No sound on Equium - corrupt or missing driver (Code 39)

Hi
My name is Samee.
I have recently wanted to play music on my computer using windows media player but no sound comes from the speakers of the laptop, I have checked device manager and there is a minus sign next to sound, video and game recorders when I scroll down the is a yellow circle with an exclamation mark next to the device "Microsoft kernel wave audio mixer". When trying to play the music track my windows media player 11 it says
"Windows media player cannot play the file because there is a problem with your sound device. There might not be a sound device installed or it might be in use by another program, or it might no be functioning properly''.
When I try to uninstall the device and then scan for new installed hardware it gives me an error message
"Windows cannot load this device driver for this device the driver may be corrupt or missing. (Code 39)''
Is there any way I can make my speakers function again if so how?
Thanks Sam

i have first uninstalled any sound driver installed in the computer and then reinstalled the drives via the software CD provided by the computer manufacturer. after doing this it did not seem to resolve the problem, therefore i then had to lake a last resort and reformat the HDD. but after doing this i the sound drive was working correctly but i ran into another problem when installing windows xp service pack 2. It failed to install no error code came up.
can anybody tell me how to get out this mess.

after installing Windows 7 32bit, Multimedia Card Reader not working. All updates and drivers are installed, except mass storage controller driver, I can't find this driver anywhere.
    Please help

Try to install driver designed for A200 or A210. Maybe this will help. If not, who cares about card reader. Point is you can use Win7 and everything else works perfectly.
Disable this device in device manager and be happy.

This is the message I get "Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware.

    CAN ANYONE HELP??

    Hi
Im a little bit confused how you have managed to download the CD/DVD driver for the internal ODD (optical disk drive).
The point is that all Windows operating systems contain own Microsoft ODD driver which controls the CD/DVD drive.
Therefore its not necessary to load/install any drivers for CD/DVD drive.
In my personal opinion its a registry issue.
You should firstly go to the device manager and should remove the CD/DVD drive from the system.
    Next step is registry cleaning.
Start regedit and remove the Upperfilters and Lowerfilters values completely from the following registry key:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
    After that reboot the unit
    Should work
    Greets & Good luck
PS; This is an US notebook model and all drivers can be found on Toshiba US page.

  • Bios is corrupt or missing (error 501)

I downloaded the newest version of the bios.  Under system info, it identifies this newest bios as the bios.  But the computer shuts down every 30 minutes or so.  The computer shuts down.  Then it restarts, on its own, and a message comes up, saying "The bios is corrupt or missing (error code 501)." I tried recovering the bios using a press key combination, but it doesn't work.  I don't think the computer supports this function.   I do have a HP_Tools volume.  It has a folder "Hewlett Packard/Bios/Current" with files "68SAD" and "68SAD.sig".  The "Previous" folder has the same files.  The "New" folder is empty. I've always updated the Bios from the system drive, rather than from an external Flash drive.  I don't know if this matters or not.   I retried updating the Bios several times, thinking I did something wrong.  The computer still keeps shutting down, on its own, while doing things.  Then it restarts on its own with the "bios is corrupt or missing" message.  I can't turn off the computer without it restarting on its own and coming up with that message.   I'm desperate.

    Hi @HP-salum
Thank You for your inquiry, I will do my best to assist you.
It is my understanding that when you turn on your notebook you are receiving the Bios application 501 is missing or corrupt.
You will need to restore your bios.  Here is a link to assist you with that process. Restoring the BIOS
If you are unable to  restore the bios using the Windows key plus B method, if you can access the bios by pressing F10 approximately once ever second after pressing the power button to start the notebook to enter the system configuration screen you can try restoring the defaults.  There will be an option along the bottom of the screen.
If you are unable to install  the HP_Tools on a USB key as instructed in the previous document you can go to the download page for your notebook and look for a bios update which you can download and install on the USB key to  recovery your notebook.
Here is a link to Drivers & Downloads where you will need to input your exact model to display a list of software and drivers for your notebook.  This is where you can look for a bios update for yours.
    Good Luck!

  • Dont have any sound at my computer due to error code 39.

I have not sound at all. At Device manager I see  yellow marked devices, giving me the code error 52 ("Windows
cannot verify the digital signature for the drivers required for this device. A recent hardware or software change might have installed a file that is signed incorrectly or damaged, or that might be malicious software from an unknown source. (Code 52)").
So, I unistalled and re-installed but nothing. Still yellow marked. I did the Recovery thing (a couple of times using different dates ) but it did not complete successfully.
So I disable driver verification, while i was restarting my computer and now im getting the code 39("Windows
cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)").
it's that C:\Windows\System32\drivers\ktshunk.sys which is not getting verified. Any ideas?

