No sound on ipod apps

My ipod touch applications do not have sound. I have both free and purchased apps on my ipod. The sound did work for a while but then it gradually stopped. I have tried reinstalling them but it did not improve the sound. I have emailed apple support and they couldn't help with the issue.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Any help would be appreciated

I had done everything and nothing was helping the problem. Once I spent 2 hours working on it. Today, I was playing one of my apps (crash cart) and -during the little video before the game actually starts(they have it on several apps- ostly games), if you touch the screen it has all of the volume fast forward ect. as if you were watching a movie- I started playing with the volume. and this really weird black and white volume symbol came up with little bars underneath it. I started playing with it and all of a suddent the volume was back on- for all my apps!!!
I just wanted to post it, maybe it was just luck but it worked
I hope it stays like this!!!

You have your mute button on.  In Settings check to see if you have Lock Orientation checked or Mute checked on the right hand side.  If you have Mute checked, all you need to do is click the mute button above the volume control buttons on the upper right hand side of your iPad.  If you have Lock Orientation checked in settings, you double click your home button and the most recent apps will appear.  Swipe your finger to the right until the Mute icon appears on the left side.  Touch it and you will unmute system sounds.

  • IPod app sound level in multitasking is very low, is there a solution

I have a Pioneer stereo in my car with iPod connect cable. When I plug in my iPad and play songs from it with the iPod app it works as it should and I can hear the songs in the car speakers.
BUT, when I turn on my GPS App, CoPilot, the iPod app goes in the background and continue palying songs but in with a very low volume, van barely hear it. The CoPilot directions voice is loud and clear.
Is there a way to keep the sound level in the iPod app even if it is in the background?
    Thanks

    Hi.
Firstly, try going into ipod and turning up that volume, without using the hardware buttons.
If that just also increases the sound of the CoPilot directions, try changing the settings of the CoPilot app.
You could try contacting the developer of the app via the following links:
    [CoPilot Live HD Website|http://www.alk.eu.com/copilot/ipad>
    [CoPilot Support|http://www.alk.eu.com/support/copilot-support>
Hope this helps. Remember to mark this as helpful or solved if that is the case.

  • Downloaded new app, sound wouldn't work, made chgs and now no sound except iPod

So I downloaded a fancy app and the sound wouldn't work.  COntacted the group. switched the toggle to lock screen, now no sounds except iPod, great.  Any/all suggestions much appreciated, so frutstrating.

The next thing that I would try then is to delete the app. Then reboot the iPad. Then go through the steps that King Penguin posted and see if the sounds return. You can always download the app again via the purchased tab in the App Store.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
If that doesn't work, the next step would probably be to reset all settings.
Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your app preferences and device settings again.

  • After updating my 4S to 5.0.1 my iPod app no longer plays my music

Strangest thing, after updating my 4S to 5.0.1, when I turn on my iPod app, and hit play on any of my songs, it shows the play button at the top like it's playing, but no sound at all, I checked volume to ensure it wasn't muted, but thats not the issue.  I also updated my iPad 2 to 5.0.1, but the iPod app works fine on that.  Any ideas ? Has anyone else had this problem?

Are the songs that you are trying to play grayed out in your playlists?
I had this problem after upgrading to iOS 5, and I found that deleting all the songs from my device and re-syncing them fixed the problem.
    To do this:
    1. Attach your iOS device (either using the cable or to the same wi-fi network if using iTunes Wi-Fi Sync).
    2. Open iTunes, and click on your iOS device.
    3. Click on the Music tab.
    4. Uncheck the "Sync Music" checkbox at the top.
    5. When asked, click "Don't Sync Music".
    6. Sync the iOS device. Your songs will be removed from the device.
    7. Check the "Sync Music" checkbox at the top once again.
    8. Sync the iOS device again, and your songs will be re-added.
I don't know why the upgrade made some songs unreadable, but the resync fixed the problem for me (I had to do this for each of my iOS devices after upgrading them all to iOS 5). Fortunately, I only had 1,000 songs, so the resync didn't take forever.
    Hope this helps!

  • Why can i not hear any sound on my apps?

New Iphone 4, i can hear clicks, my itunes works - but i cant hear any sound on my apps?  Ive checked settings and audio, but no luck.  Tried playing with the volume buttons too....
    Anyone had this issue?

If you quit the app and restart it, the sound will return.
To truly quit an app :
Press the home button to leave the app.
Double click the home button, this will reveal your recent apps,
The last one you used will be on the left. Press and hold the app's icon
And a 'x' will appear at the corner of the icon. Press the x and the app
    Will quit.
Click the home button again, then restart the app in question.
Your sound should now be working.
I don't know why the sound stops, this happens to me on all my
    IOS devices, iPhone, iPad, iPod.
Hoping some future update fixes the problem, but until then my
    Method works.

  • Ip4 ipod app problem

I now narrowed down a problem with the level of sound output from the ipod app to having too many multitasking apps. The apps are just basic news things like reason magazine, foxnews, npr, safari, etc. Nothing that is really doing anything in multitask mode.
The symptom of the problem is audio output that is about half as loud.
I have now discovered that if I close the apps while the ipod is running that when they drop to less than four the sound will double.
Anyone else notice this? Hopefully it will be addressed in the next software release.
    PS I am running ios4.01

    BUMP:
Just trying again to see if anyone has experienced this problem.

  • A way to normalize volume in the iPod app on iPhone?

