NoXNF,
What OS are you using? If you are using XP /2000 then try using the Li'veDrvUni pack.
Go to the driver download page and do a search for this filename - Li'veDrvUni-Pack(ENG).exe

  • Trouble running DVI video and HDMI audio out of 6950

    MSI P67A-G43 Motherboard

I have two Twin Frozr iii 2gb 6950 cards and am attempting to use the HDMI on the video card solely for 5.1 audio out to my receiver while using video through the DVI jack of the same card directly to my monitor without success.
-Audio functions if I run the HDMI from the card into my receiver, then out to my Asus VG236 monitor.
-Audio functions when I run from the card to my receiver then out to my plasma tv.
-Audio functions if I have the DVI run directly to the Asus VG236 monitor and HDMI to the receiver then plasma tv (only in dual display and the tv must be on for audio to function this way. If I turn the tv off even though the receiver is still on the audio stops working and windows sound lists the 'AMD HDMI Output' as not plugged in).
-Audio even fuctions when I run DVI to the monitor and HDMI to the receiver, then out to the HDMI port on the same monitor but the monitor will only run at 60hz this way even when DVI is selected on the monitor, as though it defaults to the HDMI when dvi and hdmi are both plugged into the monitor.
And if i run the hdmi to the receiver "HDMI IN" port without using the "HDMI OUT" port from the receiver to anything, like my tv or monitor, the sound doesn't work and in windows sound the "AMD HDMI Output" is listed as "not plugged in" .
I purchased this monitor for the true 120hz capabilities, the HDMI on this monitor doesn't support 120hz, the maximum is 60hz. DVI is required to run at 120hz. I don't see any option in windows sound settings or CCC to resolve this.
I have also tried disabling onboard audio in BIOS with no effect.
For now i'm running the audio out my MOBO jack through an optical cable to the receiver but optical only supports 2.1 sound.
Any suggestions you can offer would be appreciated, thank you

  • Siri problems since upgrading to iOS 7

What is with Siri? Since upgrading my iPhone 5 to iOS 7, there are long periods during the day and evening where reponse is either deadingly slow, or where I get an error message back saying they cannot take requests now.
This never ever happened with iOS 6.
    And I'm on a high-speed network.
Is it just me, or are there Siri problems in iOS 7, or is Apple just inundated with a lot of new Siri requests since the new iPhones were released and can't cope with the load?
It's become unreliable to use for dictation on the iPhone.
    Thanks,
    doug

Add me to the list, Doug.
Since updating to iOS 7, Siri takes way too long (easily 15 seconds+) before providing a response if it hasn't aborted with "cannot take requests".  ****, even having it set a timer and resume my audiobook, both not requiring the internet, takes time.
Lastly, on a purely personal note, the new Siri voice drives me nuts. Its pitch is too fast making it sound mousy, hurried, amd un-natural.

  • Catalyst control center stopped working

    Windows 7 64-bit
Error message "Catalyst Control Center stopped working......."
Two monitors connected, HPw2408h and TV. HP monitor is connected using DVI and the TV using HDMI.
The issue is that when the pc starts things run fine. WhenI want to have the sound to the TV I switch the Sound Playback to AMD HDMI Output and the TV now has the sound. After a while I will get an error message "Catalyst Control Center stopped working.......". When Sound Playback is opened the AMD HDMI Output is no longer working and has a red arrow pointing down and it indicates the AMD HDMI Output is "not plugged in".
I have download the latest drivers and still have the same results.
What is needed to correct the issue?

    Hello insco6750,
When you updated the drivers did you install over top of existing software or uninstall beforehand?
First we should try ripping everything ATI off of the system, including software, drivers and CCC. You should be able to uninstall everything through Add/remove programs.
After you remove everything reboot and let windows reinstall it's own drivers and software. You don't need CCC to do dual monitors so we can do testing without it.
Once you let windows install see if your HDMI output no longer works when you switch to the TV.
Post back your results after completing this.

  • MX 440 VT8X (MS-8891) Gray Screen

Every time in install the drivers for the MX440 8X (128mb) on my Win ME system I end up with a solid grey screen and a blinking curser.  I have to reboot the machine, go to safe mode and change the drivers to standard vga to get back in.
    System configuration is below.
Here's what I've done so far:
-- Out of the box standard installation -- grey screen
-- Enabled / disabled 8x AGP support on MB -- grey screen
-- Downloaded and installed several versions of drivers:
closest model number I could find was MS-8888 (mine is MS-8891 -- at least that looks like my card) .  I started with the standard driver (v 31.00) that comes with the card -- grey screen.  I downloaded both newer versions (40.74 and 41.07) installed and tried both with the same results.
--  Using the Live Update 2 software I was able to download and updated the Bios too -- still grey screen
Note:  I have the 64m / 4x AGP version of this card in another system and it works very well.  I haven't had a chance to pull it out and test it in this system yet.  But I'd like to take advantage of the 8x AGP on the MB and new vid card.
    Any and all advice welcome.
    Thanks!

  • [solved] No sound and AMD-Vi: Event logged

    Hello,
Today I started to migrate my HTPC from openElec to Arch Linux since several things started to annoy me.
For now, I have made a fresh install and installed XBMC but I can't get audio. It is a AMD setup and has an Asus Xonar XD PCIe card installed. Integrated HD Audio is disabled.
The user xbmc is in the audio group and when I ssh into the HTPC and try to play a file with aplay I get tons of these on the TV:
    [ 46.215678] AMD-Vi: Event logged [IO_PAGE_FAULT device=02:00.0 domain=0x0000 address=0x0000000000100000 flags=0x0050]
Channels are unmuted and I priorized the output with the following alsa-base.conf:
    options snd slots=snd_virtuoso
    options snd_virtuoso index=0
Alsamixer shows the desired sound card as default.

Does anyone here have a hint of what can be wrong?
Maybe this is interesting, too. The device, the AMD-Vi-Event refers to, is the mentioned sound card.

Can't anyone help on this one? I just checked with a Fedora 19 Live image (Kernel 3.9.5) and I get the same error messages in dmesg as in this Arch installation, also no audio.
I believe the problem here might not be directly audio related, but where could I search for the cause?
Also, I don't really think it's a hardware failure since audio is working nice with openElec (using Kernel 3.10, if I remember that right)...
Edit: So I've set up openELEC to boot (over PXE, so I don't have to reinstall everything) and sound is working out of the box. Here is some data for comparison to the above statements from the Arch system:

Not a single one of these AMD-Vi Events is in the dmesg output.
Does anyone have a clue on how I could figure out if they installed uncommon patches or use weird parameters to get all this running?
    Edit #2:
So I've searched through some of these odd IOMMU options and found this: https://www.kernel.org/doc/Documentatio … ptions.txt
I tried iommu=soft as a kernel parameter and I get audio output and the AMD-Vi Events are no longer present. But can anyone explain to me what exactly I have done here? Using a "software bounce buffering" seems weird to me if I have some hardware present, that can do such things (The IOMMU, I assume)...
Since this really does not look like only audio-related problem, can someone perhaps move the thread to the right place. Although I'm not quite sure which this will be.

  • [solved] No sound with AMD Fusion C-60

I have a freshly-installed headless server with a Fusion C-60 APU (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a … 6813131843). It's mostly a NAS box, but I'm also trying to set it up to run MPD. However, I apparently have no sound at all:
    sir ~ # aplay -l
    aplay: device_list:268: no soundcards found...
Is the C-60 just too new to be supported? Do I need to be running a GUI of some sort to make the audio work?

Thanks, apparently it was disabled in the BIOS. Never thought to check there because I've never had a motherboard ship with sound disabled by default.

  • High pitch hissing sound from 970A-G46 motherboard with AMD FX 8 core processor

I am getting high pitch hissing sound from 970A-G46 motherboard with AMD FX 8 core processor.
Sound is coming from some place near CPU area.
I tried changing Core C 6 State in BIOS from Enabled to Disabled to fix this issue.
    I also followed steps in following link, w w w . tomshardware.com/forum/292915-30-high-pitched-noise-coming-area
    No luck with above changes.
I heard this is a common problem with MSI motherboards. Is there any fix for this issue.

Quote from: flobelix on 12-January-13, 18:49:48
That is surely no typical problem of MSI mainboards. In fact that is very rare if it is the board.
Tke the board out of case on a non conductive surface with nothing else connected but but mainboard, ram, psu, cpu and vga. Try it again after clearing CMOS (>>Clear CMOS Guide<<)
If you are then 100% sure that it is the board this could be a defect as MSI mainbaords normally don't cause coil whine and I haven't heard that about 970A-G46 so far
I tried clearing CMOS by replacing jumper and loading factory defaults. Still high pitch sound is coming intermittently. As my 30 day period is over with Frys Electronics, How easy to get a replacement board from MSI. Does anyone know the steps?

  • Usb sound interface - AMD processor - win7 noise problem

I use m-audio mobilepre usb as the external sound interface. I got the noise(crackles) problem when I was using win XP and vista but HP USB filter patch solved the prblem.
Now I use win7 but usb filter doesn't work at the same problem. I checked all USB ports and one of them -sometimes- works properly. But it's not an exact solution and I don't want to re-use WinXp etc. There are many people crying about the same problem. In different forums I saw problem was related with IRQ, hubs etc. but I don't know how to configurate. Do you have any idea? Thanks...

