No Sound on 925x Nweo Pla

Hi,
I installed my new Neo Platinum 925x with a 3.4GHz processor. Everything seemed fined. Now I hooked up the speakers for the 1st time and found that I can't get any sound. The drivers seem to installed fine. WinXP Device manager does not show any errors. DigiCell does not highlight the the "Audio Speaker Settings" option.
Control Panel shows a "CMI Audio COnfig" icon but nothing happens when clicking it.
I also installed the drivers using LiveUpdate.
Why don't I get any sound. No application does find a "sound device"
They all complain the "sound device" is missing.
Appreciate any help
regards
Uso

I just uninstalled the driver and reinstalled.
Then everything worked fine.

• No sound on windows Media Pla

Hi,
I have the Sound Blaster Audigy 4 card and have recently installed vista.At first I had no sound at all then I installed the beta2 drivers. This restored sound albeit to a very basic level.At first I could play music via windows media player and media centre but then suddenly this stopped. It looks like it is playing but I get no sound. The only way I can listen to music now is via Winamp.Has this happened to anyone else and if so have you resolved it and how? Any suggestions?
Cheers guys.

Hi,

I haven't had or saved any restore points so not sure what to do.
No joy on winamp. Like i said media centre works fine when i want to watch files from hard drive but no sound on tv tuner even though i get a picture.
I've tried changing sound speaker settings but stil doesnt work.
Any other ideas?

• Use SB Live External to play sound from DVD pla

I have tried to connect a cable from my DVD player, phono connection I think it is called, and to a SB Li've External card with a minijack to the "line in".
But I get no sound, have tried options and so on, without any result.

Does anybody have any idea?

• When testing the microphone with Skype, the pla back sounds garbled.

Problem with microphone testing Skype.  When testing the sound and play back it sounds garbled.

Hello,
Thanks for your post!
What computer model do you have? Are you using the internal MIC or any external one? Have you checked the volume of that mic and try to decrease it? Also low down the volume from your speakers or from your default playback device.
What operating system do you have?
Please provide this additional information to understand more your setup and if the cause of it is settings related.
By the way, did it worked before? If its the first time, you can also try to update the sound driver or even remove it from device manager and having the device detected again, maybe in that way it will resolve the problem.
Thanks,

• Using Sound Blaster Live! 5.1 as a decoder for an external DVD-pla

Can the Sound Blaster Li've! 5. soundcard be used as a dolby digital decoder for an external DVD-player? The way I was thinking to do this is to use an RCA to 3.5 mm audiocord from the DVD-player and plug it into the soundcards line-in. Will it decode the dolby digital signal and pass it to the speakers?

the line in (2.0 channel) can never decode a dobly digital signal you need an coaxical or optical cable to pass it trouch the soundcard and listen with you speakers, and btw and audigy li've 5. cant support digital input you need a newer soundcard like a audigy 2, 4 or xfi with the external dri've bay

• No sound from DVD pla

Does anybody have the cure for this problem: - Since installing SOUNDBLASTER EXTERNAL sound card I can no longer hear the sound track from my DVD player

Interisting case, it must be a compatibility issue.
Test it with other DVD movies, run it with different software, i.e QuickPlay, Windows Media Player, VLC etc.

• 5.1 sound great demo using Windows Media Pla

Here is a fast URL for a .wma file that will really works your sound card in 5.. I have an Audigy 2 card that has been working well for me. I added a GigaWorks S700 speaker system to use as a portable surround demo for movie sound. I am impressed with how well this works.
The URL below will download a cut from a DVD I'm making that features trains. The ends are not feathered because I do not know the timing of the album yet.

Email me for details on this recording. [email protected]][email protected] It was made here in the Mojave Desert.
--Sorry if I'm not complaining. I'm really happy with my Creative equipment and have worked around all the little foibles that so much good sound for so little dollars has given me.

If I remember correctly there is a set of jumpers on that board for enable/disabling front panel audio jacks. That might be your prob.
hi GREYSTAR,
the set of audio jumpers on the motherboard does not affect the coaxial SPDIF output at all. it only affects the analog audio output from the motherboard.

• Sound Blaster Audigy 2: No sound in DVD or Windows Media Pla

Getting around in Windows XP I get all the sounds in the book, whether it's starting up or shutting down, critical "bongs", icon confirmation "clicking", all the sounds are there. Where I do not get sound is While attempting to watch a DVD or when I try to play any music file in Windows Media Player. The DVD video will play, there's just no sound, and with Media Player I get this error message:? "Windows Media Player cannot play the file because there is a problem with your sound device."? Again, all the other Windows sounds are there. Anybody have any experience with this one?