I have a set of favorite songs in a playlist in iTunes on my PC, and in my iPod Classic. As either one is used to play the playlist, the volume of each song is reasonable in relation to the others. It doesn't surprise me, since I've been told that iTunes "normalizes" volume levels of music files as they are added to iTunes. Not sure if it adds playback information to the file in a form similar to the data tags on mp3 files or what.
Anyway, here's the problem. I synched my iPhone 3GS to iTunes so I can play this one playlist via the iPod app in iPhone. But there's one musician whose songs come out sounding twice as loud, and distorted. They don't do that in iTunes or in the iPod Classic. I poked around on the iPod app for some settings without any luck.  Suggestions?  I can take the original music files and create lower-volume versions, but that seems like kind of a clumsy approach.

I recently purchased an iPod Touch for a family member for a Christmas present. I would like to have it charged and ready for him to use on Christmas morning so he doesn't have to wait for it to charge. According to the instructions I need to register the iPod before it can be used. The problem is that I would need to register it under my account as we won't have a computer available on Christmas day though we will have a wireless Internet connection. My questions are, if I register the iPod under my account will my relative be able to unregister my account information when he goes home and then re-register under his own account or can he just delete my account information and enter his own account information?
No, the iPod will have to be restored to factory defaults
If he can't do that is there a way he can reset the iPod so all personal information is deleted and he can start from scratch and enter his account information?
Yes, just restore the iPod to factory defaults.
I hope these questions make sense.
Thank you to anyone who can help me with this. I would love for my relative to be able to use his new iPod Touch from the minute he opens it. Thank you and Happy Holidays to all.

  • HT201472 If my ipod was stolen, how can I figure out if the find my ipod app is activated

If my ipod was stolen, how can I figure outg if the find my ipod app is activated.

    - If you previously turned on FIndMyiPod on the iPod in Settings>iCloud and wifi is on and connected go to iCloud: Find My iPhone, sign in and go to FIndMyiPhone. If the iPod has been restored it will never show up.
    - You can also wipe/erase the iPod and have the iPod play a sound via iCloud.
    - If not shown, then you will have to use the old fashioned way, like if you lost a wallet or purse.
    - Change the passwords for all accounts used on the iPod and report to police
    - There is no way to prevent someone from restoring the iPod (it erases it) using it.
    - Apple will do nothing without a court order

  • Weird iPod app Problem

When I go to the iPod app in my iPhone, it says that there is no content. But, after I have bought a song in the iTunes WiFi Music Store and then tap the black "Purchased" button in the Downloads area that brings you to the Purchased playlist in the iPod app, I can view everything on my iPhone -- so the content is being synced. I can also view through iTunes that the content is being synced. I have tried to rebuild my iTunes library. I really have no idea what's going on. It's just when I tap the orange iPod button that I can't view any of the content.
I'm running Leopard, by the way, and the latest version of iTunes.

my problem in iphone is when im listening to music on ipod the volume goes down. The volume is full in the settings. Only after I restart the phone it becomes normal. But again when I access the sounds settings the volume goes down again…
    can some1 help with this… ???
my speakers are not working… even when the headphones are not connected.. its 1 week now and im still unable to listen music from the speakers.
    What may causing this… ??

  • On my iPod app there's a album cover art that has been enlarged and won't go away. Has anyone else experienced this?

I was syncing my iPad tonight and when I went to look at the songs to make sure they had been uploaded, there was a album art that had been enlarged and was covering other albums up. I triedn to re-sync it and it didn't go away. I deleted the album completely on the computer and then tried to re-sync it again and it was still there. Does any have/had this same problem, and if so, does anyone have a solution(s)?

Don't take this the wrong way but are you sure it isn't the cover of the last album that you played in the app? See if there is an arrow in the bottom right corner of the album art and if so, tap the arrow to go back to the main menu screen.
If that doesn't work, quite the app. Double tap the home button and your recent apps will appear in the task bat. find the iPod app icon and hold won on it until it wiggles. Then tap the minus sign in the corner of the icon. Tap the screen to return to the home screen. Now restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and slide to turn off. Hold down on the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and then let go of the button and the iPad will restart.
With reference to my opening statement ....Don't take this the wrong way ... I read a post today where someone was trying to troubleshoot a sound problem on his iPad. One patient user posted back and forth with the OP and after about six posts both ways, it turned out that the OP had the volume turned all the way down on his iPad. He was totally unaware of the fact the iPad had a volume control.

  • I am not getting any sound with my apps, only itunes, any thoughts?

I am not getting any sound with my apps, only itunes, any thoughts?

Have you got notifications muted ? Only notifications (including games) get muted, so the iPod and Videos apps, and headphones, still get sound.
Depending on what you've got Settings > General > Use Side Switch To set to (mute or rotation lock), then you can mute notifications by the switch on the right hand side of the iPad, or via the taskbar : double-click the home button; slide from the left; and it's the icon far left; press home again to exit the taskbar. The function that isn't on the side switch is set via the taskbar instead : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4085

  • How do I stop Voice Memos from showing up in the iPod App?

I have an iPhone 4.   I do not want Voice Memos to pass through to the iPod app.  I really don't want them in iTunes either, but I can live with that I suppose.  In iTunes, in the iPhone section, under the Music tab, "Include Voice Memos" is NOT checked.  However, after I record new voice memos, the next time I sync, they go into iTunes and right into the iPod app.  Then when I'm playing the "Recently Added " playlist (my new music), I hear my voice ("And here is my recap of today's marketing meeting") which I do NOT want to hear in iPod.  Thanks for any help.

        Hi preserve,
This is very strange! I have the LG G2 phone and my text messages do not go to my email. What text messaging application applications are you using? Are all text messages going to your email or only those from certain contacts? I use Verizon Messages http://bit.ly/13rcZfv and all my messages flow very nice. Please post answers to the above questions and we'll explore options to resolve.
