No sound on incoming Skype calls on Samsung Smart TV (UE55D8000)

I bought a camera (CY-STC1100) for my Samsung Smart TV (UE55D8000) to Skype. I can video call  but I cannot hear the incoming call on my TV speakers. Is there a setting I am missing to increase the volume .

Skype is designed on purpose to make use of the TV speakers and not to output any audio to external speaker systems. The reason for this is to ensure that the audio being picked up from the TV's microphone during a Skype call isn't affected the audio coming out of your TV speakers from the person at the far end of the call. If audio were allowed to be sent to external speakers (the type, placement, volume of which will vary in each living room) then it would be impossible to effectively cancel out the echo on the call and you would get terrible howling.
However, when you make a Skype call the audio should be automatically routed to your TV speakers without you having to manually switch to them.
Let me check with Samsung to make sure this is the case...

  • Incoming skype calls are not ringing on my iphone

incoming skype calls are not ringing on my iphone.  It used to work but now doesn't. I can't find anywhere in the settings to fix this.
    Any suggestions?

Ever since iOS5 the ringer and display does not work. No notifications.
I live in a gated community and the gate is assigned to my Skype number. I also have clients who call me and they aren't getting through.
If I have to purchase a land line, I will sue in small claims for the cost of the service and loss of service.
Do not waste anyone's time with cookie-cutter answers.
My Skype isn't ringing nor shows up on the screen ever since iOS5. You should have been working on this with the developer packs.
I've deleted and reinstalled 3x. It is running. Volume is correct.
This is outrageous as I pay for Skype and am thinking of canceling and demanding a full refund.
You are pushing things towards class litigation here in the US. There is no excuse.
Microsoft now owns Skype. They are a US corporation and are liable.

  • Windows XP sounds muted after skype call

I have been running skype on my wndows XP system with no problem until today. I've recently updated to the latest skype (ver.7.2) and just made my first skype call since the update.
What happened after the call is that all windows sounds have gone mute.
I've checked all sound settings both in skype and XP, rebooted the system - nothing helps.
But i've noticed a weird thing - when I start a skype call (e.g. sound testing service) all sounds come back on! When I end the call, the system goes mute again....
Any ideas on how to solve the problem? I'm pretty sure it's a glitch of the latest skype version. Is there a way to roll back to the previous version?

I have the same problem since using Skype yesterday on a laptop running Windows XP. Skype is the only program that seems to be able to produce any sound, both with onboard speakers and headphones. Does this have anything to do with the latest Skype update?

  • Incoming Skype calls always busy

This is a long-running problem with no apparent solution, but I figured I would ask. I have Skype and an online number. Now supposedly, this means I can receive incoming calls. I can't. The phone line is always busy. We've gone through Level 1,2, and 3 support with Skype -- still no success.
Their latest suggestion is that maybe something in the firewall is stopping incoming calls. (In which case, why don't they roll over into voice mail? he wondered.) OK, so humor me here -- will my Time Capsule block any incoming calls on Skype? Does anyone know the ports that I would need to check (simple google didn't reveals those)? Do I need to endure sitting on hold to talk to Road Runner tech support to find out if the ISP is blocking something?

My router is a Time Capsule. My modem is, yes, provided by Road Runner.

Skype support couldn't provide you with those?
I'll put in the request now. It could take a couple of weeks to hear back. But when you're dealing with Skype, time and space really kind of are irrelevant to them.

  • Help! How to forward incoming Skype calls to mobi...

    Hi everyone,
We're looking at the most cost-effective telecoms solutions for our business, and so far Skype seems to tick all the boxes.
Trouble is, it's all a bit confusing.
Are the prices the same, regardless of whether it's business use or not?
How do I forward incoming calls on Skype to a mobile, when I'm out of the office?
Is there anyone at Skype that I can actually speak to to discuss business packages?
    All help is gratefully appreciated

  • What happened to the sound on incoming phone calls and other notifications???