I have just installed my Sound Blaster card, and get all of the Windows sounds. I can even play music CDs and movie DVDs on different media players other than Windows Media Player. The sound is also fine when playing games. However, when I try to use Windows Media Player, the CD and DVD plays, but there is no sound. In fact, when Windows Media Player is up and running, there is no Windows sounds or even other sounds when playing games. As soon as I close Windows Media Player, there is sound. I analyzed the configuration settings for both the Sound Blaster card and Windows Media Player, but I cannot see any problems.
Does anyone have a clue?

• Restored my ipod but i cant play music when i press play it has the pla sign in the status bar but no sound is coming out

please help

Hey Cece rawr, not sure I'm understanding you. If sound only works when headphones plugged in. Would indicate the switch inside the headphone port is stuck open. Look inside the port make sure it is free of foreign debris, like lint, dirt etc. if something is there, remove it. If port is clear, try quickly plugging / unplugging the headphone jack about 10 to 12 times to free the switch. May need to repeat this action.  If sound is working OK through the speaker but intermittent with your headphones, would indicate a short in the headphones, try another pair of headphones with iPod and just to rule it out try the questionable headphones with a device known to work, does the problem move with headphones, if it does then it's the headphones, replace them. If the problem stays with the iPod, try resetting, press and hold both power and home buttons together, until the Apple logo appears, about 15 seconds+/-, then release both buttons. Or Go into Settings>General>Reset and tap Reset All Settings. If still not working, Connect to your computer, make backup copies of your stuff on your iPod to your computer first, then Restore to Backup. If still no joy, Restore to New. If still not working after restoring to factory settings then contact Apple and have your iPod evaluated for a hardware issue. Good luck, Cheers.

• Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio (PCI-Express) + Vista 32bit an media pla

Hi folks,Maybe someone here can help me with this issue, I recently bought a Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio 7. Sound Card - OEM (PCI-Express), it arri'ved with the cd with software and drivers on it and i installed it into my vista 32bit without any problems.On rebooting my sound was working normally and as far as i could tell all was great untill that is i went to play some mp3 using windows media player, wmp kept telling me it couldnt play the file type then i tried to play a wma file an got the same thing, basically almost all audio types will no longer play in wmp. I rolled back the driver to use the microsoft driver (high defination audio device) and everything is playing in media player again.Only now i cant use the software suppiled with the card. Anyone have any idea how to use the creative driver and get wmp to play properly thanks in advance.
(in addition) after some messing around with various settings i discovered that this seems to be caused by the sb enhancements, when i disable them in speaker properties wmp plays as it should, althought i am rather disappointed that i have to disable the features on the card inorder to get it to work properly.

Hi Orion,
You might want to get in touch with support to enquire about the CD.

• XMod launches Sound Volume instead of Media Pla

I installed an XMod Wireless and it's connected to my WXP PC. The PC has Windows Media Player as well as Creative MediaSource Version 3.30.2. When I push the Menu button on the Xmod's remote control, SNDVOL32.EXE pops up on the PC display instead of a media player.
How to fix this??Thanks

After some reading, I can see that I am not the only one with "crackling" problems, but I have still not found anyone with the problem with the sound completely disappearing until the application is restarted. I have also noticed that if I have several audio-applications open when the sound disappears, all of them loose the sound. If I then start another player, the new player has sound, but all the others that were open then the sound disappeared is still not working.
Anyone got any ideas? Please?

• How can I remove a child swf and stop all sounds when parent closes?