  • Satellite P205D-S7802: CD/DVD drive issue; driver corrupted or missing

    Hi,
Dvd unit has not recognized by the OS.
When i open My Computer the only unit displayed is C, there's no D unit.
Then I go to device manager to check it, and I notice that the DVD unit has problems, then i open properties and the error message is:
"HL-DT-ST DVD RAM GSAT20N ATA DEVICE
Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing".
First i thought that was a hardware problem, but I introduced the windows vista disc at boot and the unit read it very well. Then I choose update driver from device manager and the updater told me that the best driver was already installed for the device.
I tried to replace the .sys and .info files for cd-roms but nothing happened either.
What is happening, please help, is urgent i need to use my dvd unit.
    Regards.

    Try this:
remove the CD/DVD drive from the device manager list

  • Windows To Go windows/system32/Winload.exe corrupt or missing

I have a windows to go hard drive and an error came up recently saying "windows/system32/winload.exe corrupt or missing". I made a recovery drive from normal windows 8 but it cant detect the windows to go hard drive (I think its because its only
looking to internal hard drives). any help would be appreciated. thanks
EDIT:: it should say winload in the title

    Hi!
    My name is Long.
I've got the same issue like you and resolved that without repartition and reinstall window to to.
I will so you step by step what i did to resolve the error with winload.exe corrupt or missing. I hove that will help you resolve your problem too.
As you known: Window to go run in a external harddrive with 2 partitions. The first Partition have 350 MB (FAT32, active partition and it contain boot files). The second partition have remaining space (contain window files).
The first you need a computer have a working window 7 or 8 OS(recommend window 8 or highter)
Plug your window to go hard drive to the window.
Assign the first partition 350 MB by disk manager with letter Z: (normally the fist partition 350 MB is not mounted)
Assign the second (contain windows files) with letter O:
Delete all file in the partition Z:
Open CMD and do the command.
           O:\windows\system32\bcdboot O:\windows /f ALL /s Z:
Restart and boot to window to go.
If you want to know why i did that, read below:
    (External Hard Drive = EHD)
i found a lot of the suggests in the internet and did that.
    - I had try to replace the winload.exe file in the second partition but it not effect.
    - I replace the registry data in folder \windows\system32\config but it not effect.
    - I did some commands found in the internet but not effect too. (https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/windows/en-US/1b2045b9-7fef-47f0-aea3-1e185fb7544c/fix-winloadexe-is-missing-or-corrupt-no-its-not)
    - System repair not work with EHD.
After i did all the ways found in the internet, i think that, the problem is not due to winload.exe file.
I read the tips to install window togo again and i try to reinstall the window to go without repartition.
    The install have 2 steps:
    - 1: Partition and set active.
    - 2: Copy file and make boot
I ignor the first step because my EHD have got 2 partitons like the tips.
I delete all file and folder relate to window except my pertional data (in the 2nd partition).
I extract install.wim file and copy all to the 2nd partition. I restart and boot to EHD but it still got error.
I'm used Bootice and check the MBR of EHD and i got unknown MBR. I think the the problem.
So I used Bootice software, set MBR of EHD = Windows NT 6.x. and I
Set PBR to 2 partitions are BOOTMGR boot record (FAT32/NTFS/ExFAT).  I restart and boot to EHD but it still got error.
Next, I delete all file in 1st partition of EHD.
I Open CMD and do the command
    "o:\windows\system32\bcdboot o:\windows /f ALL /s z:"
after that, i restart and boot to EHD and it worked. The window to go work perfect but i lost all settings :)
So i think the 2nd partition and all files is ok. The problem is by the 1st partition.

  • Equium L10 needs a driver for DVD-RAM drive

It's rather embarrassing, but in recent days I've come to find that somehow, the driver for my DVD RAM (Mat****a UJ830s) is somehow corrupt or missing.
I've searched high and low over the net to find the right driver to reinstall, but I can't find a single thing.
    Don't suppose anyone can help?