I have my sound on "Loud (Active)" as I always do and then all of the sudden it stops making any sounds or chimes when I receive calls, emails, texts or facebook notifications.   My calls and ect. are still coming thru, but just completely silent.  I have to look at my screen to see I have a call coming thru and wait for the little red light at the top to see if I have any text messages and whatnot.   Does anyone know why this could be happening?  Now during the workday I will probably end up missing important phone calls and playing phone tag with people.
    Any help would be appreciated

I have the same problem, the only thing by me is its on and off could be a few days that it should work and then all of the sudden it stops

  • How do I import sound from a skype call i recorded?

I recorded a call with someone through Skpe just sound no video and now I would like to import it into imovie
but I can't seem to figure out how to do it? Any help would be massively appreciated!

First, open your MOV file in QuickTime Player. Then click Command-I. (Type the letter I while holding down the command key). That will bring up the Inspector. Tell us everything that is listed by the word "FORMAT:"
Next, there are several generic ways to do this. They all should work.
The first way to try would be to use FILE/IMPORT MOVIE and import the MOV file into iMovie. From there you can add audio to your movie. Choose a portion of the event clip, drag it to your movie and drop it on a current clip. In the Popup menu, choose Audio Only.
The second way would be to process the MOV file in a third party app like MPEG Streamclip. Use FILE/EXPORT USING QUICKTIME. Choose an audio only codec like AIFF or AAC.
Another way. Use FILE/IMPORT MOVIE to bring the MOV file into an iMovie Event. Start a new project in iMovie. Select the clip in the Event and type E to bring it into the project timeline. Then SHARE/EXPORT USING QUICKTIME. Choose Sound to AIFF. This will give you a sound file that you can use in another project, in iTunes, etc.

  • Video calling with Samsung smart TVs

I've just bought a Samsung D6530 smart TV. Problem is that people I call can't activate their cameras so I can't see them and they can't see me. Could this be a firewall problem? There don't seem to be any settings on the TV that I can change for this?

I have the same problem,I bought this state of the art Samsung D6530 in the hope that one of the advantages would be chatting to my friends and family in the comfort of the lounge on Skype but I am experiencing the following:-
     I can connect, no problem.
I can see myself in the window on the TV screen.
I cannot see my friends and they cannot see mevebut we can hear each other
I can call my TV from my laptop  and it works perfectly !!
Differences... My laptop uses Vista, my friend in New York uses Mac, my family in  London use Windows.
I went back to the store that supplied the TV and they said that they have heard of this problem and the way around it is check that the people you are calling have Skype 4.2 for windows or Skype 5.0 or higher for Mac.
I would be interested in your comments.

  • Weird noises in the Skype call that only i can hea...

so im getting these weird noise in skype, obviously, ANYWAY the first problem was that skype plays audio through the speakers instead of my headphones which i fixed by seletecting "Speakers and Headphones" as a default device and communication device and that solved the problem untill i had this problem which im asking RIGHT NOW, anyway im getting like a fan like static sound in the skype call i made sure that no one was using a fan in the call i was in and all of them werent using any, i then unplugged my headphones so the audio can be played through the speakers of my laptop and everyone could hear that noise, the only way i can fix this is by setting Communications headphones as a default device but then it brings me back to the problem of other audio such as youtube videos being played through the external speakers but if i disable "Speakers and Headphones" everything works but i cant ADJUST THE VOLUME OF EVERY INDIVIDUAL PROGRAM WTF? CAN SOMEONE HELP ME!

depending on your service provider, they're going to have to take care of it possibly with a ticket of sorts. usually it's an issue at the tower level. i can guarantee nothings wrong with your phone tho:D

  • Receive Skype calls on 3cx

    Hi,
I'm new to this so please forgive me if a simple step by step explanation has been given somewhere before.
I didn't found it, so feel free to point me to it.
I would like to receive my skype calls on my PBX.
That part I've found out, it is possible with skype connect.
So made an account (didn't buy anything).
I do get the message that my skype account is connected on my 3CX.
    So far so good.
But whatever I do with that account (like calling it), I do not get a connection on the 3CX.
So I probably need to buy something in order to get it to work.
There are many things one can buy like skype credits and/or channels.
    But what's needed?
As the page of skype connect  states "
With channels from just €4.95 (€5.69 incl. VAT) a month, you can make the most of these great prices:"
So probably I need a channel.
Do I need to pay for a channel each month only to receive incoming skype calls on my PBX?
Or is there something else needed?