Hi All,
I am new to actionscript 3 and trying to learn as I go. The problem I am having is the following:
I have a carousel of images that load an external swf movie with a FLVPlayback component on it. The problem is that when the external swf unloads the sound of the FLVPlayback component continues to play. I am using a carousel component I found online to load the images and each image loads an external swf file. here is the code for it.
import com.carousel.DegreeCarousel;
import com.carousel.data.CarouselDO;
import com.carousel.data.AngleDO;
import com.carousel.data.ItemDO;
// DEFINING THE CAROUSEL OBJECT
var carouselSettings:CarouselDO = new CarouselDO();
carouselSettings.radiusX = 300;
carouselSettings.radiusY = 0;
carouselSettings.fov = 50;
carouselSettings.transitionTime = 1;
carouselSettings.ease = "easeInOutQuint";
carouselSettings.useToolTip = 0;
carouselSettings.useBlur = 1;
carouselSettings.maxBlur = 8;
carouselSettings.reflectionAlpha = 0.2;
// DEFINING ANGLES SETTINGS
var angleSettings_arr:Array = new Array();
angleSettings_arr[0] = new AngleDO({angle:0,alpha:1,scale:0.5});
angleSettings_arr[1] = new AngleDO({angle:90,alpha:1,scale:1});
angleSettings_arr[2] = new AngleDO({angle:180,alpha:1,scale:0.5});
// DEFINING THE ITEMS
var prefix = "content/thumbs/"
var galleryItems:Array = new Array();
galleryItems[0] = new ItemDO({thumb:prefix + "image_1.jpg", content:prefix + "swf1.swf", contentType: "flash"});
galleryItems[1] = new ItemDO({thumb:prefix + "image_2.jpg", content:prefix + "swf1.swf", contentType: "flash"});
galleryItems[2] = new ItemDO({thumb:prefix + "image_3.jpg", content:prefix + "swf1.swf", contentType: "flash"});
// PLACING THE CAROUSEL TO STAGE
var carousel:DegreeCarousel = new DegreeCarousel(carouselSettings,angleSettings_arr,galleryItems);
carousel.x = stage.stageWidth * .5;
carousel.y = stage.stageHeight * .5;
this.addChild(carousel);
// KEYBOARD NAVIGATION
// KEYBOARD EVENTS
stage.addEventListener(KeyboardEvent.KEY_DOWN, keyDownHandler);
function keyDownHandler(e:KeyboardEvent):void
        // left
        if(e.keyCode == 37)
            carousel.left(1);
        // right
        if(e.keyCode == 39)
            carousel.right(1);
        // top
        if(e.keyCode == 38)
            carousel.prevCycle();
        // Down
        if(e.keyCode == 40)
            carousel.nextCycle();
        // Space
        if(e.keyCode == 32)
The external movie loads fine. Then the external swf calls for a second swf containing a video. This is the code that is used to load the swf:
import flash.net.URLRequest;
import flash.display.Loader;
import flash.events.Event;
import flash.display.MovieClip;
import flash.events.MouseEvent;
var myVideo:URLRequest = new URLRequest("myvideo.swf");
var video:Loader = new Loader();
video.load(myVideo);
this.addChild(video);
When the carousel unloads, it unloads both movies but the sound keeps on playing.
Is there any way to stop the sound from keep playing?
Thank you very much!!
-M

You want to stop the audio from playing and also downloading more video/audio if it is still downloading when you go to a new keyframe where the video display/component or mp3 player is removed from the stage because it's keyframe ended or do not exist anymore but you still hear the audio.
Add an event listener to your video playback component that calls a function when the flash player tries to remove the video plaer from the stage that stops the netstream or at least stops/pauses the video playback.
[link removed]
//sample NetConnection and NetStream classes when the video player is removed from the stage tell the NetStream to stop playing or downloading the content with .close();
var connection:NetConnection = new NetConnection();
connection.connect(null);
var stream:NetStream = new NetStream(connection);
addEventListener(Event.REMOVED_FROM_STAGE, videoRemovedFromStage);
function videoRemovedFromStage(e:Event){
       stream.close();

• All sound on my laptop turns to a glitched mess when anything is being done while it is playing.

I really need help trying to figure this issue out. I have a HP2000 Notebook PC with Windows 8 I have had it since last March or April haven't had any issues until the past few weeks.
It has started to make terrible noises if I am in the middle of watching a show or listening to music and click on soemthing else or even close a program it starts to cut the sound out and starts making a glitch type noise it's really hard to explain the sound it's not static or white noise but very distorted.
Once whatever is loading is done it stops and plas the sound again without issues until something else decides to run. I have tried to stop and restart my windows audio and it didn't help. If there is anything else that can be done to fix it or even troubleshoot the issue so i can figure it out please let me know.
I'd really hate to buy a new computer because the sound is screwed up on this one and it's not even a year old. Any and all help is greatly appreciated thanks in advance!!

• AVI - idvd sound drop out?

When burning an 30 minute avi movie using idvd - the sound plays for the first 4 or so minutes then cuts out on the finished disc. The picture remains perfect - the sound just stops.
I have Perian 1.1.3 installed and the movies play perfectly in both Quicktime and Front Row.
This problem seems to have popped up round about December 08 on some other forums (and on my Mac Pro) but suggestions fizzle out.
There must be a fix to this problem without converting the avi to another format which takes hours.
It was only a short time ago that quicktime stopped playing sound on avi's and Perian fixed that issue - but not this one.

Fixed it by reverting to Perian 1.1.
Perian 1 stopped all my avi's plaing on Quicktime - 1.1 did the job!