Do you mean the simply common driver for the Mat****a UJ830s?
Usually the windows use the common Microsoft OS driver and usually you will not find an Toshiba driver for this device.
Ok, on the page you will find an DVD-RAM but its only for the reading and writing of the DVD-RAM medias.
Caution when using DVD-RAM disks in the DVD MULTI drive Data cannot be written onto a DVD-RAM disk while the function for writing data onto Windows XP standard CD-R/RW disks is enabled.
A message appears when this function has been enabled so when using a DVD-RAM disk, heed the instruction given in this message by clearing "Enable CD recording on this drive.

  • Missing driver and "System Interrupts"

    Hello!
I found 2 problems on my brand new HP Pavilion 11-n070eg x360 :
    - In Device Manager, i have a missing driver und "Other Devices" (See screenshot). Tried to update / install, but dont know what it is. Also tried "Slim Drivers" to check for missing drivers, didnt find anything. Also HP Support Assistent doenst find missing software / drivers.
    - In Taskmanager there is a process called "System Interrupts" (See screenshot). It takes CPU power from 15%-30%.
It disappeared after a restart, but know its back after a while! I read online it has something to do with missing / corrupt drivers, so i hope there is a connection between my to problems.
    Name:           HP Pavilion 11-n070eg x360 ( Intel )
    Product ID:  00258-60101-73698-AAOEM
    Windows 8.1 x64 (everything up-to-date)
bought 2 weeks ago, not much installed. Standard Antivirus (Windows Defender), no Tuneup Software installed.
Thank you very much, i hope someone can help.

Then you will need to post the hardware ID for the unknown device, because I played my one guess card and lost.
Go to the device manager and click on the unknown device.
At the top of the Unknown Device window, click on the Details tab.
Now you see a Property drop down list and it is defaulted to Device Description.
Drop down on that list and select the second item (hardware ID's).
Post the top string of characters you see in the window.

  • Missing driver features

    Hi,
I've created a trigger to insert the primary key of a table. I was hoping to be able to retrieve that value as part of an insert using
    Statement.executeUpdate(java.lang.String, java.lang.String[])
I'm not sure if that would work, but it sounds like a cool feature.
    Instead I get:
    java.sql.SQLException: Unsupported feature
    at oracle.jdbc.dbaccess.DBError.throwSqlException(DBError.java:134)
    at oracle.jdbc.dbaccess.DBError.throwSqlException(DBError.java:179)
    at oracle.jdbc.dbaccess.DBError.throwSqlException(DBError.java:269)
    at oracle.jdbc.dbaccess.DBError.throwUnsupportedFeatureSqlException(DBError.java:689)
    at oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleStatement.executeUpdate(OracleStatement.java:7390)
Is there a timeframe for this and other missing features?

    So Pete,
I assume you are using the "ojdbc14.jar" (Oracle [thin] JDBC) driver and Oracle 8.1.7.4 database.
I also tried out some of the new features of the "java.sql" package (as defined in J2SE version 1.4) using the same combination as I assume that you are using.
    Nothing worked :-(
    The "readme" file states:
    JDBC 3.0 feature support
A few critical JDBC 3.0 features are supported.
I didn't find anything in that document detailing what features are supported -- nor what features are not supported.
I also didn't find anything in the "JDBC Developer's Guide" about JDBC 3.0 supported features, nor on "Technet", nor "MetaLink", nor "Ask Tom" and even not in the "comp.databases.oracle*" newsgroups.
So if you manage to "discover" this information, PLEASE share it with the rest of us.
[Note: I haven't yet tried to hack the JDBC driver code -- I'm not _that_ desperate for these features (yet :-)]
    Hope this has helped you.
    Good Luck,
    Avi.

  • During recovery from recovery partition I get message "INF file txtsetup.sif is corrupt or missing

During recovery from recovery partition I get message:
INF file txtsetup.sif is corrupt or missing, status 14.

Now I have a computer with a recovery partition and that's about it.
The C partition has been formatted by recovery and files have been copied but I can't get any further.
The computer is an nc6220 and the OS, if the recovery would work, is winXP pro.
    Anyone have any ideas ?

I assume you ran recovery from the hard drive?
    If so,
I would run a chkdsk on the recovery partition it may fix the sif file corruption.
You can do this from a XP boot cd using the command prompt, you just need to run it on the recovery partition instead of the C drive as explained in this article.
    http://kb.wisc.edu/helpdesk/page.php?id=5097
    if you use the

so the command might look something like this
    chkdsk /r D:
D: represents the recovery partition, which may be different than D:
