No Sound on main box, installed yesterday.

now I have no sound on my main box. Just installed yesterday and it was working fine. I wanted to check to make sure it recorded the shows I setup. And it did but there is no sound. I checked all the setting on the X1 box and on my TV - Samsung Smart TV. The TV makes bleeping sounds when I move around on it's menus so I know the sound is working on the TV, not sure how else to test that but that seems fine. I'm still on hold for Comcast support, I chose to Activate even though already activated when I first called in. Now my main box that records and has some programs I wanted to watch has no sound. My 2nd box won't record because it cannot see the main box. I'm starting to regret exchaning my old equipment which worked fine, just lacked the new features, I had 2 DVRs with my old setup. The new remote box in my bedroom does not see the main box so it won't let me record anything. Won't be able to watch my morning programs while getting up in the morning.

This happened to be also. I just reset the box and let it load again. It fixed the problem., this also has happened where I have had sound and no picutre............

I do not want to be forced into buying a newer version of iPad because you broke this one!

In spite of the fact that you said you checked the settings, I still believe that you have system sounds muted.
System sounds can be muted and controlled two different ways. The screen lock rotation can be controlled in the same manner as well.
Settings>General>Use Side Switch to: Mute System sounds. If this option is selected, the switch on the side of the iPad above the volume rocker will mute system sounds.
If you choose Lock Screen Rotation, then the switch locks the screen. If the screen is locked, you will see a lock icon in the upper right corner next to the battery indicator gauge.
If you have the side switch set to lock screen rotation then the system sound control is in the control center if you are running iOS 7. Swipe up from the bottom of the screen to get to control center . Tap on the bell icon and system sounds will return.
If you have the side switch set to mute system sounds, then the screen lock can be accessed in the same manner as described above.

AS for your other issues, have you done any other troubleshooting like resetting your iPad, resetting all settings or doing a complete factory reset?

Can't record on my 2nd box, says make sure the main box is plugged in and powered on

getting this error when trying to record on the 2nd box which is not the main box: Please check that your living room is plugged in and powered on so that your programs can record. Living Room is the main box and it is plugged in and powered on, any know how to resolve this? I'm on hold with Comcast Support for the past 20 min now figured I try the forum. Also I just installed the equipment yesterday so this has never worked. I can watch TV on both of them and get the Guide OK so they are clearly communicating with the mother ship. thanks

The health check on your account did reveal some signal issues particularly with that box. As John said, something is preventing that box some receiving/relaying optimal signal which very well could be what's causing your recording issue. It's recommended to have a tech come out to correct everything. You can send me days/times that work best for you and I'll set one up.

I am locked out of my Itunes. When I launch on the desktop I receive an authentication request from www.podshow.com that I cannot satisfy with password. Actually i don't ever remember giving them a password. When I cannot satisfy the password it locks up my screen. When I went to the website listed I could not satisfy the password to even get onto the site. I am pretty sure it is a feed, how can I delete it and get back into my itunes? How to install Windows on MAC? (Can't see the check box "Install or remove Windows 7 or later version" on Boot Camp Assistant)

I want to install Windows 7 on my MBP mid 2012 but in Boot Camp does not appear the check box: "Install or remove Windows 7 or later version". I continued with making the USB bootable with Windows 7 but then when I restart and boot with the USB I still can't install Windows because then I receive an error: ""Windows cannot be installed on this disk. The selected disk is of GPT partition style."
From OS with Boot Camp I didn't manage to make a partition for Windows instead I made one with Disk Utility (formated FAT).
After booting from USB that partition was also formated into NTFS necessary for Windows. Still the same error.
Any idea how to install Windows on my MAC?

If you are refering to this I tried to update the EFI version (I see only SMC version 2.9 as a diferrence of what I have) but on installing I received an error: "This software is not supported on your system."

Did you download and install the Windows Support software? First step in Bootcamp Assistant is to download the support software. Then did you install the support software from within Windows?

Are you updating from the Editor, if not go to Expert Mode and click:
Help >> Updates
But check first under the Help menu that you are signed-in - your email address used for you Adobe ID should be visible. You should be able to update to v8.5

I had same issue. I flollowed http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1538 and the actual part that fixed it for me was step 5. Once I finally found it under DEVICES under "portable devices" the connected type of device was only listed as "Apple Iphone" and nothing was listed under the Universal Serial bus Controllers. After I followed the directions to install the proper mobile device driver then Itunes was able to see my phone. My PC then also has the correct device listed under the Universal Serial bus Controllers.
It is not enough that your connected device says "Apple Iphone" ... so read into the directions step by step for your OS. I think this is the fix for most new connection issues seen with Itunes 11.1.5! Nice bench testing Apple.

Open the Finder.
From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type or copy/paste: /Library/Preferences
Click Go then move the com.apple.soundpref.plist file from the Preferences folder to the Trash.

Apps like MacKeeper or any other maintenance apps like CleanMyMac 1 or 2, TuneUpMyMac or anything like these apps, installed on your Mac, while they appear to be helpful, can do too good a job of data "cleanup" causing the potential to do serious data corruption or data deletion and render a perfectly running OS completely dead and useless leaving you with a frozen, non-functional Mac.
Plus, these type of apps aren't really necessary. They really aren't.
There are manual methods to clear off unnecessary data off of your Mac that are safer and you have complete control over your Mac and not just leave a piece of auto cleaning software in charge of clearing off data off of your Mac.
These types of apps potential of causing OS X issues outweighs the implied good and benefits these types of hard drive or memory "cleaning" apps are written to do.
Plus, the software companies that write these apps make it hard to easily uninstall these apps if something DOES go wrong and these apps work in a way where you have no recovery or revert function to return your Mac back to its former, working state in the event something does go wrong.
Apps that have no obvious way or uninstall themselves or do not come with a dedicated uninstaller app to uninstall the app in question should be avoided and NOT even considered for download, install and use.
It is best to never, EVER download and install these types of apps.
The risk to your system and data is too great a risk!