I am one person who has been posting about and investigating this problem with various usb1.1 audio interfaces. I believe the mobilePre is usb 1.1 rather than usb2.0, but I may be wrong.
I have been in touch with m-audio about my Fast Track device and this issue and they say they have raised it as a bug with AMD who are responsible for the chipset in my machine as well as the processor. I can only assume that this means that they, m-audio, are seeing the same problem.
I can record and play cleanly if I insert an external usb2.0 hub, with or without external power and also disable the wi-fi on the machine.
There are free Microsoft applications that allow you to log and see the commands being sent via usb, and here they clearly show usb problems that only occur under Windows 7. I can post about these tests if they will help, but they do involve some nerdiness and hard work getting them to work. Alternatively, I am still trying to get anyone to respond after trying my simple test of setting up the usb device to play using asio drivers, open Windows 7 Control Panel audio device manager and switch between the recording and replay tab. This should not affect the asio usb audio at all. Does this alter the crackling?

  • Sound Card and Wifi device Not working - Compaq Presario CQ60 -109EM AMD Sempron

I need a driver for my new note book Compaq Presario CQ60 109EM for Windows XP sp2 operating system.
It was on Vista Home Basic. I hated it because it made the computer ran very slow, i downgraded to XP Sp2
by myself, but now i am getting issues with all drivers. Everything is not working, the worse one is the sound
card and wifi device are not working event not detected by xp. Please help me.

grr i have the same problem, my laptop is the same model as urs. Go to Nvidia.com for the graphics card driver, the graphics card for our laptops is the nvidia geforce 8200 m card, just search it into the download section (it will ask you to). I cant get the internet working but im usin a usb modem. The webcam can be activated by going to the start menu and right clicking my computer and going to the manage option from here go to the device manager.
Go to the yellow section and it will say other devices it will say hp webcam now download a youcam driver or whatever and right click on the hp webcam
and select update driver click on this time only and select download from a spesific location and select the webcam driver it will hopefully work and be removed from the yellow section. now using a webcam veiwer you can use it. Thats all i know so far but i really would like to get my sound working mainly because on xp on this laptop it is pretty powerful for games as i can run crysis at medium settings at an exeptional level but obviously, NO SOUND GRR.....

  • No Hdmi output on Amd 8570 (video AND sound)

    Hello!
I've been having problems connecting monitors with HDMI cables to my destktop pc ( HP pavillion 500-089 ). everthing works fine for a couple of weeks than the display stops working, only display's a check signal cable message. The screen will work with other computers, gaming systems or bluray players. It's really frustrating because i only have 2 video outputs on the graphics card ( vga+hdmi ) and the VGA is used for a wacom cintiq tablet. I've sent it back to hp several times, they switched the video card on the first try but after that they would only send it back, stating there was no issues found... This has happened on 2 monitors, a samsung s24c350hl LED and a hitachi 720p ( which model code i can't remember.)
    Please help!!

I would be happy to assist you, but first I would encourage you to post which operating system you are using. And whether your operating system is 32-bit or 64-bit as with this I can provide you with accurate information.
Which Windows operating system am I running?
Is the Windows Version on My Computer 32-bit or 64-bit?
Given you have sent it in a couple times and nothing can be found that is wrong I am assuming it is software related and require this information to assist you with the issue.
Please re-post with the requested information and I would be happy to provide you with assistance. Thank you for posting on the HP Forums. Have a great day!

  • Loss of Sound

    hey everybody,
My desktop has lost all sound output. today I was trying to fix this, reconfiguring alsa, uninstalling and reinstalling it and setting everything up again. still no sound.
shutdown the comp, made sure the cables still hooked up on the inside (I had just put in a new fanless heatsink on my vid card last week). everything is fine.
I booted up with a live cd, first tried fedora13...only to have fedora barf and not load the live environment.
then booted from crunchbang 10a2, which worked fine. still no sound here, either.
could this be caused by anything else, or is my on-board sound just dead?
is there anything else to troubleshoot?

    Hi jamba,
I think the issue is that your output of lspci shows no Audio device. Perhaps it got disabled in the BIOS? dmesg output may indicate something else afoot with your audio hardware.
    Hope that helps.
I'll check out dmesg output.  also still need to check if something got disabled in the BIOS.
!snd_intel8x0m  <- is your problem. Your sound module got blacklisted so un-list it. Modprobe it then try sound again or just reboot and it should work.
moonswan.  snd_intel8x0 is the sound card (I think), in the alsa wiki it said it was recommended to blacklist snd_intel8x0m as a quirk fix.
No sound with or without it blacklisted still :-(
    thanks
