Video lags behind sound in YouTube app

I am using the iPad mini with the latest iOS update (7.1.1). When I use the YouTube app, the video lags behind the sound. What I mean by that is that I play the video for a few seconds and the lip-synching will be off. If I then pause the video, I can see the video catching up to the sound. However, the video will quickly begin to lag behind the sound again. This makes watching anything with dialogue pretty awful.

The same issue is happening with the Netflix app. Also, apps like Facebook and Safari seem to be crashing much more frequently for me after this update.

I have an iPad 2 and all of a sudden I have no sound in game apps. I have usual volume in videos and YouTube, I do get volume for games if I plug in headphones. I have switched to screen lock off and on again and I have also done a reset twice.....help :)

Check your settings. The iPads have a small switch on the right edge. It can be used as a rotation lock to keep the screen from automatically reorienting itself as you move around, but you need to have the tablet’s settings configured properly. That same switch, right above the volume buttons, can also be set to function instead as a mute button to silence certain types of audio.
If the switch is set to work as a mute button, you can change its purpose to “screen-rotation lock” by tapping the Settings icon on the home screen. On the Settings screen, tap General on the left side, and on the right side of the screen flick down to “Use Side Switch to.” Tap to select Lock Rotation or Mute to set the button’s function. Even if you set the side switch for your preferred use, you can still mute the Mini or lock the screen. Just double-click the Home button, and when the panel of apps appears along the bottom edge of the screen, flick the row from left to right with your finger. Tap the icon on the far left side of the row to either lock the iPad’s screen or mute the iPad’s alerts, notifications and sound effects. Music, podcasts and video are not muted unless you turn the volume all the way down.

Youtube App losing sound and is crashing after 10minutes. Help

Hi guys,I have problem with youtube app on demand. After 10 minutes watch, sound goes mute and crash soon afterward. I did reset the box, changed the network etc but still the problem occure. Is it faulty box or any other problem!thanksG

No sounds on Youtube, Skype, and perhaps on other apps, too...

Hi, I cannot hear any sounds on YouTube or Skype. iPod does ring when new emails come or I successfully send emails, but there is no sound coming out when I am on YouTube or Skype. Is there something that I have to do in setting? Thank you so much for your help!

From the Safari menu bar, select
          Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Privacy ▹ Remove All Website Data...
and confirm. Close the window. Then select
           ▹ System Preferences… ▹ Flash Player ▹ Advanced ▹ Delete All...
In the sheet that opens, check the box marked
          Delete All Site Data and Settings
then click Delete Data. Close the preference pane. Test.
If you use a FireWire audio interface, disconnect it and test again. If you don't know what a FireWire audio interface is, you don't have one.

IPhone 6 Plus - No video sound in sports apps

I can hear music played to my external speakers via bluetooth or simply through my iPhone 6 Plus speakers. I can hear music played on Vevo (music app) and the YouTube app. However, I can't hear any sound at all from any videos in my sports apps (Team Stream/Bleacher Reports, etc.), even when the volume is turned all the way up.
What setting(s) do I need to change to get my sound back on my sports videos? I've gone into those sports apps and there aren't any settings related to sound. Help!

Never mind. Came across the fix by accident. On the pull-up screen with Bluetooth, flashlight, etc., the 2nd block has to show AirPlay. Music in apps & videos plays this way also.

No sound in Youtube videos when played on Facebook in my Ipad

When I use youtube app, sound is perfect, if I share. Video in Facebook and try to watch it on my IPad , I got no sound, same happened when trying to watch posted videos all in FB. What can I do to fix it?

Youtube App has (a few) bugs after firware update on 46TL933G

After a video is finished and the next video on the playlist starts, the next video has a black screen. Sound is working, the control bar is working, I can press the back button to go to the menu. However, every video from now on until the restart of the app has a black screen.
If I go to the next video before a video ends, the next video is shown normally.

I did it several times. I don't have any saved channels, since I only use the TV for Youtube and DVDs. Therefore YouTube not working properly is really annoying.
I better describe the error again, since understanding my initial post obviously is hard: The YouTube App works. I can watch videos. Only not to the end! Otherwise the screen goes black (with the menu still working).

Can't find a Volume control in the Youtube App

You control the volume with the volume buttons on the Xoom (I'm assuming it has them, right?) while in the app. You should also be able to go into the main settings menu and find the sound settings. In there you can control the various sound settings for the device, with the media volume being what the You Tube app uses. Now, this is based off of android for phones, but I would imagine the Xoom isn't too much different.

Youtube app problems

Ok i have been searching through these forums for awhile now. I know im about to sound like an idiot but i did my research before doing this. I just updated my Iphone 3GS and now my original Youtube app is gone. No its not on another screen or in a folder i only have two screens and no folders. i have checked parental settings and restricitions. I have tried reseting my homescreen and all settings. i have searched spotlight. I have even held down the button until everything squiggles and checked the "Third" page and its not there either. As far as i know i have tried everything short of factory reseting my phone, but thats why im here to see if im missing something. I know someone is going to say its impossible to have deleted it unless you jailbroke your phone. I have not jailbroken my iphone. i dont know why its gone it just is and none of the above methods worked. What am I missing?

