No sound no ring no volumen working
I need helppppppp please, i cant hear anyting on my iPhone I was listening music on iTunes and sudanly it stop and now it does not have ring the volumen is not working
Did you check the "MUTE" switch next to the volume controller on the left side?
If that's not it, try unplugging and replugging your headphones a few times.

It appears like you may have a hardware issue with your ringer button and internal speaker that came to light after the update. If you have already restored your iPhone back to factory settings using iTunes, you may need to have your phone serviced.
Some potential good news... Check your headphone jack for lint. There may be enough to cause a muffled connection. You can try to blow it out with compressed air or very carefully pulling out any solid objects that may affect the connection.

All my sounds have stpped working. Only ringer sound works. When I send video file to someone, they can ear sound. I cant hear it. I have iphone 4s... please help
Just had this occure as you described: ringer only all other sounds mute. The second time this has happened. A simple reboot (turn off and on) restored normal functionality. the first time I read some post but don't remember how I restored it then so I am back here again. Seems like the problem and fix is different for different people, but this time for me a reboot did it.

The sounds are working on my i phone but the ringer will not work...it will only vibrate. I have the volume set at high.
Basic troubleshooting steps clearly outlined in the User Guide are restart, reset, restore from backup, restore as new device.
Have you tried ALL the troubleshooting steps? If you have and you're still having problems, then you'll need to bring your phone into Apple for evaluation and possible exchange. -

Is the mute button on the side of the phone switched on?
Also go to settings, scroll to the bottom and ensure that "Keyboard Clicks" is set to on. Make sure that the "Ringer and Alerts" volume is not set at zero in this menu. -

Hello, the volume of my microphone button in text messages is inaudible when pressed, even when my overall volume is on high and all other sounds/ringer/alerts volume are working fine! Is there a way to fix this? Was working fine yesterday. I've tried rebooting and turning Siri on and off, and can't think of what else to do. All googling results in posts about the mic not recording sound loud enough or not working. My mic works just fine; it does the job of recording, but I want the chime to be loud so I don't have to look at the screen to know when I can speak; I like to hear the chime to alert me. Any help is appreciated!

FWIW, my daughter (who also wears hearing aids) has trouble hearing her iphone. It appears to have more to do with the speaker not being lined up with the hearing aid's input. Her audiologist pointed out that some current hearing aids support bluetooth, I think we will get those next time we replace her hearing aids. -
My iPhone 5 stopped ringing. Changing the button on the side doesn't do anything anymore . Also I have no sound on my apps. When I test a ring tone it works, but when I have an incoming call Nothing happens. Can anyone help?
Thx, apple master and stedman but tried all of it and still doesn't ring . I have sound on my videos and YouTube tho. Very strange.

Unfortunately the ringer does not work - which causes the speaker to not work when it's switched on to ring mode, unless I'm on bluetooth. It has recently stopped working and I've had this phone for 2 years. -
Iphone 6. 64 gb. Versión is 8.0(12A366). Ringer does not work. Basically not getting any sound for incoming calls. Also no sound for any notifications or alerts. Have tried to reset the phone but still no sound for ringer or notifications.
Check the mute switch on the side of the device.

TURN ON THE RINGING ON / OFF BUTTON ON THE SIDE OF YOUR PHONE JUST ABOVE THE VOLUME BUTTONS. THEN MAKE SURE THE VOLUME IS UP TO THE HIGHEST. NOW JUST TRY THIS!

iPhone comes with ringtones that sound for incoming calls, Clock alarms, and the Clock timer.
You can also purchase ringtones from songs in iTunes. See Chapter 22, iTunes Store, on page 94.
Set the default ringtone: Go to Settings > Sounds > Ringtone.
Turn the ringer on or off: Flip the switch on the side of iPhone.
Important: Clock alarms still sound even if you set the Ring/Silent switch to silent.
Turn vibrate on or off: Go to Settings > Sounds.
Assign a different ringtone for a contact: In Contacts, choose a contact, tap edit, then tap
Ringtone and choose a ringtone.

THE REASON MY PHONE HAD NO RING TONE, WAS SIMPLY BECAUSE THE VOLUME WAS TURNED DOWN. :-/

My iphone 4 ringer does not work! My phone does not ring when there is an incoming call. The mute button on the side is on ringer mode. All other types of audio works just fine like the alarm and music and game sounds. every thing works except the ringer. I've checked all of the ringer settings and it still doesnt work. Plus i think my vibrate broke around the same time as the ringer too so now im missing everything like calls, texts, and emails. Is this a hardware problem and is there a way i can get it fixed??
I had the same problem, so I asked Siri why it doesn't ring. She brought up search contents for the issue, and the first explanation solved the problem.
I had inadvertently shut off the "sounds" switch on the upper left side of my iphone (when off, the switch shows an orange-red color).
When I fliiped this switch to "on", and tested the phone w/ a phone call from my home phone, the ringer tone was heard loud & hear.
Easy fix, thankfully! -

I have no sound when ringing, alarm, txt'ing etc. Help required please.1: If you installed some apps recently, disable them, because they may not work properly on your iphone.
2: There is a slight possibility that your iPhone’s headphone jack may have got some dust or rust which is causing the phone to think that the headphones are still plugged in when they actually aren’t. Try blowing out air in the headphone jack or try plugging the headphones in and out repeatedly. This trick may solve the no sound problem.
3: Try Resetting the iPhone: Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings. This will reset your phone’s setting to factory defaults. Your contacts, calendars photos and any other data will stay intact.

Sighhhh, wasted so much time yesterday and today going around Sony centre and then carphone warehouse. They told me to come back after Easter.
I came home, banged the phone against the wall and it worked.
Turned out that mic was working on loud speaker and when using headphones so I thought that the secondary mic is working and the main one (placed with the speakers) isn't. So I banged that part against the wall slightly (in plastic case to prevent scratches) then put the phone underwater, waited for it to dry and now it's working. Idk how well and if it's of perfect quality again but people can hear me well.