    Dear cdgo,
Yes, channels are required to make/receive calls; the number of channels depends on the amount of concurrent calls that you will be making, up to 300 can be purchased.  Channels have a monthly fee of $6.95/month USD.
To receive incoming calls you can purchase an Online number, if available in your country.  The current price for Online numbers is $6.30/month USD.  Also, Skype Connect is a ‘pay as you go’ service using Skype Credit (that is attached to the SIP profile), and does not support any of the Skype Client subscriptions.  Pricing information can be found at:

  • Skype Call Query

    Hello Friend's
I am new on skype and i have one query about skype call.
I am using skype on my windows computer and also on my mobile phone.
My Query is...... if i login skype on my windows pc and also on mobile phone then which is the default
    device for incoming skype call.
Because i am sign in on my mobile device & auto sign on skype at windows startup.
    Thanks

Hi, Euroshine, and welcome to the Community!
An incoming call should cause both "instances" (places you are signed on to and using Skype) to ring at roughly the same time; on whichever computer or mobile device where you are signed on to Skype that you answer the call, "wins" the call.  The other "instance" should then stop ringing almost immediately.
    Regards,
    Elaine

  • Can not logon using akype account on Samsung Smart...

Just updated Skype on my Samsung smart TV.  Now i can't logon.  Error is incorrect password.  Checked with windows 7 and windows 8.  I can log on using microsoft account, but TV wants skype name.  Seems there was a similar problem a year ago.  Is this problem back?

At the moment you can only sign in to Skype on the Samsung TV using a Skype Name. If you normally sign in to Skype on another device using a Microsoft Account (which is in the format of an email address), then you cannot sign in on the Samsung TV using the Microsoft Account at the moment.
The easiest solution for now, is to create a new Skype account for use on the TV - you can do this on the TV itself by selecting the 'create an account' option on the main Skype menu.

  • Skype call - Samsung LED 101 cm 40F5500

I have purchased this TV for my office and am sorry to report that SKYPE just does not work on this. Though other apps work absolutely fine.
Got a separate ethernet connection of 3 MBPS and yet the Skype call doesn't work properly - the picture, the sound etc all keeps fluctating and it is impossible to have a normal chat. Tried calling other laptops, PC, TV and yet the result is the same. I have also complained to the local SAMSUNG help line over the last 4 months and still the problem continues.
My questions - 1) Why can't I see the call strength meter while I am connected on a skype call ? I can see it on my mobile/laptop/pc but not on my TV ?
    2) Who will help me on this ? - Skype team or Samsung team ?
Awaiting any advice that can help me.

Just to add to my query -
I am using Skype version 3 on my TV along with Samsung Camera VG-STC3000/XL for Skype calls.

  • NO SOUND ON DV6, BUT STRANGELY WORKS WHEN SKYPE CALLS ARE ON

    Hi,
I have gone tried many of the things that were provided in these forums but nothing has helped so far. There is no playback from the speakers, so I assumed the speakers were dead and started using external speakers, but strangely the playback started working when I made a skype call.
Any sounds played from media players, websites or any other source work properly when a skype call is being made.
As soon as the call is disconnected, everything stops.
What is the skype call triggering that enables the audio to play.
I have uninstalled/reinstalled IDT drivers, tried all sorts of configuration settings, but nothing has worked so far.
What is the problem here and how can it be fixed???
    Please help!!
