio mixer before I cut the 2 cameras together, I loose that audio mix when when I go into multicamera mode because not only is the audio combined but it has been put into a new sequence and is in a different spot on the timeline. What can I do to solve this problem?