Apparently no "research" was done.
The YouTube app was removed in iOS 6.

First, check the caps lock on your PC keyboard. I know this sounds a bit silly, but we've all done it. If it turns out caps lock was on, then just enter all caps on the iPad.
If that's not the problem, try opening Notes and type your password sonyouncan see it. If you're not getting what you expect, try slowing down.
Let me know how that goes, andvI'll try to come up with a few more troubleshooting options.

No sound on any app/function iPhone 5

Hi guys i got my iPhone 5 about 2 week after launch and about 3 weeks later i lost all sound clicks from text's, game apps, YouTube wouldn't play any videos and it worked perfectly fine when i went to bed wake up in the morning to this.
I rebooted the phone and this resolved the issue, the phone was not in silent mode via settings or via the slider at the top of the phone.
the phone would be working fine for about 3 weeks then this would happen again same issues as above this went on till about the 14th December and Apple decided to change my phone now its happening again.
I am at a lose end does anybody know a fix or heard of this before as i am sure this problem could not happen too 2 different phones ?

I've had the same problem with my iPhone 4, and I think it's the iHandy alarm clock that causes the problem. Sometimes the alarm clock works fine, but randomly (one per week?) it will appear to be alarming, but with no sound. Once that happens, there's no sound from any app, and I can only fix it by rebooting the phone.
I've switched back to the "12,24 Alarm Clock Sleep Music" app - it's an older app and doesn't have as many features as iHandy, but it seems to not cause the sound problems.

on wifi I've tried to watch several different videos from the YouTube app and YouTube through safari... when connected through wifi the video loads 1-4 seconds of the video and stops. if I press play it'll play another couple seconds and stop again. I can load the same video via wifi on two different desktops (1 Mac, 1 win7), my MacBook... and that same video will load in it's entirety while I'm playing it through 3G... just wondering if anyone is having similar problems or issues with YouTube. any help/suggestions would help. I've already tried resetting my network connections on the iPad and that did not help. I've had no problem with my wifi connection browsing the web or even streaming music... problem only occurs with YouTube.

Sorry I have no solution - also not sure where the needed fix will be, i.e., OS, or the apps (or worst case, the device itself) Many posts here and there on the boards and also articles in the press. some have suggested proximity to the router helps - am not at home, so I can't test that out. It doesn't help longterm but would be great to have some workaround for the near term, however limited.
There is another, even worse behavior where the device freezes when streaming video and requires a hard reset. Folks are doing returns for that one,usually tied to replicating the behavior at the store. A system restore does not help but some stores make you go through that step. However, this does not sound like your problem.

Finally, sometimes video and audio problems are caused at a lower level and not directly related to Flash Player. I recommend trying both of the links below to see how they perform. If the problem exists with both, then Flash Player is most likely not the culprit as the HTML5 video link does not use Flash Player when playing. You can verify the use of HTML5 by right clicking the HTML5 video and looking for the words "About HTML5" at the bottom of the context menu.

YouTube App stopped working on E5-00! Showing conn...

I have problem only with this app, every other app that uses internet works just fine. YouTube App reports the same following error on both, 3G and Wi-Fi. I tried to reinstall the app, but it didn't help. Any suggestions?

I have the same problem (almost) and have been looking for a solution for the past 5 or 6 hours. Can't tell you guys how much I was relieved when I saw "Solved! Go to solution" but unfortunately it didn't work for me.
The thing is, I did a factory reset on my Nokia E63 because of a problem I had with Adobe Reader, and when the phoned turned on after the reset, I found out that Youtube was already installed, but there wasn't any shortcut to launch the app in the Media or Installations menu. So I opened the app manager and deleted it, and then re-installed it ( I installed a 2.04(10) version I found online). And now I have the same error as in OP's picture.
I donwloaded the 2000FBBA folder and tried to copy the files in the C:\Private folder using an app called X-plore (because Youtube was installed in C and there wasn't a 2000FBBA folder in E:\Private). Apparently you can't do that, even with x-plore, so I uninstalled the youtube app, and re-installed it on the SD memory card this time. The youtube app was still not working (same "could not connect" error) so I opened the card on my pc and there was a 2000FBBA folder, but it only had 2 files and a full "res" folder.
I copied the files from your RAR to E:\Private\2000FBBA, put the card back in the phone, turned it on, but youtube was still not working. I should also mention that I did the factory reset like 5 hours ago, but youtube was working fine yesterday, and I forgot to write down the number of the version I was using.
2.04(10) is the only version I have been able to find online. There's this this one but I can't find a way to download it.
This is getting very frustrating for me, and it doesn't help that when I use the web browser and real player to view youtube videos the quality is really bad and there's a lot of "stuttering" and small "breaks" in the sound.
Please I'm open to any suggestions. Even if I have to do another factory reset I'll do it, I just want to watch some videos on my phone
